Gina altered my wedding dress and made my wedding jewelry. She is so talented and kind. I live out of state and she was so flexible and easy to work with. Highly highly recommend.

Gina works hard to help you look your best!

I purchased my wedding dress online from a girl who bought the dress at retail price but decided to go with a different dress. The dress I got needed a few alterations and I asked around to see if anyone knew where I could get my dress altered since none of the area stores would do it since I didn't get my dress from them. Gina was highly recommended to me and I'm so glad I got to work with her! She altered my dress beautifully and made the most wonderful and sturdy bustle ever for me! We even got earrings for me, my mother, mother in law, and all of my bridesmaids from her and they were so delicate looking and sturdy, I still wear them to dressy events! I also need to mention that I purchased my own hair piece from another store and was disappointed with it so I brought it to Gina and she managed to fasten it into a beautiful hair clip that was much easier for me to use! She is so talented!

My husband and I got married in June 2020 but had to postpone our wedding reception due to COVID. We finally had our reception this past May 2021 and I actually got to wear my dress again! It fit beautifully and we made sure to "cape" it like Gina suggested so it was relatively wrinkle free for May. I was so impressed by the quality of the work done on my dress and how she worked so hard to coordinate all of the jewelry I would need for the big day. She takes such good care of "her brides!" Thank you, Gina!!

Best seamstresses around

Gina is so flexible and professional. She went above and beyond work with me to tailor my dess to my vision and helped me see what was possible with the bustle based on the type of train I had. She is so incredibly reasonably priced compared to other places in the are and the quality of her work is far beyond.

Made me look forward to getting alterations!

Gina's workspace is out of the basement of her beautiful family home, and she really makes you feel like a guest when you come to her for dress alterations. I had a great time talking to her about all sorts of things, and generally I hate putting on clothes and looking at full length mirrors for any period of time. I had a dress too big for me with big dreams of moving around some of the lace work to make a collar and she made it work! I didn't love shopping for my dress, but I adored the way I looked at the end. If I'm ever back in the area, I plan to go to her with any kind of fitting needs!

Highly recommend!

I would highly recommend Gina for any alterations you need done! My dress fit like a glove by the time she was done with it. She did an amazing job on altering my wedding dress and also altered my mom and sisters dresses as well. She was wonderful to work with. She also created a custom hair piece which she made out of some materials from my dress that I wore on my wedding day. Thank you so much Gina for everything!!

Gina at Uniquely Yours altered my wedding dress and well as made me a veil out of a veil that I purchased and wasn't thrilled about :) I was struggling with some medical problems and my weight was fluctuating on a daily basis it seemed which was extremely stressful leading up to my big day. She worked with me to make sure that I felt confident and comfortable in my dress which included redoing the back part of the entire dress and several other alterations. She also added an amazing ball gown bustle to the dress. I got so many compliments on my dress and how good it fit me a long with my veil being exactly what I was looking for. She also altered my mother's mother of the bride dress and made her jewelry to match the dress. In addition she altered my sisters bridesmaid dress and helped her find a broach that she loved to make herself stand out as the maid of honor. She has a great selection of jewelry and can pretty much alter anything from what i've seen :) I couldn't recommend anyone better.

Don’t let her ruin your dress !!

I had Gina do some very simple alterations on everyday clothes to test out her skills before giving her my mother of the groom dress- thank God I did. A new top is so bad I can’t wear it - she refused to even refund her charges, let alone the Cost of my new shirt. I had her alter the sleeves in my dress- she said her machine was not able to do the type of finish that it needed, but she only told me this after she cut and hemmed the edges. The stitching was uneven, making the edge of the sleeve curl. I took it to the seamstress in Fox River Mall, and she did a beautiful job however, Gina would not refund me the charges, stating there is no money back guarantee on my services. She shortened the sleeve on an athletic top and did double row stitching to finish it off however she did not separate the two rows, but took a shortcut connecting them, which looks horrible and the top stitching is uneven. The one that I did on my machine was 75% better than her work. She did not know that I did the alterations on the shirt that I showed her, but said that companies have better machines than her to make it look that good then I surprised her that I did it on my 40 year old Kenmore. The worst part is even though she admitted they were poor quality. She would not refund me, so I had the added cost of having someone else have to redo it. She was very rude to me, stating it was my fault that the sleeves were uneven.

Worst experience of my life!

Didn’t listen to any Of my concerns and did the complete opposite! She blamed me for the “way I’m proportioned” and charged too WAY to much for the “alterations done” all the stitches came out when I tried it on & of course she denied it when I asked her about it. She CHARGED ME FOR A DRESS BAG THAT I NROUGHT IN AND WOULS NOT REFUND ME. Gina is super rude, and does low quality work!! Please go anywhere but here. She was super rude, she always blamed me for things not turning out. I could send you so many pictures of how bad it was. So terrible. She then also did the lace on top for privacy crooked. After I asked her about it she said “that’s how it was pinned” WHY WOULD YOU SEW ON SOMETHING CROOKED? So mad. Never. Again. Please do not give her the business.
