    I cannot say enough wonderful things about Vivian and her work! We had a small intimate Palo Alto wine bar/restaurant wedding in July. I hired Vivian while I was still living in Atlanta- I had seen some of her photos online and loved her style. I was nervous at first to hire someone without meeting them in-person, but Vivian was great over the phone and we talked about what would work best for our space and the atmosphere we were trying to create. Our main goal was to have beautiful portraits not just of us as a couple, but also of our friends and family. We wanted our wedding album to feel different from the usual cookie-cutter wedding photos that we had seen at so many other weddings. She did not disappoint! She has an excellent eye for subtle details that capture special moments and give each photo a unique feel. We loved the different angles she chose and the precise styling she put us in for each photo. Both of our families are thrilled with all of the photos and were so happy that we were able to give each couple a beautiful portrait as a thank you gift. We hope to work with Vivian again- she will be our first choice for portraits when we start our family down the road! She really is the best!

    My All Time Favorite Pictures

    I am in the middle of posting my all time favorite photo on instagram & decided it was important to share my experience with newly engaged couples in the Bay Area looking for that special photographer. You have found her. I was lucky enough to be a vendor working with Vivian at a wedding in Paso Robles more than 4 years ago. I am a Photobooth owner and work lots of weddings and are actually photographers ourselves. This is the only time I have experienced work like this. Most wedding photographers have a hard time taking action shots or do not love taking them. The average couple will not receive good photos of their guests at the ceremony and the reception. The photos you do receive are definitely not framable or insta worthy. Vivian was able to capture the most amazing photos of the guests interacting with our booth and the guestbook. We saw all of the photos from this wedding and we were not the only people that she made look fantastic. The bride and groom like us still show those pictures all over social media. They are timeless. If you are planning a wedding full of emotion (crying during the ceremony, laughing during the speeches, and living it up during the reception) there is no one better to capture these moments. I wish every couple got this lucky.

    My husband and I found Vivian when we were searching for a wedding photographer last year. After months of research, we came across Vivian's work and was amazed by her editorial and vintage-inspired style as well as her unique vision in capturing the most important moments. Her art, which spans across personal (weddings, family, portraits, etc) as well as corporate (editorials, print, product, etc) work is truly exceptional.

    Vivian is also an amazing person with incredible work ethic. We knew we were going to work with her as soon as we met her- she was warm, smart, humble, and a great listener. Most importantly, she really cares about her clients.

    On the day of our wedding, Vivian was efficient, professional, and caring. Her vision was really unique- her work never looks generic, and it always different from other photos of the same venue. She doesn't do the generic poses/shots so if you really want those, you should ask her. We loved the fact that her vision and work was really unique (see attached pictures) so it was perfect for us. The final work was stunning and we're still getting compliments a year later!

    We loved working with her so much that we asked her to do our maternity/paternity shoot a year later. Again, excellent work there too!

    We could not recommend her more strongly, she is the best investment we've made!!!

    It can be a daunting task searching for the right people to make your wedding day a perfect one. Choosing a photographer is one of the most important decisions you may make when planning for your wedding considering these pictures are everlasting mementos of the big day. I have loved Vivian's work from early on, and knew that she would be on the top of my list.

    "A picture is worth a thousand words." This is so true with many of the pictures from our engagement session and wedding day...each with its own style. My husband and I had a fun and laid back engagement session. Vivian was able to accommodate our limited availability and location ideas. We did not know how to pose, but she made us comfortable and gave us helpful direction. Many of the pictures are some of our family's favorites!

    My husband and I were married in September. When we received our wedding pictures... oh my... we absolutely LOVED them! THANK YOU, Vivian, for capturing the joy, tiny details, and the overwhelming love we felt that day! Vivian truly has the eye for lighting, backdrops, and camera angles. There were things from the wedding we did not remember. We were ecstatic to see those special moments perfectly captured for us to reminisce and swoon over. Vivian and Mark, her second photographer, did such an amazing job! Super talented individuals and an outstanding team. Both are super sweet, funny, attentive, hard working and very professional. The pictures are simply breathtaking! They made us laugh, cry, and left us in awe. So much to look at, too :) We can't wait to share them with family, friends, and the world!

    This is Vivian at VSP and we just wanted to make a note that one of the reviews is fake and slanderous: "Mike on 8/31/2013." On August 13, 2013, we never shot a wedding for a groom named Mike. We photographed a couple named Jee and John that day.

    Vivian did such a good job at our Wedding we decided to hire her to take baby pictures recently. Her work on both occasions was amazing.

    Vivian Sachs was the photographer for my wedding, and my experience with her was amazing all-around! She had a great eye for catching those impromptu shots of people that really capture the mood and emotion of the event. She also provided great suggestions for clever and artistic posed shots, as well as the more traditional ones.

    I've never been comfortable in front of the camera, and was not sure how I would like being photographed so much for my wedding. But I didn't need to worry, because Vivian put me right at ease, as she directed me and my husband to many beautiful shots! She is warm, friendly, funny, and professional.

    In addition to her eye for taking great shots, she is also a master at the post processing and color modification, producing brilliant variations of the photos that are as much art as they are reminders of a great day. The colors are so vibrant...I would display her work even if didn't have me in it! ;-)

    We had hired Vivian for our wedding and she stole our deposit and did not take pictures for our wedding nor returned our calls and emails for the return of our deposit. So unprofessional. DONT HIRE HER!!!! We have since had to take her to court.

    I reached out to Vivian for our wedding. She was very responsive at first and had no problem answering any questions of mine. We decided to go ahead and book her. She said she was drafting a contract and would have it to us soon.
    At that time we had told other photographers we were going ahead with her as our photographer.
    Then she went completely M.I.A. A week went by, I figured she was busy, so I sent her a Facebook message. No response. All the while she was still updating her Facebook page...
    I called her and she never answered, or did she call me back.
    I was so angry, especially since we had told our #2 photographer pick we were no longer interested when Vivian said she would be our photographer.
    If you want someone who will ignore you and be unprofessional then hire Vivian.

    Vivian was responsive and great during the booking process. She was flexible, and quickly responded to emails. However, after the contract was signed, it was all downhill from there. Emails now usually take 3-5 days for a response. Scheduling an engagement session was like pulling teeth. She did not return emails nor phone calls, and only provided 2 days out of 3 months that she was available. None of them were weekends, so we had to take a day off from work just for a 2 hour engagement session.

    Come wedding time, it was even worse. She did not answer emails because she was busy with other weddings. We tried to plan a pre-wedding meeting to go over scheduling, logistics, etc... but she did not show up. So we were not quite on the same page come wedding day.

    After the wedding was over, it took nearly 6 months to receive our pictures. Every time we emailed her for updates, we were lucky if we received a response that said, "your wedding photos were taken during peak season. Therefore it will take at least 5 months for your photos to be ready". The photos were not even that good and no where close to what she showed us in her portfolio. Also, if she does not like your photos, she will now put your photos on social media. Which is fine with me, but also hurtful since it feels that our wedding is not pretty enough to meet her standards.

    If you are ok with a non-responsive and late photographer, then go ahead and book Vivian. Of all the vendors that I worked with during the wedding, she is by far the worst, and my biggest regret.
