Twigg's Bakery wedding cake

We hired Twigg's Bakery to make our wedding cake, and it turned out wonderfully! We were so happy with how elegant it looked and how great it tasted. We had sampled a couple other well known bakeries in the area, and we felt that Twigg's cakes tested the best, and at a more reasonable price! We would highly recommend Twigg's Bakery.

Beautiful, stunning, & delicious wedding cake

My husband and I found Twiggs Bakery after much online research and we could not be happier that we chose Twiggs for our wedding cake. Dan, was so wonderful to work with and truly brought our vision to life. First off, their cakes are ABSOLUTELY delicious!! We went to many cake tastings and Twiggs stood out for us.
At our wedding, we received multiple, raving reviews about how wonderful and delicious the cake was. The cake design was absolutely beautiful and looked exactly as we imagined and described to Dan and his team.
Really A+ service! We highly recommend them for anyone who is planning on getting married. We certainly will be looking to work with them for other events in the future.

So easy to work with, best value for what they provide, and delicious cake!

I taste tested wedding cakes at a few bakeries in San Diego but Twiggs Bakery had the best flavors, the largest flavor selection, and were wonderful to work with. I gave them an inspirational photo of a cake to use as reference and they nailed it! I was so happy with how my wedding cake turned out, and it was absolutely delicious too! Each tier was a different flavor, and they also provided delivery and setup including the cake toppers and florals on the cake. They made the process extremely stress-free! Would highly recommend them.

Beautifully Delicious

Our wedding cake was perfect! Delicious and absolutely beautiful. The whole process was seamless from the tasting to our actual wedding day. The cake was so good! Our guests are still raving about it. Dan was able to execute our ideas for the design perfectly. Thank you!

The most delicious , beautiful cakes with the kindest and talented team

We could not be happier with the team at Twiggs. They are super talented and make your vision come to life . The cake was not only gorgeous but tasted incredible and our guests wanted more! This is from someone who works at a high end luxury resort with very talented pastry chefs . Highly recommend you will be sorry if you don’t select them!

Delicious cakes for a "cake bar"

We had a "cake bar" at our wedding with a variety of cakes from Twiggs Bakery, along with a small traditional wedding tier for our ceremonial cake cutting, The cakes were all beautiful and incredibly delicious. Our guests loved being able to try different kinds of cakes and we got so many compliments on them.

Victorian Wedding Cake

Twiggs Bakery did an absolutely fabulous job with the cake. We did the Victorian Wedding cake for our three tier round cake and the Miss Hazeltine for the chocolate sheet cake. Both flavors were fan favorites! So good! The team at Twiggs Bakery was great to work with and super accommodating. I definitely recommend this bakery for anyone’s wedding cake.

Beautiful and Delicious!

I would definitely recommend Twiggs Bakery for a wedding cake. The website clearly sets out the prices, and it was easy to arrange a tasting. Everyone we talked to was really pleasant and helpful. On the day, the delivery was on time. Most importantly, the cake looked wonderful, and tasted amazing!

Wedding Cake

Our cake was beautiful, exactly how we imagined it would look!! They were easy to work with they set our cake up and put the topper on . It was perfect! The cake was delicious everyone enjoyed all the delicious flavors!!

Our Cake Was So Delicious

Twiggs impressed me so much. We did a few cake tastings and from the first bite of cake at Twiggs, we were like WOW, That is the best cake I have ever had. Big variety of flavors and all were SO good. We went with the coconut key lime flavor. Even people who aren’t “cake people” enjoyed the heck out of our wedding cake. Also, they were just so lovely to work with leading up to the wedding. Very personable bunch.
This should be the first place on your list to cake taste.
We actually last minute decided picked up a few cakes for the rehearsal dinner too as they were that good and I didn’t think any of my other rehearsal dinner dessert options would be as good as Twiggs.

Can't go wrong!

Twiggs was highly recommended by many of our vendors including our wedding coordinator and florist, and I can see why! From start to the end, Twiggs made the whole process seamless and easy. Twiggs' flavors were original and delicious. I wanted every single flavor haha! We went with Tiramisu for our wedding cake and it was really good! We had guests who were not into sweets, love our cake! I highly recommend Twiggs Bakery!

Twiggs made us a beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding! They listened to our requests for decorations and created something special. We ordered the Victorian cake- raspberry filling with buttercream frosting, really delicious! Looked great and tasted even better.

I'm so glad my wife was determined to have our cake made at this bakery. We went with a two tier square cake. One layer was banana with chocolate ganache and the bottom layer was white velvet with a cream cheese filling. Oh my was it ever amazing! Looking forward to our one year anniversary when we order a mini version of this to enjoy once again.

What’s not wonderful about a tasting with more than a dozen slices of yummy samples, thoughtful advice and planning, help implementing our ideas (we used our own platter and they asked us to bring it over so they could check if it could work and it did; had a consult directly with the baker, Emily, on how to select our own ribbon decoration)? My only suggestion is to follow up on paper work to confirm details. The final product was LOVELY and delicious, and instead of freezing the top layer for the first anniversary, we have been invited to order a fresh one. Yum!

Our tasting was so delicious we had a hard time deciding on just one cake flavor but we eventually landed on the Victorian Wedding Cake: rosewater brushed chiffon cake, with raspberry and buttercream. It was absolutely delicious, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. Our guests raved about the cake. Plus the staff is great. I highly recommend.

Loved Twiggs! They were super accommodating to work with and a great value! The tasting was such a fun experience. We ended up going with the Key Lime Chiffon and Miss Hazeltine's Chocolate Cake, which seriously is the best cake I have ever had. Would definitely recommend!

We had Twigg's cake for my brothers wedding in August and it was absolutely unbelievable. I actually still dream about it. It was light cake with lilikoi/passion fruit filling, absolutely perfect weight and texture for a summer wedding. Highly recommended!

I was so impressed with how the design turned out. When I walked into the reception room and saw the cake, it was just perfect. The flavor we selected was Tiramisu and it was delicious.
Working with Twiggs was simple even while they are quite busy.

Twiggs! What can I say? We ended up with left over wedding cake and I have never been happier. My parents live just down the street from Twiggs but it took me until wedding planning to realize they were there. The tasting: Amazingly, there was no tasting fee. They brought out a board with 15 or so cake flavors ranging from Victorian Sponge (which smelled like roses!) to a decadent chocolate and peanut butter and every single flavor was INCREDIBLE. We ended up going with 4 individual cakes both because I like the look of a full dessert table and because we couldn't decide on just one or two flavors.
We selected 4 different designs for our cakes out of their cake books and they took careful notes and drew up what we wanted but they were completely flexible when I changed my mind a few months later. I even got a call the week before the wedding to double check whether I wanted teal or turquoise piping. I wasn't at the venue for the cake delivery but when I got to the reception, the cakes were all set up beautifully and looked exactly like what I had ordered. And they were soooo delicious! Mitch did warn me that not all of the wedding guests would eat the cake and I'm so glad they didn't because we enjoyed devouring that leftover Mexican Chocolate cake when we got back from the honeymoon. Oh, the cake even tasted great after freezing it. I can't wait for our 1st anniversary to get another little cake from them. I'll be ordering all birthday cakes there from now on too! Mmmmmm, just thinking about Twiggs cake makes me drool! Also, their prices were super reasonable!

WOW! We could not be more impressed with Twiggs if we even tried.

For your tasting they bring out 15! slices of moist, delicious cake for you to try. My wife and I were indecisive and ordered three fantastic flavors: Banana Fudge, Chocolate, and Carrot. All were extremely delicious.

And the best part? It's easily 30-40% cheaper than other cake vendors out there. We will continue to go back here for other life events where we need something sweet :)

Twiggs Bakery has a great selection of flavors to choose from. For anyone looking for a delicious cake, with all natural ingredients and not too much sugar or heavy butter, this is the go-to-place! We have chosen passion fruit and it was very light, refreshing and decorated according to our specifications. Furthermore, the bakery serves great coffee. Make sure you try London Fog or Mocha.

I am a huge fan of Twiggs bakery, and even though we had a somewhat limited budget for our wedding, I knew my cake(s) would have to be from Twiggs! Not only do they have a great assortment of cakes to choose from, but EVERY CAKE IS DELICIOUS!! So much so, that we just had to opt out of the traditional tiered cake and go with 5 different cakes, each a different flavor, so we and our guests could enjoy them all! We chose Mexican Chocolate, the Hazelnut, Lemon Poppyseed, Tiramisu, and Carrot Cake. They were all frosted with traditional white frosting and our florist worked her magic on the decor. Our guests were absolutely in love with our cakes and was the topic of conversation at and after the wedding. :)

Twiggs not only makes great cakes, but they are really there to serve you and do whatever your heart and your budget can think of to make your event special. They don't have any other agenda than to serve you and make delicious cake. So happy with our choice, and you won't be either! Thank you Twiggs!

Twiggs was amazing and delicious. We knew it was the best choice after doing cake tastings at some other bakeries - they have the best mix of unique twists on classic flavors. We went with their passion fruit custard (our favorite), Mexican chocolate, and strawberry & cream cakes. They worked with us honestly to give us the best deal given our needs without attempting to sell us too much...even when our guest list increased and we were ready to pay up, they said that our original booking should still be enough (it was). We bought 160 servings for a 220 person reception.

We ended up doing a 3-tiered cake + 2 x 1/2 sheet cakes that were just cut and served but not displayed. At the last minute, we added on a small cake for a family member's birthday, and they were very accommodating. We had a design in mind that we loved on Pinterest, and they were able to recreate it flawlessly without any additional cost. They got our cake to us on time, were prompt with communication beforehand, and overall a dream to work with.

I just wanted a small cutting cake and Twiggs allowed me to get a simple two layer cake for 30 people. It was the smallest wedding-style cake (4 inch tall layers) I could get and the Mexican chocolate flavor is delicious. They also have a tray of cake tastings you can buy that I took home and shared with friends as we decided which one we liked. They were good to deal with and even noticed that my date was wrong in the order form! Which saved me bigtime!

We originally wanted a 3 tier traditional cake but later changed to small 2 tier cake, mini cupcakes and mini fruit tarts. Our order was perfect, the cake looked beautiful, delivery was on time and they were very helpful when I requested changes to my order. Everything was DELICIOUS!!! My favorite is the Mexican chocolate cake! On top of all that, their prices are extremely reasonable compared to other bakeries and they have cake tasting appointments on weekends. I can't wait to go back to Twiggs every year for our anniversary :)

We had both our wedding cake (victorian wedding) and a special secret groom's cake (Mexican chocolate) made by Twiggs and they were fantastic! Everyone we dealt with was so great, fun and easy - this was definitely one of my favorite vendors! Special shout out to Mitch and Gail for being extra awesome and doing lots of hand-holding and keeping the groom's cake a secret up until the reception!!! You guys rock and your cakes are gorgeous and delicious!

We are so happy with our choice to use Twiggs Bakery.

I was shocked all around at how expensive wedding cakes are (especially to feed over 150 people), but we found Twiggs to be reasonable in comparison to others.

We had a great time doing the tastings with Gail. There was no pressure to book, so we really enjoyed the experience. They have quite a variety of cakes to taste and they let you taste every one, free of charge.

We ended up going with a 4 tiered, square, passion fruit cake. It was delicious and the guests really enjoyed it. I wasn't there for the set-up, but when I walked into the reception, it was prettier than I had imagined, with the cake topper, design, ribbons, and the florals beautifully decorating it. Whoever set it up did a wonderful job.

One more thing I really liked about Twiggs, was the money-saving tips given to us. They did not try to upsell us. In fact, they suggested that we size down to a cake for 140/150 to feed our 170 guests, since not everyone will eat a piece and many guests will have left by then. They also suggested that we have it set out at a buffet table instead of delivering it to seats, because likely a lot of it will be left on tables wasted. Gail also suggested that we tell the site to cut the layers as needed and save the rest. They were definitely right. Even sizing down 20 guests, we ended up getting to take home our top layer and half of another layer. With the size of our wedding and the guests who left right after dinner, we would have been safe cutting it down by 40-50 guests. However, my family was very happy to enjoy the leftover cake the next day!

My husband and I tasted cakes from three vendors (not to mention the samples we tried at bridal shows) and Twiggs was far and away the BEST in flavor and price! We loved that at the tasting we were able to try all of Twiggs' cakes and icings. And not only did they offer a military discount, it was a GREAT discount! The staff is super friendly to boot. After tasting with them and pricing out our wedding cake, it was just impossible for any bakery to compete. We chose the passionfruit chiffon cake, which was light and airy and perfectly sweet but not-too-sweet. It reminded us of Maui, where we got engaged. Initially we were going to get a small two-tiered ruffle cake with an ombre effect. The price was amazingly affordable compared to what other bakeries charge for that style of cake. In the end, however, we changed to a simple three-tiered cake with a hand-drawn horizontal pleats AND added a round one-tier Chargers-themed groom's cake (Mexican chocolate cake with cinnamon buttercream)-- all for much less than the cost of a standard three-tiered cake from other bakeries! While the price is great, the taste is outstanding too, no sacrifice there. Our guests loved the cakes, and the Chargers cake looked great. We had quite a bit of leftovers, and the cakes froze (and re-froze, twice!) incredibly well and still tasted wonderful weeks after the wedding. Overall, we loved our experience with Twiggs and would definitely recommend them to other brides and grooms! I'm just sad we've moved across the country... Otherwise I'd certainly be ordering a mini version of our wedding cake for our one-year anniversary!

Choosing the flavor of our cake was difficult because we enjoyed so many of their options. By far the most reasonably priced cake we found, and so yummy! We chose a very simple design and they did a wonderful job creating it.

Twiggs Bakery was 1/3 bakeries that I did a tasting at, and when I tasted their cake I was 99% sure I was going with them but I have one more tasting. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff and the experienced guidance from the owners. It was very easy to work with them in person and via email. The quality and taste of the cake was amazing! I got tons of compliments on the cake. I went with a 3 tiered square cake with 2 flavors. The only thing I wish I had done different was pay the extra money for more sugar flowers or got a cake topper as plan B. I wanted flowers on the sides and as the topper and unfortunately I felt there wasn't enough flowers and it looked a little naked.

The place doesn't look very fancy, but the cake was delicious and exactly what we asked for. They have a unique "tasting board" which allowed us to try every type of cake and frosting. Great customer service.

Would give 6 stars if we were allowed.

We selected Twiggs Bakery for a wedding cake tasting based on previous Yelp reviews, and they did not disappoint. They take the time to do a very thorough tasting ensuring you experience the range of wonderful cakes they have to offer.

We selected them to make our wedding cake and could not have been more pleased. Baking is an art form, and Twiggs is a true master of the craft. We did a beach theme, and the cake decorations of edible white chocolate shells and coral were gorgeous! For our cake flavors, we selected strawberries and cream for the main cake, key lime coconut and lemon poppyseed cakes as our side cakes. The flavors were dead on, and the cakes were light, airy, and moist.

Twiggs Bakery made us a beautiful 3-tier wedding cake. Nima was a wonderful consultant and gave us many suggestions. We chose the white velvet cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting. They delivered the cake as scheduled to the venue and decorated it with pink roses and a cake topper. The cake was moist and delicious. Everyone loved it and the portions were larger than expected! Thanks Twiggs for an amazing wedding cake and we will definitely use you again.

First off this bakery did an amazing job on the overall look of our wedding cakes, I couldn't be happier. We had six small cakes all designed in different animal themes for our Wedding at the Zoo. The cakes were not only beautiful but the most delicious cake I have ever had. Our guests raved about how good the cake was. I'm so glad I chose them!

Our experience with Twiggs Bakery was great! The customer service and communication was top notch! Nima took excellent care of us, from the tasting to the wedding day! Every flavor of cake was fantastic and we had a hard time narrowing it down. Luckily, our cake design included cupcakes and we were able to use three different flavors. I could not recommend Twiggs Bakery highly enough, outstanding customer service and outstanding products!

Beautiful presentation, the stand was elegant and eye catching. We ordered a topper (white chiffon cake with passion fruit custard in the middle) Amazing!! Then we had cup cakes. Half were German chocolate cupcakes and the other half were white chiffon cake with buttercream frosting. People are still talking about the cake and cupcakes. Holy Goodness!! God Bless these bakers, most amazing cakes I EVER had!! Thank you for make my day end perfectly.

Twiggs is a cool place and a great bakery! We ordered our wedding cake from here.

We actually booked them in fall 2012 for our October 2013 wedding, as we were moving out of state and our wedding was becoming a destination affair for us! We set up a cake tasting with Twiggs after researching independent reviews like these, and we are so happy we did.

I had originally been attracted to Twiggs because I saw that their flavor list included chiffon cake, but in the end we fell for their Mexican Chocolate and White Velvet cake during our tasting appointment. We booked the deposit on the spot, and didn’t venture anywhere else!

It was great working with them via e-mail and phone call; very easy to communicate what we were looking for in terms of style.

Fast forward to the wedding day, and our cake turned out beautifully! We had them reproduce three colors, one for each of our 3 tiers, in frosted flat buttercream. The colors were perfect. Twiggs delivered the cake on schedule, and set it up as requested. (We needed some extra time as we were having our florist add fresh flowers to the cake that meshed with our floral design. We also were using a rented stand from a different vendor.)

We highly recommend Twiggs’ wedding cakes to other brides, grooms and event planners!

Twiggs did a great job with offering us different options outside of a traditional wedding cake. We picked "bon bons" and appreciated the casualness of letting our friends get up to get their own individual pieces. The owner was very nice, and sat and chatted with me about all the possibilities while I did a cake tasting. They also delivered the bon bons to our venue without any problems.

I had the most wonderful experience working with Twiggs for my wedding cake. We had a great time during the cake testing, they made us feel special (unlike other places where it was crowded and impersonal) and the cakes are all so delicious it made it hard to chose. They worked with me to get the perfect cake design and my wedding cake was delicious. All of our guests raved about the cake!

We went to 3 cake vendors before choosing Twiggs, as well as researching several additional bakeries. Twiggs was the only one that met all of our requirements: 1. Professional, 2. Reasonably Priced, 3. Tasty. We tried the French Gourmet which had delicious cake - but the whole cake tasting experience was horrible, as well as expensive. We then had a tasting at Baby Cakes - they had great tasty cake, but our cake sales manager did not respond to our question and never followed up with our requests. Twiggs was a perfect match and absolutely delicious!.

My husband and I love Twiggs so much that we eat cake there every week, and I still managed to fit into my wedding dress. We had our favorite red velvet cake as our wedding cake and it looked spectacular! I brought in a picture of the design I wanted and Twiggs managed to match it really well. Cake tasting with Bernie was the best part of wedding planning for me. Make sure you go with an empty stomach for your appointment :) We're looking forward to eating the leftovers when we get back from our honeymoon :)

Twiggs was truly awesome! The cake was phenomenal and everyone raved about it. Our tasting was wonderful and it was so lovely to be able to taste everything they had to offer (I think 20-25 cakes in all). We decided on the strawberries and creme for the 3-tier cake, as well as cupcakes in Miss Hazeltine with chocolate filling and Red Velvet with cream cheese filling. I also got a groom's cake for the rehearsal dinner in the shape of an Atari 7800 system. OMG it was INCREDIBLE!!!!! Seriously it could not have been more perfect. It came complete with controllers and a Donkey Kong cart. I would attach the picture if I could. :) The design was lovely and the Twiggs employees who delivered the cake had to battle with an uncooperative cake topper for what I'm told was about an hour (to no avail). But in the photos, it looked awesome (and I had no idea). I could not have been happier with this vendor and would highly recommend them! The taste, service and responsiveness is really top notch. Twiggs made our wedding cake and it was AMAZING! It looked beautiful, and it tasted even better. We tasted cakes from a few vendors at a bridal fair, and that's how we decided on Twiggs (there was no question, when compared to the other bakeries we tried). We had 2 flavors - lemon with lemon curd filling and carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Both were so delicious and moist, but the carrot cake was the hands down favorite of our guests.

The only thing I'd suggest is not ordering quite as much cake as you think you need. Our wedding venue plated and served the cake, and we wanted to make sure that everyone got a piece (or 2, if they wanted!) and we had a considerable amount left over. We had a bbq the day after the wedding, so most of the leftovers were eaten then, and then we froze some in slices for future desserts, so it worked out.

I'm very happy with how it turned out, and we'll be back.

We used Twiggs Bakery for our wedding cake and couldn't have been more pleased! The tasting was the best we had and honestly every flavor of cake was so good that we couldn't decide which 2 to pick! Delicious! This was our second bakery we went to for cake tasting and the last. We sat down Bernie who brought us a tray filled with slices of all the different cake flavors along with a side of the frosting. He walked us through every flavor, and they were all delicious! We settled on a white velvet cake with a lemon cream, raspberry jam filling and a buttercream frosting. The design was a simple one of ribbon, roses and swirls. When I saw the cake for the first time it was exactly how I pictured it and it tasted just as good. I can't wait for my anniversary to order a mini cake and eat it again!

My mom and I were recommended to Twiggs by our coordinator, Meaghan from Weddings Made Splendid. Right away, I knew that they would be the perfect bakery for our wedding! The tasting was incredible! They give you a small sample board that has all their cake flavors on it, and they even take the time to explain each flavor to you. Once they have explained all the flavors to you, they then leave you to try and sample and discuss, and boy were their cakes yummy!!!!!! That very day, we ordered our cake, in 3 different flavors, because we couldn't decide! I had fallen in love with a design in a magazine, which they matched perfectly! On the day of the wedding, the cake was amazing and exactly what we wanted! Their prices are very reasonable and worth every penny! I would absolutely recommend Twiggs to anyone!!!!

Our experience with Twiggs was more than words can describe! Our tasting was with Bernie and it was a blast! We could hang out with him for hours! Soooo fun! All the flavors to choose from... we were overwhelmed because every single one of them were delicious. We decided on the white velvet as my husband and I became addicts to this stuff! We live about 2 hours outside of San Diego and every time we drove to SD for wedding planning appointments, our top priority on our way home was to stop by to pick up 2 slices of white velvet, we would savor every bite. So you can only imagine how excited we were for wedding! About 2-3 months before our wedding, I wanted to do a grooms cake of the Dodger Stadium and emailed Dan (such a pleasure to work with) to see if they could work it in. He had a very busy schedule for our wedding weekend but was still able to fit this in. I was speechless! The Dodger Stadium replica grooms cake was AMAZING!!!! My husband just about fell over when he saw it and all his guys could not staring, taking pictures of it, and oooing and ahhhing at it. To Bernie, Dan, and your whole team - Thanks a million! We loved both our cakes and always will stop by when we are in town for all your delicious teas, coffees, and sweet treats!

Immediately after meeting the staff of Twiggs, I knew that they would be making our wedding cakes. We loved the format of their tasting - they present you with a small sample board with all of their cakes, they explain each cake and then leave you to discuss & taste. Their cakes are so amazing! We ordered cakes in 5 different flavors. I gave them a photo of the decoration and they matched it exactly. The cakes arrived on time...and were perfect! I have so much to say about Twiggs Bakery! They were absolutely wonderful. From the initial meeting to the day of the wedding, there were absolutely no problems. The cake tasting was one of my favorite days of wedding planning. Bernie was so patient as we tasted all the cakes, and he had so many amazing ideas for cake designs. I came up with a unique idea to have an orange tree going up the side of my cake and they came through with flying colors! The cake blew my mind when I saw it at our reception. It was so incredibly beautiful and creative. Everyone was commenting on it all night. It was everything I could have asked for and more. I'll admit that I was a bit nervous with such an odd design, but they made the tree look so classy and beautiful. It was just as I had pictured it for all those months. They were always available via email and when I came in with a question, the staff at the bakery were so helpful and put my mind at ease. They also offer a fabulous military discount which meant a great deal to me since my fiance was deployed during my entire year of wedding planning. I can't say enough about them. Don't even bother looking elsewhere!

I LOVE Twiggs! It is a block and 1/2 away from our hous and we love all of their baked goods but the wedding cake was INCREDIBLE! Our wedding guests are still talking about the cake after a year! We had 1/2 of the Mexican chocolate w/a hint of cinnamon and cayenne and 1/2 of the passion fruit. They decorated it to match our wedding invitations, it was elegant and beautiful! There was never a glitch or a problem, I wouldn't go anywhere else - they are true cake artists!

Twiggs bakery was delicious and the cake was beautiful! They have a lot of different flavors, and we chose the strawberries and cream (we requested fresh strawberries instead of the strawberry jam) and had a carrot cake sheet cake in the back. they were really flexible with the flavors of the filling (my now husband thought the cream cheese filling was too heavy, and they changed it to a lighter custard, which was still delicious). Delivered on time, and overall a fantastic vendor to work with.

Our wedding cake was fantastic!! Twiggs did an amazing free taste test with us several months before the wedding, and we tried about 25 kinds of cake...all of them were delicious. We went with both red velvet and the strawberries and cream for our multi-tiered cake and our guests all commented on the fresh flavor and how beautiful it was. We are a military couple, so the 25% military discount offered by Twiggs was also fantastic. Can't recommend them highly enough!

Dan, was fantastic to work with. Twiggs made both the rehearsal dinner (grooms cake) and our wedding cake. I had several special requests from Dan, and he was happy to oblige. I would like a special flavor, no problem; I want you to create half a death star over which you then will suspend a lego X -Wing, no problem; Can you make Mexican wedding cookies, sure. Not only was he flexible but he was creative, talented, and Twiggs makes delicious tastiness. Everyone loved both cakes (their red velvet cake is amazing!) and could not stop talking about how delicious the Mexican wedding cookies were. The price was also better than most places I visited, and were much more responsive than most other bakers I spoke to in San Diego. I highly recommend Twiggs!

Dan at Twiggs was very responsive which was very important to me since this was a destination wedding. My in-laws did my tasting and without a doubt chose the best cake vendor. We had passion fruit and lemon with fresh raspberries. Impeccably decorated, I strongly recommend this vendor! You helped to make my day absolutely perfect!

Twiggs Bakery was extremely helpful and professional from the initial cake tasting until the wedding day. The cake was absolutely gorgeous and so delicious. I choose three flavors: victorian wedding cake, hazelnut chocolate and white velvet. I ate all three at the wedding and everyone raved about the cake decor as well as how delicious it was. Many of my guests thought that the wedding cake was fake and we had the real cake to eat in the back somewhere. The cake decorating job they did was amazing. They worked on every detail and gave me the exact cake I asked for. I was extremely impressed with the results since my cake was semi-custom to a design the owner and I created together. I would highly recommend for anyone to use this bakery for any event. They are affordable, flexible, reliable, talented and bake the best cake I've ever tasted!

Twiggs makes a great cake. I had a picture from a magazine and they duplicated it perfectly. They also offer a military discount!!!!!!!!!!!

We visited 3 wedding cake companies...Twiggs stood out by far! The cake was just amazing and tasted great: actually flavor and no overpowering sweetness. In the end we had two tastings (the second with my husband...to confirm what the best man and myself had already confirmed: by far the best possible wedding cake option in San Diego!) and on both occasions dealt with extremely friendly and knowledgeable people who helped us make decisions despite only having very vague ideas of what we wanted at the beginning. I felt really well advised and listened too at all times.
I can highly recommend the passion fruit cake...we had our wedding on a boat and hence opted for a beachy/nautical team which prompted the Twiggs team to beautifully decorate the cake with handmade white chocolate seashells which were especially appreciated by our little guests.

Twiggs provided great service and an even better cake. Dan was very responsive and helpful. This was a destination wedding, so we couldn't have a cake testing (which made me sad), and we had to put our trust in Twiggs. The result was wonderful. Dan even sent me a drawing of what the cake would look like, and it was spot on. The cake tasted wonderful, and all the guests adored it. We went home with a lot of extra cake, and then my new husband and I caught the flu. For days I looked at the cake and couldn't eat it - I'm still upset about this!
We saved the top tier for our anniversary, and already I can't wait to dig into it.
Have no fear, this company is great, and provides wonderful cakes!

I am currently working with these guys to make a cake for our formal Marine Corps wedding we are hosting in San Diego. It was great that I could meet with them on such short notice and they were able to send home an at-home tasting tray for my fiance and I taste because he was at work. They're definitely great to work with and I'm looking forward to our final cake. I have no doubt it will be beautiful!

I was referred to Twiggs for our wedding cake by another friend who married in San Diego - she's a fellow sugar lover and I took her advice to heart. Oh man, we weren't disappointed. They were the only bakery we sampled cake from - it was that good. Don't get me wrong, I certainly wasn't in love with a couple of their cake flavors (I forget which ones, but I specifically remember a Victorian flavor one that was a little weird). But the two flavors we picked (lemon poppyseed and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting) were mindblowingly delicious. The cake was so good and moist, I told our coordinator that all remaining cake from the wedding was to come with us. There was so much left, it also provided a lovely dessert at the post-wedding brunch the next morning AND we got to take some home to enjoy the next couple nights (while still able to freeze the top tier).

It was the best wedding cake I've tasted, and they did a phenomenal job on the design (sorry, no pics yet!) with frankly not the best direction on my part. I would refer them hands-down to any bride in the San Diego area!

Twiggs bakery is so wonderful. Right from the start they impressed us. The cake tasting was awesome. We got a free drink from the cafe and he sat down with us to discuss the cakes/falvors and what we were looking or then he left us alone to eat the cake samples. They were all sooooo delicious! And then when we met again to discuss the design of our cake he came up with some great ideas and we never heard "no, I can't do that!" everything was a "Yes, we can do that for you!" they are very nice people and they work with you every step of the way. Great tasting cakes (I recommend Miss Hazeltines!) at a great price.

We haven't had our wedding just yet, but they were very flexible with our schedule in regard to cake tasting and selecting the cake. The passion fruit cake we selected tastes beyond amazing and we are excited to see how our cake turns out!

Our wedding cake was DELICIOUS and BEAUTIFUL! I can't emphasize that enough. We were thrilled with the product we received and cannot wait to dig into our saved top tier for our first year anniversary (a few times the hubby has tried to sneak into the freezer to get some icing, tsk tsk!). It's just that good.

We ordered a two tier passion fruit cake and a white chocolate chiffon sheet cake for our 80 guests, and they seemed to like having a choice between the two. The cost was very reasonable. Super duper loved the consultation and cake tasting :)

Their baker worked with us by letting us know how our toppers would work on the cake (we had some unconventional requests but it seemed to turn out well) and let us know fervently that he'd been doing this for 10 years and knew it would all work out.

The cake tasting was casual and friendly. They have numerous photos to look at to help you develop your cake design. Pick the one you like or choose elements from several or share your own unique design with them. They are willing to do anything you want. Cakes tast amazing! And the best part was they were honest and truly cared about us. They recomended geting a smaller traditional wedding cake for guests to see and then ordering an additional sheetcake to feed the rest of our large guest list. This was budget friendly and allowed us to have two flavors...chocolate for me in the sheetcake and strawbery for my husband in the traditional cake.

Delicious!

Twiggs was great in meeting our needs! My husband and I had a small wedding and decided to have a cutting cake with two dozen cupcakes. We were pleased with the selection that Twiggs had to offer, as well as the price and their availability to deliver to our venue despite our small order (albeit we did pay for the delivery, which we thought was worth it.) We had a carrot cake as our cutting cake - it was incredible! We are both huge carrot cake lovers with high expectations. We also had white velvet cupcakes and Mexican hot chocolate cupcakes, which were also very good.

We custom designed our wedding cake with Twiggs a few months before the wedding and placed a deposit. About 3 weeks beforehand, I confirmed everything via e-mail, and then the next week had to re-confirm details over the phone twice. I also paid the balance over the phone. We had our cake delivered and it was spot-on to every last detail and request!! The buttercream frosting was so light you could eat it all day and not feel full. The cake was nice and moist and we will be keeping the top tier frozen for a future anniversary! Thank you so much!

This bakery came recommended by my wedding coordinator. They had great service and spent much time with us to go over the cake flavors and even suggest some custom ways to make the cake suite our taste (literally!). I wish I could give them 5 stars but there must have been some kind of miscommunication, because the design of the cake was not exactly what I had asked for. I brought a picture to show an element of the cake pictured that I wanted on my cake, but they ended up just copying the picture and not reading the notes. However, the cake was still beautiful and tasted great!

I must say, our cake was absolutely delicious. It was perfectly moist, tasty, and creamy. To this day, my guests talk about how amazing the cake tasted-more than the actual food! And our wedding was on May 10! I will also say, however, that the woman we worked with initially was not very professional or "happy" to go through all of the tastings and the decision-making process with us about which cake to to choose. From the moment we began, she acted annoyed by our questions, was not patient with our need to consider all the options on their menu, and just seemed as though she was too "above" her job to help us with cakes. Thankfully, the owner/manager of the bakery followed up with the rest of the planning process, but that first experience was very memorable

We enjoyed our cake from Twiggs. It was beautiful and delicious! The only complaints were that they forgot we had paid during our consultation, so they called and asked us to pay again. We quickly got that straightened out though. Then during our wedding, we had expected two flavors of cake (one main cake and one sheet cake) but we only saw one. The cake was contracted through our venue (though we picked the bakery) so we aren't sure if they had to drop the extra flavor due to our final count or what. However, despite this, the display cake we got was exactly what we wanted and it was absolutely delicious!

I really enjoyed working with Twiggs Bakery. They let me have two different taste testing sessions, one with my brother, the other with my husband. They really work with you to get what you want. They are the best value for a cupcake wedding cake in San Diego! The only drawback was that I asked for pink cupcake papers, but I ended up with brown. A minor detail, but one that was important to me.

First of all I need to start out by saying the cake was delicious. I was a prior customer of the coffee shop and knew the quality of the baked goods. The flavor did not disappoint.

Now let's talk about the design. I met with one guy who was pretty nice. We talked over the design and I provided him with color samples and inspiration pictures. For the grooms cake I actually brought in the antique helmet we wanted duplicated. Leaving there I felt happy about my cake selection, especially with the very reasonable price tag.

I received an email with a drawing. It was close to what I wanted. So I made the note about the difference in design. Despite bringing the helmet to the consultation, I got a request for pictures. Ok, no biggy. I sent it over and that was that. The next thing I heard was the confirmation a week and a half before the wedding.

I confirmed that he received the pictures for the groom's cake, since I received no response email. He confirmed. The gentleman I talked to this time was a little abrupt. He asked me about flowers for the cake. I told him, as I told the first man during the design stage, that I wanted NO flowers on my cake. Paid my bill and that was that.

Flash forward to the day of my wedding. My planner walks me through the reception room and the first thing I see are flowers on my cake?!!! My planner confirms that my florist (who I also told no flowers) did not put them there or provide them. The folks who delivered the cake pulled flowers from other arrangements to put on top of the cake! Are you kidding me?! Remember that earlier note about the design being close but not exactly what I want....completely ignored. Remember how there were color samples, one of the three was not even close. My grooms cake? I was very disappointed. I gave them a brown aged looking helmet and I received a green dome.

Just thinking about the cake makes me mad all over again. Taste did not make up for how disappointed I was in the execution of my design. No flowers means no flowers!

*****Update - I received a nice apology email from Dan at Twiggs. He recognized what went wrong and did not that while they have fixed the glitches in their system it was too late for me. I did also have a fact wrong, the flowers on top of the cake came from a small decorative vase on the cake table. I appreciate the apology and gave them a few more points for that.*****
