With my family being in PA and my husband's in MA, we had quotes and tours with so many different venues throughout all of new england. It seemed like we were finding something wrong with every venue until we happened upon the Wadsworth Mansion. We first toured it in the absolute pouring rain, and just fell absolutely in love. We kept saying - if we love it this much in the rain we just can't go wrong. We got married on 5-10-25 and I just can't say enough good things about this venue. It was truly like having a Newport Mansion wedding at a literal fraction of the price, and even better because it is just SO private. You'll feel it as soon as you drive in just how private and expansive this estate is. The landscaping is truly something special. It's a venue that really less is more, as the place speaks for itself in its timeless elegance. I have to give a huge shoutout to Rachel, our venue coordinator. She was super communicative and just so well organized in executing our whole event. The personal items I provided such as table numbers, our memorial table which was really important to me, the guestbook table and bathroom baskets, were all set up for us and broken down at the end of the night which just took so much load off us for the day. Rachel was so calm and kept us on schedule throughout the whole event and kept all our vendors on the same page. Our whole day was just beautiful and perfect she was a huge part of that. So many people told us it was the best wedding they've ever been to and I think the venue just speaks for itself, the ballrooms are elegant and intimate and the patio for dancing is so unique. Our wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion (9.27.2025) was pure magic. I truly can’t imagine getting married anywhere else. From the moment you drive up the tree-lined entrance, you feel like you’ve entered another world. The setting is completely breathtaking... elegant, timeless, and full of character. Every single space, from the beautiful lawn to the grand interior rooms, made the day feel like something out of a dream.
Dancing on the back patio under the lights was one of my favorite memories. It felt like a movie moment and also like a gilded age party worthy of Gatsby. The photos turned out absolutely stunning, and the atmosphere throughout the entire day was nothing short of perfect.
Working with Jessica and Alex was such a joy. They were so kind, organized, and genuinely cared about helping us have the best day possible. From the planning stages through the wedding day itself, everything went so smoothly, and I felt completely at ease knowing they were on top of every detail.
Our wedding memories will truly last a lifetime, and I will forever be grateful that we chose the Wadsworth Mansion. If you’re looking for a venue that’s both elegant and welcoming, with a team that goes above and beyond, this is it. I wouldn’t change a single thing... it was pure magic from start to finish. We got married here in August and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful, from the grounds to the architecture. But, really made the day so special was the staff — especially our event coordinator, Rachel. She was a total star! So responsive, organized, and just such a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Our wedding at the Wadsworth Mansion was truly a dream come true. The venue is absolutely stunning—elegant, timeless, and surrounded by gorgeous grounds that made for incredible photos.
Our wedding coordinator, Rachel, truly went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. She was so organized, thoughtful, and made the day stress-free for us. Every little detail was handled with care, and she made sure we felt supported from start to finish. We can’t thank her enough!
Also big shoutout to our caterer, Aqua Turf, who did an amazing job. The food and service were outstanding. They coordinated everything with the Wadsworth which also helped take the stress off of us!
We couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful or seamless day. Highly recommend Wadsworth Mansion to any couple looking for a magical wedding experience! Our guests are still raving about the venue! We would choose the Wadsworth Mansion again in a heartbeat.

From the moment we arrived, we knew this was the place where we wanted to celebrate such an important moment in our lives.
The grounds are breathtaking—lush, sprawling lawns, and beautiful gardens that created endless opportunities for capturing the most incredible photos and videos. Every corner of the estate feels special, and the grandeur of the mansion adds a touch of classic sophistication that made our wedding feel like something out of a fairy tale.
The staff and coordinators were absolutely phenomenal. Every single person we interacted with was kind, professional, and attentive, going above and beyond to ensure our day was flawless. They were thoughtful, organized, and handled every detail seamlessly, making us feel so cared for from start to finish. It’s clear that the Wadsworth Mansion team takes pride in creating unforgettable experiences, and they exceeded our expectations in every way.

The Wadsworth Mansion was our absolute dream wedding venue. From the very first meeting with Jessica, we knew the place was going to be perfect for our wedding. Jessica answered all our questions on our first tour and was super welcoming. When the wedding planning began, Alexandra was the one to help me with all day of coordination. I truly could not ask for a better person to help us with our special day. She dealt with my constant emails about my unconventional seating arrangement ideas with total patience and grace. She made me feel like together we could make whatever I hoped for happen. Alexandra was also amazing the day of. She had the day going perfectly according to schedule and made sure my husband and I, and wedding party were taken care of at all times. On top of all this, The Wadsworth Mansion is an absolutely stunning venue. Everything is so well kept and every part of it is perfect for a wedding. There’s so much room for originality with also keeping the elegance of the venue. Highly recommend to anyone thinking of having their wedding there -

My husband and I got married at this BEAUTIFUL, most romantic venue on June 14, 2024. It truly was a fairytale. From our first appointment seeing the venue to our wedding day, everything went so smoothly. We were lucky enough to work with Rachel as our coordinator, who we met at the initial site visit appointment we made. I can't say enough amazing things about her and the rest of the Wadsworth Mansion staff. Their venue is not only gorgeous, but their staff is extremely organized, friendly, and professional. They even allowed our dog, who is our baby, to be part of the ceremony!! I would get married here over and over again if I could!! We've already been back to experience one of their fun concerts on the back lawn. We hope to continue to keep coming back to Wadsworth Mansion as a part of our love story. -

The PERFECT wedding venue! As soon as we pulled up the driveway, we knew this was the venue for us. The team at the mansion are professional, kind and helpful. We had Rachel for our day of coordinator and she was incredible! Throughout the entire planning process, the team at Wadsworth was communicative and supportive. They always answered any questions we had in a timely manner and they truly made our day run so smoothly. The venue is gorgeous and well maintained. You truly do not have to bring any additional decor if you don't want to because it is so beautiful. We were able to have our ceremony outside and the reception indoors. Our day truly felt like a fairytale and a huge part of that is because of the gorgeous Wadsworth Mansion as the setting. We cannot recommend them enough!Wadsworth Mansion's reply:

The Wadsworth is the full package--a beautiful, historic venue with helpful staff who encouraged us to explore our vision. They offered support throughout the planning process, have a vast network of referrals and recommendations, and helped make day of coordination a dream. From the very first visit, we knew this venue was perfect for us. If you have any hesitation on the split dining rooms, we had 170 guests at our November 2023 wedding, and absolutely loved how intimate the rooms were, and it made dinner feel all the more special and intentional. I cant say enough amazing things about the Wadsworth and the incredible staff that comes with the most elegant venue in Connecticut. I worked with Jess and Rachel to plan my wedding and they provided so much help and support, I felt extremely comfortable not having a planner. Rachel was so great in the final months of the wedding. They helped us with EVERYTHING.
It goes without saying there is a huge WOW factor here. The building itself is just beautiful and makes for such timeless photos. We got married in August while the hydrangeas were in bloom and the grounds were stunning for our ceremony. We then had cocktail hour in the rose garden and transformed the space. Plus, the balcony in the back is EVERYTHING. See the photos for inspo.
The ballrooms inside our beautiful but we wanted a fully outdoor wedding (100% use David Alan Catering if you want the same) and the mansion staff worked tirelessly to help us pull that off. Even accommodating a tent and a brand new plan the week of the wedding when the threat of rain became a real possibility. I don't have one bad thing to say. The wedding of our dreams!
The wedding of our dreams was held at the Mansion in April of this year and it could not have been more perfect! As a more mature couple without a true vision of what we wanted, Megan was invaluable in helping us design the ideal evening. Without her, who know what we would have come up with! Every idea she had the caterer and florist were able to execute flawlessly. She was with us every step of the way all the way to when I walked down the aisle. And Alex, our event supervisor for the evening, took such incredible care of us...she even kept my phone for the entire night and made sure to take tons of photos for us! The Mansion is just such a gorgeous venue and all of our guests were blown away. Get married at The Wadsworth Mansion - you'll be happy you did! -

WOW - where do we even begin! We got married here on 6/10/23, and could not be happier with our experience!
First and foremost, the Mansion is absolutely stunning beyond words. We fell in love with it from the moment we saw it, and immediately knew it was "the one". We got married in the rose garden, had our cocktail hour on the patio (with a sailcloth tent and bistro lighting), and dined in both dining rooms plus the middle (head table). Initially, we were concerned that having split up dining would break up the party, but it did anything but that! We absolutely LOVED having the dining area separate from the "party" area. Our guests raved about the beauty of Wadsworth and how perfect everything was.
Everything was seamless from the beginning of our planning process (almost 2 years ago). We had the pleasure of being assigned Alexandra (Alex) Shields as our event coordinator in the months leading up to the wedding. She is THE BEST. She answered my never-ending emails, constantly offered a phone call if needed, and ensured absolutely everything went perfectly smooth on our big day. She seamlessly coordinated all of the vendors and ensured all of our details were perfectly set up. She even dealt with a mini bride meltdown week of :). Night of- anytime we were almost done with a drink, Alex seemed to be right there with another which was greatly appreciated.
We recommend the mansion 1,000x. There truly is not a more beautiful venue out there. It is the most romantic, picturesque setting that you can completely make your own with its' many spaces to hold different parts of the wedding. We absolutely loved being able to hand-select all of our vendors (with help from Wadsworth's recommendations). It was a picture perfect day that we will never forget.

We booked The Wadsworth Mansion for our wedding and it was one of the best choices we could have made.
Catie was incredible from day one. She was always responsive via email, very helpful in the planning process, and kept everything running smoothly on the day of. She remembers every little detail and handles everything with ease!
The venue itself is so stunning and offers so many spaces you can use, from the rose garden to the ballrooms and beyond. It allows for your guests to stay interested and makes it so easy to keep your entire event at one location.

Get married here!
100% the best venue, hands down. My husband and I fell in love with the venue the first time we visited and immediately booked the Wadsworth Mansion back in 2018 for a spring 2020 wedding. Long story short, we had to postpone 2 years until June 2022 and they made it so easy to do so! We had a small 65-person wedding and it was the perfect amount of people to use one of the ballrooms for the dinner reception. We used the other ballroom for our Chinese tea ceremony, had our wedding ceremony on the back lawn, and danced outside on the patio. Weddings at the Wadsworth are so customizable and every corner of this place is beautiful. In addition, the staff there is so helpful during the planning process; super responsive and helpful in giving tips and asking questions. The cherry on top is that they're dog friendly so we got to bring our pup with us to celebrate our day too!Wadsworth Mansion's reply:

Jessica and her team at the Wadsworth Mansion were amazing in every sense of the word! Planning a wedding in July 2021 came with a few planning obstacles and roadblocks due to covid, however we felt like we were in great hands from day one. Jessica was extremely responsive in all communications and made us feel informed and comfortable during the planning process. We were able to have about 80 guests indoors for dinner, and our ceremony and reception outdoors on the large back patio. Jessica was insightful, patient, and extremely knowledgeable when in came to planning our big day. From vendor recommendations to day of execution, we cannot recommend Wadsworth Mansion and Jessica enough! We wish we could relive our big day all over again – thank you!!Wadsworth Mansion's reply:

The whole team was so easy to work with (even after we were forced to push our date out by a year due to Covid) and made sure our big day was effortless and nothing short of perfect. The Wadsworth Mansion has always been my dream wedding venue. When my husband and I went for our site tour I was in awe as soon as we walked into the building, I knew we didn’t need to look any further. We were so excited when we booked the mansion. Jess and Megan were so helpful with keeping us updated on Covid guidelines and worked with our wedding planner to make our night unforgettable!
We decided to keep our wedding fully outside under the tent and it was absolutely stunning. The grounds, building and everything about the mansion is truly beautiful!! If your looking for a mansion wedding, you don’t need to look any further, book Wadsworth!! My husband and I and our families had an amazing night!!

I found the Wadsworth Mansion in a magazine under venues in New England. We were going to be driving through CT so we figured why not? Being from New York- Born, raised and living in Brooklyn, we didn't know about this place or really anything about CT.
I left the initial site visit knowing "This is it". Jess was amazing and we decided this was the place for us.
Pre-Pandemic- The Wadsworth, made up of Jess and a team, were always helpful and accomodating. Jess answered all 10000 of my questions and were super knowledgable and supportive throughout the process. She came through will all great recommendations and was truly happy to see our dream coming to fruition.
Pandemic- During the stressful time of figuring out "postpone or to not postpone" the Wadsworth was nothing but understanding and compassionate. I mean, yes, you'd expect people to be understanding during a global pandemic, but they were supporting-- it never felt like business- but felt like family. The team at the Wadsworth were on top of all policies and regulations during the year and made sure to keep everyone posted.
They were super accommodating when we decided to pivot our original plan to a strictly outdoor, covid-safe plan. It is one thing to speak and give out ideas, it is another to feel truly heard-- Wadsworth did that.
In the end, Jess & the team helped make our wedding dreams come true. Because of all the (unexpected) time we had together, we grew to know the Wadsworth and not only respect and appreciate the wonderful staff, but see them as friends.

We moved our wedding date from November 2020 to September 2020 so we could have our wedding outside rather than inside due to covid.
Our original venue did not have outdoor space, so we began looking at outdoor venues and found the Wadsworth two months before our new date. In the span of 8 weeks Jessica and Catie helped us plan the wedding of our dreams while accommodating the requirements due to covid such as spcaing guests out, etc. We felt safe and so did our guests which was very important to us. Everything was beautiful and was beyond anything we expected, especially with covid and booking the venue at such short notice. I would highly recommend this venue! We held our ceremony outside in the rose garden and utilized the tent space over the patio for our reception, but there are many options available. Catie was our event supervisor for our wedding and she ensured everything went smoothly and that we stayed on track with time. She was there for all of our questions and helped us pack up our flowers and gifts and the end of the night.Wadsworth Mansion's reply:

Absolutely Stunning!
We had the most magical wedding day at the mansion! It is absolutely beautiful there with indoor/outdoor options as to how you would like the ceremony and reception to take place. The grounds are impeccable as is the interior. Jessica and the staff are responsive, friendly and professional, leading up to and on the day of they make sure all ran smoothly without us having to worry about a thing. They even helped us bump up the time of our firework display because the weather was calling for rain! They were so on it, and helpful at every turn. I would recommend the venue without hesitation as well as their preferred vendors. By working with the preferred vendors, there was such a sense of teamwork among the venue, caterers and DJ. All went off without a hitch! We also included a photo from our photographers Vicki + Erik who captured the mansion so beautifully. We had our multicultural wedding here (Indian wedding in the morning followed by a western wedding in the evening and then a reception) and Jessica and her staff were the best team for the job. The grounds were beautiful, the venue was flexible with all of our crazy requests, and the value for money was awesome. Being married at the Wadsworth Mansion was an easy decision once we walked the grounds and saw how stunning the mansion came to life. The grounds are kept up in perfect condition and added a perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony and reception. Working with Deb, Jess and Meg was simply perfect. From the welcome packet which explained all of the little details to the communication to ensure everything was lining up was seamless. All three ladies were there to ensure we had the most perfect and flawless day. What makes the mansion unique is having the building to yourself. There are no two weddings on the same day. We very much enjoyed using both ballrooms for our friends and family. Trust them when it comes to designing your layout. They are very much experienced with all things weddings and if we could do it all over again, we would!! Thank you again, Wadsworth for making this a day we will never forget! -

Sara Sent on 09/11/2017We booked the Wadsworth two years before our wedding date. From the moment we toured the Wadsworth, we knew that we needed to get married there. The grounds and mansion are absolute perfection.
Leading up to the day, Jessica was so attentive responding to my endless e-mails regarding everything you could possibly imagine. The day of our wedding, Natalie was our coordinator and she was beyond sweet, accommodating, and calm! She listened to all of our wants and made our wedding day perfect.
We had so many guests come up to us and tell us it was the best wedding that they had ever been to. We are so grateful to the Wadsworth for making our special day VERY SPECIAL! We can't wait to return in the future for public events. -

Jenna Sent on 11/30/2016Wadsworth Mansion was the perfect location for my wedding ceremony and reception! It is a stunningly beautiful venue that is both grand and intimate at the same time. The staff is also lovely. Jessica was my coordinator, and throughout the process she was on top of everything, answering all of my questions speedily and with extremely helpful details and suggestions. Natalie was the on-site coordinator for the day of, and she did a great job of helping to ensure everything ran smoothly. I'm so glad I chose Wadsworth for our venue; I highly recommend booking with them! -

Courtney Sent on 08/19/2015My husband and I are so happy we had our wedding this past July at The Wadsworth Mansion. It was the perfect venue! I actually went to look at the mansion with a girlfriend and I fell in love with it. The wedding show was being held the following weekend, but due to work I couldn't attend so my fiance actually went alone and he also fell in love with the mansion. It was the only place we looked at and we don't regret it one bit! Jessica was amazing from day one, very helpful and always responded to my questions right away! On our Wedding day we had the pleasure of having Rebecca as our coordinator. She was excellent! Everyone loved her, She made sure the ceremony ran smoothly and made the bridal party was spot on. During the reception she made sure everything was as it should be, as far as I know there were no issues :). Loved every minute at the Mansion, Thanks Rebecca and Jessica! -

Sarah Sent on 09/11/2014Let me tell you, I wanted PERFECTION for my wedding day...and got just that with the help of Wadsworth Mansion! As soon as my fiance and I drove up the long driveway up to Wadsworth Mansion, I knew this was our venue. I was floored by the Mansion and grounds-keeping and how much more beautiful they were than the pictures online. We met with Jessica Hess, and let me tell you, she was amazing (she always called me her Princess Bride ;)). If the mansion can't sell you on having your wedding there, the staff will! She was an absolute joy to work with and I can't imagine going through this process without her there. Our coordinator for the wedding day was Deborah; she was awesome and did an excellent job coordinating everything. I STRONGLY recommend scheduling a tour of the venue; it'll leave a lasting impression! -

Jennifer Sent on 07/08/2013Fell in love with this beautiful venue, but when we met with the staff and went over all of the details they really made everything so simple and effortless. They were so wonderful, always reminding us of things when needed and kept in constant contact as we approached our wedding date. On our actual wedding day, they were extremely organized, professional, accommodating, friendly and very patient. Our wedding day would not have been the success that it was without the great people of the Wadsworth Mansion. Thanks again for making our wedding day so wonderful! -

We had our wedding at Wadsworth on July 9, a Friday evening. At first I was hesitant of having our wedding at the estate, due to how popular the venue is. There was not an ounce of hesitation after our first tour. The venue is absolutely INCREDIBLE! The team that works with you to make sure your day is going to go smoothly are all the best. We worked with Megan and Catie who were both wonderful! Catie was with us the whole time throughout the day making sure things stayed on schedule and worked with me in perfecting our floor plans and timeline, etc.

Beautiful!
The Wadsworth Mansion speaks for itself. The venue matched our vision perfectly - classic & elegant. The staff provided great recommendations on vendors for our wedding, and were prompt in answering our questions. Our photos came out so amazing the mansion provides such a beautiful backdrop! Highly recommend. -

Chelsea Sent on 06/20/2018I just had my wedding here on June 9th of 2018 and all I can say is that this venue was literally everything I ever wanted and needed. The venue itself is BEAUTIFUL and very little needed to be added (nothing would have worked too!) for decorating, truly a beautiful property with everything you would need and they also have a few easy backup plans for a rainy day too! I worked mostly with Jessica, the Director of Events, and she was amazing! She answered all my (annoying) emails right away and was always so pleasant to chat with. She was very clear on all her answers and was very willing to work with me on anything I wanted to change about our plans. They had someone with me the entire day of to help coordinate and maintain the flow of the day which was a dream because I was so distracted there is no way I could have done this without them. Thank you for making my day a dream!

Lauren Sent on 07/12/2011The Wadsworth Mansion is absolutely beautiful. All of my guests are still raving about how beautiful everything was at our wedding. The staff is so easy to contact and willing to accomodate you in any way they can. The only issue that I had was that you only get the place for 8 hours, which includes hours of set up and at least an hour for clean up. I wish it could have been an entire day rental for the amount of money that you pay. Other than that, this is the perfect place to get married! -

Wadsworth Mansion is stunning in any time of year and was a beautiful venue for our wedding. Aside from the beauty and elegance of the space itself (both the mansion and the grounds), we liked the following things
1) The flexibility especially while planning a COVID safe wedding. The mansion offered multiple outdoor ceremony sites, both indoor and outdoor tented dining options, we had a rain plan, and indoor rooms for the bride, groom, guests, grandparents, etc. Ample parking. They even revamped their indoor air circulation in response to COVID-19
2. Responsiveness and day of coordination - came with a mansion coordinator (Catie) who communicated leading up to event, arranged site visits, and assisted the day of. She worked well with our caterer and wedding planner and made sure we got all our items at the end of the night. Worked with our vendors to meet all specs.
3. Wedding planning templates provided by the mansion - to do guest counts, seating charts, etc
4. Location convenient for guests coming from both the North and South
We got so many compliments on our wedding and highly recommend this venue!
