I am so grateful for the amazing work our hair (Georgia) and makeup artist (Brooke) did on my wedding day! From the trial to the big day, they made me feel completely comfortable and truly listened to my vision and inspiration photos. The communication through the whole process was easy and super easy and fast! Georgia took the time to talk to me about what I needed for my hair extensions and how to prep them before my trial day to confirm I had what I needed. She even helped cut them to the perfect style. On the morning of the wedding, they were calm, professional, and so fun to work with. They perfectly executed both my hair and makeup, making me feel like the best version of myself without feeling overdone especially since I never wear makeup beyond light eyeliner and mascara, and it was my first time using hair extensions. I felt absolutely gorgeous all day! and my look stayed flawless from the ceremony to the reception despite the massive heat wave. I received so many compliments and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! I can't say enough about the incredible team at Twist + Co! From start to finish, they were professional and truly passionate about their craft. They captured my vision perfectly for both me and my bridal party. Lorie worked her magic on my makeup, embodying exactly what I had in mind. As for my bridesmaids, even though they weren't sure what they wanted for their hair, Audy created the perfect looks that suited each of them beautifully. I had Georgia, Brooke, and Andi as my team of hair and makeup for my wedding day. Georgia gave me the hair of my dreams and I got SO many compliments on it throughout the night. Andi did a great job on my bridesmaids and my flower girl was obsessed with her sweet hairstyle. Brooke absolutely killed it with makeup. Everyone told me I looked like I was glowing! Danielle did my hair and makeup for my wedding and it came out better than I could have ever imagined. I had sent some pictures for inspiration, but was overall undecided on exactly what I wanted and Danielle was incredibly patient in helping me figure out what I actually wanted. On top of that she was really fun to talk to, which I think is important when you’re spending that much time getting your hair/makeup done. I am still in awe in how pretty my hair and makeup was for the wedding and would highly recommend Danielle and Twist Studies for hair/makeup for any special event.Twist + Co.'s reply:

I had a great experience with Twist for my wedding makeup and hair. I got married in Cambria but lived several hours away in Los Angeles, and they juggled a lot of things around to squeeze in a trial for me the one weekend I was in town. When I wasn't crazy with my makeup trial, they offered to do another one the week of wedding with a different artist, and everything was a lot better. The hair stylist and assistant makeup artist were also top notch; everyone was professional, kind, skilled, on time, and very easy to work with. And the makeup and hair looked beautiful in photos! -

Justine Sent on 08/06/2016I had such an amazing experience with Twist Salon for my wedding hair and makeup. I came into the experience with some very specific ideas as to what I wanted to try. Danielle was hugely helpful both in catering to my requests, but also in guiding me as to what would and wouldn't work based on my complexion and hair type. In each case she proved to be absolutely right, and the end result was a look that was both exactly what I wanted and something that worked well for me. On top of that, I thoroughly enjoyed her calm and relaxed company on my wedding day, and would highly recommend her and Twist Salon. -

Mindy Sent on 10/26/2010Twist StudioSpa took amazing care of me, my bridesmaids and family members. They are offer big-city services and ambiance in our small wine country town of Paso Robles. All details were thought of for me, so the experience was extremely stress free.
Lorie, being the amazing professional that she is, insisted on doing a trial make up session ahead of time, which eased my mind tremendously. Upon the trial session she was able to assess other treatments I needed to ensure that my skin would be ready for the big day and be picture perfect.
They have this awesome bridal suite above the salon which we were able to rent for the two days allowing my out of town bridesmaid a place to stay and the bridal party a place to get ready. We were able to relax, not worry about our belongings, enjoy our Champagne and treats, and then send girls down when it was their turn for any service.
Kaylee, the wedding party coordinator, made great suggestions like making sure my girls had food and beverages from Piazza Bistro while we were getting done up. They set me up with a mini-chair massage the moment I arrived, which was awesome and totally alleviated any pre-wedding tension I had.
The entire staff made sure all of my girls, little and big, were taken care of and happy with their styling and make-up. We were graciously allowed to take pictures inside the salon also, which totally helped with out photography schedule.
Basically, I cannot say enough about how happy I was with every staff member and service Twist StudioSpa provided for my wedding and how they helped create lasting memories. -

My only complaint was that their timing was off and so some of the services were shortened significantly; however, the costs were adjusted accordingly. The services are pricey, but the quality of product and service are excellent. The salon is beautiful, and the staff is very sweet and knowledgeable. -

We cannot recommend this vendor to any other couples. This was the single most frustrating vendor to book and get a contract for. The payment approaches are bizarre - they requested a deposit they “forgot” to send back until a later time. Scheduling a hair trial was a nightmare - Saturday’s are always busy and Sunday’s were never an option, making it very difficult to get a trial as an out of towner.
The most troubling experience came during the trial itself a few days before the wedding. My wife arrived 30 minutes late after a five hour drive. Ultimately the lady who was supposed to do the trial was extremely rude and condescending to my wife and left without performing the service. Another stylist ultimately stepped up to do the trial, but it was an awful experience and no apology was every given nor was the bizarre behavior of the staff addressed at all.
The day of the wedding, the team that did come did a good job, but I am deeply disappointed at how this business operates and treats brides on their wedding week.Twist + Co.'s reply:

We do our very best to accommodate varying schedules for previews, although our business primarily occurs Friday-Sunday as we are in the wedding industry and it is our focus to ensure the bride booked has our undivided attention. Therefore, we conduct our previews Monday-Thursday.
We apologize for any misunderstanding about our preview process prior to the wedding day. In the beauty service industry anything past 15 minutes late requires us to reschedule most often, although we did our very best to accommodate the preview as you came from a far distance away.
We have taken your review into consideration, and will be updating our system to be more thorough for the best client experience. It was an honor to be a part of your wedding day, we wish the two of you a beautiful married life ahead!

I am not a picky person, I almost didn't even schedule a trial because any salon that does professional makeup should be good, right? I am so glad I did though. I traveled from 3 hours away to this salon for my hair and makeup trial ( my wedding will be in Paso Robles, Im from LA) on the day of my engagement photo session. I sent the salon photos of my inspiration, and also let them know that I am open to their recommendations based off of my skin and hair. On the day of my appointment, it turns out the stylist I was scheduled with was sick with the flu, and an attempt to find a replacement wasn't made until I had already arrived. The replacement they found though, I don't think was experienced in wedding hair and makeup, or makeup in general. It took four hours ( was quoted 2) and the end result was not what something I would pay for. The makeup was almost non-existent, it did not show up on photos I took of myself, and my hair was a messy hairspray nest. I never write reviews, but I am so upset with the quality of what I received, compared to their own photos, I had to say something. I am incredibly disappointed with the end result and would not recommend this salon for hair or makeup.Twist + Co.'s reply:
We are so sorry to hear you feel this way however I’d like to respond with a few things that were incorrect. The moment we heard your stylist was going to be out sick we got a replacement, she was just a few minutes late due to the adjustment and we do apologize for this inconvenience. That was out of our control. The stylist that was used for the replacement is a experienced senior stylist that has many rave reviews. It is alway our policy to offer a second complimentary trial with another stylist to find a better fit for you/your desired look, as we did. To be clear this is a trial you are reviewing, not a wedding day experience. This is exactly what trials are for, testing out looks and stylists to find the perfect fit and to ensure everyone is happy on the day of their wedding. User364034 Sent on 06/25/2010The worst experience I have ever had. I had my hair done and the lady dreaded my hair. I had to cut half my hair off. On top of that, she asked for help and no one else in the salon would help her. DO NOT GO THERE EVER........ save your hair! Also I would hate for this to happen to anyone on there wedding day. They have a beautiful shop but looks are deceiving!!! They also state they are a new salon when they were another salon in town but I can't remember the name..... but needless to say there is a reason they closed!Twist + Co.'s reply:
