Magnificent Charcuterie!

Uptown Grocery catered charcuterie boards, sandwiches, dips, fruit and veggies for my daughter's wedding. They arrived right on time and it was beautifully set up right when we needed it! Our guests commented how good the food was and that it was such a high quality. Rene helped estimate the amount and was right on! Wish I could give more than 5 stars! Thanks for a beautiful set-up:-).

Delicious and a hit with the guests!

The Uptown team was amazing! We went with the gourmet baked potato bar and it was just perfect. Everyone was talking about how great it was! Thank you for everything.

Rene is the best!

We worked with Rene for cocktail hour catering for our wedding! She was wonderful and helped us a design a budget friendly and classy cocktail hour. She was on time and very responsive to any questions we had leading up to the wedding!

Alicia Root has an amazing craft for wedding cakes!

Alicia Root was our consultant/baker for our wedding cake and it was absolutely beautiful!! She is very meticulous and went out of her way to respond to our specific requests. She was genuinely interested in seeing our Pinterest board of cake designs so that she could make us the cake of our dreams.
Alicia was honestly one of the most talented, detail-oriented, yet personable vendors we have ever met. She gets the job done and she made our wedding day sweet, literally and figurativelty. We will most definitely be doing business with her in the future and we highly recommend her for any catering services. She is amazing! Thank you, Alicia!

Beautiful delicious cakes!

The price was very reasonable and the cake was so moist and delicious! We sat down with Heather for the consult and tasting and she was able to answer all of our questions. The price was almost half of what other places were wanting to charge for a 3 tier wedding cake plus a round grooms cake. We paid $450 with tax, delivery and set up. I love the fact that she is the only one working on the wedding cake from start to finish to avoid any confusions. Will definitely get all my cakes from Uptown Grocery!

Great vendor!

Morgan was so friendly and excellent when it came to helping us decide on our wedding menu. I think we had several changes but she was patient every time, either on the phone, through email, or in person. I am so happy that we went with Uptown for our special day. It really made it worth it. Also all the additional staff was super nice and friendly.

Uptown Grocery in the Village did both my cake & flowers. Both of them turned out exactly as I had imagine.
We did a cake/cupcake combo and everything was delicious. Everyone raved about how great they were. They also re-make the top layer of your wedding cake on your one year anniversary so you don't have to freeze it.
The flowers were absolutely gorgeous. Brenda really understood the look I was going for & 100% delivered. My wedding was shortly after Hurricane Harvey and during Hurricane Irma so not all the original flowers we decided on were available. Brenda was able to find beautiful substitutes to ensure my vision remained intact.
Also the pricing for both services cannot be beat. Overall I'm so happy with how everything turned out and will recommend Uptown to everyone!

They deserve 10 stars for quality- value - creativity - and professionalism!
They provided flowers for my daughter's wedding and I could not believe the price and the flowers provided. The women who set up at the venue were punctual and professional.

I can't say enough good things about Uptown. If you order at least $50 from catering, bakery, and floral departments they will give you free set up and delivery, which can be pretty expensive! The food was great and the flowers on my cake and for my ΔZ sisters were perfect. The people in each department were so easy and fun to work with and I knew the day of my wedding I wouldn't have anything to worry about where they were concerned.

We used Uptown Grocery on N. May Ave/The Village for our wedding cake and wedding flowers. Tammy did an amazing job with our cake and cupcakes! The cupcakes were an add on, for a VERY reasonable price. The cake looked and tasted amazing! I ordered cake flowers through Brenda, and Tammy placed them perfectly on the cake! Brenda did a fabulous job with our wedding bouquets and boutonnieres. I was so impressed with how fantastic both the flowers and the cake turned out. The prices were great, and they were both very easy to work with and perfectly recreated my vision. I would Highly recommend them!

We used Uptown for our wedding flowers and they were absolutely PERFECT! Beth was so sweet and easy to work with and made my vision become a reality! Every guest at our wedding just raved how beautiful the flowers were and the owner of the venue said that they were the most beautiful flowers they have had! The flowers were supposed to arrive at 4 pm, and they arrived 2 hours earlier than expected, which alleviated a lot of stress in decorating the venue before the wedding!

Tammy was kind and very friendly and patient during the planning process. Cake tasting fees go to the total cost of your cake and it was the best cake we had had after trying multiple vendors. She was very organized, checked in several times the week of the wedding and the cake not only tasted amazing, but looked stunning as well. I would highly recommend Tammy with uptown grocery co and we are looking forward to our fresh anniversary cake tier on our wedding anniversary!

We got our wedding cake and groom's cake through Tammy at Uptown, and she was an absolute peach! We loved our cake, and thought it came out beautiful, and exactly how we wanted it. She, as well as the whole event team at Uptown, were the easiest vendor to deal with during our wedding. They were always very responsive, and always made me feel like my business was appreciated. They even provide an anniversary cake to you for your 1 year! Loved the service, and I will recommend their event services department to friends and family.

I cannot say enough good things about Uptown Grocery Catering. I found them through Wedding Wire and was kind of surprised that the grocery store just down the street from us catered events. We contacted Rebecca and she was so helpful! We set up an appointment and she helped guide us through the buffet choices offering very helpful advice on food choices. They had so many choices of entrees and sides that we were able to provide a large variety of choices to our guests! Price wise, they came in way under any other quote that we'd received but that didn't compromise quality or taste in any way. We got SO many compliments on the food! The staff boxed up all of the leftover food and we were able to enjoy it the next day with all our family in town, it was still just as delicious! I would recommend Uptown Catering to anyone for their event catering needs. I will be sure to use them again for any catering event I may have in the future.

I LOVED WORKING WITH UPTOWN! They have a fun and unformative tasting, affordable, and a BEAUTIFUL cake. I was completely delicious. They also remake your cake for you at your first anniversary. THey were recepetive and she gave me exactly what I wanted. LOVED this place :)

Beth and her team at Floral Fusion are absolutely wonderful. Beth would sit down with me and discuss all the details. I would send her pictures off Pinterest in an email and she prints them and saves them to your file. She is very straight forward with the pricing, and the flower are very reasonable. She is the sweetest lady, and you will not be sorry about using them for your floral service!!

We had Tammy make my cake and his. Mine was of course beautiful and tasted amazing. Better than many stores that just make cakes. It still amazes me that the cakes came from a grocery store. Regardless, his cake was my favorite! He loves fishing so I wanted him to have a cake to reflect that. She came up with the idea of making a little pond with grass tufts and graham cracker sand. I bought some little fishing poles and things from hobby lobby and she placed everything. I was blown away! She is awesome!

We contracted with all three services from Uptown for my daughter's wedding. Beth from floral, Rebecca from catering and Tammy from the bakery all were excellent communicators and helped us to keep costs within our budget. The cake and flowers were beautiful and we especially appreciated the catering service delivery, set-up, servers, and clean-up! Thanks to the entire Uptown team for their professionalism and expertise in helping to create a beautiful event!

Beth and her floral team did a fabulous job on the floral arrangements and the bouquets. I would highly recommend Uptown floral for your next event.

I was so thankful Uptown Grocery was able to make my cake. We received a lot of compliments. The team at Uptown Grocery was very through with all the details and followed up with us a lot prior to our wedding. I had an idea of what I wanted so I e-mailed a picture to my coordinator and they re-created it beautifully. I didn't get to eat much of the cake on my wedding night, so I'm really looking forward to Uptown Grocery re-creating it on our first anniversary.

Uptown Grocery is amazing, and they have an amazing event team!

Not only was my catering done through them, my cake and all of my flowers were also through Uptown. I guess I will go through each section and how much I loved the service from Uptown! The main event coordinator that I talked to and met with, her name was Ashley!

Flowers: I met with Beth and showed her pictures of what I wanted and she knew exactly what flowers were in each bouquet and which ones would be in season during my wedding. I was very impressed by there service and knowledge. Even when I sent her pictures of any changes or ideas, they knew exactly what they were doing. Everyone loved each floral arrangement they saw in the wedding!

Cake: I sent Ashley a few emails with pictures of cakes that I liked the style of. She quickly would talk to the baking department and find out if it was something they could do. In the end, I got exactly what I wanted and it look so beautiful! The best part is that it was tasty! We were able to have a cake tasting with their flavors and icings, everyone at my wedding loved the cherry chip cake with a cherry and cream cheese filling. One great thing about Uptown is that you dont have to save your top layer of cake for your 1 year anniversary. They will actually remake your top layer of cake for your anniversary the next year!

Catering: The first step was to see their very broad menu of anything from italian, american and mexican style food. Then after we looked at it, we picked a few items to try for the tasting. The food was delicious in the tasting and at the wedding! I could not have been more pleased with the yumminess of the food. I do have to say, the only thing I was a little disappointed with is that they didnt decorate the food table liked they had talked about. But another thing my parents loved is that Uptown gathered and packaged all the left over food for them to take home and eat with our families that were in town.

Uptown Grocery catered the wedding cake & finger foods for my daughter's wedding at a vineyard. The food was not only fantastically presented, but was delicious as well! The cake was Italian Cream, Fresh Strawberry & Vanilla layers. All were out of this world. The fondant and details were perfect!
Our flowers were done through Beth in the floral department. We could not be happier! Stunning choice of flowers, excellent service and dependability! This establishment knows their stuff! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

We had a wonderful experience using Uptown Grocery. WE had a small wedding cake made and we also had 3 flavors of cupcakes along with chocolate dipped strawberries. We got a lot of great feedback about how everything tasted great. Delivery was prompt and service was great. They provided a chance to do a tasting of flavors and frostings....... The prices couldn't be beat! I highly recommend them!

We used Uptown Grocery for both our wedding flowers and our wedding cake. We loved working with Beth in floral, she has wonderful taste and helped me visualize what we wanted for bouquets and centerpieces. She was also so accommodating of our budget and helped me stay in our price range and get the floral pieces that we wanted. I would absolutely recommend Beth and her team at Uptown Grocery!

Great cake. Inexpensive. Had Italian cream on bottom and top 2 layers white, frosted in buttercream. Everyone loved it. I brought photos of what I wanted and the caterer met with the cake artist to achieve this and worked with the florist for the flowers on the cake. We also got food from them. Very good finger food. Lots of veggies left over. Sandwiches were ALL gone.

Uptown catered our wedding dinner, wedding cake, as well as our floral (bouquets, booteneers, and alter decor). Everyone we dealt with was AMAZING and their prices are unbeatable! Highly recommend.

The florists at uptown grocery were very good. There was some confusion on delivery times, but it ended up working out in the end. The lady we worked with was knowledgeable on what we wanted. They also worked with our budget very well. We told them the dollar amount we wanted to spend, and they worked around it. They did a great job!

Our wedding had a fairly tight budget but we did not want to compromise food quality, so we checked Uptown Grocery out and were really delighted with their catering options. The food was excellent, and they customized the wedding cake exactly to our specifications, it was both beautiful and delicious. Would recommend to anyone looking for any kind of grocery or catering-related service!

The quality is incomparable to some of the others I dealt with. They have a cream cheese/buttercream icing that is amazing. It isn't too sweet or too sour and it has the perfect ivory color. The bakers patience with my bridesmaids and my indecisiveness was impressive. She worked with us until we were able to create a cake that was in line with the theme of the wedding and yet represented me as a unique person as well.

Budget friendly and fabulous

We used the floral, bakery and catering services. Although each had separate contacts, it was very handy having all these vendors in one place. The flowers were gorgeous and the food was delicious. The one thing we would do differently is to have the caterers set up earlier. Although we followed their time recommendations, our guests had to wait awhile because the buffet meal was not ready when the ceremony ended.

I was planning to use Uptown for both my flowers and cake but ended up only using them for my cake. I must say that Tammy was amazing when it came to planning and taking care of my cake order. She called me back immediately to set up an appointment. I was so disappointed though that I did not end up using them for the flowers however and the reason for that was that I could get no one from their floral department to respond to me or even get back to my request to even book an appointment. Very surprising considering I have seen so much good work from them here and see such awesome reviews about them. Would have made things easier to book these things together from same vendor but luckily I was able to get someone to do my flowers somewhere else. With that being, Tammy from the bakery is amazing!

The customer service was pretty good and the good was delicious. The only
Issue I had was when I asked them to bring extra plate and forks for the cake, which I paid for, and they didn't. People at the wedding couldn't have cake because there were no plates to use. I was not very happy about this.

Every sandwich tray was excellent. The cheese tray had an excellent variety. The fruit tray was very disappointing. We specifically requested grapes and strawberries be included and there were none. The cantaloupe was hard and tasteless and the only other melon had no flavor.

I would suggest a clause in any contract that has a penalty for 'not providing items contracted for'; or better yet advising something is not going to be provided so a substitute may be planned before distasteful food is served.

First let me say that Uptown's cakes taste AMAZINGLY and compared to boutique shops, they are extremely affordable. My only complaint is that they messed up the decorating on my wedding cake. The whole bottom tier was supposed to have colored rosettes, and they made them all white. It still looked pretty, just wasn't what we had discussed. They delivered the cake which was awesome and like I said, the cake is delicious. Also, you get a free 6" cake in your anniversary, so you can go ahead and eat the top!

It was very hard getting to contact them for service and their responsiveness to calls and emails was terrible. I sometimes felt like I had to step them and push them the whole time to move forward. All that considered they showed up on the event day and they provided an excellent meal. The area that they could improve in the most is communication and guest services. they were the cheapest we could find in the area, would probably have paid a little more for someone who communicated and worked with us more.

Uptown in The Village

This review is only for the Uptown Grocery located in The Village. I could only locate the page for the one in Edmond so I can't say anything about their service. Short review: STAY AWAY AND DO NOT HIRE THIS CATERER. They were the most stressful part of wedding planning.
Long review: Started out fine. No red flags during the tasting and the food was good. I asked if there was a discount for children and was told "yes" as well as inquired about the duties of the servers which I was told they would set up, keep an eye on the buffet, pick up dirty plates, and break down the buffet before leaving. However the most important question was if they will accommodate special dietary requests and I was told "yes." This was highly important because my now husband and his sister are lactose intolerant (like stay in the bathroom all night kind of intolerant) and my brother in law and niece are severely gluten intolerant (like having seizures kind of intolerant). Satisfied, I paid my deposit. Over the entire engagement, I only received responses to my emails about 50% of the time and when I did they were short with me. I didn't take it personally since I knew she (Terri) was most likely busy. One day, I asked a question regarding the children's discount and received a response stating they do not allow that. Okay, fine no big deal. Another month goes by and I emailed Terri again with a question regarding the special meals. I received an answer that that was not allowed and they would not do it. So obviously, that was NOT okay. At that point, I sent an email to the general manager asking if the director was giving me accurate information considering I was told to my face the opposite. Within 15 mins, Terri called me apologizing and stating she didn't understand the situation and they will make it right. Before we hung up, she apologized for being short with me in her emails (which I did not address in my email to the GM so she knew what she was doing). A few months go by, I emailed Terri to let her know of a venue change due to a time issue and I never received a response. Almost a month goes by and I sent another email to follow up and I did receive a response finally. Two weeks before the wedding I was contacted by Rene to go over the final details. She was nice so I was hopeful things would go well. The wedding day arrives and the servers had everything set up on time but they didn't pick up a single plate. At one point, while I was sitting and eating I saw them taking plates of food to the back and my father caught them eating it in the middle of the wedding reception. They were there for a few hours total before packing up and leaving. I texted Rene a few days later to which she told me that for the servers to pick up dirty dishes would have been an additional 18% of food cost on top of the $150 fee I paid to have them for a few hours. She did say they were not supposed to be eating so she would take care of that and "make it up to me." It's been over a week and I haven't heard back.

I had every intention of writing a good review until I was told about the additional fee for the servers to simply pick up plates. I used to work at a restaurant in Bricktown that hosts many weddings and banquets. I have literally done their job and it is not difficult to pick up plates and throw them away (they were plastic and I had under 70 guests). I didn’t want my guests doing it if I could help it and at one point I saw my brand new husband clearing plates. I do not appreciate being lied to & shrugged off when I am spending a lot of money. Everything except the special meals was of low importance and wouldn't affect my experience except for the lies. I'm an easygoing person and because I've been in the caterer's shoes I wanted to be an easy customer. The only positive is the food was good. I strongly suggest hiring a different caterer & if I could go back in time I would hire someone else. If you do hire them, get everything in writing.

Yowza! I have very mixed feelings about UpTown. My cake was very simple and turned out nicely, no complaints there. We also ordered several dozen small desserts (cupcakes, cake truffles, tarlets, etc) - those also came out nicely and I have no complaints. I was able to have everything delivered along with some decorative trays/stands I rented from Uptown - they delivered everything on time - no complaints there.

Everything up to that point though was awful! The coordinator I worked with was let go about 2 weeks before my wedding (and what a relief!) she was really hard to work with. The coordinator who took over for her was much better, but I only worked with her briefly.

I can't really give them an accurate review because my experience trying to get through the tasting and ordering process was so tainted. However, that person is no longer with the company. The final product was as expected and delivered on time and the price is right.

Proceed with caution would be my best advice...

I met with at least 6 different vendors when looking for a wedding cake and decided to go with Uptown. I was nothing but disappointed with them.
First of all, my mom took them some pearls to put on my cake the week of the wedding and went over and confirmed the order with them. I wanted pearls draped on the cale but the decorator told her she could make prettier pearls out of icing so we decided to go with that. I also sent them specific pictures of ruffles I wanted on my cake and they said the design would be no problem.
So, I was VERY frustrated and upset when Uptown called me the night before the wedding right in the middle of my rehearsal dinner and I had to spend over 30 minutes on the phone describing what designs I wanted on the cake. It was as if we had never placed an order and I had to start from scratch. Nothing like stressing a girl out and making her cry in the middle of the rehearsal dinner! My mom left the dinner and went up to the store to clarify why they didn't have any of the details to our order and came back saying she took care of it all.
When the wedding cake was delivered, the ruffles were nothing like the specific pictures we sent, (of which they quoted over a hundred dollars more than other ruffle deaigns), the pearls were very few white dots scattered on the cake ( i asked for a thick band of white and silver ones) and they did not separate the layers with columns as I had asked. I didn't see it until after the first look or else I would have thrown a fit. The grooms cake was a Thunder logo shape but looked horrible. My groom-who is not picky about absolutely anything- was disappointed in his cake.
Even though we had numerous people recommend Uptown to us, we were highly disappointed in the services. I would strongly recommend NOT to use them!

Horrid disaster.

We expected for 300 but ks a wedding cale that would at least be average. What we GOT was a cake that looked like it was made by a third grader. Gaudy for the decorations and not even built properly so it fell apart in the car before it even got home! I hope you have some sense of shame for ruining a Brides special day. Your actions left her in tears! How dare you.

I'm disapointed that I have to write this review but I think its important to share my experience with uptown. Full disclosure I worked with the location in the Village. Briana took about 10 days to reply to my initial email, which is annoying but I over looked it. She explained that she was only able to meet Tuesday-Thursday 9-3 for the foreseeable future. Which was again annoying, because this is a grocery store with more flexible hours than a traditional florist. During our exchange I learned that Briana had lied several times, some or this was confirmed with the Edmond location others were just basic contradictions. Through an exchange of emails and calls that became more and more unprofessional I decided to go with a traditional florist with a great reputation and professionalism that matched. Briana told me that our $3,400 budget was "crumbs" compared to what she typically does, needless to say I'm happy we took our crumbs elsewhere.

This was the WORST choice I made planning my wedding. I loved absolutely everything about my wedding day EXCEPT MY CAKE!! I met with Uptown Bakery and their events coordinator in early January 2014 to show them my design for what I wanted my cake to look like. They assured me that this wasn't a problem and that they had actually done several of these types of cakes in the past. This gave me confidence that they "knew what they were doing," so I booked them.

Five months later and TWO DAYS BEFORE MY WEDDING I got a call on my cell phone directly from the head baker who was supposed to be making my cake. She said she couldn't get the materials necessary to make the cake I had designed. She told me it was impossible to do my cake and asked if I had any other ideas. NO! No Lady! No, 2 days before my wedding, my cake design is the LAST thing on my mind. That is why I carefully planned the cake in January right after getting engaged. I secured the cake design 5 months in advance so that I wouldn't have to worry about or continue searching for something else.

After several phone calls and LOTS of frustration and crying, I came to a compromise with the baker. I found pictures of three cakes that had elements of what I wanted on my cake. I spelled it out plainly and easily for her. I even told her exactly what I DIDN'T want. Guess what....the day of my wedding arrived and the cake I got was exactly what I DIDN'T want. It was supposed to have the look of gold glitter cascading down the entire cake. Instead, it looked like someone stuck a bunch of pennies on it randomly. The cake was also supposed to have a leopard pattern on the inside of it. This was something they had originally assured me would be no problem. However, my wedding cake looked like it had orange smears all on the inside.

This was the biggest disappointment of my entire wedding. Do NOT expect anything from them except lies.

Called several times with no answer and being told someone would call me back. Finally after I called again, I was able to speak with someone and scheduled an appointment for catering and cake with them. Drove all the way to north Edmond from south Moore for this appointment and they had no clue that we were supposed to be meeting. The long brown haired woman was not helpful whatsoever, instead said that I would have to call AGAIN to reschedule. Very disappointed and will not be working with them. They're unorganized and really lacking customer hospitality.
