We loved working with Mallory! From just a couple of conversations, she understood exactly what we were going for and brought it beautifully to life. We had an early summer garden wedding, and her team’s wildflower bouquets, chuppah, and elegant-but-relaxed table décor perfectly captured the magical, fairy vibe we were hoping to conjure.
Mallory was very familiar with our venue (Evergreen Museum & Library), and her expertise and confidence were reassuring throughout the process. She went above and beyond, even helping us think through our color scheme. Her contributions really shaped the vibe of our day and helped us realize our vision.
Mallory is also a poet, and it shows. Everything she creates—from her written descriptions of flowers to the arrangements themselves—feels like poetry. We highly recommend her! -

Mallory and her team did an amazing job creating the most beautiful floral designs we could have asked for at our April wedding at the Evergreen Museum and Library.
As a bride with strong aesthetic opinions but very little knowledge about florals, I wasn’t even sure how much of our budget or time we wanted to put towards flowers. But once we spoke to Mallory and shared our smattering of inspiration photos, she took our preferences and fleshed out a floral vision that spoke to us and captured what we were struggling to articulate.
She was so kind, easy-going, responsive, and creative and her personality was so reassuring–we knew from our interactions that whatever her team created was going to turn out great and be executed with ease. It really allowed me to be hands-off on the decor and let us be surprised by the end result.
From the romantic chuppah design to the simple greenery on our venue’s brick wall to the lovely tablescapes with fruit and candles–they did an incredible job making every part of our wedding look beautiful. We also absolutely loved my bridal bouquet–which was not a priority for me initially–but it turned out so unique and beautiful that it’s one of my favorite parts of the wedding photographs now.
Mallory was a lovely, professional, and extremely capable vendor to work with and we hope other couples can experience her team’s talents at their weddings! -

We can't say enough good things about Violet Floral Designs and highly recommend Mallory, Alyssa, and their team for any event, especially your wedding! My venue had a lot of charm but it was a blank slate and I wanted it to feel like a garden party inside. After talking to a lot of florists I decided to go with Violet Floral Designs because I felt like Mallory listened to my ideas and used my inspiration to make a proposal that truly captured what I was going after. Throughout the design process I started to get more creative and I continually threw new and more challenging installations at Mallory and she was immediately on board with all of it. She went above and beyond by coming with me to my venue walkthrough to discuss my visions and went out of her way to collaborate with my lighting crew to make my floral/disco ball installation become a reality. Unfortunately the week of the wedding Mallory had COVID and couldn't make it to the wedding set-up but she had such an amazing team of helpers, including her right-hand-girl Alyssa, that made my visions come to life without a hitch! All of the guests, including myself, were speechless. Everywhere you looked had floral arrangements that were better than the next. The ceremony and reception area floral installations were beyond my wildest dreams, Mallory took my visions and DELIVERED! Violet Floral Designs truly made my venue feel magical and we couldn't recommend them enough! -

Mallory and Violet Florals provided the flowers for my wedding at Gertrude's. She came highly recommended by my wedding coordinator. My budget was on the lower end ($1500). I was worried she might not put as much care into my flowers as with larger weddings. This was not the case. She and I emailed several times to put together the flower arrangements I wanted.
She nailed it. The bouquet, flower arrangements, and bud vase arrangements were exactly what I wanted. Mallory was a delight to work with. Friendly, responsive, flexible, and non-judgmental. I would recommend her to anyone, regardless of budget. -

We loved Mallory and the Violet Floral team!! We knew very little about florals and didn’t have much of a defined floral vision for our wedding other than some random photos from Pinterest/Instagram and a general sense of our desired “vibe” – yet despite the little guidance, Mallory and her team created a beautiful floral design for our wedding that was somehow exactly what we pictured. Mallory was incredibly kind, thoughtful, and responsive, and made honest recommendations about how to maximize our budget, and we loved her dedication to using local growers whenever possible (my bouquet was all-local, which was so awesome!). Her team delivered our florals promptly and with a warm, welcoming energy that we came to expect of the Violet Floral brand – great vibes for the wedding morning! Couldn’t recommend Violet Floral Designs more! -

Beautiful flowers and decorations
Mallory and her team are amazing!! She perfectly understood my vision for the day, and she definitely delivered. She designed the most gorgeous chuppah and bouquets, and she decorated our tables with wonderful floral arrangements, candles, and vases. Mallory even created a flower necklace for our dog and flower wands for our young nieces and nephews. Also she is just so friendly, responsive, and easy to work with. Highly recommend Mallory for anyone getting married! -

Mallory was incredible. I know virtually nothing about flowers, so on our first call, I basically told her our color scheme and the vision we had for our wedding--and she nailed it. From the initial packet she sent with examples of what she could provide in our price range and the flowers and greenery she suggested, to sprucing up my bridal bouquet and adding additional flowers right before the ceremony, she and her team were reliable, flexible, and organized. Couldn't have asked for better! -

Mallory is incredible, hire her now!
My husband and I used Violet Floral Designs for our wedding. Mallory is wonderfully creative and absolutely crushed it. She and I had spoken about 3 or 4 large impact floral designs and Mallory managed to pull off aspects of all of these, truly bringing to life the vision in my head I was having difficulty describing. I appreciate her dedication to using locally grown flowers and sustainability in her business. I also really enjoyed the non-traditional elements in her design of our tablescapes -- she did some incredible things with mushrooms that really fit with our moody indoor garden wedding. I cannot recommend Mallory enough, she is so talented and delightful to work with. -

Making Floral Fantasies Come True
Mallory is a super star floral Goddess!! She was able to know exactly what my vision was and her execution was flawless! My wedding was September 4th in Maryland, and if any of you know, it's quite the transitory time of year--- we want it to be fall, but it's still about 80+ degrees. I wanted my flowers to reflect this season of change -- lots of color, but on the warmer side. Mallory nailed it. My guests were in love with her arrangements! From the altar arrangements to the boutonnieres -- everything was perfect. Better yet, she honored my request to only use locally produced flowers! And for the cherry on top? Her prices are absolutely unbeatable. 10/10 recommend her for any and all of your floral needs! We love Mallory! She made my wedding better than my dreams ever could have imagined. -

Mallory of Violet Florals is wonderful and goes above and beyond. She is extremely easy-going and worked closely with me to bring my dreams to life within the budget I set. Her product is so unique and it is obvious that she is very deliberate in choose the BEST stems for the arrangements. I had to postpone my big celebration due to COVID during the summer of 2020 and decided to do an elopement with just me and my husband. She was flexible in moving the celebration date to 2021 and worked with me to provide the bouquet as well as the cake topper for the private ceremony. It was exactly what we discussed AND MORE! I was so happy with them and surprised that such an amazing bouquet with flowers like ranunculus and dahlias could fit in our budget. The dreamiest bouquet ever!
Fast forward one year to our big celebration. Mallory went above and beyond for this big day. Violet Florals listened to all the ideas we had and worked with us to find the perfect arrangement of flowers. she was also very flexible in coming up with a rain plan as the forecast was not favorable for our outdoor ceremony. She even arranged our candles/tapers for all the table settings. She is extremely prompt and responsive for questions leading to the big event. I would definitely recommend her services to anyone getting married, in any setting from elopement to large wedding (I've had experience with her for both!).

I can't recommend Mallory / Violet Floral Designs more highly for your floral needs! Sourcing vendors in the D.C. region can be overwhelming, deflating, and stressful. We initially had a challenging time finding a floral vendor who 1) had availability for our wedding date, 2) serviced the DMV region, 3) was within our price range, and 4) had an aesthetic that fit within our vision and style. Mallory checked all four boxes, and then some!
From the very beginning, Mallory took the time to listen and understand our vision for wedding flowers. Her website displayed examples of her work that aligned with our style and sparked our interest & desire to work with her. And after speaking with Mallory for the first time, her attentiveness, warm and friendly demeanor, and professionalism solidified our choice. We are so grateful we went with Violet Floral Designs!
Not only did the bouquets and floral arrangements throughout the venue reflect what we had discussed and shared with Mallory, but they were even better than we could have imagined. Mallory and her team arranged gorgeous tabletop centerpieces, cascading pieces draping down the venues' fireplaces, bridal party bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, and even assembled and designed our chuppah. The floral designs accentuated the venue's natural and ethereal surroundings, and really set the tone for the evening.
But, beyond Mallory's invoiced work, the thing that stands out is how she went above and beyond in light of a minor issue that came up days before our wedding day. My father--originally from Hawaii--had ordered traditional Hawaiian leis, which were specially packaged and shipped in from Hawaii, directly to Mallory's studio. Just two days before the wedding, the leis arrived, and the lei that was supposed to be my husband's was ruined. Because of the August heat, the lei intended for my husband (ti leaves with white orchids) had arrived soggy and completed wilted. I spent time searching for a Hawaiian lei vendor in the DMV region (lol why did I even try??), but to no avail. We were beginning to come to terms with the idea that we may have to go without the leis during our ceremony, when Mallory came to the rescue. Without skipping a beat. Mallory had jumped to problem-solving, reaching out to her wholesale flower vendor, asking if they had ti leaves. All the while, she started watching Youtube videos on how to make traditional Hawaiian-style "Maile" leis. The day after the leis arrived, Mallory had assured us her flower vendor had ti leaves and that she was confident she could repair my husband's lei in time for the ceremony--all free of charge (!!!).
And on our wedding day, when my dad placed the leis on both my husband and me, I couldn't help but tear up. Not only because of the gravity & emotion of the moment, but because my husband's lei was PERFECT and I knew Mallory had put her heart into rectifying something that was incredibly important to my family and me. What's more, my dad mentioned to me later how impressed he was with Mallory's handiwork. Add "traditional Hawaiian Maile leis" to Violet Floral Design's portfolio of designs!
Overall, Mallory and her team of designers were a WONDER to work with and made our floral dreams come true. Endless thank yous to you all, and especially to Mallory. We will recommend Violet Floral Designs for years to come. Thank you for rounding out our wedding Dream Team! -

Not only is Mallory incredibly talented but she is wonderful to work with. She was incredibly kind to us amidst Covid changes, even offering to make us a complementary bouquet for our small 2020 ceremony. When the logistics (and size) of our event changed, Mallory worked with us to rework our entire quote/design. We gave her a lot of freedom with where to place flowers around the venue day of and it all turned out absolutely beautiful. Bouquets and all other personal flowers were wonderful as well. Hire Violet Floral designs and you won’t regret it! -

Violet florals works wonders! Mallory worked one-on-one with me to pick the prettiest arrangements for our special day. She works with local farms and vendors and uses eco friendly materials. She was so accommodating when we had to change our date twice because pf the pandemic. She even made a special bouquet for me for my tiny ceremony during the pandemic. Even when we realized our venue had a new arbor installed weeks before the wedding she was quick to plan a gorgeous floral design that was perfect! My flower girls felt so magical in their flower crowns too! I loved being surrounded by gorgeous flowers all day! Thank you Mallory!! -

Mallory was AMAZING. With COVID postponing my wedding, she was there to help me a long the entire way. She was very understanding with having to change my large wedding to a smaller romantic wedding and helped me figure out how I could still use my flowers for this date. Beautiful arrangements, lovely person!
Mallory was so flexible and easy to work with, and responsive! I was worried at first because my budget was pretty tight, so I wasn’t sure if that meant my bouquets would be more skimpy. Nope. They turned out GORGEOUS. Exactly what I’d dreamed. Same with the flower crowns. The price point was very reasonable, I only wish I’d had a bigger floral budget to have her do more arrangements! -

Working with Mallory was a dream. Going into wedding planning, I knew nothing about florals and she was so helpful in deciding which blooms and color scheme would match my overall wedding vibe. She was professional, organized and patient (while we asked a lot of questions and kept changing the number of boutonnières).

Mallory was recommended to me by a friend, and she did not disappoint! She's professional, communicative, and creative - the best combination. Mallory was a joy to work with. The process was really easy, she listened to what we wanted and offered great suggestions, and the flowers turned out absolutely beautiful. At first I only had a vague sense of what I was looking for, and she was able to translate a few pictures from the internet into a perfect reality. She was undaunted when I requested a 36-foot eucalyptus garland which, though she had never made one before, turned out beautifully (and dried really nicely and is still on display). The day of our wedding, I had nothing to worry about because she was so organized and professional. Stunning flowers
The flowers Mallory and her team provided for our wedding were absolutely perfect and stunning. I'm still getting compliments about them over a week later. I gave Mallory very, very little guidance, and honestly had no idea what the flowers on the day would look like, and I was blown away. She listened to the (again, very little) guidance I did provide and ran with it and created something beyond my wildest dreams. Thank you Mallory!! -
