  The best there is...truly

  If we could give 100 stars we would. Hiring Sarah was the best of the hundreds of decisions we made throughout the planning process. She is an absolute PRO. Not only is her work incredible, but she's just an awesome person to be around on your wedding day. Sarah and Frank appreciate the importance of the moment. They expertly captured all of the important pieces yet were completely in the background. Definite photography ninjas. At the same time, Sarah effortlessly directed large groups of people for family photos. Finally, we had to reschedule our engagement shoot too many times because of the weather (#springinthemidwest) and Sarah's flexibility and willingness to pivot on a dime saved the day. During photography, she gives excellent direction when needed but can also go with the flow and capture what is happening naturally. We felt so well taken care of throughout the day knowing we could trust her to keep things running smoothly. We can't recommend Sarah and Frank enough.

  Sarah and Frank are the best!

  Sarah and Frank did an amazing job with our wedding photos. We could not be happier with their work. Not only was the quality of their photos incredible, they were very personable and accommodating. They had a calming and positive presence that made the entire process go smoothly. Several of our other vendors were great, but Sarah and Frank were, by far, our favorite people to work with and the best hiring decision we made.

  Engagement Photo Shoot

  Five stars isn’t enough to justify how wonderful Sarah Wilson from Wandering Heart Photography truly is. From the very first point of contact (while she was traveling abroad, no less) to the clink of glasses at the end of our engagement shoot, her professional demeanor yet loving sense of guidance made our engagement photo experience the best I could imagine. Sarah’s respect for the art photography medium shines through in all of her work. She answered all of our questions and helped to plan the day with us – which made us nervous nellies enjoy the day even more. She truly captured the life, love, and joy of my finance and I. Sarah’s gift of photography is priceless, and you will treasure the moments she captures forever.

  Perfect in every way

  We can't say enough great things about Wandering Heart photography. The photos from our wedding are STUNNING-- the biggest challenge is going to be finding an album big enough to hold the hundreds we completely love. The photos look natural, joyful, candid, and classic. We love them and are so thankful for the great work Sarah and Frank did.
  
  In terms of planning, Sarah and Frank were amazing. From our first call, they were super friendly, easy to work with, made us feel comfortable and at ease (even when posing for photos, which is hard to do!) and prompt and highly communicative. We chose between them and a different, more expensive photographer, and I'm so glad we made the choice we did, because I can't imagine anyone doing a better job.
  
  We'd hire them again in a second. Thanks, you two!

  Exceptional photographers who capture outdoors wedding beautifully

  We loved working with Sarah and Frank. The photos of our engagement and wedding beat our expectations. Our wedding was outdoors and capturing the natural light and outdoor space was of utmost importance to me and they did so exceptionally. I looked through more photographers' portfolios than I'd like to admit and couldn't be happier with our decision to go with Wandering Heart.
  
  Beyond that, both Sarah and Frank were a joy to work with from the start. They were, friendly, professional, and more importantly listened to our needs and wants for our photos. They made us feel extremely comfortable in front of the camera, gave great direction while also letting us be ourselves and not look over posed.
  
  Getting married can be stressful from planning to the hustle and bustle of the actual day and this husband wife duo are organized and caring individuals making the photography aspect a breeze.

  Wandering Heart Photography absolutely made our wedding day the most wonderful experience I could have asked for. They went above and beyond to make me feel like the most beautiful bride and get every picture we wanted. Their work is beyond amazing! We had a minor mishap with transportation and Sarah and her husband wisked us away to capture all the amazing shots we hoped for! I did not have to stress at all on our wedding day. The pictures came back absolutely gorgeous and perfect! They also shot our engagement shoot and I could not have asked for better photos. I highly recommend Sarah and her team!

  Sarah is professional, creative and overall great to work with. She did our engagement photos and we loved them so much that we hired her to do our wedding as well!! Her husband Frank, who is often the second shooter for weddings, is just as talented as Sarah. They make for a top choice photography team. We can't wait to get an updated family shoot soon!

  Book Sarah for your wedding! She is incredibly talented and a joy to work with through the entire process. She is so friendly and encouraging that you immediately relax when she is taking pictures. Couldn't be happier with the 650+ photos we got of our wedding. All of them are stunning, even the ones of very ordinary parts of the day.

She manages to freeze these tiny moments that really stick with you and helps you really re-live the entire day as you go back through your photographs later. My husband and I felt so comfortable and at ease with Sarah and Frank which made it that much easier to get some really great memories captured on film. She listened to our wants and desires, and came up with some truly amazing shots and ideas which I can really say is the best of both worlds as we were able to lean on her expertise as well as felt heard and appreciated.   So I did not actually end up booking Wandering Heart (my close college friend who is also a professional photographer will be doing my photos) but Sarah (owner of WH) was just wonderful in our chats about me hiring her. I was going to go with her but then found out my friend will be available and since we have such a rapport already I couldn't pass up the opportunity. She has great prices for the area and was so kind and open to discussion about altering packages. She was a little slow responding, but it is wedding season so I totally understood--a girl is busy!! Even though I can't comment on anything post-wedding (which some would say is truly the most important thing) I felt I just had to comment on her kindness and flexibility. Definitely if you aren't in the same boat as me (someone who studied photojournalism in college and is close with several amazing photographers) contact Wandering Heart!!
