Tyler Vu is an absolutely fantastic wedding photographer! He shot our wedding in October, and we couldn't be happier. Right off the bat, his warm personality put us at ease - especially my husband, who's usually shy in front of the camera. Tyler has this amazing ability to give clear direction while keeping everything fun and natural. His creativity really shines through in his work, and he has an eye for unique angles and special moments.
What really impressed us was how smoothly he handled our large family photos. Being Vietnamese himself, Tyler was able to communicate effortlessly with our Vietnamese family members, making the group photo session so much more efficient and enjoyable. It was such a relief having someone who could corral everyone into place while making them feel comfortable and included!
As a San Jose local, Tyler was invaluable in finding the perfect photo locations. He took us to stunning spots throughout downtown that we would have never discovered on our own, each one offering something special for our wedding photos. His knowledge of the area and how to capture its beauty really elevated our entire photo collection.
The final photos exceeded our expectations in every way - he captured both the big moments and all those small, precious details perfectly. He has a true talent for telling the story of your day through his lens. Tyler went above and beyond with the quality and quantity of shots he provided us. I’d highly recommend Tyler for anyone looking for a skilled wedding photographer who makes the experience fun and memorable! -

Tyler, his second-shooters and assistants were all a wonderful team to work with. They worked with us early on to understand our preferences and what we expected. I think this was key for the photo crew to stay responsive to the dynamics of the wedding day without having to pressure us on the day (And we certainly had schedule changes and weather conditions that it paid to be adaptable to). They also knew our wedding venue well (having shot there before)
All-in-all I can whole-heartedly endorse Tyler and team. We found them responsive, professional, affordable, and friendly. As for the end-results, they went above and beyond in delivering many high quality photos (and raw short videos that made it into our final cut wedding videos) -

My husband and I were fortunate to book Tyler to be the photographer at our wedding via Casa Real at Ruby Hill's preferred vendor list. During our initial call, Tyler walked us through the packages that he offered and also showed us photos from work he'd previously done at the venue. We were truly impressed with his professionalism and expertise.
The day of the wedding was a complete blur but Tyler and his team showed up early and took the lead immediately. We were able to get our first look photos and wedding party photos completed prior to the ceremony. The fact that Tyler photographs weddings often at the venue really played into his expertise ability to pick stunning areas with gorgeous backdrops for us to be photographed. We had so much fun and most importantly we felt comfortable knowing we were in great hands.
We recently received our wedding photos and we were stunned, completely in awe! The clarify of the photos, the lighting and the poses were spot on. There was not one single photo included that was a let down. Tyler exceeded our expectations and truly brought the best day of our lives back to life! We will recommend Tyler to everyone we know! -

Tyler came highly recommended from a few of our friends in the Bay Area and from our bridal party who heard great things for wedding photography. We came across his Instagram and loved the type of photos that he captured. This was still in the early post pandemic months of 2021 where people were still on the fence about going out, but after reaching out, I loved the fact that he wanted to meet us in person to get to know us a little more and to talk about what we imagined our day would be. From the initial meeting, we knew exactly who we wanted as our photographer, and we had such a pleasure working with Tyler for our engagement photos and for our wedding day. Tyler did great with my mom and was super easy-going to our bridal party which is a major plus! We had an overall great experience working with Tyler and had so much fun during our photo shoots. Tyler is an amazing photographer and knows exactly when and how to pinpoint the perfect timing of the sun for great light exposure to capture that perfect shot! -

Tyler is amazing! When looking for a photographer, you need someone who takes the time to understand your vision, adds his professional inputs, and can run with it. Tyler patiently sat with us twice to go over and plan the photographs that we wanted. He had great input and looking back at the pictures he has an amazing eye for details. I am not comfortable in front of the camera but he was able to prompt us so that we don't feel so stiff and captured real emotions in the moment. There are no words to express my gratitude for his help and professionalism. I highly recommend to everyone to hire him for your big photography moments - you won't regret it. -

Tyler Vu was our Favorite Wedding Vendor!
We had a crazy busy rehearsal dinner and wedding schedule, but Tyler and his team were always there with us every step of the way, capturing all of our special moments. We don't really know how to pose and are often awkward in front of the camera, but Tyer knew what to do with us and made us feel comfortable the entire time. Not only is he a true professional (always responds quickly to texts and emails), he is fun to be around and a joy to work with!
So many of the photos he gave us were stunning and emotional. He wasn't just taking photos but captured our story throughout the weekend. He went out of his way (even moving heavy furniture) to get the perfect composition on staged shots--but the candid shots surprised and delighted us as well! The level of creativity, composition, and color balancing was exactly our style and we loved it.
We are so grateful that he was our photographer for our special weekend. We highly recommend Tyler for all your photography needs! -

Top-notch photography team!
We initially booked Tyler for our wedding on August 2020. However, due to the pandemic, we had to postpone our wedding until 2022. Tyler was very understanding and accommodating given the circumstances and we were able to keep him as our photographer for our wedding two years later.
On the day of the wedding, Tyler and his team were very professional and helped our bridal party and family stay on track with the schedule. You can tell Tyler has a lot of experience because he was very time efficient with the photos during each part of the wedding day. They were very easy to work with. Tyler got along with everyone, from the older family members to the young children. His team was able to capture countless precious moments throughout the day and his photos tell our story.
His photos were outstanding and his work speaks for itself. We highly recommend Tyler and his team to capture your special occasions! -

Tyler was very professional throughout our entire wedding. He was very on top of everything that is going on. His impressive time management allowed us to squeeze in all kinds of pictures that included all family members, friends, and of course dedicated pictures of just me and my wife. The sunset photo session was very nice, and some sneak peaks we got so far look awesome! Can't wait to get the rest of them! Our engagement photos were breathtaking and we were able to display some of them at our wedding. His communication is well-mannered and timely, which really helped us out as busy wedding planners! Overall, Tyler did an amazing job at everything he was tasked to do. I would certainly recommend him as your next photographer!! You won't be disappointed! -

One of the most important pieces of advice I can offer you as you plan your wedding is to make sure you love your photographer as much as you love your dress! Choosing our photographer was one of the most important checklist item on our list. After researching many photographers, my husband and I decided on Tyler.
Tyler shot our engagement photos and since that day I knew we made the right choice. By the way, I highly recommend you to book an engagement session with the photographer that will shoot your wedding day. This way you’ll get to know your photographer beforehand and also have an idea on their shooting style. Most importantly, you’ll have an idea on how your wedding photos will look. That being said, our e-session photos came out BEAUTIFULLY and we received so many compliments from our friends and family. We spent most of the day together shooting in a forest then changing the scenery to the beach during golden hour. Tyler knew how much I loved sunsets, and he made sure that we were able to capture the most magical and perfect sunset photo. He went above and beyond our expectations that day, and we couldn’t wait for him to shoot our photos on our actual wedding day.
On the day of our wedding, Tyler was punctual and navigated the day super smoothly. He’s truly an expert at what he does. All my family and friends also loved him and his crew! They made everyone feel comfortable and was always respectful to the guests and other vendors, which is not always the case with other photographers. Tyler was with us for the majority of the day and he had to fly out for his own honeymoon the next morning, so I was surprised to find teasers the next morning. This man spent time editing teasers for us right before his flight! I mean what does that say about him? He’s an AMAZING professional and we appreciate him so much.
So how did our wedding photos turnout? Outstanding as expected! Getting our photos back was like Christmas morning. Going through our photos brought back so much emotions. He was able to capture all the right moments at the most perfect time. Our photos were timeless and classic with a touch of romance and even a bit of edginess. We loved ALL our photos.
Tyler... you are truly a professional and more than just a photographer—you’re an amazing artist and story teller. You have the ability to approach the day with intention and brought our wedding story to life in a cohesive set of images. We couldn’t have asked for a better photographer. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for capturing our special day!

Awesome Photographer!
Planning a wedding during a pandemic is no easy task. But choosing the right vendors turned our stressful situation into our happily ever after. And boy were we glad we went with Tyler Vu. We were lucky enough to have Tyler capture our special day in December 2020.
Tyler's ability to make you feel like you're talking to a friend made it so easy to work with him. We mostly communicated with Tyler via email and he was very responsive. He was also always available for a quick phone call for a check in if needed.
When we decided to downsize our wedding significantly, Tyler was understanding and flexible and accommodated our every need. He provided suggestions for our revised wedding day schedule and made sure we didn't miss the all important "golden hour."
On the day of our outdoor wedding, Tyler was organized and took charge. He made sure we were able to stick to our timeline. Tyler was amazing at finding a variety of backgrounds/scenery for our photos and he has such a great eye for the perfect shots/angles. Tyler was professional, calm, and polite with our families. My husband and I are far from photogenic, but Tyler was patient and gave us great direction for different poses so we wouldn't look awkward or unnatural. Tyler's humor and friendliness definitely made everyone feel comfortable and at ease during the whole event.
The photos turned out beautifully! Everyone loves them. We are so glad we are able to share them with all our friends and family who were unable to attend. The albums look professional and are of high quality. They make the perfect gift for parents.
You can tell that Tyler is passionate about his work and this translated into an exceptional experience with him. Tyler captured the most important moments of our lives and we will cherish them forever. We highly recommend adding Tyler Vu Photography to your team of wedding vendors. You won't be disappointed. I am in love with our wedding photos! I have so many favorites, it was hard to choose them for the wedding album. Tyler captured our special day so perfectly. We relive our wedding day through his exceptional work. You can feel the emotions through each photo. He captured the pure love, joy, happiness, the different emotions of everyone in attendance. Our wedding day was a whirlwind of activities and Tyler was so organized, patient, professional and helped the day run so smoothly. I want to start off by saying Thank You so much to Tyler Vu. You made our wedding experience easy, and fun.
My wife and I heard of Tyler from our florist. The day we met up with him to go through his quotes. We fell in love with him. Very kind, and professional. He held our hands through out the whole process, and helped us. Made everything so easy. We ended up doing our Engagement, and wedding photos with him.
When we were looking for venue, we asked him about the area. He helped us with planning the lighting of the venue, and what we need. So pictures, and videos go good. Even the videographer was impressed with his eye on things. He agreed with all suggestions that he made.
We first did our Engagement photos, and once again. Held our hands through the process. Made suggestions on what areas to pick. He was so helpful with us, took his time. He was calm, and made sure everything went perfect.
We went through a lot due to covid, and venue situations. Tyler worked with us on everything, we went back and forth with having 2 venues cancel on us. When we went to Tyler to let him know, redo contract, and suggest on lighting situation. He was very responsive.
Due to covid, wedding ended up in back yard. What he did, and the pictures he took. How professional, and polite he was with our family and friends. I honestly can not say much more then, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Tyler Vu to everyone. Hes a very good person, professional, easy to work with, responsive, and very very very good photographer. The pictures were amazing, the service was amazing, and his professionalism was all 5 stars.
He was so good! Even my sister in law did her photos with him.

Tyler is THE absolute best there is!!!! I honestly cannot say enough great things about him! We looked at tons of wedding photographers and when we came across Tyler's work, we were blown away! If you are lucky enough that he is available for your wedding/event, book him immediately! You will not regret it. Our wedding and engagement photos are our absolute favorite photos of all time, and we cannot wait to book him for a maternity shoot!
Tyler went above and beyond for our engagement shoot and on our wedding day! Before our engagement shoot, my husband and I were nervous about looking awkward and posed since we've never done a photo shoot before, but Tyler made us feel comfortable right away and gave us all the direction we needed. All of our photos ended up looking so natural and we had so much fun working with him! Tyler also recommended the spots we ended up shooting at and they were absolutely stunning in the photos!
For our wedding, we didn't even give him a list of photos we wanted, but he was able to capture every special moment and all of our 275 guests! When we got our photos we were able to relive every single part of the day, and we couldn't believe how many great photos there were! Each moment and emotion was captured so perfectly. He knows how to get the BEST candid shots! He has such amazing attention to detail and the best ideas for portraits and group photos. All of our friends and family loved him and couldn't get over how beautiful all of the photos turned out! He was BY FAR our favorite vendor for our wedding!! My search for a wedding photographer was the most difficult. In fact, it was the first vendor I started looking for and the very last vendor that I booked. That’s how much time and research I put into it! Most photographer’s photos looked too basic or too photoshopped to me, what ultimately lead me to hire Tyler was his natural ability to capture tender, intimate moments and his ability to capture moments in low lighting. I had a romantic, candlelit wedding and this was very important to me. I had absolutely no idea the kind of service I would be getting along with these images…
On the day of my wedding, Tyler was on time, attentive, and friendly to everyone. You knew he was experienced. As you can imagine, we spent most of the day taking photos. He took the lead and orchestrated the day so that not one minute was not wasted. He gave us tips on how to pose, how to position ourselves throughout the day and night, for the first dance, first look, etc, and moved sofas, tables, chairs, you name it to capture the perfect photos. His professionalism and service was top notch. Not one bad thing was said about him and his crew. Coming from a Vietnamese/Chinese family, parents can unexpectedly be demanding but Tyler understood, and acted respectfully and calmly even when time was tight. Anyone that respects their elders is good in my book. The genuineness, attentiveness, and friendly demeanor of him and his crew prompted many people come up to me just to let me know how much they loved my photographer and what a good person he was. One of my bridesmaid even said, “Being in your wedding made me realize how shitty my photographer was.”
That’s to show how much TLC he puts into his work and perfecting his craft. Thank you Tyler for all that you do, please don’t ever change! I would hire Tyler again and again, he is a blessing to work with.
One piece of advice, don’t be cheap and skip out on the photo book! Let’s be real, who has time to make one nowadays anyways?! Don’t trap your photos on some drive until who knows when. Proudly show them off, so you don’t have to worry about the wedding after the wedding! -

Tyler did our engagement photos and wedding photos. I met Tyler when I was a bridesmaid in my friend’s wedding. One thing that stood out to me was when he said that they needed to take time out to take these wedding party photos now, because we wouldn’t have time once we get to the venue and they’ll lose out on a good photo opportunity. I really liked that. It was going to throw off the schedule, but Tyler recognized it as one of the last chances to get them the beautiful pictures that they wanted. It was blunt, but that’s what was needed. You want nice photos and Tyler can make it happen. He takes great pride in his work.
Tyler is organized and delivers in a timely manner. After the photoshoot or event, he would send a few teaser photos to start. Our wedding was in October 2014 and we received the whole file in February 2015. The wedding photos were categorized by events throughout the day, which made it easy to go through. We went with the Platinum Plus package that included a wedding album. I reached out to Tyler in April 2018 to let him know that I was finally ready to work on the wedding album. I was so happy that he still worked with me after 3.5 years. It took me a year to work on it. Tyler even followed up by email a few times in that year to make sure I was still working on it. After Tyler helped me edit three drafts, I finally approved my album in April 2019. He got the album ready for me within a few weeks. It was such a beautiful wedding album and I am so happy how it turned out.
Tyler is a workaholic and really quick to respond to emails. I would be surprised if it took him longer than 24 hours to respond. I appreciate his patience and professionalism through the whole process. I recommended Tyler to one of my best friends in her wedding in 2015. She was my bridesmaid so she knew what to expect. And I definitely would recommend Tyler to anyone interested in a wedding photographer. -

We were given a list of preferred vendors from our venue and, after looking at many photography-vendor portfolios, we instantly knew we wanted Tyler Vu. We were just amazed at the photography style and quality of Tyler's photos. After our consultation meeting with him, we hired him right on site. On top of his amazing photography skills, he has a friendly and outgoing personality! We hired Tyler Vu Photography to handle our engagement photoshoot and wedding day photography, and every expectation we had was exceeded. He gave us so many amazing photos that we had a hard time deciding which photos to add to our engagement and wedding books! Once we gave him our selections, he made the photobook-editing process so easy. Tyler is not only a SUPERB photographer but also a wonderful professional who provides exceptional customer care. From my initial email inquiry to directions on how to download my engagement photos, Tyler was very helpful every step of the way.
Tyler took engagement photos for my fiancé and I. Normally both of us are fairly awkward in front of a camera sticking to cheesy grins and facebook selfies. However, Tyler really helped transform us and guided us on how to pose, when to shift positions, and when to keep it candid. His knowledge about best angles, body language, lighting, and scenic backgrounds made every single one of our photos perfect.
It’s easy to see that this is Tyler’s passion. His attention to detail comes out in preparing for the photo shoot, while taking photos, and in the editing process. My fiancé and I felt comfortable the entire time and had lots of fun during the entire shoot.
I highly recommend Tyler for any future events that require professional photos. He is an all-star photographer and a wonderful person to work with. His work and care exceeded all my expectations and I look forward to working with Tyler again in the future.

Personable, detail-oriented photographer
There are simply not enough good things to say about Tyler. His work is impeccable, and he strives to capture the best candid shots. And his personality: hard working, personable, detail-oriented and fun. Tyler did our engagement photos in a park that I spent a lot of time at as a child. He captured some great images of my husband and I, and our dog, too! About 8 months later, he was also our wedding photographer. He and his crew worked so hard at our wedding, and had our schedule down to the minute. This allowed for photos at every opportunity! We got our photos back a few months later, and we were astonished. The exact feeling of our wedding was captured, and all the memories came rushing back - exactly what should happen when a couple sees their wedding photos. He grabbed a great shot of my grandfather and I dancing, which I will treasure for all time. We then went back to our busy lives, and even had a baby. Over two years later, we FINALLY selected the photos we wanted in our wedding album and submitted them to Tyler. He was quick to respond, sent us a proof (which looked so good that we approved it without any changes) and we had our album within a couple of months. With Tyler, it's the little things. Instead of having the album shipped to us, he arranged for us to meet for coffee. He got to meet our son, which was a special moment for us. He even snagged a photo of our 1 year old son looking at our wedding album. If you want a photographer who is not only skilled beyond measure, but also cares about the people he's photographing, look no further than Tyler Vu. -

Just got married last September, and had Tyler as our photographer. Words can't describe how talented, creative and professional he is. Tyler is also known for candid/moment shoot, so whoever hate posing for pictures, do not worry, Tyler will make it easy and pictures still come out beautifully. Me and my husband were so amazed after getting back our engagement photos. But we're even more impressed after seeing his production for our wedding; it was so incredible. I know with his talents and skills, he will definitely give us good and unique photos for the wedding. But it was much more excellent than what we expected. I can say it's beyond perfection :D. Honestly, me and my husband were so exhausted on our wedding day, and when we tried to reflect about it we couldn't remember what was going on that day. But Tyler and his team captured all the moments at our wedding, and the photos he captured tell us all.
Words can't say enough how much we appreciate Tyler and his team.

We set up a meeting and instantly knew this was our guy. they engagement shoot was fun and after seeing the pics we felt like we belonged on a magazine cover. He really captured our personalities and he's so creative. Our wedding day was no different. We got a chance to have some fun taking pictures and not be all stuffy the whole time. We were hunting for photographers high and low. Nobody's photos were exactly what we were looking for. Some were too posed, some looked like everyone else's wedding photos, and some just didn't have very good composition. We wanted a photographer that could take photos of us looking as natural as possible, while still looking awesome.
We found Tyler through our friends, whom also used him for their wedding. His portfolio was impressive, and we felt comfortable when we met him. His 11 years of experience also made us feel confident that he'd get some great shots.
We did an engagement shoot with him a few months after booking him, and the results were amazing. It looked so "us"! And we realized how easy he was to work with. At this point, we were sure we made the right choice.
We're so excited to see the photos from our wedding, and look forward to working with Tyler again (as a family!)
