Musical tribute

My (now) husband and I have nothing but great things to say about Viol Consort! They played beautifully and, even though the songs we wanted played during our ceremony were not quite yet part of their repertoire, they were able and more than willing to learn them before our big day! In addition, our guests were absolutely transfixed by them! We had so many guests tell us how much they loved them and how they were having such a great time identifying the modern songs Viol Consort was playing. Viol were able to coordinate little more than a week out from our wedding as another musician had to drop out, and yet they came prepared, professional, and played to rave reviews of our guests.
Our photographer was so impressed she asked for the violinist’s information for her own wedding. The violinist called beforehand to get on the same page with our wants, and coordinated with the officiant day of. We were very thankful and impressed!

Viol Consort played at my wedding November 2023 and left a lasting impression on all of our guests. They played for several minutes as the guests were seated and continued on throughout the ceremony. They have a large catalog of songs to choose from. Any song not on their repertoire are also offered so long as the group is given ample time to find the musical arrangement. Sam was so helpful throughout the process in song selection for each part of the program. He was also very accessible for questions and meetings. Most importantly, they were on time! Viol Consort was the perfect choice for my son’s wedding! They played BEAUTIFULLY at the wedding ceremony held at the Gelman Stained Glass Museum and continued at the Palazzio Event Center for the reception. They were set-up at both venues so that there was no elapsed playing time in transition from one venue to the other. The entire ensemble presented themselves professionally and made sure to keep an open line of communication throughout the entire event to ensure every moment was flawless! After a pianist acquaintance of my husband we had hired to play at our wedding ceremony, unexpectedly let us down few days before the big day, I immediately contacted Sam at Viol. We had seen Viol Consort play at a local wedding expo, and fell in love hearing them play a beautiful rendition of The Cranberries "Dreams". I was surprised that Sam replied to my message right away! He put my heart and mind at ease and got me a quote for their services immediately. He had my best interest at heart, and while they were already booked for that day, he made a few calls to ensure I would get the service for my wedding ceremony. While the price of the pianist we had hired was low, so was his customer service skills. Sam at Viol understood my budget, and made a great effort to give me the best price they could. Classy, professional, flexible, great communication. Viol saved my event and my life! I had the most wonderful experience with Viol and I will forever be grateful to them. Fantastic - Highly recommend Viol Consort!
We recently had Viol Consort (one violin and one cello) play music at our small catholic wedding ceremony in south Texas. The music was superb and very memorable. The musicians were able to offer a wide variety of musical options of songs for us to choose from, and we ended up selecting songs like Canon in D, Ave Maria, etc. The musicians even helped out with singing during the responsorial psalm since we had to limit the number of people in the church due to COVID-19.
We really appreciated the musicians arriving ahead of time and also came very well dressed in tuxedos (in spite of the summer heat!).
Finally, in terms of getting everything organized for the event, Sam was extremely well organized, and we really appreciated his flexibility in terms of scheduling our date and coordinating, particularly given the situation with COVID-19.
We would highly recommend Sam and Viol Consort for your wedding or other event. They are really talented musicians and made our wedding feel extra special!

So thankful for this group!
Our wedding was cancelled due to covid, but we still got married! We were able to find another outdoor venue that allowed us to have a small ceremony. Originally we were going to have a string quartet, but Sam was still able to arrange a violin and cello. Christina and Jose did a fabulous job, and I am so grateful to all 3 of them! Viol Consort provided the BEST service there is to offer. Sam was extremely easy to communicate with and kept me updated throughout the process. He even went out of his way and found a wedding singer for me an hour before our wedding was about to start when mine cancelled last minute. He did not have to go that extra mile, but he did. We recently got married in San Antonio, and Viol Consort played during our Catholic wedding. Our guests complemented us so much on the music. The musicians played beautifully, and our singer was amazing. She sang Ave Maria towards the end of the ceremony and it brought tears to our eyes. We couldn't have asked for better music! Sam, who manages the group, was easy to work with. They do a lot of Catholic weddings, so they took the reins and made sure everything that was played was allowed by the Church and our priest. If you're considering hiring them for your wedding, DO IT! The music will make a difference when you're in the altar getting ready to say I do.

Viol Consort String Ensemble was highly recommended and did an amazing job at my wedding. I loved how they had everything from classical to modern music to choose from. They made my wedding even more beautiful!

A unique and beautiful touch
This quartet was so amazing. They were very professional and nice. We gave them a list of songs to play and they made it happen. A beautiful touch to an amazing evening.

Amazing quartet
We loved having Viol Consort at our wedding. They are very talented and everyine loved them! Sam was very accommodating and helped us choose the songs before hand. Highly recommend them
