Highly recommend

The cakes are delicious! Everybody is friendly and patient with our rescheduling because of Covid. A big surprise was the extra cake as a thank you in addition to the anniversary cake.

So Disappointed

We recently got married and had Virginia make our wedding cake. I wish I could give a glowing review because the taste of the cake was incredible. However, they dropped the cake off at the venue and completely neglected to add the flowers! They say the florist should have done it, but she came hours before them and left the flowers right next to the cake. Why would they not add them? The cake is YOURS to decorate; you don’t need a florist for that. Virginia knew in our original meeting I wanted flowers so this was no surprise. This was actually the only thing that went wrong the day of the wedding. I was devastated. My bridesmaid came to the rescue though and added the flowers. I absolutely would not recommend this place for a wedding cake.

We regret that the flowers were not placed on your cake the day of your wedding as you had expected by your florist. As stated in your review we did discuss [and noted on the order, copied to you] the placement of your flowers by the florist during the consultation as well as the delivery time of the cake. Also discussed [and noted on your copies] was the option of Virginia's Cakes placing your flowers. This service is offered because many florists leave without a designation of who will complete your cake with the flowers. The obligation in this instance was the agreement with your florist since you had not arranged for the cake delivery to include the floral service as a part of our delivery process.
We know your wedding day is one of the most special days of your life and emotions run high. Planning is the key and that is why all these things were discussed, copied to you in consultation and what makes for less stress overall.
We strive to please our customers in every way possible. And especially our brides. We spoke with Jessica today and she was cordial. Our best to you and yours.

Yummy and delicious!

Cakes are delicious!

They were excellent about designing our cakes and catering to our requests and needs. They were very flexible compared to most people that we talked to. The cakes were delicious and exactly what we were looking for. They were reliable and showed up on time with exactly what we were wanting.
They do have significant price jumps for wedding cakes versus regular cakes. I still would choose them because everyone else does that same and this was worth it for the cost.

Wedded Bliss

Everyone at Virginia's Cakes was professional, prompt, and kind. The cakes are to die for. Beautifully designed and taste like heaven. I couldn't be happier with our 4 tier cake, the flavors were delicious. Virginia goes above and beyond to make sure you get what you want. They also have a delicious cafe which could supply you with a candy bar, other desserts, and day of prep items for your bridal party.

Best tasting cakes!

Virginia's cakes are amazing! I remember when she was doing her cakes out of her house! She has came such a long way! Get in a get a tasting, she did a 4 tier birthday cake for my daughter that was out of this world! I can't wait to see what she will do for the wedding!

We had 1 tasting for my daughter's wedding cake prior to Virginia's. At the tasting, the first bite was heavenly as well as the rest! She chose the tuxedo cake and white cake with strawberry creme cheese filling. There was no cake left at the end of the night, the tuxedo was the star! The cake was beautiful and exactly what my daughter envisioned!

We had 1 tasting for my daughter's wedding cake prior to Virginia's. At the tasting, the first bite was heavenly as well as the rest! We absolutely loved both the wedding cake & grooms cake. They turned out exactly how we pictured! They tasted amazing! And, the little honeymoon cake was so cute! Will definitely use again!

Delicious and beautiful! We had a consultation with Virginias Cakes before we booked to pick our cake and filling. They were very helpful in the process. The cake had the simple and elegant look we wanted, and tasted delicious!

Too perfect. The cake was so good, my guests wanted to take some home. We had 3 cakes. Bridal, grooms cake and my daughter had a little cake. All 3 we gorgeous. I didn't even know what i wanted, but Virginia helped me decide. The most difficult was my husband's round Bb-8 Droid cake. It was amazing. We already decided to order birthday cake from Virginia.

Too perfect. The cake was so good, my guests wanted to take some home. We had 3 cakes. Bridal, grooms cake and my daughter had a little cake. All 3 we gorgeous. I didn't even know what i wanted, but Virginia helped me decide. The most difficult was my husband's round Bb-8 Droid cake. It was amazing. We already decided to order birthday cake from Virginia.

There's no doubt about it, Virginia is an amazing baker. Her cakes taste fantastic. I received so many compliments on the taste of both our wedding cake and groom's cake. It's moist, it's flavorful, and it's all buttercream - no icky fondant!

Luckily I wanted a simple wedding cake (spatula finish with a flower topper). If I were looking for more of a decorator, I probably would have gone with someone else. As she told us herself, "there's a difference between a cake decorator and a cake baker." She's right, and we actually chose not to book another cake vendor because while she was truly an artist, her cake was only mediocre in taste. I love cake so much that I couldn't bear to serve something that looked beautiful but didn't taste very good. So we went with Virginia and I'm so glad we did.

One thing to keep in mind - Virginia opened a storefront within the last couple of years, so things are a bit disorganized (as they tend to be with any new business). We had to make multiple trips to the store to get our order right and make sure we could taste the right cakes. They didn't have the flavors we requested ready for our first appointment - it seemed the woman who answered the phone was not Virginia and didn't write down which flavors we wanted to try. But it was all worth it. She made us a wedding cake with alternating lemon and special white layers. Her special white is delicious. She made a red velvet and cream cheese icing groom's cake for my husband who has pretty narrow cake tastes. The design on his cake (a logo from his unit in the Aggie marching band) looked fantastic. Taste and simple elegance were our goals, so Virginia's Cakes was the perfect vendor for us.

We're still eating our refrigerated leftover cake a week and a half later and it tastes SO GOOD.

Virginia's Bakery made a beautiful, and delicious wedding cake for us and made it exactly how we imagined it to be. We also had a dessert bar with delicious assorted baked goods and desserts and they were perfect! They even sent us home with a one year anniversary wedding cake like the original!

I cannot say enough great things about Virginia's Cakes. They did a fabulous job on our wedding cakes and even sent a little honeymoon cake home with us since we didn't really get a chance to enjoy cake at the reception. Their white cake is hands down the best I have ever had!!! They were super helpful and accommodating, we really loved working with them.

I would highly recommend Virginia's Cakes for your wedding! My entire family has been using Virginia's Cakes for a long time now. She even made both of my sisters wedding cakes!
She did an amazing job on my wedding cake! It was so beautiful and delicious! Seriously some of the best cake I've ever had!

Virginia's Cakes captured my vision for my wedding cake right away. We had a unique request: create 30 9" cakes for our centerpieces. Our wedding was two days after Christmas, and Virginia did not pause at this demanding order right at Christmas time. Not only were our cakes personally delivered by Virginia herself 30+ miles from her bakery, but they were absolutely beautiful and incredibly tasty!!! Guests were seriously raving about the cakes for weeks. Virginia was an absolute pleasure to work with, and you will be shocked at the value you get for her handiwork at such a reasonable price.

Virginia makes the best cakes you've ever tasted. She made my sister's wedding cake and groom's cake, and my wedding cake and groom's cake. Not only are her cakes delicious, she listens to whatever design dream you have and makes it happen. My wedding cake looked like Mexican embroidery for my Mexican wedding. My grooms cake was a replica of my husband's dog wearing a poncho and a sombrero. My sister's cake was beautifully piped and traditional, while her groom's cake was a dumpster complete with candy garbage and banana peels. She is the best cake designer in Houston!

I would recommend Virginia's cakes to anyone for their wedding. I was able to create my own wedding cake design from start to finish. I also got a complimentary honeymoon cake. My cake was elegant and yet fulfilling for my wedding party. I had many compliments. I knew the cake was good because there was nothing left of the cake. That made me very happy.

Delicious wedding cake from Virginia's! I received so many compliments on the wedding cake and grooms cake. Both cakes were gorgeous and professional, and the staff is very friendly. All-around great experience.

My husband and I got a wedding cake and a grooms cake from Virginia. They were very helpful during the tasting process and on the wedding day, the cakes came out so beautifully. Everything we could have ever wanted! The lines were so clean, nothing was out of place or clumpy. Not to mention the cake itself was delicious and moist. One of our guests said that the carrot cake was the best he'd ever had in his life. Will definitely be going back for cakes in the future!
