  I contacted Tyler Gould literally the day of my engagement, begging for his help. He jumped in his car and beat me to the location, had everything ready and started snapping the moment we walked in.
  
  His prices were beyond fair, considering his skill, and he even had a few pictures edited and announcement-ready that day. My fiance and I look forward to him photographing our wedding this fall.

  Tyler did an amazing job. He was professional. Was there early, got shots others wouldn't have thought of and worked well with others. I got more than I expected.

  Tyler is amazing! His work is far and above anyone in his field! wow. I am so happy that we found him. He was so fun to work with and was giving us sneak peeks of the amazing pictures throughout the event. I can't wait until we get them all! He even worked with me and my budget when other photographers wouldn't! He is such a doll.

  Our Photographer, Tyler Gould was AMAZING! Our wedding had unexpected snow, which may throw off many photographers because of the white/brightness imbalances, but the exposures were absolutely perfect! Tyler went above and beyond in so many details, he flopped into the snow so he could get the best angles of our wedding party. Tyler had fantastic timing, was very courteous, and is naturally personable. He is also open to ideas you may have, takes direction (for example we had a list of relative we wanted portraits with, which he moved through very professionally.) He's awesomely creative too, so you'll end up with a variety, such as some fun closeups, laughing pictures, serious ones, ones with high contrast/shadows, all framed wonderfully. We are extremely happy with our end products-- our pictures are so beautiful. As a bride on a budget, we wanted to spend money only on the essentials, and I'm so glad we ended up hiring Tyler to capture so many beautiful moments.

  Darling engagement photos!

  A few months before our wedding we took a few hours with Tyler and had a great engagement session. He was great to work with and obviously had done this many times before. We were really happy with how the photos turned out!

  I was referred to Tyler by a friend who had him as their photographer at their wedding. I enjoyed the pictures that he had taken so I quickly set up a meeting to see if he was a good fit for us. He was very professional throughout all our interactions, but yet also had a fun, easy going nature that made him seem like someone we had known for a long time. Our wedding day threatened rain but we didn't have to worry too much because Tyler had scouted out many places in the area that were undercover but still unique enough to be beautiful for photographs. We received our photos in a timely manner and at the high resolution that my husband had asked for. I was so impressed with our experience that I recommended him to one of my good friends and she has already booked him for her wedding this year!
  
  Hindsight is always 20/20 and my only "negative" is that I wish there had been more pictures of the bridal party (we had two). I know for a fact that if I had been more prepared and had asked Tyler that he would have done that without hesitation. For going in with the attitude "shoot whatever moves you", I was very impressed with our photos and would choose him all over again :) Thanks Tyler!

  Tyler is GREAT. He's edgy and SUPER talented. He did our wedding and engagement photos in 2008 and I still keep up with him via Facebook, etc. I LOVE our wedding photos, but I'm convinced that his work has only gotten better over the past few years.

  Tyler was great to work with!

  Going into all this, we felt it was really important to have things captured well and by somebody who would be a relaxing presence rather than an added stress. Tyler helped us in many ways throughout the day, took amazing photos that he showed us previews of as we went along and we were so happy when we received the files!

  Tyler is an awesome photographer - he was very easy to book and accommodated all our needs and answered all our questions. He showed us a WHOLE wedding he shot at our location, which is really important because it meant he wasn't just choosing random good shots from a variety of weddings. He is consistent in quality. My only negative feedback is that in the week before the wedding he was a little unresponsive to my emails - but he did say he read them, just didn't get a chance to write back. He was punctual, professional, and easy to work with all day at the wedding. Definitely recommended!

  We booked Tyler for our engagement photos, and were potentially going to use him for our wedding photographer. Let me just say that Tyler is extremely talented, there is no doubt. His pictures are unique and amazing. He is also a very nice guy and we both liked his personality a lot. In the end we were just kind of impartial to our engagement photos although we received compliments. Our main concern was just the lack of communication. He is very busy and he took a lot of time to get back to us, which for us was just not acceptable when there are other photographers that will get back to us in a timely manner. I hear he might have an assistant now so maybe that has improved. Also-he told us a time frame for editing and it went way beyond that. I understand that people get busy, but I also know that he had time to edit other "fun" pictures on his flickr page and that just rubbed us the wrong way. Business is business and we paid money for our pictures. All in all, we enjoyed Tyler, he is talented, but I would recommend his services for commercial shots, photo shoots, etc. but not wedding or engagement shots.

  Thanks for your honest and balanced review. I'm so sorry as you hit me in a time of "critical mass" for my business, where I was getting more work than I could handle by myself, yet had not yet hired more help as I wasn't sure I could afford it.
  
  You are correct in that I now have added a few assistants on the editing side which have helped immensely in my time frames for return. I'm also currently in the process of assimilating a part time administrative assistant to help in responding to emails and phone calls more quickly.
  
  Thanks again for your review. While obviously the down parts sting a little, it affirms that now, 10 months after our engagement shoot, I'm making steps in the right direction by fixing customer service.

  Do not hire Tyler Gould for your wedding pictures. We hired him for our wedding in September as my husband knew him through many mutual friends. According to his contract we were supposed to get our pictures 6 weeks later. It has been over 4 months and we have no pictures. He will not return my calls or emails. After reading these other reviews I don't know how he is still in business. There are many other photographers in Portland that are professional and committed to following through. He unfortunately is not one of them.

  Wow. Our experience with Tyler Gould was a nightmare. When my fiancé and I inquired with him about an engagement shoot, he was more than happy to schedule with us. This review is not about Tyler’s quality of work, but rather his unprofessionalism.

  We spoke with another couple who paid Tyler $1800 to photograph their wedding and they haven’t heard back from him yet. Their wedding was over 6 months ago…
  We texted, emailed, facebooked, instagrammed, etc. Tyler repeatedly and got no response for months.
  After threatening Tyler with a lawsuit, he finally responded with this email:
  "I wanted to start by apologizing for how my lack of communication and general faulty communication skills have escalated this. This is no way an excuse. What I’m going through is not an excuse to be rude to people when I offer to give “extra” and am not able to give it. I feel some explanation is in order as to how I can appear to be so positive and negative at the same time. I’ve gotten behind on editing and I’m so tired of being in this position…having to tell the story and having people frustrated at me…because I really do care so much, but have been too overwhelmed to communicate well at times."
  I won't go on with describing the email but it was basically him apologizing and explaining why he was offering poor service, and taking people's payments without ever delivering the product.
  The unprofessionalism Tyler displayed was inexcusable.
  Overall, nice guy, nice camera, good photographer, but you will/may never see your photos. If you do use him, SIGN A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT WITH DATES ON IT FIRST. Good luck.
