Best decision!
Trung came highly recommended by our friends whose wedding he had shot in 2024. We hired him for our engagement shoot in San Francisco in March 2025 and wedding in Livermore in September 2025. He exceeded our sky-high expectations and was easily our favorite vendor. He captured so many precious moments, and almost felt like another wedding coordinator/bridesmaid/groomsman because he was so helpful throughout the day. His humor and overall demeanor made us feel really comfortable in front of the camera even though we are usually not at all. He made everyone look good and really captured some wonderful dance floor photos, which we didn't expect! We are so happy we chose him, and would not hesitate to hire him again in the future. -

Awesome photographer!
Trung is an awesome wedding photographer! Our wedding reception was inside a hotel ballroom, so we knew we needed to hire someone who could handle indoor lighting and 150+ guests. Trung and his assistant totally crushed it, capturing the energy and pure joy at our event. He was also upbeat, relaxed, and easy to work with. Now we have hundreds of fun, amazing photos to relive our day over and over. Highly recommend if you want to capture the fun vibes at your wedding. -

For those of you reading reviews trying to find a quality photographer, you can't go wrong with Trung! He's not only very talented, he's friendly and fun to hang out with, and went above and beyond in helping to run the show of our wedding.
Chatting with him immediately feels like hanging out with a good friend. He helped us feel at ease in front of the camera and positioned us in such ways to create beautiful photos.
He was also very professional, and had clearly studied our day-of timeline with impressive detail.
He even helped run the show our day-of! -- he helped the boys' with their boutonnieres, gave the bridesmaids tips on how to dry off their bouquets, coordinated an efficient execution of all of the family photos, and helped us move along during our table visits.
He even stayed a bit longer on his own accord!
Highly recommend Trung as anyone's wedding photographer :D

Highly recommend for all your photography needs!
Trung is an amazing photographer that me and my wife originally hired to take our engagement photos. Trung gave us an incredible memory with our photoshoot near the Golden Gate Bridge and nearby beach. We knew from that experience that we wanted him to photograph our wedding!
On our big day, Trung blended in seamlessly and was able to capture moments both big and small that told the whole story of our celebration. Guests commented on how professional and personable he was the entire evening.
I would recommend Trung for any of your photography needs. He delivers not only exceptional photographs, but makes the entire experience memorable.

Trung is an amazing photographer. He's professional and went beyond what we expected. He was our wedding photographer but also helped corral guests when needed, bustled my dress, and even packed along my husband's water bottle for us while we were taking portraits outside in the heat. He blended in seamlessly and we barely noticed him all night. My friends had nothing but great things to say about him too.
He has a more natural shooting stye (capturing the day/emotions and lighter on posing in specific positions for portraits). That said he offers fantastic direction to get a good face and body angles as needed so you're guaranteed to get great posed but natural looking photos. All of our friends and family looked great in the group photos too.
His skills are also top notch. I hired him for his editing style (natural colors, deep blacks, no weird desaturation/blown out whites) and skill in tricky, low light conditions. You'd never guess that our reception photos were taken under dim incandescent market lights. -

We hired Trung for both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding day. It was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. You only get married once, and the photos you get are going to be the few tangible things you keep from your wedding that you can look at on a daily basis. For such a special day, you can rely on Trung to capture all of the special moments for your big day.
Trung demonstrated early on that he has an eye for great shots. When deciding on our engagement photo locations, Trung helped us decide on locations in San Francisco that matched our vibe and all within reasonable driving distance. Although my husband and I have spent a lot of time in San Francisco, Trung recommended two locations that we had never visited which were perfect for our shoot — Ina Coolbrith Park (which had clear views of the skyline) and Baker’s Beach (which has amazing shots of the Golden Gate bridge).
As a photographer myself, it was clear that Trung had all the qualities of an experienced photographer. Trung excelled in taking beautiful candid and posed portrait shots. The ability to take good candid shots is so important as time goes by so quickly - especially during a wedding. Trung and his wife, Julie, did an incredible job capturing all the little joyous moments throughout my wedding day despite a tight schedule.
For the posed shots, Trung was great at positioning us in a way that made us look great and felt natural in our engagement and wedding photos. During the wedding, I appreciated the small things he did such as posing that showcased my bracelet, veil, and ring.
For our large group shots with friends and families, Trung demonstrated great crowd control and directed the groups in a quick and efficient manner. He maintained a calm, but firm attitude and helped manage the variety of different wedding guest personalities.
It was also clear that Trung paid attention to small details throughout my wedding day. For example, Trung reminded my bridesmaids to start blotting my bouquet when I was getting ready for the first look. This is important to ensure the bouquets aren’t given to the bride directly from the vase, so it doesn’t start leaking onto the dress. This is just one example of the foresight Trung had in making sure that our day went smoothly and that the photos would turn out well.
All in all, I have zero regrets about hiring Trung. He carried himself professionally, was easy to work with, and most importantly, he took fantastic photos of my wedding. As you can see, his work speaks for itself!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Trung! We originally found him because he had experience with our ceremony (Stanford Memorial Church) and reception (Allied Arts Guild) venues. He worked with us for a beautiful engagement shoot along the California coast, which was a great chance for us all to get to know each other. Throughout the whole planning process, he was energetic, organized, and attentive to our specific wants for the wedding day.
On the actual wedding day, Trung was absolutely amazing! He worked swiftly and cleanly through our list of family portraits while also capturing so many wonderful candids and unexpected details. He was very skillful at using natural light and texture to bring out the inherent beauty of our venues. We had multiple family members tell us after the fact that in the midst of the more hectic moments, Trung was ready with a huge smile, calm attitude, and some words of encouragement. Even beyond his obvious skill as a photographer, we really valued having someone that made us feel comfortable and excited about the process throughout the day.
We received a beautiful set of previews the morning after the wedding, and we can't wait to see our full album soon. Working with Trung was one of the best experiences of the whole wedding, and we hope to work with him again in the future! -

Trung was the perfect photographer for us on our special day. On the day of, with all the typical wedding stresses, Trung was extremely kind and helpful and demonstrated tons of experience to help us capture important moments. He was flexible with timing and small changes throughout the day. And the photos turned out beautifully and with such quick turnaround. Trung and his wife Julie are a dream team. We discovered Trung through a google search and instantly loved his photographic style and personality. We met with him over Zoom, and he was genuine, kind and straight forward (amazing how his personality came through a webcam). As my husband and I are both kinda awkward in front of the camera, we knew that we wanted someone who would be super chill and put us at ease; Trung was the perfect person.
He was extremely easy to communicate with throughout the process and answered all of my pesky emails thoughtfully and promptly. He sent us multiple examples of his wedding photography specific to our venue (not just the highlights! the full albums for each wedding) and what impressed us most was how he and Julie seamlessly captured both artistic portraits and priceless candids, with beautiful natural lighting and rich colors that felt real and timeless.
When I asked for videographer recommendations he shared his favorites and we ended up choosing Denis with Splendent Films - he and Trung have worked together before and we had an amazing experience with Denis as well. If you want a phenomenal videographer/photographer duo, we strongly recommend both Trung and Denis!
The wedding day was one of the happiest and shortest days of our lives! We cannot be more grateful for all the priceless photos which we will cherish for years to come. Trung sent us so many sneak peek photos just the day after the wedding, and we received the entire album under a month later. We recommend him and Julie to any couple looking for a genuinely kind, selfless, and talented team with a style that excels at capturing timeless memories, with each photo telling a story and helping you relive your wedding day. We will be reliving ours through the amazing photos for years to come. -

Trung is a talented, wonderful person to work with. He was so responsive prior to our session, reassuring, full of information on how to navigate City Hall during the pandemic and an absolute pleasure to work with. He was so fun and calming during our photo session that I didn't realize where the time went. We got so many beautiful shots, in so many different poses/locations/settings and it was one of the best photography experiences I have ever had. Between the shots, he kept us laughing and enjoying the day. Even after our session, when we needed an expert opinion on another set of photos, he was more than willing to share his thoughts. Trung is a great guy and just as talented a photographer. -

Our daughter and her fiance chose Trung as the photographer for their wedding this past June. WOW!!! Trung is amazing, both with his photography skills and his personal interface. His pictures were stunning. Amazing. Thoughtful. Romantic. How many adjectives do I get? :-) He caught some unexpected candid moments and had some wonderfully framed pictures. He interacted with the families and guests so well! Very easy going and made everyone feel comfortable and not forced in the group pics. Early in the planning, he urged us to take sunset pictures. His great experience with this type of photo left us with some gorgeous, jaw dropping shots of the bride and groom.
We were hire him again, with no reservations. He is a true gem and all around great guy too! Hats off to Trung. -

We choose Trung for our special day of the wedding at Allied Arts Guild, in Menlo Park. We had a small intimate wedding ceremony. Trung took each precious moment and captured it in time for us to save and cherish it forever.
Trung is incredibly talented, and his photos are authentic, romantic, impressive and just fabulous.
His work speaks for itself. I have some photos uploaded. But let me talk about how easy and memorable it was to work with Trung.
He makes you feel at ease and comfortable during your session, you completely feel you can be yourselves!
He put so much effort into making us feel relaxed and making memories all while capturing beautiful photos!
With a unique photo style, every moment is so accurately expressed, the love and passion he captures in his art is so incredibly amazing.
Trung is fine art style of photography that really makes you feel all kinds of great emotions!
He is very creative and knows how to direct you without making you feel awkward or uncomfortable. Our session with him was light and fun, and most importantly, personal!
We loved all the photos that came back to us! He was super quick in his responses and very helpful and informative.
We couldn’t be happier with how our photographs turned out!

Trung was an amazing photographer to work with, and the easiest of our vendors to work with. He and his wife, who typically shoots with Trung, came to the venue to tour it with us and get a feel for the area. His communication and organization are top notch. Most importantly for my wife who is camera-shy, Trung is great at making people feel comfortable around a camera, and directing poses and looks that he thought would be nice.
As a hobbyist photographer, some things I really appreciated about him are he is someone who is completely ok with you taking the digital files he gives you and editing them yourself, which some photographers do not allow. He also takes amazing landscape photos, and brings those skills and artistic sensibilities into his editing and wedding photography.
Other things about Trung:
1) Punctual
2) Flexible (our wedding ended up running behind and suffered a blackout at the venue, both of which he took in stride)
3) Captures great photos, posed and candid!
My wife and I would hire Trung again in a heartbeat! -

Easy and Beautiful
Trung was such a wonderful photographer! I made sure to let him know what photos I wanted to get and he made it happen. At one point it started drizzling harder and we were able to move so quickly through the family photos and got each combination we were hoping for. He helped wrangle our large bridal party (10 bridesmaids, 6 groomsmen and a flower girl) and truly helped make our day special. He and his partner captured such beautiful moments that we will cherish forever! Definitely recommend!! -

We worked with Trung for both our engagement photos and for the day of the wedding, and we could not recommend him enough. Our photos were beautiful, and looked very natural and not overly posed, and really captured the raw energy and emotions of our guests that day. Aside from taking great photos, Trung is always going above and beyond expectations with great attention to detail. We didn’t have a day of coordinator, and Trung didn’t hesitate to jump in as needed during the day to help us usher folks into the reception room, etc. to help the day go by smoothly! He made everyone feel comfortable and our friends and family loved working with him. We got sneak peek photos the very next day, and the full set was delivered in under 4 weeks, where he took extra care to make sure they landed in our inboxes just hours before we landed from our return flight at the end of our honeymoon. Overall just a super professional, fun, thoughtful, and talented photographer that you won’t regret hiring! -

City Hall Wedding
Trung exceeded our expectations for a photographer. My now husband and I opted for a very low key wedding at SF City Hall, but wanted to have nice photos to remember the day.
We “splurged” on getting a professional photographer, but really we got an outstanding deal for the quality and professionalism delivered.
Trung knew exactly where to have us stand for optimal lighting, and how to have us pose while still looking natural. Since he’s had experience with city hall weddings, he helped walk us through the process and where to go. He also stretched the amount of time to more than what we agreed on to ensure we got all the photos we wanted with our families.
Overall, 10/10 experience; would recommend to anyone! -

Trung is incredible! He is extremely professional and personable. He responded to all e-mails in a timely manner and took the time to discuss things with us and give advice. He has been a joy to work with before, during, and after the wedding. Also, all of the family loved him. I have received multiple phone calls from aunts and grandparents about how great Trung was. Not only was he a pleasure to work with, all of our photographs are beautiful. My husband and I are not photogenic and Trung took the time to get the posing and lighting just right. We were thrilled with Trung throughout the entire process - from planning to the day-of to the final products. He really shined on our wedding day. He was fun and personable, which helped put everyone at ease. He was able to make the family photos happen quickly and they looked great. He and his second shooter managed to be everywhere during the wedding while blending in seamlessly.
He turned the final photos around quickly and they are wonderful. His online albums are nicely organized. It's easy to access and share the photos. He took a great mix of portraits (that don't look too fake/posed) and candids. And, his prices are reasonable in the scheme of Bay Area photographers - and the quality of his work far exceeded what we saw from more expensive photographers. He exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend him!

Breathtaking photos
Photography was one of those vendors that we had to tirelessly sift through and consider. We are so lucky to have found Trung because he truly delivered on the best photos. He is super easy going and got my husband and me to look so effortless which I know wasn't an easy feat. We were shy in front of cameras and didn't know how to look pretty or natural. Luckily, he brought the beauty out of us. His pictures were so amazing that and I loved how professional he was with us and with our family. He was super quick on getting photos back to us too! The next day, we got several sneak peeks. Then within a month, we got our entire photos! We love them and we are so thankful to be working with him. You can look through his portfolio and see the types of photos he delivers. They are literally works that could be in magazines! -

Amazing Photos
The husband and I decided to elope at SF city hall and booked Trung to take some simple shots for us and we could not be more happy with the photos we've just received! Everything worked out perfectly. Trung was easy to book, answered all of my questions in a timely manner, came to the shoot on time, and captured BEAUTIFUL moments of the day. The fact that he had previous experience at city hall was a huge plus. Best of all he's got you covered if you're not great at posing/taking pictures like me. Trung was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Besides the incredible photos he provided in a timely manner (more on that below), he was also consistently communicative and present: having him at our wedding helped keep us comfortable throughout the day. Weeks, days, and hours before the wedding, Trung coordinated where/when to meet, helped iron out plans in case of rain, helped us pick out venues to take photos in, etc.
He captured beautiful, candid moments but also provided enough structure to get all the photos of our families and friends that we wanted. It was the perfect balance of staging and capturing genuine moments. He made sure to get the required staged family photos but also turned our quirkiness into some of our favorite photos (like when we unexpectedly came across a vending machine). He and Julie were always there when we wanted a photo, but never in the way—they only ever added to our day.
And, of course, the photos they took were beautiful—consistent in quality but with a variety of styles and effects. They took a stormy and rainy day and somehow made it romantic and intimate. They scoped out the best tiny spots of the venue before the day--spots that we hadn't seen even having visited multiple times! But more than that, they captured the feel of our wedding perfectly. It was chaos, hilarity, and love; that was all captured in the story of photos Trung sent us! -

Jose Sent on 08/18/2018This review is long over due! I hired Trung to be my photographer for my wedding at the Presidio Golf Course in San Francisco. For a day that is usually stressful for the bride & groom thinking of things that could go wrong, it was a relief that by hiring Trung, photography turned out to be completely stress-free. There was absolutely no need to wait on Trung to arrive at the venue as he was already there when we showed up to take pre-wedding pictures at our agreed upon time. He took hundreds of varied pictures of ourselves and our friends/family throughout the ceremony/wedding reception and really captured the moments that mattered. Trung mastered the art of blending in as well as I rarely noticed when he was taking pictures! I also have to note that Trung stayed a little bit extra than our contracted time due to our cake cutting session running behind schedule but he was such a good sport about it. Overall, I was impressed with Trung's professionalism and quality of work; I would highly recommend using him for weddings or any occasion for that matter.

Truc Sent on 08/15/2016Trung Hoang was our photographer and my husband and I are extremely pleased with the photos Trung took at our wedding in May.
We loved his portfolio and his style of photography (more photojournalism rather than overly posed) and knew that we wanted a photographer who could capture all the little details that we were going to miss while we ran around with all the various wedding activities that needed our attention that day. We were even more sure after meeting Trung and found him easy to talk to, fun, and laid back and got a chance to see more samples of a full wedding shoot and his printed books (very nice quality).
On the day of our wedding we had Trung and Julie, his second shooter, booked for ten hours and they worked hard the entire time. Trung managed to find the perfect backdrops for our first look and other portraits we took throughout the day. Some of our portraits are along a busy walkway but you can't tell at all by the way he framed the shots.
Trung delivered photos quickly and sent us a nice package with a flash drive, a framed portrait of us, and a small box of printed photos. We plan on having Trung put together a book for us (a few copies will make great gifts for the parents) and he provided a proof very quickly.
We have nothing but praise for Trung Hoang Photography and definitely recommend him to any couple looking for a wedding photographer in the Bay Area or beyond (he has great travel/landscape photos too!).
