Amazing Caterer with Excellent Menu

Waterfront was one of the preferred caterers for our venue and the decision was made within the first few bites at the tasting. Everything was phenomenal, Gary was great to work with and he made everything work for my husband, who kept coming up with different requests within the final two weeks, all of which he accommodated. The menu also stood out. I'm used to (and wanted) an app heavy wedding and their app menu had items that I have never seen before, like mini beef wellingtons. They were a huge hit! The staff made sure that they stashed away a few for us, as our guests were taking them down so fast! The combo of stationary and passed apps was perfect for us. Gary also worked with us to accommodate the different dietary restrictions that we had, which was very important to us. Also by providing all the linens, plates and glassware, it really took a lot of pressure (and cash) off of us, which is also important if you are having a destination wedding!

Couldn’t have asked for a better Caterer!

Working with Gary was nothing but easy. He was very flexible and always there to help and answer my questions right away. When it came to the wedding day, he eased my mind about everything. The food turned out fantastic, everyone absolutely loved it. The staff were also awesome! Kyle who was there the day of was nothing but great. He made sure my husband and I were doing okay and always checked in on us throughout the night! I couldn’t have asked for a better group to cater my wedding!

Wonderful Experience

Waterfront Catering Group was one of the preferred vendors for our venue and we can understand why! The food was delicious; all of our guests loved it. Gary was super flexible with our menu and offered many suggestions in the planning process. We highly recommend working with Gary at Waterfront Catering Group!

Phenomenal caterer!

We can't say enough great things about waterfront catering! Gary was so helpful from beginning to end and Kyle made the whole night run smoothly. Everyone raved about the food!

Waterfront Catering - so perfect for our day!

Gary at Waterfront is incredibly down to earth - and treated us like we were family. the food was incredible and he worked with us on price so that we were comfortable with everything. They were also incredibly helpful day of in setting up and advising on placement of things because of being a preferred caterer for our wedding venue.

Top notch service and coordination

Gary and his crew catered our wedding on our private property. We had ~200 people buffet-style outdoors under a tent. The staff were quick, efficient, thorough, and the food was delicious. We had many compliments on the hand-carved beef tenderloin especially. Leading up to the big day, Gary was very responsive and helped advise us on many aspects of our planning even beyond food. His experience and expertise were extremely helpful and his pricing was very reasonable considering all it included. His crew came by on the Thurs and Fri leading up to the wedding to prepare everything from the cook tent to tables, chairs, linens, table settings, centerpieces, etc. so we were all ready for the big day. He made sure everything ran on schedule the day of. His crew cut and served all our cake, boxed up any leftovers, and cleaned everything up. They were very attentive to everyone's needs. One of the staff even helped us with my dress bustle! The crew was a pleasure to work with and we can't thank them enough for making our day so smooth.

Amazing Food, Amazing Service, Amazing Company

Gary and his staff at Waterfront Catering are truly amazing, professional, and kind! They made us feel taken care of and there was absolutely no stress around the catering aspect of the wedding. All of my guest raved about the food and how delicious it was. The staff constantly kept waters full, plates cleared, and were extremely polite. If you’re getting married book him and his team! You will NOT regret it!

Absolutely Gorgeous!

The room is absolutely gorgeous and they know how to decorate to show off the best part...the view! We had an evening wedding and got the full sunset over the lake view. Gary and Diane are a dream to work with! All I had to do was drop off anything I wanted and they did the rest. Also, I was able to give the other vendors Gary/Diane's email address and they scheduled everything for the day of. I didn't have to worry about a thing.

Food and Drink Masterpiece!

The catering and bar service were FANTASTIC!!!! Gary and his company were wonderful to work with and we couldn’t have asked for more delicious food. People still tell us how much they enjoyed their meal and how nice and helpful the bar staff was and it's been four months since our wedding. Gary did an amazing job getting delicious beer for our bar service too! We have a lot of beer aficionado friends and they were all impressed at the selection offered at our wedding. Gary worked tirelessly to work with us and craft the perfect menu. They hit it out of the park! You will not be disappointed.

Perfect wedding venue

Gary and Diane were absolutely amazing. We have a little twist to our food menu... Pizza and Mac and cheese and they loved the idea! Which brings me to how delicious it was! They respond quickly to questions or concerns. And make your day perfect! And the room itself is amazing!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Gary and his catering company. His professionalism, expertise, and great humor made our experience with him more than enjoyable. Gary has years of experience and it shows in everything he does. We would’ve been lost without him! He made himself available at all times, communicated often, and provided us with an incredible menu. As for the food, OMG. SO AMAZING. It was seriously the best beef tenderloin EVER. And don’t get me started on the horseradish sauce...! Everything was hot, cooked to perfection, and looked beautiful. Guests were able to get up and have seconds (and believe me, they did!). If my husband and I ever host another event, Gary will hands down be our guy. When we first started looking for a caterer for our wedding, we had absolutely no idea what we were doing. A friend of mine told us about Gary and we hit it off from the time we met. He was able to accommodate an off site wedding without a kitchen and our meal was out of this world. Gary will be a lifelong friend of ours and we are so thankful we met him and used him as our caterer! We cannot recommend him enough. Thank you for everything, Gary! We couldn’t have pulled off our wedding without you!

We celebrated our reception at the Sunset Ballroom, and we had a great time! Everyone enjoyed the place, the food, and the view! Gary helped us in every step of the way. Very responding to our emails, phone calls and overall any inquiry we had. On the day of the wedding, Gary and his wife helped us to organize the venue just as we visioned it. Our wedding day was sunny, chill and beautiful, so we recommend to bring sunglasses and get your cameras ready for great pictures of the sunset!

Gary and Diane are amazing people to work with!! They made sure our wedding was stress free and so much fun with a beautiful view and reasonable pricing! We were able to give Diane our wedding Decor and she set it up for us, making the room look beautiful! Gary helped with any and all questions we had from important questions, to smaller less important questions. The next day all we had to do was grab the Decorations and bring them to the car, we didn’t even need to pack them up! everyone has been complementing us on such a great wedding and we know it wouldn’t have been complete if we did not have their help! Had my wedding here two weeks ago and let me just say that Gary and Diane do an amazing job!!! My husband and I loved meeting with Gary as he always had our best interests in mind and would do anything to make us happy. The day of the wedding the Ballroom looked amazing, the food was excellent, and we were very happy and did not have to stress because we knew we were in the best hands!

We had both of our daughter's weddings here, one in 2014 and one just last weekend. This venue is the best in the area - the views, attention to detail, wide open space with outdoor patio - couldn't ask for more! Gary and Diane are excellent and easy to work with. We had buffet at one wedding and plated at other - our guests raved about how delicious the food was and how much there was on both occasions. Staff working receptions were very professional and attended to all our needs. Nothing negative to say!

Diane was amazing!! They were able to move the alter from indoors to outside in a matter of minutes to accommodate my request. Food was amazing!! My husband is still talking about the filet that he had.

We can't thank you enough for all that you did to make our wedding day truly spectacular! From the very first meeting with Gary we had no worries that we were in good hands. Gary helped us settle on the perfect menu for our Fall wedding at The Mansfield Barn and our guests are still raving about how good the food was! Not only was the staff extremely professional, they were all exceptionally pleasant to deal with and we felt they were all just as excited as we were. My only responsibilities as the bride were to deliver the cake knife, toasting glasses, and table favors to the venue the day before the wedding. Gary and his staff handled everything else. We felt completely comfortable that even the smallest of details would be taken care of which allowed us to be able to relax and enjoy the day. You truly made us feel like the guests of honor and we are forever grateful.

We feel incredibly lucky to have had the chance to work with Gary and his team at Waterfront Catering. Always available for questions and quick to offer solutions (keeping our budget in mind), we knew we were in good hands with this great team.

From the first tasting to our wedding day, Gary made our wedding planning experience incredibly enjoyable. He worked tirelessly to procure our wine selections and graciously accommodated every single request made on the food front, resulting in a truly inspired menu that boasted delicious dished for both our rehearsal dinner and wedding reception.

Between the build-your-own-burger bar under the stars at Oakledge Park to a beautifully plated meal at the magical Shelburne Museum, guests left our wedding weekend raving about the food and the spectacular, professional service!

Almost like having my very own wedding planner! They were so flexible and welcomed every idea I had. All I had to do was drop off my items a few days before the wedding and they set it up beautifully. The food was delicious, the service was awesome, the view of Lake Champlain was amazing. I was very comfortable having my reception there.

As an attending guest and also an out of state floral designer for a recent wedding held at The Sunset Ballroom, I was just absolutely impressed and amazed by the outstanding service that both Gary and Diane respectfully gave to me before during and after the wedding ceremony. They both were so very accommodating by supplying me a room to prepare and complete all of the table arrangements and bridal flowers that needed to be made, and also cordially offered to keep the flowers in their refrigerators to stay fresh. They were always very kind and courteous and went well above my expectations in helping me to make the reception hall look beautiful with all of the flowers that was explained on how to set up.

Not only was the wedding venue absolutely beautiful, but the food, DJ, and entire staff was just perfect.Every detail was just perfect! I had a wonderful evening and would highly recommend The Sunset Ballroom to anyone who wants a wedding where you will be catered to with respect, class, elegance and appreciation.

I am NOT the bride. I am the groom's mother from out of state. I brought with me all the decorations, centerpieces, and items to decorate the wedding arch, and flowers for bouquets, bouts, etc.
I must tell every potential bride that Gary and Diane Provost went above and beyond any expectations with regard to co-operation, knowledge, kindness, and extending themselves and their facility to make the wedding vision we had a reality.
The food was excellent, the DJ was very good, the ballroom looked amazing, and their staff was very attentive and very kind to our guests. My son, daughter-in-law, and our guests were thrilled!
Thanks again Gary and Diane for an awesome evening.

My husband and I were married here in the summer of 2009 and we couldn't have been happier. Gary & Diane were so informative and helpful, it was obvious that they have many years experience in planning & hosting weddings. The room looked beautiful, I explained to Diane beforehand how I wanted everything set up and she made it look even better than I had expected. Honestly I was too excited to really eat (I lose my appetite when I'm overly excited) but 2 years later guests are still raving about how good the food was (especially the prime rib) and how beautiful our wedding was. We were supposed to get married outside on the rooftop and literally at the last minute (the girls and I were in the elevator heading up to the ceremony when Diane told me there was a change in plans) it started pouring and our ceremony had to be brought indoors...the guests we didn't tell still think we had planned to get married indoors, the transition was seamless. Gary & Diane took care of EVERYTHING so I didn't have to worry about anything, making my day perfect, the way it's supposed to be. Despite the rain (which we can't control & some say is good luck) our wedding day was perfect- I couldn't have been happier! I recommend the Sunset Ballroom to any couple looking for a stress free beautiful wedding at a great price. Friends of ours are getting married there in 1 week and I'm so excited to go back there for another wedding. <3

One of the reviews I read said that the DJ wasn't good, we thought he was excellent- the dance floor was packed, nobody wanted to leave at the end of the night. He played all of our requests and never played any song from our do not play list. He was a great MC too and let our guests know when things were happening, cake cutting, bouquet toss, ect. He also made the bouquet toss a lot of fun...so if you and your guests are fun and you're looking for a good time I would recommend the in house DJ as well. <3

My husband and I were married at the Sunset Ballroom in September of 2009. We were SO happy with the service we recieved. Gary was amazing to work with. He was kind, friendly and extremely knowlegable. The food was amazing, the room was beautiful, the staff was the best, and everything turned out fabulous. I had nothing to worry about the day of the wedding. I knew everything was in Gary and Diane's hands and they would take care of it! We had a carefree fantastic time with our family and friends. At the end of the night all the gifts/cards and even the leftover cake was delivered straight to our hotel room! Our family and friends are still raving to this day! We couldn't have asked for anything better!

Having my reception at the Sunset Ballroom was the best wedding experience I could have asked for. Gary and Diane were so easy to work with. They were very responsive to any and all questions I had (I had a lot of questions). Also, the price was right. I believe this is one of the best venues in Vermont for getting a lot of bang for your buck. The process was especially easy since they do catering and bar service on site, so I didn't have to worry about bringing in outside vendors. The set up the day of the wedding was flawless. Diane and her weekend warriors did a great job of decorating. Several guests complimented the room decorations. The reception itself was also perfect. Not surprising considering the years and years of experience Gary and Diane have in the wedding industry. They made what could have been an extremely stressful process astonishingly easy. I would recommend the Sunset Ballroom in a heartbeat. You'll be in good hands.

Great Service

Waterfront catering provided us with great quality service and reasonably priced catering options! The food was cooked freshly. Gary was super helpful and responsive to all our needs and Matt and Ryan were great cooks and bar tenders.

The Sunset ballroom is a beautiful place to get married, everything went smooth, and they were all about us, I think that the DJ was a little off, didn't want to play the music my guest wanted to hear and annoyed alot of people, but besides that, the food was great and the sunset was perfect!

Where to begin? The list seems endless...poor communication by event organizer, required to use in-house DJ (who happens to be event organizer's brother) and was $300 higher in price than closest competitor. We sat down with him to review music selection and songs we did and didn't want. At his request we filled out the form specifying songs we didn't want played (some were for sentimental reasons as my fiance had recently lost both parents). Needless to say...all requests were ignored, including preference of music genre. The dance floor at my wedding was bare all night except for the traditional, ceremony dance (ie: father/daughter).
Next disaster was the food....it was simply awful...bland, over cooked pasta that was starchy and clumpy, rubbery meat. It was a disaster!
Next was the facility...it seemed beautiful when we went to look but the day of our wedding was a different story. It was a bright, sunny day and the floor to ceiling windows provided a nice view but when the sun is full in the sky...it provided a full on assault for my guests. There were no shades or adjustable blinds and the tables were set so the guests were fully facing the sun. We had 2 tables of people get up and move to nearby BENCHES to eat...just so they could see each other. How AWFUL!
Place settings were awful, half the decorations I brought in were not used and when I called to get them back after the ceremony...they had been thrown away accidentally!
Your wedding day is the one day where you want everything to go perfectly and when I look back....there are 100 things I would change. I have more bad memories than good thanks to this facility. I would never recommend them to anyone...for any function. They take no pride in their work and care more about making money than customer satisfaction. To top it all off when I called to complain....I was offered no reimbursement and told not to come back if I didn't like it!
