This is the PERFECT venue to have a wedding - can't recommend TRAINE enough!! Richelle was an absolute dream to work with, and from our very first conversation, it was SO evident that she cared deeply about making our wedding day as special as possible. Truly, we couldn't have asked for a better site to host our wedding. Many of our guests commented at how beautiful the venue was, and how smoothly everything ran on our wedding day - they were all very impressed! If you are looking for a venue that will make all your wedding preparations 10x easier, smoother, and more professional - this is the place for you! Thank you Richelle/TRAINE for everything!! :)

Our experience working with Nicole was short, but wonderful. She took over ownership of the venue in the few weeks before our wedding day, but she quickly jumped right in to answer our many questions and handle all last minute logistics with our day fast approaching. We truly appreciated her honesty and willingness to help us stick to the details of our original contract despite changes inevitable with an ownership transition. In just the few weeks we worked with her, she made some wonderful updates to the venue we were so thankful we could experience and we quickly knew we were in great hands. Nicole’s belief in the potential and future growth of the venue is evident and I’m so excited for her future brides!

We're so happy we chose Traine as our venue! Richelle was amazing throughout the whole process. She and her team took care of everything so I didn't have to worry about a thing on the big day. So many people reached out to me after the wedding to tell me about beautiful the venue was. The location is perfect, plenty of nearby hotels for out-of-town guests. I would highly recommend choosing Traine for your wedding!

I was blown away at how gorgeous my venue looked on the day of my wedding! Traine is such a gorgeous place as it is but Richelle made sure everyone involved did exactly as I wanted it and it was perfect. She is so wonderful to work with! She's great at her job and is also such a sweet person. The new bridal suite is amazing as well! I was so happy we were able to utilize it! All of my guests kept commenting about how beautiful the venue was. It's also in such a great location to so many hotels downtown! I'm SO happy we went with Traine for our big day!!

From the moment we walked in, we knew Traine would be the perfect venue for our wedding. It's an elegant, open space with kind of an industrial vibe to it--exactly what we envisioned. Parking can be a challenge with the location BUT we appreciated how Traine includes free valet parking. Beth and Richelle are amazing work with and are extremely responsive to emails. Def recommend!

Traine was such a lovely venue for our wedding reception. We were so happy and our guests kept commenting on how great the venue was. Highly recommend this venue and Beth is great to work with!!

Tory and I fell in love with Traine the moment we walked in. Everything was wonderful! Beth was wonderful, a pleasure to work with. My guests loved the space, WE loved the space! Traine is truly a hidden gem in the downtown Raleigh area. Everyone should book their wedding/reception there.

The perfect venue for our perfect day! From the moment we met with Beth Earley, she went above and beyond to answer all of our questions and helped us in every way possible to execute our wedding reception vision. Traine’s hard-wood floors, white-painted brick, and exposed cross beams create a charming space that coupled perfectly with our décor. The rolling garage doors that open to the patio provided additional space and a market-like atmosphere on the night of our reception. Many of our guests commented that the valet staff was extremely courteous, and we personally witnessed the bartenders working diligently to serve everyone quickly while remaining personal and interactive. We would highly recommend Traine based on its location and aesthetic alone, however the staff made Traine one of the best vendors we worked with and played an integral role in one of the best days of our lives!

They were extremely helpful to us, and very accommodating. They are less strict on certain things, such as professional wedding coordinators and outside caterers. That was great news! They are fairly priced too. All around very good.

We met with Beth and got a tour of the venue, she answered all of our questions and was very responsive via email. We have put down our deposit and are super excited for our wedding to be held there March 2020.

I booked Traine for my December wedding back in January, 11 months in advance. I live out of town, but my fiance and I are from Raleigh. My parents and sister went to Taine's open house and sent me pictures. I knew from the moment I saw it, it was the place I wanted to get married. From the beautiful wooden floors to the white exposed brick and wooden beams, this venue is perfect for any size wedding. They seat 200, and we had 120 people attend. Beth, the coordinator, was very nice and helpful and answered my hundreds of emails very quickly. I am so happy with how my wedding turned out, and I would highly recommend booking Traine. They do allow outside vendors for catering, which is what we did. The only catch is that they have to supply the alcohol, so that's an important thing to understand. The bridal suite is nice, but very small. It's basically a little storage closet, but it was a nice place to get ready. This place is perfect if you're looking to stay on budget and not spend a fortune on a venue!

I recently had my wedding ceremony and reception at Traine. The staff (specifically Beth) was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all of my questions. The venue allowed us to decorate as we wanted and make the night truly personalized. I would absolutely recommend Traine if you're looking for a modern wedding/party venue conveniently located close to downtown Raleigh.

We had a Sangeet (essentially a rehearsal dinner, the day before our wedding) and it could not have been more perfect! The venue is absolutely beautiful! The open garage doors really open up the space and the string lights are a nice touch! We had around 125 people and there was plenty of space to mingle and dance! Traine was very easy to work with in letting us choose our caterer and decorate the way we wanted. Any time we had a question, Beth responded promptly and always answered any questions we had. You can’t go wrong in choosing Traine for your event!

We loved having our wedding here. The space is beautiful on its own but also enables you to totally personalize it to make it totally your day. Beth was easy to work with and had everything organized and ready to go for our big day.

Abby, Beth, and Donald were the best! With everything that goes into planning a reception, they were so easy to work with and communicated with us throughout the whole process. The space is is beautiful and in a great location.

My only complaint is the bridal suite was very hot and the portable air conditioner they provided was not adequate.

We worked with Beth at Traine and she was so helpful from the start and throughout the whole process! Traine was such a great venue - we got so many compliments from our guest about how great the set up was, the location and the convenience of everything being right there. A lot of things were included with the price of Traine which made everything even that much easier! We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all at Traine and I am so happy we did!

We held our daughter's wedding ceremony and reception at Traine on November 12, 2017 and could not have been happier! The venue was spacious and very adaptable to pretty much any type of decor. The staff was wonderful and seemed to genuinely care about making the day everything we wanted it to be. Donald was always available to answer my many questions and was a joy to work with. I highly recommend this venue!

Highly Recommend! Ashley & Donald were fabulous to work with as well as the event staff the day of our wedding. The venue has a rustic charm to it and still lends itself to be customized to whatever event you're looking to hold (fancy vs. casual).

The venue was wonderful and my guests commented on how nice it was. Traine was easy to work with and compared to other venues in the area offered great flexibility allowing us to bring in our own vendors. It would have been even better if we could have stopped the party a little later than 12 am though. Overall, a fantastic venue!

We loved working with Traine for our April 2017 wedding! The space is beautiful and in a great location, and we really enjoyed being able to use the open air option (garage doors up, people mingling on the patio) during our event. The staff at Traine were also very helpful, flexible and incredibly responsive. I would highly recommend this venue to any couples looking for a great reception venue!

Take good notes when meeting with staff. You will be so inundated with info from all of your vendors that some info may be forgotten. We worked with Abby, Beth, and Donald, who all were extremely accomodating as I made changes to floorplans for a non - traditional ceremony and reception layout. We booked them as the only place we saw for our wedding. Love at first sight.

The parking is a big issue. Logans should allow parking after 6.

Traine is a good venue for the price! Overall the staff was really nice and was able to accomplish our vision for the space. You do have to purchase your alcohol through the venue and their selection on beer and wine was limited. They were able to get some additional options for us through their vendors but we did all of the research on what was available ourselves - they didn't have a list of options. Having the decor rented through the venue was convenient since they could set it up the day before. Overall I would recommend this venue, especially if you are looking to cut down on your decisions and go with a place that is close to a one stop shop.

Traine is a wonderful wedding reception venue. Beth was very responsive to our needs and professional. We valued her opinion during the planning process.

If you are considering The Dock (formerly Traine), please read and consider.

When we toured Traine and signed with the previous manager, we couldn't be more excited for our big day. She was empathetic, passionate, and eager to work with us. Unfortunately, when Traine sold to The Dock, we never felt this with Nicole, the new owner of The Dock. During our initial Zoom meeting with Nicole and continued emails, we never felt excitement from her or any support for concerns we had vocalized. We became very worried for the couple months leading up to the Wedding, an already inundating process for those who have planned a wedding.

From the moment we received the introduction email, it was immediate that the venue was changing, which we weren't excited about, but Nicole had committed to these changes, despite any concern of clients already under contract. Nicole stated that the bar package would change, too, from a strong selection to just two domestic beers and two imported beers, because of her expertise, and not considering our expectations. Luckily, she agreed to honor our package, but her approach was condescending and uninviting. We originally committed to 200 guests with Traine, which took Nicole by surprise, and again, met with concern and negativity. Despite vendors having accomplished this in the past, we were told we would ruin the experience for our guests, rather than working with us. Traine agreed to let us swing by Sunday morning to grab any leftover belongings, attributing to the flexibility we envisioned. This wasn't an option with The Dock, and it was clear we would be out at a specific time, with no discussion to help alleviate our concerns.

The biggest challenge occurred when we were approached by Nicole to sign a new contract, one of which was entirely different from our original agreement, despite her stating in her introduction email that she would honor our contract. After reviewing this with Attorneys, it was evident that this contract was not favorable to clients. Nicole had no sympathy for any of our concerns, and masked these concerns by her agreement to honor our original bar package and include a white draping to account for the change of the backdrop. Her approach to Covid concerns was entirely different from Traine, and her concern for the client was nonexistent; she was only concerned for her business. Unfortunately, at this point we were weeks away from our Wedding and were obligated to move forward.

While Traine was a beautiful venue in a great location (the interior of the venue has since changed), we wouldn't remotely consider this venue if we were to plan a wedding all over again. Regardless of these characteristics, we couldn't imagine working with Nicole again, and struggle to understand how she can relate to her clients who have an emotional connection to their dream day. In an industry that requires a willingness to work with people, meet their expectations, and instill excitement in big events, we didn't feel any of this.

Richelle, a very pleasant woman, worked at and owned this venue when it was called Traine. We were initially very pleased with this venue, with everything running smoothly. And then communication start changing.

We noticed that a new lady named Nicole took over the venue but it wasn’t until we went to have our first in person meeting that she told us she was the new owner. We were so excited for her new purchase and had high hopes for the future of what was now The Docks (even though we had already printed our invitations). It did not take long for that positive trajectory to switch gears.

After taking over, we were forced to sign a new contract disallowing our dogs that were initially to be included in the wedding. We were able to push back on that but still lost some other promises that were made to us initially by Richelle. Our dogs came, did exactly what they were supposed to do and left promptly, as she requested. Additionally, the drafted contracts were completely disorganized and very obviously
copied and pasted from another document so that dates, times, and locations were all incorrect and inapplicable to our agreement. This new contract would have been a manipulative ploy for us to spend more money had we not caught these changes ahead of time. Not only this, but she forgot she added a portion about providing drinks until we brought it up to her the night before when she told us that she wasn’t responsible for providing water.

Then, the renovations began. We are a lesbian couple with a large wedding party that really loved the large bridal suite on site. Without mention, she immediately changed it so that it was split in half and a new suite (one that you had to walk outside the building to access - not favorable on our rainy wedding day) was added. Because of this change, there was not enough space for the bridal party to get ready, so we had to get an AirBnB and we’re unable to use the bridal suite that morning, costing us over $1000. She also added an accent wall the weekend before our wedding and told my wife “well, it will either be done or it won’t.”

Moreover, she generally just has a terrible attitude and demeanor around guests and other vendors. She made inappropriate remarks to our vendors about how she will happily throw away any decorations left behind after our time is up and that we have better thought about what to do with our tree decorations because “she won’t be dealing with those.” And that we were “cheaping out” on our food and “this is what we get”. Not to mention that she forced staff to start cleaning up 1.5 hours before the end of our contracted event up time so that people had nowhere to sit, causing many of our guests to leave early. She made other vendors do tasks that they should not be required to do bc she very obviously doesn’t want to pay her staff to clean up her own venue.

So many people came up to my wife and I to complain about her attitude and inflexibility. We were made to feel like an inconvenience to her even though we were paid up and hadn’t been intentionally offensive or unhelpful.

Overall, we left the wedding wanting to change absolutely nothing except our venue. When Nicole doesn’t even have enough decency and professionalism to speak to the brides/bride and groom/grooms at the rehearsal or on the day of the wedding, you kind of know it’s a place you won’t bother to recommend to anyone else in the future.
