Vybe blew us away! We were considering booking Dart because of their strong recommendation from our planner however their high prices made us hesitate. We wanted a local band, found Vybe, and went to see them live in Oakland before booking them. What we loved so much about them is that they felt like real musicians, jamming and playing great music instead of a "wedding band" phoning it in as it sadly can feel like at times. We booked Vybe and immediately they became one of our most detailed, responsive, thoughtful, and professional vendors. But the day of the wedding was where they SHINED. They brought such energy, joy, and incredible music to our wedding. I cannot thank the band enough. I would HIGHLY recommend them. We are so grateful to have had Vybe Society play at our wedding. Catherine was so help with curating the soulful band we had envisioned for our wedding. We love oldies music and that was such an incredible addition to our wedding reception at Viansa Winery. This company will curate your band needs down to every detail you are looking for from style, aesthetic and culture.
Even now, family and friends are still talking about how great the band was and how much they enjoyed it during our wedding reception. On top of their talent, this company was extremely professional and easy to work with throughout the entire process, which made everything stress-free for us.
We highly recommend Vybe Society to anyone looking to elevate their wedding or event with unforgettable live music to your liking.

Vybe Society was amazing and brought great energy to our wedding! Catherine was very flexible during the planning process, helping us understand the options, and working with our venue to ensure they could support the full 10-piece band. One of our priorities for the wedding was great music and an active dance floor and Vybe Society kept the energy up the entire night! They also worked in a few special request songs into both the reception set list and ceremony backdrop. We had dozens of people tell us after the wedding that the band was amazing and a highlight of the night - we’d recommend them for any event! -

I think all 125 people at our wedding made a point to tell us how great the band was. A good band was at the top of our list and Vybe society WELL EXCEEDED our expectations. Seriously they were SO good! They know so many songs and are open to learning songs you request if they don't already know it. They also have such a fun vibe (no pun intended) about them. The whole group was just so much fun to have at the wedding. If you're on the fence, definitely book them!!! -

We are such huge fans of Vybe Society! We've seen their shows around the Bay Area and knew they'd be the perfect band for our wedding. We specifically requested Danielle as our female vocalist because she crushed "Crazy in Love" which we opened the dance floor with, but truly every musician in the band is extremely talented. We and our guests were on the dance floor all night long. We had people coming up to us at the end up the night and the next day telling us how this is the best wedding band they've seen. We're so happy we had Vybe Society play at our wedding! You will not regret booking them! -

Vybe Society played at our July wedding in Monterey and we couldn't have asked for anything more! They were easy to work with and great at what they do. We hired them to play the reception, but they were also helpful with the ceremony and cocktail hour playlist set-up. Their talent and energy got people on the dance floor and kept them there all night! They also generously let some of our relatives sit in on a couple of songs. We would hire them again in a heartbeat and recommend others do the same. -

Thank you so much to Vybe society for absolutely CRUSHING it at our wedding. We had a really hard time picking a band, youtube and website videos can only do so much! We are music lovers who really wanted people grooving and rocking out all night and Vybe Society did just that and MORE. The dance floor was absolutely electric! We had the opportunity to talk about our music taste and our vision for the night prior but when it came down to it, the band was totally reading the room and giving the people what they wanted in the moment and we couldn't have asked for anything better.
Thank you to Catherine and Lisa for being so easy to work with on the logistics side. Thank you to the band for sharing your incredible talent with us and for putting on such an epic show. Vybe Society was the first band we listened to when looking for a wedding band, and it was immediately obvious that they were going to be awesome - and they did not disappoint! The musicians are super talented and they play styles that a variety of people can enjoy. When we had to pivot due to COVID, they were easy to coordinate with and were able to pivot to accommodate our new plans. Everyone LOVED the music! No cheesy wedding tunes, just awesome live music. Vybe Society was amazing!! Five stars isn't enough... they were super easy to work with throughout the planning process - always responsive and organized. They were able to play a wide range of songs and even a couple of new ones. They also went above and beyond to accommodate my 84-yr old grandfather to play our first dance song by bringing and setting up a special keyboard. Vybe Society were absolutely incredible! We hired them for ceremony (solo guitar), cocktail hour (trio), and reception (6 piece band). We loved all of the songs they played and they even learned multiple songs including our first dance song (which wasn't easy!) and the song I wanted to walk down the aisle to. They were so professional, making sure they stayed at the right decibel level for our venue and making sure they ended at the correct time despite all of the guests PLEADING for an encore. Our venue was weary of hiring a band as they hadn't done that before, and I really hope they become their go-to group after our wedding!Vybe Society's reply:

Vybe Society was an amazing edition to our wedding and the music was absolutely amazing! All of our guests commented on how good the band was and everyone was dancing all night. Vybe Society covered all music and MCing throughout the wedding (ceremony music and microphones, cocktail hour live music, wedding announcements during the reception, and live music for dancing during the reception) and did a flawless job with everything. Catherine was so great to work with and was more than accommodating when we had to move our date twice due to covid restrictions. I cannot recommend Vybe Society enough! You get so much for what you pay for and they are worth every penny! We cant wait to get the opportunity to use them again! -

We hired three musicians for our ceremony and cocktail hour and they were absolutely incredible! My husband worked directly with Catherine - from rescheduling our 2020 wedding to going over song selection, to planning through what we were going to do when the weather forecast indicated heavy rain and wind for our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space - she was responsive and great to work with. Everyone loved the band and we would 1000% recommend them. -

When I began planning my wedding, I knew the one thing I really wanted to have was a stellar live band. My friends and I love dancing, and love good music, but I've been to many events where the live band was not great, and that can also really kill the mood. Therefore, if it was going to be live, I knew it had to be good, and Vybe Society was great! We ended up postponing our wedding by a year due to Covid and also had to cancel the after-party which we had also planned to have them help DJ. They were really flexible about these changes and easy to communicate with. They shared a song list which made it easy to pick our favorites and they were also able to learn some songs for the walk down the aisle. I recommend going all out if you are hiring them and getting the horns! It makes it so much fun. All of our guests were raving about how great the band was and how much fun they had dancing. They were definitely one of the memorable parts of our special day. -

This band was absolutely $%^#ING fantastic and honestly MADE OUR WEDDING at Travis Marina in Sausalito, CA this September 2021 and I am sad its over. I just want to have another party or event so I can book and hear this band again. The Vybe society played a jazz trio set in the downstairs lounge during cocktail hour. Then one of the lead vocalists MC'ed the dinner portion and introduced all the toasts. and THEN the band BURNED IT DOWN and probably created the best dance floor energy I have ever seen at a wedding so far. In the upstairs in the bar, we COULD NOT STOP DANCING. They played 3 sets, all upbeat, and I was so elated. The dance floor was NEVER empty and I haven't stopped buzzing since. I am so grateful to this band and wish I could have hugged each musician individually to thank them for truly making my wedding unforgettable. They also allowed me to come up and sing Proud Mary with them and it was a blast. Catherine was wonderful about being in touch and communicating with me about all of our needs for the event, and the band executed the first dance songs beautifully as well. The lead singers were GREAT at engaging the crowd and they were GREAT DANCERS! I loved when they would go into the crowd and be sassy and get people dancing! If anyone in the SF Bay Area is looking for a soulful, booty shaking, joy explosion of a band, THIS is the band. I loved loved LOVED this band , as did all of our guests and I would rate them 11 out of 10. The Vybe Society is FIRE and you need them for your event!! I LOVED THEM. Let me start by saying that I am probably one of the pickiest people alive when it comes to singing and live performances, I am extremely critical. When our original band canceled only a few months before our wedding I panicked because having an amazing band was one of our top priorities for our wedding day. But Vybe Society saved the day! Not only were they miraculously available, they were organized, extremely talented, affordable and reliable. We really wanted a Motown/Funk vibe and boy did they deliver. They surprised us with an additional singer! At no additional cost! and two singers toured with Sly and the Family Stone! ARE YOU KIDDING ME! All I wanted to do during my wedding was listen to them and watch them preform, even when I was too tired to dance. I couldn't even keep track of the number of people who came up to me during and after the wedding telling how amazing the band was and where we found them. I am already thinking of excuses or events I can plan so that I can book them again. BOOK THEM! YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT! -

Hiring Vybe Society was the BEST decision we made for our wedding; not only were they super communicative leading up to our wedding day but they were also very adaptable when our plans had to change due to COVID. I was thrilled that they took the time to learn our "first dance" song, since it wasn't very common and sent us a clip to hear it before our big day. Their song choices were always on-point and kept everyone on the dance floor. Top notch musicians and AMAZING vocals. Needless to say, this has been a trying time for all of us. We considered rescheduling our event to next year and Vybe Society was happy to move the date, no charge. What a relief! In the end, we decided to do an intimate wedding (200 guests to 50) and change our original plans. We went from a 10-piece band with string quartet down to a 5-piece band. Even though we were spending less than the original deposit, Catherine and Tasche were completely accommodating and offered to refund us the difference. Such integrity! With all that said, the music was awesome! Since we could not do typical "dancing" and be close with everyone, we opted to have the pods of tables dance among themselves. Now this might have been challenging but, but, because of the band's talent and energy, it worked out perfectly! In this trying time for everyone, we could not have asked for a better experience with Vybe Society! If you are uncertain about hiring a band during this crazy time, do not worry about hiring them! We recommend them a million times over! -

Tasche and the band are professional, talented, and versatile musicians. They have a great sound and put together killer arrangements (full horn section!). The BEST wedding band!!
Vybe Society was incredible, and completely surpassed expectations for our wedding at Nestldown on the 21st night of September, 2019. They absolutely crushed “September” by Earth, Wind and Fire, which was a mainstay of our wedding music, given the day. They nailed all special requests, improvised impressively, and just created an all-around amazing vibe (pun intended :) Our guests raved about how fun our dance floor was, and that credit is for Vybe Society!
We are so grateful to have had Vybe Society, led by Luq and Katie as the lead singers. Everyone involved did a stellar job, and we only wish we could have kept the party going longer. Vybe Society was simply AWESOME. Found them on Gigmaster, went to see them play in Oakland at a happy hour event, then booked them for our wedding party. We booked the 5-piece (drums, keyboard (vocals), bass, guitar, vocals), and they exceeded our best expectations. With that set up, the band was able to play extensively throughout their repertoire. We just asked them to play from their repertoire, but they were willing to learn a new song or two. The male keyboardist it seems typically sings, and he was good, but we added a female vocalist (Sage) for wider range--well worth it! For pre-band time and intermission we shared with them a Spotify playlist of our own design and kept the beats flowing. On the management side, Vybe was super responsive and easy to work with. Finally, all the musicians were super friendly and enthusiastic. Would book Vybe again in a heartbeat!! -

Vybe Society played at our wedding in Lincoln, CA in October and everything about the band and the process was so easy and amazing. Catherine was responsive (within mins/hours) and was open to everything and anything we asked. One request we had was for a special first dance song that had just hit the radio, and the band was happy to learn the song and sing it live!! The moment was perfect and truly made everything so special. Everyone was on time, set up, and they made the party. We had SO many positive comments from our guests and even my dad, who was very hesitant to have a live band, STILL talks about how great Vybe Society was at our wedding. The variety of music and talent is unmatched and we cannot thank them enough for truly being the ‘cherry on top!!’ Plus, as a bonus, Catherine took videos and pictures and shared them with us!! Vybe Society was absolutely incredible! They handled sound for four different locations across our venue's property (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing), and everything went off without a hitch.
Communication was a little slow at times leading up to the big day, which made us a bit nervous—but as we got into the final week, it became clear that they had everything fully under control. The day-of execution was seamless.
The dance floor was packed all night. We had an absolute blast, and so many of our guests told us how amazing the music was! Having a live band made the night feel so special, and Vybe Society truly exceeded our expectations. -

Hiring Vybe Society may have been the best decision we made for our wedding (other than saying "I do" of course).
Having been to many weddings I had always noticed the difference on the dance floor and with the wedding energy between a live band and a DJ. While there's no doubt you will save some money with a DJ, a great live band will likely be the highlight of the evening or even weekend.
There are a lot of wedding bands out there, but none compare to Vybe Society. At least none in Northern California. Having worked at a live music venue and booked bands, I can confidently say that Vybe Society has the talent to do anything that artists on the Billboard Top 100 do.
In case you still haven't reached out to Vybe Society here are a couple more reasons...
1) They are willing to learn just about anything you ask and it made our first dance so much more special.
2) The variety in configurations the offer, from small standard set ups to entire horn sections is so nice.
3) Day of they were professional, super easy to work with, and so gracious to our guests the whole night.
Be careful, this band is busy and does book up. Make sure you get your date scheduled and be patient as the weeks lead up to the special day. Just know that everything, even what may seem like a pretty penny, will be worth it ten times over.

We really wanted live music at our wedding and we saw a LOT of wedding bands in our search-- we can't recommend Vybe Society enough!!! They are so great and reasonably priced. We were able to choose the size and instruments we wanted, and provided our dream song list, and they recommend the best vocalists for your choices. Dale and Katie were incredible!!

Vybe society was absolutely incredible at our wedding. So many people told us that Vybe Society were their favorite part of the wedding, and they absolutely rocked the dance floor. Even the catering staff were dancing at the end of the night! Working with the band was easy ahead of time, and even though we booked them sight unseen (thanks Covid), we were confident that we were in good hands.
They learned our first dance song and played it beautifully as well. We also hired them as a brass band to play during our cocktail hour, and we worked with Catherine to have the same musicians play in both bands, making it a great value. Both bands were incredible. We couldn't have been happier with them, and honestly I'm trying to figure out how to have another party just so we can dance with Vybe Society again. Highly recommended!!Vybe Society's reply:

Vybe Society made our wedding a night to remember!
We worked with Vybe Society over two nights of our wedding. Catherine was very knowledgable and helped us understand the right package for us, and the whole team was very flexible as we figured out we'd need two nights of support instead of one! The first night was actually just for a mic set up during our ceremony and some pre recorded music over dinner. It was really important to us that our guests could hear us during the ceremony and the mic and speaker set up was FLAWLESS despite being in the middle of a field! The team really figured it out and I was so grateful to not be worrying about static or the sound cutting in and out on this special day. The second night we hired them as a band and as a DJ add on! The live music was AMAZING, truly. Our guests loved it and they sounded amazing. The team was again flexible as we figured out the best set up for them in our family barn, and we feel really lucky to have worked with them. The DJ was a fun way to end the night and we all had a great time dancing. The team came out for a site visit and was easy to work with! My only advice for other couples here is I wish we had taken the time to make a specific playlist for the DJ to play, he played great songs but the hour flew by and there were some songs we wish we would have more specifically asked for. Additionally, as compared to some of our other vendors, Vybe Society sometimes took longer to get back to us during the contracting phase - but the level of service and quality of work was so great we are really grateful to have worked with them! I hired Vybe Society to play at my wedding recently and the band was amazing! The musicians were super talented and put on a great performance. They really got the party going and got all the guests out on the dancefloor. They also provided beautiful instrumentals during my ceremony and cocktail hour. I got so many compliments after the wedding on how great the band was. They truly helped to make my wedding special and unforgettable. The band management was a little difficult to communicate with in that I had to reach out to them multiple times to get a response to simple questions. This happened a few times. But honestly the band itself was so good that I'm still giving them five stars despite the fact that communication during the planning period could have been better. In the end it all worked out so well though, I would highly recommend hiring this band for your event! -

VYBE has the groove retention tactics in full effect. They bring the heat. They did a great job playing specific song requests that we made in advance, particularly the songs that were played when my wife and I walked down the aisle--including vocals! Catherine, the event coordinator, was incredible. So kind, responsive, and accommodating. My only two critiques are that their sets seemed short. I would have liked to have gotten more music from them. And I was disappointed that they were unable to play a song I requested during our reception that I thought would have been a guarantee because I put it on our pre-questionnaire, and it is a song (Learn How to Love You by TTB) that is on their own repertoire of songs list. -

We hired Vybe Society for our wedding largely because of their strong reviews and relatively low cost. While they are talented musicians, their lack of professionalism and reliability caused major disruptions on a day that should have gone smoothly.
During the ceremony, the groom’s processional song wasn’t played until he was halfway down the aisle. Even more upsetting, the bride’s processional included the only verse we had clearly instructed them to skip due to inappropriate lyrics—despite providing written guidance months in advance.
At the reception, we had two choreographed dances, including one involving all 120 of our guests. The band repeatedly assured us they could perform the songs true to the original tracks. Instead, they delivered an improvised version that didn’t match the choreography. When we asked them to switch to a CD version, they refused to hand over control of the speakers. This led to a visibly tense and embarrassing confrontation in front of our guests.
Though their lower price point may appeal to some, the cost savings came at the expense of coordination, professionalism, and respect for our planning. If precision and a smooth guest experience are priorities, we suggest spending more for a more dependable band or sticking with a DJ.Vybe Society's reply:

We care deeply about each couple’s vision and were happy to adjust our pricing to work within your budget. This was done thoughtfully and in good faith, never at the expense of our professionalism or commitment to quality.
In terms of the ceremony music, our musician was fully prepared to begin at the agreed-upon cue from your planner, which unfortunately never came. Additionally, our recommendation to position the musician at the designated “Lookout Point” was not followed. As a result, he had to walk through standing guests because of a lack of chairs, along a narrow beach shore to return to the sound system, causing a delay that could have been avoided with proper recommended placement.
Regarding your choreographed dances, we strongly advised using the original rehearsal track to ensure perfect synchronization. We did in both in our pre-event communications and in the planning questionnaire. Despite this, we honored your request for a live performance, which was delivered with musical accuracy and professionalism. Naturally, live renditions may differ slightly from studio recordings, especially when the exact instrumentation is not part of the contracted package.
We’d also like to shed light on an important aspect of the evening that seems to have been omitted. Both our lead vocalist and sound engineer chose not to eat their meals in order to help bring the timeline back on track, as the event had fallen significantly behind. Despite this extra effort and commitment, our lead vocalist was yelled and screamed at by you during her performance, while you appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. Even under these circumstances, she remained calm and professional.
Our team arrived fully prepared, responsive, and eager to support your day. While not every recommendation we gave was implemented, we stand by the care, professionalism, and dedication we brought to every step of the process.

By all accounts, one reading this webpage would be persuaded to hire Vybe Society for any event; indeed, the 5-star reviews certainly convinced me to hire Vybe Society for my wedding. Unfortunately, the reviews on this page, while painting a rosy picture of what happens when things go well, do not provide a complete picture of what happens when things go poorly. To be sure, that is completely understandable, as many couples may not want to relive their negative experiences by recounting them in a review. The pain of suffering through those harrowing details from my wedding day is what kept me from writing this review sooner. However, I feel compelled to offer my perspective to those who find themselves in my position now or in the future; I know personally how important it is to make informed decisions when it concerns your wedding day. Above all, it is important to find vendors who place the client’s goals and vision above all else, and who pride themselves in a professionalism and accountability towards their work. That professionalism and accountability was lacking in Vybe Society’s performance on my wedding day, and in how they have handled our interactions thereafter.
Vybe Society’s blunders on my wedding day include embarrassing both my husband and me by failing to play either of our aisle songs as we began walking down the aisle; indeed, each of us was over halfway down the aisle before the band began either of our songs. For my aisle song in particular, the band failed to honor the specific clip we specified in advance, which further humiliated us as the band continued onto awkward lyrics from the song we were hoping to avoid. This happened again during our grand entrance song, when the band failed to cut the song off before explicit lyrics were shared with our guests. Making matters worse, the band did not honor the specific clips we requested for both our first and second dances as a couple, which was especially problematic as the band was informed that we had prepared choreographed dances for both; instead, the band—without informing us—elected its own version of both songs, which made it difficult for us to perform dances we had spent months rehearsing (including with our entire extended families). My husband had to plead repeatedly for the band to simply play the original track—a fact that Vybe Society later shamefully twisted around to suggest that he was inebriated. The icing on the wedding cake is that we had zero dance floor music that evening—when asked whether the band would afford us a few additional minutes of live music, they declined.
Ultimately, Vybe Society’s attention to our wedding day speaks for itself; every detail that was specified in advance was missed and there was zero indication that the band had reviewed any part of the lengthy questionnaire they insisted I complete (months in advance, at that). Nor were we informed in advance that any one of those details would be challenging or infeasible; to the contrary, Vybe Society assured us that everything was doable. When we confronted Vybe Society afterwards, they refused any accountability for our wedding music, instead blaming the wind, other vendors, our guests, and me and my husband. They also offered belated excuses, such as that they advise people to use original tracks for choreographed dances (even though they actively advertise their ability to play choreographed dances live, and specifically assured me that our dances were “definitely doable”). Worse still, they insulted us when we attempted to resolve our disagreement amicably. Perhaps the biggest disappointment—one that is particularly troubling—is that the band prevented us from enjoying the moment with our people during our special day; I spent precious moments of my wedding day in tears, humiliated by the missed cues, delayed songs, and other failings of the band. If I could do it over, the band is the only thing I would change.
Professionalism means to have care and attention to important details when providing a service, and, equally important, to hold oneself accountable when that work product falls below the mark. If you are looking for these qualities for your special day, Vybe Society is unlikely the right choice for you.Vybe Society's reply:

Regarding your request for a full refund in exchange for a five-star review, we want to address this openly. While we value every client’s satisfaction, we felt that agreeing to this would have been both dishonest and unethical. We expected that a review like this might follow, but we stand by our commitment to integrity and transparency in all our interactions.
As for the event itself, we offered several recommendations based on our professional experience to help ensure the day flowed smoothly. Unfortunately, each of those recommendations was declined. As a result, what we feared might happen did in fact occur on your wedding day.
Also to clarify, we never declined to play longer. We actually said we would perform a few more songs even though your event had already exceeded the venue’s contracted hard stop.
However, during the performance of the first song of that set, after the venue’s designated stop time, your husband, who seemed very inebriated, came on the stage multiple times and used aggressive and profane language toward our female vocalist while she was performing. This behavior was not only deeply concerning to her but also shocking to the entire band. In light of this, we made the difficult decision to stop the live performance and transition to the recorded version of the song for safety reasons before proceeding to pack up.
We understand that weddings are emotionally charged events, but the conduct we experienced was both unprecedented and unacceptable. It is regrettable that this situation unfolded the way it did.
Please know that our intent was never to cause disappointment. We truly wish we could have created a better experience for you. As always, we remain committed to learning from every event to continually improve our services.
