I found the perfect dress

I was very pleased when I walked in and was helped almost immediately and everyone was very pleasant and very nice and I purchased the 1st dress that I tried on because I knew it was the one. I actually received a call from them because it came in early.

Selection and stress free!

Love the selection and staff at Universe. They made putting together my bridal party with gals from multiple states so simple and stress free. Ordering my dress was a breeze and they were great at helping me find a veil when the one I wanted wasn’t available in time. Definitely a great group yow work with!

Beautiful dresses just not mine

This bridal shop is absolutely gorgeous. We walked in on a Sunday afternoon and the consultant, Michelle was awesome. I tried on probably 20-30 dresses, but didn’t find any that I really loved. They have a LARGE selection of dresses, and a varying price range!!

Loved shopping here

I had an amazing experience with Universe bridal! I love the fact that you can go through all the racks of gowns yourself and pick as many as you want to try on. No appointments, no limit to the number of dresses you can pull. You can always ask for assistance if you need it too. There is such a wide variety of price points that there is something for every budget. Bonus, I ordered my dress in June and was told it would arrive in October and it only ended up taking 2 weeks to arrive! I'm sure that's not always the case but it was really nice! They provided a list of seamstresses in the surrounding counties as well which was super helpful!

I went to 6 dress shops and finally found my perfect dress at Universe! When you pull up it turns you off to it, because the outside is kind of junky and doesn't look like a bridal shop. But when you walk in and make your way to the bridal section it is totally worth it! SO SO MANY DRESSES. You can try on as many as you like, and I had a hard time picking my favorite! Also, the samples aren't only 10-14. They had all sizes even 4's and 6's for petite brides. I recommend this to any Bride looking for a dress!

I had such an incredible experience at this store. Melissa was so sweet and helpful, and didn't mind me talking her ear off haha. Although the store seems overwhelming at first (they have so many dresses!!) it only took me a few hours to find my perfect dress within my budget!!

The ladies at Universe were very professional and easy to work with. I tried on TONS of dresses and she was a nice with the last one as she was with the first! They were very easy to work with and let me make a payment plan.

I had to get a different dress at the last minute about 1.5 months before the wedding (the one I was originally going to wear was going to need too much alterations). The staff was helpful and understanding of my situation and made sure I found "the" dress. I spent 2 hours trying on dresses non-stop before finding the one I absolutely loved and was around my size.

I went to this vendor back in October for my dress. The staff was very helpful and a lot of fun to work with. Even though they were really busy they were really patient with me and helped pick out a lot of different dresses for me to try on.
We also went back earlier this year to find a dress for my mom. Even though they didn't have any mother of the bride dresses they helped up pick out a dress that worked perfectly for my mom. While there on the second trip I found the perfect dress for my rehearsal (My wedding was peacock themed and this dress had a peacock design on it) and they helped with picking that out also!

I was so scared of going dress shopping because every other store pushed dresses on me that I didn't even like and didn't have the money for. When we arrived at universe we found a sales woman that told us she could help us or we could help ourselves. We went through the huge room of dresses and picked out our favorites. We hardly had to glance at the price tags because they were all so affordable, even though my taste is very extravagant. My mother helped me into the dresses, which was a touching experience when I put on the dress that we bought that day. Someone was there to answer our questions and assist with the buying process the whole time without being overbearing and pushy. Even when they said they were ready for the payment, they said no rush and allowed us to look around at bridesmaid dresses. My dress will arrive within 6 weeks. And did I mention it is a pnina tonai look alike!

They are well worth the drive to from Columbus. When looking for a replacement dress after bridal and tux in Dayton failed to order the dress, they came thru for us and had my dress ordered and to us in a months time. The staff is great and very helpful.

Overall my experience with Universe Bridal was great. I took my laptop with pictures of dresses I liked and my consultant basically had every dress or at least a similar version I had on my picture list. My dress came in earlier than they had expected and my bridesmaids dresses were perfect. They even allowed me to negotiate a little bit with the price of my dress and bridesmaids dresses. They were all very nice and were all easy to work with!! I would recommend going here first before you go to any other bridal shops!!

Out of this world selection, a great place to take your special ladies to help you find your dream wedding gown. The staff is incredibly helpful, the dresses are beautiful and I am certain there is something there for everyone. I have a very eclectic style and I found my dress that received a ton of compliments on our big day. There are RACKS upon RACKS of dresses to choose from, not like the upscale "boutiques" that only carry the latest (and most expensive) styles of the season. Universe Bridal carries top of the line dresses right alongside the dresses for the budget conscious bride. Well worth the drive in the country for this AWESOME experience! Universe has the best selection of dresses and the best pricing! No one in the Columbus or Cincinnati area can compete with the pricing at Universe!!! Trust me, I called everyone! Wendy’s Bridal wanted $400 more for the same dress and wasn’t able to match the price Universe was offering. Universe even gave me an additional discount on my dress because my bridesmaids bought their dresses through them as well. I was also very happy with my Bridal Consultant. She didn’t pressure me to make a fast decision or to make a purchase the first time we came in like Wendy’s did. My only complaint is that we ordered my dress one size too small. We made it work in the end, but my consultant should have told me I needed the next size up instead of letting me make the decision.

I had a wonderful experience with Universe Bridal. It was well worth the drive from Columbus and I ended up going twice. I went with my mother and sister and I loved that we were free to browse and try on dresses on our own. I didn't feel pressured to hurry up and pick one, which is great for a slow shopper like me. (Bridal consultants are available, too.) We recharged at the diner connected to the store, which has great hamburgers! Universe Bridal has a huge selection of dresses, very reasonable prices, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. They were always quick to return phone calls. When the gown came in, they shipped it to me in Columbus (for about $10) so I didn't have to drive back out to pick it up. (Note: They don't have alteration services at the store.) Great store for people looking for a one-of-a-kind dress on a budget.

I had visited other well-known bridal shops and received inconsistent service, bad advice on going up almost two sizes larger than necessary before altering, etc. When I first visited Universe Bridal, it was a breath of fresh air. They were in the middle of prom season, yet still attended to my every need, personally brought out gowns, assisted with trying them on, and gave real advice I could use. The prices were exceptionally great and they didn't once try to push me out of my budget just to increase their sale. The personal attention helped my wedding plans go smooth and really made me feel like a princess! :)

Huge selection at great prices! People thought my dress cost $5000+ when it was less than a 1/5 of that price! The staff is wonderful - remembers your name, the names of the people you're with, etc. Despite being located in the middle of nowhere, it's well worth the drive!

All the woman there were wonderful. My mother, sister, and I were helped by one of my husbands friends, Charolette, who worked there. She waited on us hand and foot. She brought every style of dress that she could find. She made a rather stressful day very relaxing. She was wonderful. And the selection of dresses was incredible.

Great Experience!

Well I'll start off by saying their pricing is unbelievably amazing! I went in looking for a dress under $1100.00 and found that one! They give discounts and really help you to vision what you'll look like on the big day! Plus they have a Build-To-Order so you dont have to drop 100% of your money that day!!

This was the only place I ended up looked. I found "the one" at a very reasonable price. They are very flexible when it comes to payments, which is always helpful. We also decided to use this vendor for the tuxedos as well.We only had one jacket not fit and they were kind enough to get overnight shipping, free of charge.

I went to so many bridal shops on my dress search I don't even know where to start, but I ended up getting my dress at Universe in the end. Brides, if you are looking for a hands-on consultant and someone to help make every decision for you or offer suggestions this is NOT the shop for you. If you are looking to pull dresses on your own with a friend or mother, and aren't interested in a pushy lady breathing down your neck to get her commission PLEASE take the time to drive to this shop.
They have thousands of DESIGNER dresses for samples, and not just the 2-300 that the high end dress shop in Tallmadge had. I ended up finding the Allure dress of my dreams at the shop in Tallmadge (tried it on in a size 10 and fit great), and the three times I visited Universe they did not have the sample in store. They were able to order my dress from Allure for $200.00 less than Tallmadge was asking. I ordered the dress in August and they told me it would be in by Christmas. However, it only took a month for the dress to come in.
The only issue I had was when I was measured they told me my size according to the Allure chart was between a 12-14, but because the 10 fit in Tallmadge I wanted this ordered. When the dress came in I could only zip it up about 3/4 of the way. (I have another year to get into the dress so no biggie) but this was in NO way the consultants fault. They told me which size I should order.
The accessories here are not well organized in any particular system, but they have more to choose from than anywhere else I've been. So if you're planning on buying a veil or headpiece inspect it carefully.
As for the negative comments - Although they may be a little short staffed especially with a booming prom and homecoming section as well, they do everything they can to be couteous and friendly as well as give you help when you ask for it.

I bought my wedding dress here after my initial plan of having my wedding dress hand-made by a colleague fell through. At first I was skeptical but after only an hour of trying on dresses I found one that I loved and looked almost identical to the dress I planned on having made. Because of my time restraints I had to buy a dress of the rack. It required no major alterations however after trying the dress on a few times the zipper needed replacing.
Half of the wedding dress part of the store is HALF OFF the listed price which was wonderful. I wound up with the dress of my dreams for only $250.

I found my dress at Universe Bridal. I was there two weeks prior doing my shopping and the place was empty. When I went back two weeks later that place was SLAMMED. I called the day before to let them know I was coming but I was not given a dressing room on the bridal side. They found me a room along with another bride in the back inside the prom section. My people couldn’t all see me trying on dresses. My FMIL went in and requested a room, maybe even demanded..we were then given a room on the bridal side so that my family could see me in each dress. The employee was very apologetic of the situation and she was very kind to me during the buying process. I’ll update ya’ll on how it goes once my dress gets in! Up to this point it’s been a pretty good experience!

Universe bridal was an excellent bargain boutique. I got a gorgeous, off-the-rack dress that I adored for. Service was so friendly, attentive and not at all pushy. Bonus: there was a winery across the street where my mother in law maid of honor and I could take a lunch break during our 6-hour marathon.
They do push expensive extras, like my crinolines cost $50 when I know darn well I could get them for $10 online. They also cut the labels out of their dresses, which is a little shady as it totally prevents comparison shopping, but at $199 for my dress, I didn't personally need to comparison shop.

This is a great store for finding all of your bridal needs. I had a wonderful time picking out my dress, and the dresses of my party. They had great prices that everyone was happy with. Their hours and staff were also very helpful with everything. One of my bridesmaid dresses was ordered incorrectly; however, they quickly fixed the problem with no trouble to me.

Overall very impressed with the dress that I received in terms of quality and price. They have such a wide variety of dresses, I would recommend this place to anyone. I bought a prom dress here in high school and returned for my wedding dress. Even after visiting the Bridal District in Cincinnati, Ohio I found that this location had a better selection at much more reasonable prices.

Universe Bridal was amazing to me, they helped me find my perfect dream dress even though I had to come back four times before I actually found it. If you want an amazing experience and someone who is very patient and helping, ask for Charolette (spelling?), she was the sweetest and most energized bridal consultant I could have asked for and remembered who I was and what I was looking for each and everytime I came back. I will say, that there was ALOT of mistakes in my orders, but everything was quickly worked out and fixed to how I wanted it. My bridesmaids dress bows were ordered in white and they all came in the same color as the dresses, but they sent them out immediately to a local seamstress and had the bows fixed at their cost. The bows werent very nicely attached and were lose in spots but I was happy because they were the color I had wanted, the bridesmaids dresses were all about a size to small and every girl had to have their dresses altered, the groomsmans tuxes were all a little small and several had to be sent back, but this was done and ready within one day, and the usher's vests came in the wrong color and I didnt even notice until I looked back into pictures that they were in the total wrong color (I was way too wrapped up in other things that day lol). However, I would say all-in-all, Universe does strive to make the bride the happiest she can be and if you have a complaint or dont like something, they fix it immediately. The price is a little high, but its a bridal boutiqe and that is to be expected of a hands on store like they are. I got all of my bridal parties outfits and everything from there and overall, I was pleased! :) Charolette (spelling?) YOU AREA AMAZING!

My wedding dress was a floor model so I got it at a discounted price. They were very helpful and they let us put it on layaway. We also got a tiara there with red gems in it, when my wedding colors changed they wouldn't let me return or exchange the tiara. That was the only problem I had with them.

I got an amazing deal on my wedding dress here since I bought an "as is" dress! We were not as satisfied with the tuxes though since one of the groomsmen got a "wide" jacket as a mistake and my husband's pants were way too big. We also recieved the wrong dress shirts for under the tuxes. Overall the dresses were great but not so much on the tuxes!

My only criticism on this vendor is I was picking out my wedding dress during prom season. The ladies were paying more attention to some of the girls going to prom than me. A wedding should have priority over prom. Other than that the service was great. They were very helpful!

This place is a gold mine for someone who is looking for a relatively cheap dress but still wants to be beautiful. The selection is enormous, and they have a wide variety of discontinued and clearanced dresses as well. I found a gorgeous dress here that I fell in love with for only $300. Also, they let you make payments on the dress directly to the store. Super flexible!

My first two visits were amazing. I had a great time trying on dresses and the staff was so attentive to my needs. Well after I bought a dress there it was down hill from there. When I went to pick up my dress and try it on I literally had to hunt someone down 3 times, because the first 2 times the woman forgot about me. It took me almost an hour and a half to PICK UP MY DRESS.
If you can deal with the service the prices just cannot be beat.

They were so HORRIBLE to work with!! They are completely unprofessional and unhelpful. I have so many complaints I don't even know where to start.
There is NO way I would ever buy from them again no matter how good the price.

The saleswoman was helpful in finding a dress that made my daughter feel like a princess. Of course the dress was over three hundred dollars.. when I got in line I was disappointed to see a snap missing on the back.. when I complained I was told oh well it happens we have no more in her size.. they did find one in a sewing box and do it yourself toots.. wtf? Really?? My daughter wore it for a few hours and when she came home the stitching had come out on both sides all the way down. She is a tiny thing. The dress fit her fine. She does not like do fitting so she choose a style that was loose.. I am very upset.. of course she wants to go back.. lol fat chance.

Good selection and price for dresses, overpriced accessories..........HORRIBLE EVERYTHING ELSE. The staff is not interested in helping you at all. There are what appears to be 50 people working, but no one will help you.

They expect a deposit and payment in full before a certain date they arbitrarily pick out, but can not give you a date as to when the dress will be in.

After that, they sent home the wrong dress, after we drove over an hour to get the correct one, they thought it was very funny. We didn't. Do yourself a favor and don't give them a penny. They don't appreciate your business.

A nightmare

I will NEVER recommend this store to anyone! Planning a wedding is hard enough, and we all know we pay a LOT of money to hire competent people to help make the day go smoothly. They ordered wrong dress, sold me a used floor model for same price in order to have a dress on time for my wedding.
People like this should not have a job in customer service.

This is the only Bridal store I know that cuts the tags designer tags out of the dresses, this is illegal. Dresses are copyrighted by the designer and need to have their designer tags in, even if it is just a sample. They will also refuse to tell you the designer of the dress. When I asked the person 'helping' me she blatantly lied and said that everyone does it, which is another lie. the attendants do not even know the names of the dresses or the designers, because the have never seen the tags themselves, so don't even bother asking for a specific dress to try on. If you want to buy a torn up sample from the rack, this is the place to go, but i would only be willing to pay them half since there is no guarantee the dress is genuine without the designer tag. the dressing 'rooms' are the smallest in the business. I say rooms because they and literally just curtains hung up. We went right when they opened and i was the only person trying on dresses for half an hour, that didn't stop my attendant from talking to the other workers the whole time and ignoring me.

This retailer uses illegal tactics and doesn't deserve any of your money! I will be reporting them to the FTC, like they deserve.

I had a horrible experience with this company. As far as selection of gowns, they do have a wide variety at a pretty decent price. I found a gown there that I loved, but when I went to order it, after four attempts at ordering this gown, to this date, I still do not have the correct gown. The designer they ordered through sent me a sample dress instead of a brand new one, even though we paid the full price for a "brand new" dress. When we realized the problem, the associates ignored the complaint and pretended to take care of the issue. When we called back, the "new" dress was in--- which was supposed to be a brand new dress. It was the exact same dress as before-- the wrong size, the satin lining was not aligned with the lace-- therefore the dress looked like it was sideways on me. When they said they were ordering a new one, AGAIN we drove two hours to get there and we had the same exact issues. Currently, I am told that they are, once again, re-ordering this dress to the correct size. When I was in the salon today, I was told the new dress would be in in a week or two. Once I drove back home, I received a phone call telling me it won't be in until August 20th which is three months from now. I began shopping there in February. This is going to take me over 6 months and four "re-ordered" dresses to finally have one in stock. And who's to say this one that comes in will even be the correct dress?

The manager of the store is very rude. She was brought into the room to look at my dress and told us it was our fault, ignored what we had to say about the dress, interrupted our explanation, and completely walked away. When we asked to speak to the manager later, we were told she had "stepped out" of the office. The associates there will not take any of your complaints seriously. It takes at least 5 or 6 times of repeating yourself for them to acknowledge anything. Basically, if everything doesn't turn out perfectly when you first order the dress--- RUN. They will not help you. And if they pretend to, it WILL NOT be done correctly.

I have so many complaints. We purchased two dresses for our daughters for prom. Total of $895.00 plus $25.00 for alterations. When we went to pick up the dress, they could not find one of them. It took 30 minutes and they thought it was funny. After driving two hours to get there I did not! Then we take the dress home, open it up and realize the sequins that were suppose to be replaced were not done. I called, and the lady told me to go to Jo Ann Fabrics and buy some to put on myself. I was ticked off, but did it. Then my daughter tries on the dress and the alterations were not done correctly. I called the lady and she admitted to the problem that the seamstress had messed up the first attempt and had to do it again, but still refused to do anything about it or make it right. I finally yelled and argued enough that she agreed to send me a check for the $25.00 alteration fee, and then added that it was my fault for not picking up the dress sooner! Ummmm, when you offered me lay-a-way and I pick it up three weeks earlier than its due to come out, how can you even begin to make this my problem!!!! The most unprofessional staff of people I have EVER dealt with. Save your money for someone who truely deserves it! In this economy people need to spend their money with companies who actually care about their customers!!!!!!
