  Book with Molly, she is great! The team at WSHS, regardless if they are events, support services, curatorial, or education are top notch! I have worked with the different departments of WSHS in the past on various occasions and at each time my service and experience was second to none.

  This is the most excellent venue for your wedding. The museum staff went out of their way to make sure my daughter's wedding was everything she wanted it to be. They were supportive, creative, sensitive, and by the time the day came we felt like they were part of our family! I can't say enough about the excellent quality of service they provided from our first visit (and all of the visits we made over the months leading up to the wedding to measure, chat, and seek advice) all the way through the rehearsal, set up, the ceremony and reception, and the final take down. They are the best! It was a beautiful, remarkable experience and the memories will last a lifetime. Thank you to the best wedding venue we could have hoped for!

  Exceptional value and service. We used the grand lobby for a fundraiser and it turned out amazing. The staff was very attentive and accommodating. Prior to the event communication was always prompt which calmed our nerves being our first formal fundraiser.

  This was for a private party with a Halloween theme. The Museum entrance hall was where we set up for dinner. The drama and lighting are perfect. We especially were thrilled to have access to the History Museum as part of the cost of the venue. Parking was included which is a plus in an area of paid parking only. The Museum staff is very accommodating, friendly, helpful, and patient.

  Washington State History Museum staff were a pleasure to work with. Always professional, able to adjust if any requests were misunderstood or not communicated originally and they were prepared with signage and other minor touches that we might have requested but they had already provided. Guests love the venue and appreciated the ability to view the exhibits as well. An absolute fantastic venue to work with!

  The Washington State History Museum went above and beyond for our wedding ceremony! Our needs were relatively simple: a microphone and sound system, a podium, and an archway. All were set up and ready well before anyone from the wedding party arrived at the venue. Any time someone needed a museum representative, they were prompt and met our needs quickly. We were given access to our dressing rooms with more than enough time to dress and prepare for pre-ceremony photos. Thanks to the museum staff, our ceremony was a rousing success!

  We really enjoyed our experience with the staff of the history museum. They were very helpful in creating the perfect space for our wedding. They were also very flexible with us because we had some unique requests. Overall we had a beautiful and unforgettable wedding a the Washington State history Museum. I would recommend looking into it because it was a great value for the money.

  The staff of the Washington State History Museum was awesome! It was a little difficult to book the venue because you have to go online to do it. However, once we were able to work with the Museum Staff, everything was great!!! Couldn't have asked for a better venue or service : )

  Loved loved loved this venue! The rental fee was very reasonable and workiing with Mark and Gary, the two event coordinators, was a dream! They are helpful, creative, attentive to detail, and professional. They helped me through the entire process and we mainly communicated by email. They were busy, I was busy, but I rarely had trouble getting hold of them. They set up all the tables and chairs and all the tables and chairs come with the venue. That alone was a huge plus for us. We rented tablecloths and decorated using the vases and candle holders that they keep in storage at the venue. We even used the museum's vases at the church during the wedding ceremony! The vases and candle holders all are free for you to use and they have a room full of them.
  The only negative was the security guards we had on the night of the reception. Two of them were pushy, authoritative and way to cop-like for a relaxed wedding crowd that is there to have a good time. They managed to piss off quite a few of my family members and create unnecessary drama on the day of. Be sure to get certified bartenders and bring a copy of your banquet permit in case the museum loses yours. The two security guards we had over-reacted to a couple of things and yelled at my bartenders and some of my family members for no reason. After speaking to Mark about this, he comped the parking fees. All in all a wonderful venue and Jaime the security guard who works Sunday and Monday is awesome! I wish all security guards were like him! Got tons of compliments on the venue. People enjoyed the two hours of free exhibit time that comes with the venue rental. Would use the place again in a heart beat as long as I have certified bartenders (mine weren't because I didn't know they needed to be).
