Amazing DJ!!

I cannot recommend Jim from Tropic DJs enough! He is such a kind person, has great energy, and was extremely easy to work with! He helped us make our big day absolutely perfect!

We couldn't recommend Varsity DJs more!

DJ Gary was incredible to work with throughout the entire wedding planning process and did a fantastic job on our wedding day. He is extremely responsive and will personalize your day to match your music interests. Our dance floor was packed the entire night and this was what made our wedding day as fun as it was. He helped cut songs for first dances and even made a mash up of songs for my Dad and his friends at request. We couldn't recommend Varsity DJs more!

Great Destination Wedding

We used Tropic DJs for our destination wedding on Clearwater Beach. They were incredible, even helped us with the planning process, timeline and referred a couple more vendors who were also excellent.

The Best DJ in Clearwater!

They were highly recommended by our venue on Clearwater Beach. They helped us with many details that we had not even considered. And on top of that, they were awesome DJs and kept everyone happy and dancing all night.

They Saved Our Wedding

We were in a panic! We listen to a stranger recommended DJ on Facebook and it was a major mistake. They made us pay in advance since it was a great price. But then a month later disappeared and we couldn't get a hold of them for six months! Finally, we panicked and gave up and our venue recommended we contact Sparty DJs. It was last minute so Jim himself was our DJ and we were blown away with the service and how happy he made our guests.

Fabulous Wedding DJ!

We hired Tropic DJs for our wedding and Jim was amazing! Great communication leading up to our event and the perfect DJ, his music choices kept the party bumping and our guests loved the photo booth we added to our package. We also added an extra speaker for our ceremony music and the whole process was seamless. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a wedding DJ!

Kept everyone very entertained throughout the night.

Gary did an amazing job at our wedding - The Ceremony music was great. He used our props in the right moments, and kept everyone very entertained throughout the night. Our dance floor was packed the entire evening. I would recommend Gary from Tropic if you are looking for a DJ for your wedding!

Jim was fantastic!

Jim was fantastic! He was easy to communicate with and knew exactly the ceremony and reception vibes I wanted just from the few notes I gave him. Everyone of all ages loved the music and danced all night long! I also highly recommend the dance floor lighting!

Would strongly recommend Tropic!

With as much experience as Andy has, we knew we were in good hands - and he did not disappoint. We left most of the musical decisions up to him, and he of courses kept the dance floor going the whole night. He was extremely professional and took care of the emcee and DJ responsibilities while only having to ask us a few questions. I would strongly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ.

Best Choice Ever!

Choosing DJ Frank with Tropic DJs was my husband and I’s quickest and easiest yes. After the initial convo we knew he was our guy. Everything was so easy and smooth, the website is great and he took the time to ask us what we liked and what we didn’t, we mainly have him free range to play whatever he wanted. We did have a few international songs that were a wild goose chance to find but took on the challenge and made it happen for us.
The wedding night was absolutely perfection, the dance floor was full the whole night and we just didn’t want it to end.

We were very lucky to have Jim himself!

We were very lucky to have Jim himself come DJ our wedding! He was superb and had everyone dancing until the very last song! We had such a good time, we did not want it to end as there was always a song to dance to. I would have to say that Jim's entertainment helped make my wedding a lot of fun and I want to thank him for that!

Best dj i have ever heard

BEST DJ I HAVE EVER HEARD, Sorry to say but most DJ's for weddings are not fun and talented, but ours was!!! Our guests danced the entire night, we though we'd have to encourage them to get on the dance floor and as soon as the father/daughter mother/son dances were done, the entire floor was immediately filled, we were so confused!!! It was awesome!!!!!

Great to work with!

Working with Tropic DJs was seamless from beginning to end. I worked with Jim Hargrove through all of the details. He was extremely responsive, which I appreciated! Jake, who actually DJ'd for us at the reception was polite, professional and followed instructions to a tee! Jake had everyone on the dance floor and all had an amazing time. Easy to work with and super accommodating!

Steve was fantastic. He was a great communicator, made sure everything went smoothly, and kept us informed before and during the event. People also really enjoyed the uplighting, which Tropic offers. Highly recommend.

I didn't have to worry about a single thing!

Jim was phenomenal! From the moment we first chatted over the phone he just exuded fun, positive energy and was a joy to work with throughout our planning and especially on the day! He played all the songs I requested and kept the dance floor going all night! I'm not a huge fan of the spotlight dancing in front of people so I did cut my first/father-daughter dances a little short and he just totally rolled with it and seamlessly went on to the next thing. He did all the announcements of things for us and has that perfect announcing voice that commands the attention of a room (maybe a weird compliment but it came in handy for us!). In general, I didn't have to worry about a single thing!

Justin was absolutely amazing for our wedding! A DJ can certainly make or break the reception, but he is one that we would pick a million times over again. He was extremely professional, accommodating, and has so much experience that it truly eased any worry. He did his research on our venue to make sure the acoustics were perfect and kept the dance floor going all night long! Thank you so much for making our night a dream!

Tropic DJs was so amazing at our wedding! They have amazing packages, like dancing on clouds (it was so pretty), and a fun Photo Booth! There were always people on the dance floor. They know how to have a great party! I 1000% recommend this DJ to anyone! They made it so fun and special! They are great at communicating and letting you know what’s going on and they knew exactly what we wanted and did everything perfect!

Tropic was the very best decision for our DJ

Jim from Tropic was the very best decision for our DJ. From the responsiveness of requesting a quote to the ease of booking, I couldn't asked for better service. Our DJ, Jim was the best. He kept everyone dancing all night and actually saw some timing issues that I hadn't thought about and adjusted easily and kept the evening running so smoothly.

Found out about Tropic through a friend

We spent a lot of time looking for a DJ. Found out about Tropic through a friend. I've now heard two of their DJs and they have a great setup. Jim worked with us to also customize music for our first dance. If you need someone, are reading a bunch of reviews, and not sure. Just go with Jim I promise he will make your wedding awesome.

People were on the dance floor the entire night!

Jacob was the DJ at our wedding and investing in him was one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. He was always willing to meet and answer questions prior to our big day and he even took the time to send us our first dance song that had been cut to our liking since we didn't want to dance to the whole song, but still wanted our favorite parts included. He did a great job managing the ceremony and people were on the dance floor the entire night. I would HIGHLY recommend choosing Jacob as your wedding day D

Very helpful throughout the planning period and easy to reach

I was very pleased with Gary, every time we met up with him to plan for the wedding he was professional and friendly very personal and that’s what we really liked in him. He gave us a vibe that left us comfortable knowing that he was going to get the job done. He was very helpful throughout the planning period and was easy to reach if we ever had any questions about the event. The day of the event the lighting was beautiful it really set the scene. It was exactly what I was expecting and everything I could ever ask for!

Everyone truly had a BLAST

We loved having Andrew as our DJ. Truthfully, I forgot to send him our full playlist and last minute gave him full freedom and I can’t recommend him enough. I would say our dance floor is still something that our guests talk about. Everyone truly had a BLAST and when encouraged for an “encore” Andrew rose to the occasion and kept playing for our guests. Everyone stayed late and danced their hearts out!

We used Jim Hargrove as our wedding DJ. He was amazing. He understood what kind of music we wanted to play for each part of the wedding. The ceremony music was timed perfectly. He then continued through the cocktail party and dinner with songs that added to the happiness in the venue. I had told Jim that I wanted everyone on the dance floor the entire reception and he delivered. He took the 5-10 songs we sent him and turned it into a night of fun and dancing. He was so good at feeling the vibe and playing songs to continue the celebration. I recommend him to all of my friends now!

Nate was absolutely phenomenal!

Nate was absolutely phenomenal. Not only did he meet with me twice to go over the music, he politely dealt with my controlling self with nothing but kindness. As a teacher, I had pre-planned what 15-20 songs I had to have played on our special day. Nate always gave his honest opinion and was able to get a sense of what kind of feel I wanted at the reception. He gave great advice, and was just a genuinely kind guy to sit across from. In the first few minutes, I knew I was dealing with not only a professional, but someone who would truly want to execute our day to perfection. Nate did that for us, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Where do I start with Jim Hargrove! Not only was he so much fun and organized before our wedding, attending planning calls, and being so thorough, but he exceeded every single expectation we had for our wedding day. To say he kept the party going would be an understatement. He played all of my requests, while understanding exactly what the crowd wanted. Our dance floor was PACKED all night thanks to him. Justin was fabulous. He was set up and ready for our ceremony despite some last minute chaos due to a little precipitation. He assured us he was ready for whatever and supported our decision on where to hold the ceremony. Absolute best wedding DJ

David from Tropic DJs was the absolute best wedding DJ I could have ever dreamed of. He made the night absolutely insane and truly knew how to keep every guest on the dance floor. I wasn’t the best with giving him suggestions before and basically only listen to country music and emo music aka extreme opposite genres…. BUT crushed it. Still 2 weeks later people are complementing me on our DJ, and I can’t tell you how many people said “best DJ ever”. Would recommend to literally everyone and their mother ! And on top of that his company did my lights and they were simply beautiful!!!!

Tropic DJs recently provided the music at my daughter’s wedding reception, and Jim was fantastic. Not only is he professional and talented at his job, he held my hand through the whole process and offered me and my daughter invaluable advice, based on his years in the business, giving us tips and do’s and don’ts that really made a huge positive impact on the whole experience. I would use him again in a heartbeat, and cannot recommend him highly enough.

Pleasure to work with during wedding planning

We had Jim Hargrove for our DJ. He did an amazing job! Everyone couldn't stop talking about how awesome of a dj he was! I have 3 friends from our wedding that are now going to book Tropic for their wedding because of what a fabulous job he did! He was so accommodating even when I had last minute requests! We were extremely pleased with everything. They were a pleasure from the very beginning from meetings to the wedding. It was so nice to have such confidence in your dj because they were such a pleasure to work with during wedding planning.

John was an amazing DJ!

John was an amazing DJ! He really knew what kind of music we wanted played at our reception after meeting with him a few times. Everyone had such a good time at our reception because the music was so great! I would highly recommend having Tropic Djs your reception or event!

Great music for our multicultural wedding

We had a great experience with Tropic DJs. Our DJ was Gary and he did a fantastic job mixing music for our multicultural wedding. The last hour of our wedding was basically a millennial rager and our dance floor was packed the whole night!

Get the photo booth too!

We got so many compliments on our DJ Jim Hargrove, kept the dance floor full the entire night! He knew exactly how to keep the crowd entertained and everyone loved him!! We ended up also renting a photobooth and it was the best decision we made. Our guests loved it! We were so happy so see all of the things we missed that night since we couldn’t be everywhere at once

From establishing a quote, to preparing the months before, to the actual day. Tropic DJs and Jim were phenomenal. The team was great, so professional, worked within any budget (respected the budget too), and provided suggestions/guidance to ensure our wedding day was the best day ever. Gary fully understood the assignment!

Gary fully understood the schedule, and he executed all of the cues perfectly. He was a great MC, and he kept the dance party going all night to send off! He was flexible taking requests from guests. He helped guests remember a line dance, and he danced with them until they got into the swing of it.

Gary was better than we could imagine! This was our first time hiring a DJ, but Tropic's reputation among friends and professionals in the industry made it an easy choice. Even though we were in Sarasota and Tropic's offices were in Ft. Myers, Gary's professionalism and availability throughout the planning stages gave us full confidence in him come wedding day. Jim H was very easy to work with!

I had Jim H and he was very easy to work with. He was able to get people dancing at the end without any alcohol. He was also very helpful in making announcements. I've been to other weddings and during the major dances there's just like an awkward ending, but Jim was really good at fading out the music when the dance had gone on long enough and this made things move really smoothly.

We had such an incredible experience working with Jim from Tropic DJs. From the weeks leading up, where he spent time to talk with my fiancé and I to understand more about our day, to the day of, he was a pleasure to work with. We had several transitions inside and outside at our wedding and he made them all so seamless. The music selection was absolutely perfect. People even commented on loving what was playing during cocktail hour and dinner- let alone the reception where he kept the floor packed for hours!

Our wedding guests raved about Tropic DJs! He did a good job with the cocktail hour music and the dinner portion of the reception. The reception music wasn't exactly what we were wanting, but he would pivot when told that we would like the song to be changed or if we wanted a different vibe. It was nice having that flexibility!

Jimmy with Tropic DJs!!!!

Jimmy with Tropic DJs kept the party going. He was super easy to work with and accommodated all our requests. The dance floor was alive the whole night and he played all of our requested songs. Sparty provided all the sound equipment for our outdoor ceremony and our guests were pleasantly surprised at how well they could hear our officiant and music. We hired Tropic DJs for our DJ for our wedding reception and were lucky enough to have Justin. He was GREAT! Not only did he set up phone calls with us to get a clue on what we were looking for and to get a feel on our personalities, he really did an outstanding job during the reception. I was super impressed by how early he was there to set up! He moved the evening along, just as we discussed before hand. He played a healthy mix of what everyone wanted to hear that accommodated both us and our wedding guests. He was super flexible and was able to make changes on the fly, which was super impressive! I'm super sad the night is over, because I would definitely hire him again!

Seriously, Jim made our day. People said our wedding was the most fun wedding they'd ever been to, and I blame that on Jim. He was professional, fun, and worked with us to give us exactly what we wanted. He even sat down to review every song (complete with edits) to ensure the music was perfect prior to the big day. Big team player

We worked with Jim. He was a big team player, very friendly and professional! Sometimes it requires a quiet environments for bride and groom to read private vows before guests arrive. DJ was requested to mute the sound (during his sound check) and he did it without being aggravated. When we needed something, we didn't had to look for him, Jim was there all the time.

Tropic DJs was perfect

From start to finish our experience working with Tropic DJs was perfect. We booked our DJ and lighting through Jim, who was fantastic to work with. The lights were set up at our venue (a beach house we rented for the week) a few days before the wedding which was so nice because we were able to enjoy them for a few extra days and they even stayed up a few days after the wedding so we could enjoy them even longer. The chandelier over the bar was a really nice extra touch and helped dress up the space! As for the music, Jim killed it! He was very attentive leading up to the event and made sure he understood the timeline and our requests. He did an amazing job coordinating the music throughout the entire day and the dance floor was packed the entire night.

Jim filled in as our wedding DJ one week out from our big day. He took charge, immediately checked in on what we wanted, and then absolutely knocked it out of the park. We wanted to be able to specify our playlist ahead of time and not have to worry about anything music-wise on the wedding day (tacky wedding songs being played, etc.). Dual Wedding Success

DJ Justin was the DJ for my wedding, which was a dual Indian-Western ceremony. Justin did a great job for the audio for both ceremonies, and did a great job doing the background music for our welcome party the evening before. Probably most importantly though, he crushed the music for the reception, and never had an empty dance floor! His transitions between songs, as well playing a mix of Indian and American music that kept everyone engaged was very impressive. Would absolutely recommend!

Partied All Night!

We were looking for a budget friendly DJ and we found Tropic DJs. They were very accommodating and Jim was great to work with and help us figure just what we wanted. Our DJ was Gary, who was professional, energetic, and super flexible with some of our "out of the box" song choices. He was fantastic to work with, as made sure we had everything we needed. He did a great job night of, and really paid attention to what our guests were responding to. Anhe made sure to keep everybody dancing! We all partied until the venue shut us down!

Tropic DJs did great for us

We had the awesome Justin as our DJ. We had a number of eccentric cultural wedding traditions that we wanted to incorporate into our reception and Justin was able to integrate all our requests seamlessly. Justin did a great job of making sure the flow of our reception was comfortable and he was able to transition fluidly between cultural folk dances and American Top 40 (very impressive!). The dance floor lighting was also very well done. During planning, Justin was very accommodating; there were many things that we did not know, and Justin provided very helpful suggestions. As a whole, Tropic DJs is very easy to work with; they have an online planning system that allows you to input song choices and other requests and all payments can be made online. Would definitely recommend!

Tropic DJs was AMAZING! Jim was our DJ, and he also mic'd the ceremony. Our guests could easily hear the ceremony, the musicians could be heard loud and clear across the gardens, and there were no bumpy technical issues or static. Jim was a FABULOUS DJ. I am still getting compliments from how fun our reception was. We had picked out the list of songs we loved, and he put them together seamlessly and kept the crowd dancing literally all night. He let the music play, didn't do any of that DJ talk that some like to do, and kept the reception going smoothly. He honored our requests for certain favorite songs and didn't play a single song on our "Do not play" list. So many of our guests came to me afterward and said that of all the weddings they had attended, he was one of the best DJ's! Music is a big part of both my professional and personal life, and Jim completely exceeded my expectations

We both agree that out of all of our vendors you are single handily the best decision we made for our wedding!!! Our DJ Was Amazing!

Jim was amazing! We gave him an idea of what type of music we liked and he was able to read the crowd and keep people dancing. Our guests didn't want him to stop-- kept screaming "one more song!" Not to mention that we got married during the hurricane and had to move our wedding up a day and Jim was so flexible and accommodating when we needed him the most. So pleased with Jim and would recommend him to anyone!

Heart and soul

Tropic DJs brought the energy and HEART and SOUL to our wedding day! DJ Gary was incredible and loved his energy he brought to our wedding day. We loved the vibe he brought, we received many compliments from our guests and appreciated the time and effort he put into our special day. Do not sleep on this company and hire them for your event, no questions asked!

We Love Tropic DJs

We loved having Jim from Tropic DJs for our wedding! He had two calls with us during the planning process, asked lots of questions about what we were envisioning, and helped us figure out the planning forms to customize our ceremony and reception music exactly as we wanted. The sound and lighting for both our outdoor ceremony and our dance floor were absolutely perfect, and Jim did a fantastic job taking our playlists and using them to curate an excellent vibe for the reception. We loved and would highly recommend Tropic DJs.

Best DJ on the Island

My husband and I recently got married on Sanibel Island, and our wedding planner recommended Jim from Tropic DJs based on her previous experiences with him! Jim was fantastic. He was very responsive and personable throughout the planning process and used the Spotify playlists I had created in advance while also reading the crowd and keeping people dancing with his own transitions and song choices. His setup and lighting looked great at our reception. Would recommend!

Amazing DJ Company

Jim was an amazing DJ at our wedding! He was easy to communicate with throughout the wedding planning process and set up multiple meetings to make sure we were on the same page before the big day. Jim offered helpful insights when putting together the timeline of the day and most importantly, kept the dance floor packed all night long! I would recommend Tropic DJs, especially Jim, to any of my friends getting married!

Dj Was The Bomb!

Jim was the bomb.com! We met with Jim a couple of weeks prior to the wedding and when we went over some selections, he immediately knew what to play and what not to. Our wedding was one massive dance party thanks to Jim!

Hire The Pros!

Jim Hargrove DJed for our wedding, and we are so happy that we hired him through Tropic DJs. I completely agree with all the amazing reviews of this company, as well as for Jim. Jim was so easy and helpful to work with throughout the entire planning process, and he was such a professional in every way during the entire wedding weekend. He was so accommodating and flexible, and was very helpful in his recommendations. We had so much fun dancing the night away, and Jim was such a pro in playing the perfect music based on the mood and audience throughout the entire wedding.

Danced All Night

We had a blast at our reception and it was largely due to DJ Jim Hargrove's ability to keep the dance floor groovin'! Even people we thought would not dance did at least for one dance. He played all of the songs we requested and accomodated requests from our guests

Great Fit For Us!

Jim Hargrove was so awesome!! My best friend mention that it was the first time she had been to a wedding where the music reflected both the bride and grooms very different and unique personalities perfectly. We had requests from AC/DC to Dixieland Delight and they fit perfectly. Jim had everyone dancing from my 91 year old grandma to my 2 year cousin. We have heard over and over again that it was the best wedding reception anyone had ever been to!

Tropic is the BEST

Jim is the best DJ! We used him for the Ceremony and the Reception. He knew all the oldies but goodies, the new and up to date songs and when and how to play them. He kept everyone on the dance floor. My sister is getting married next year and we will be calling Tropic DJs.

Heard Great Things!

We had heard great things about this company before the wedding, and our experience was absolutely the best! I recommend them to every bride I talk to. Jim Hargrove was amazing and kept everyone on the floor! I was kind of concerned that some of our family members wouldn't be dancing, but even they were out on the floor! On top of that, we wanted to try some unconventional things, and Jim was totally willing to work with us. Would highly recommend this company!!

The Best in Florida

We hired DJ, Jim Hargrove from Tropic DJs. We could not possibly be more impressed with their service. Their planning system made everything so easy, plus they rocked the Dancefloor all night. Do not hesitate to hire them.
