Best Bakery and Cafe in Columbia, MD!

We are so happy we went with Touche Touchet Bakery for our wedding day. It is already one of our favorite spots for breakfast and special occasions, and they did not disappoint on our wedding day. They were friendly easy to work with, and went above and beyond to make sure our buttercream frosting did not melt and cakes were in tact while transporting them over the bay bridge (on a Friday in the summer)! Everything was PERFECT. The almond and lemon curd cake was delicious, and the chocolate and vanilla cupcakes were amazing as well. We got many compliments later on both the cake and cupcakes, especially the buttercream frosting. Would highly recommend them, whether it is for your special day, a special occasion, or just grabbing a bite to eat!

My cake taste amazing! They delivered everything to the venue which was very helpful. The awesome did an amazing job decorating the cake!

Touchet Touchet provided 130 cupcakes and a six-inch cutting cake for our 100-person wedding. We first booked a tasting at their shop in Columbia after glowing reviews from family members. The team was great to work with, Touchet was able to provide a range of cupcake flavors for our guests that matched with our wedding colors, and it all fit nicely into our budget. Our venue in DC was within their delivery range so they took care of delivery. We also rented their cupcake tower for the evening. I definitely recommend Touchet Touchet for a delicious local option for your wedding cake.

Loved the cake testing. We accompanied our daughter and her soon to be husband. They chose two flavors: carrot cake was for tiered cake and Red Velvet was for sheet cake. Both cakes were delicious. Many guests tried both!

I was introduced to Touche Touchet Bakery when I happened to try out their cake samples at a bridal show. They were actually the first samples my bridesmaid and I tried that afternoon, and we quickly realized that none of the cake samples were any other bakeries even came close. I'm pretty particular about icing--I don't like icings that are extremely light/whipped--and the icing on the samples was fabulous. So my then-fiance and I scheduled an official tasting, where we discovered that their entire range of flavors and fillings were incredibly good. It was hard to zero in on just a few pics, but we ended up with a white cake with raspberry and lemon fillings for our wedding cake, and a marble cake with chocolate ganache and peanut butter fillings for our groomscake. The groomscake was actually the bigger order, since we were serving ice cream sundaes at the wedding, and just needed a little cake so we could do the traditional cake cutting (and which, I'd like to add, we were able to get at an incredible price, even though I know some places seem like they charge extra the second you mention you need a cake for a wedding). But anyway, I had design in mind for the groomscake that I wanted to keep a surprise from my fiance, and it was pretty intricate (a replica of the "winged eagle" WWF belt from the 80s and 90s), but I had no idea if it could translate into a cake. One of the cake designers came out to look over the pictures I had brought, and she told me it would be likely get pricey due to all the detail, but they could do it. And oh my goodness, did they do it--the cake was UNBELIEVABLE. When we unveiled it at the rehearsal dinner, people could not stop staring at it--the level of detail was just amazing. And as if that weren't enough, it tasted incredible--so rich and delicious and flavorful (especially the icing). My fiance was so delighted, and it made the whole experience really special. So, all that is to say that Touche Touchet is wonderful!

We we required to use this bakery, but the flavors and texture of the cake is AMAZING. I loved cake flavors and icing that I would never generally try.

Oh-my-gosh was this cake amazing! We chose yellow cake with a chocolate fudge filling, and creamy white icing. Simple, but so delicious. We received many compliments on the cake, and how delicious it was. Since ordering the cake, I've been back, and sampled cookies and cupcakes, and they are also some of the best I've ever had. We'll definitely be back for more treats soon!

Touché touchet bakery did an amazing job with our wedding cake! We had an amazing cake tasting to start the process. We were given several options of cake, fillings and design. I think the tasting was my husbands favorite part of planning our wedding. The cake was beautiful and tasted amazing. We're still having it as dessert!

We ordered our wedding cake from Touche Touchet and received so many compliments. We had 4 different flavors (3 layers, 1 sheet cake) which allowed our guests some variety. The staff was so accommodating with the tasting, as well as some of the other details (how the frosting should look, which cake topper worked best, etc.). Their flexibility was great, and the owner even delivered the cake to us on our wedding day, and worked with the florist to put the flowers on the cake. The cake is delicious and the variety of combinations they can create with cake flavor, filling, and frosting is amazing.

Touche Touchet Bakery in Columbia, MD was incredible to work with when planning our wedding reception! First of all - their cake tasting was an AWESOME experience - it was our absolute favorite experience of the whole planning process and we aren't even "cake people." They were ready for us when we arrived and the tray of cake and fillings to taste was amazing! They were nice and very attentive, and helped us through everything.
We provided ribbon and toppers the week before, and everything went smoothly. When I saw the 4 tier cake at the reception, it looked amazing with our monogram. When it was served, everyone was raving about the peanut butter / marble cake. The strawberry / white cake layer was amazing too. Thank you !!

I loved our wedding cake! The artwork done on it was amazing and it tasted as good as it looked! The people at the bakery were very friendly and loved that I got a rose after I placed the order :)

We loved working with Touche Touchet! We ordered a small wedding cake for the cake cutting aspect, and mini cupcakes as well as petits-fours to be distributed to guests. We were also able to have different types of cupcakes, so the variety of everything made our guests and ourselves very happy, not to mention it was all delicious!

What a great company to do business with. Terry and the group were some of the best people to deal with. They answered all our questions and provided feedback when needed. Our cake was very unique in design and we were blown away but the end product. The cake was delicious and the guest raved about the flavors and moistness of the cake.

Thank you Terry and gang for making our day the best ever. We will be stopping by for other goodies in the bear future.

I used Touche Touchet to make a New Orleans themed cake for my groom to represent his hometown. They surpassed all of my expectations! After contacting many bakeries, I stumbled upon Touche Touchet and was pleasantly excited to find out that the owners were also from New Orleans. They were the ONLY bakery who were willing to sit down and draw out a design - and the final product was even better than I imagined! My parents also had a bridal shower cake created there that exactly matched the invitation to my shower, and I bought cupcakes for a 30th birthday party. I will be visiting Touche Touchet a lot in the future!!!

Not a cake, but we ordered pies for our wedding. They have a wonderful selection to choose from and they're reasonably priced for the quality. Easily the best Pecan and Lemon Meringue pies I've ever tried. Very easy to work with, and everything was ready on time!

Touche Touchet Bakery did an amazing job on the cake and it was delicious. Highly recommend this vendor for your wedding cake. You get to design what you want and it was identical to my idea! Definitely recommend!

This is my favorite bakery and they did not disappoint for our wedding cake. We always enjoy our trips to the bakery although not as often as either of our tummies wish and it meant a lot to us to get our cake from a place that had meaning to us. We were nervous about having to transport it ourselves since Touche Touchet doesn't have a refrigerated truck yet, but it was worth getting a smaller cake we could transport ourselves (10'' round) instead of getting a larger cake delivered from a bakery without the sentiment.

Not only did it look beautiful and exactly as they sketched out for us, but it was delicious! We got almond flavored cake with raspberry preserves. We somehow managed to transport it on dry ice in a large cooler as Mike suggested with little to no problem. I am so happy with how it turned out and plan to order a similar cake for our anniversary every year from there. I cannot thank them enough!

I couldn't have been more impressed with the wedding cake that Touche Touchet made for our wedding day. The team at Touche Touchet were wonderful and a pleasure to work with. We walked into the bakery with a picture of the cake at our tasting and they re-created it with the couple of changes we asked to be made (color, etc.). When it showed up to the wedding it was all that I had invsioned and more. The inside was as delicious as the outside was gorgeous. We chose a yellow cake with layers of raspberry filling and white icing. The cake was one of the most talked about subjects of the evening.

We also had the bakery prepare cupcakes for the wedding as an alternative to the cake. The cupcakes were as yummy as the cake. Besides the cake the other big hit of the night were the chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter icing.

As to other bakeries in the local area that we researched, Touche Touchet's prices were comparable. However, their ability to create a beautiful and delicious wedding cake (and also other delectable treats) is unparalleled.

The cake I had in mind was a simple two-tier, so I didn't want to have to meet in person or do a tasting. I had tasted baked goods from Touche Touchet before, so I was confident that the cake would taste good. I was able to set up my order over e-mail and one phone call. They delivered the cake to the venue the evening before my wedding at my request because it was a morning ceremony and brunch. It looked perfect and tasted amazing. I got many compliments from my guests. We had yellow cake with chocolate ganache filling and creamy white icing.

Everyone at Touche Touchet is so nice and my cake was absolutely beautiful and delicious! All of our guest ate the cake and we barely had any left! I showed them a picture I had in mind when we met with them and they designed it beautifully. It was very original which I loved. I wanted bunches of handmade grapes on my cake and when I had gone to other bakeries they were way very pricey. I thought I wouldn't be able to do the design I wanted. Touche Touchet's pricing was great! We couldn't believe it because they were the best cake we had tasted!

Touche Touchet provided us a wedding cake that was truly gorgeous and a great value compared to the taste, design and size of cakes offered by other bakeries. Working with Rita was great, and she created a cake that was absolutely perfect for us and exactly as we imagined — plus it tasted fantastic! I would highly recommend Touche Touchet for anything you need in the baking department.

We had cupcakes with a small cake at the top and Touch Touchet did a great job at everything. My guests raved over the cupcakes and loved them. The decoration on the cake and cupcakes were really good too. We had a wine theme and they really listened when it came to decorations and gave me hints on what would be best. And they were right - the cupcakes were a hit!

We chose this bakery primarily because they are such good neighbors to the community. They have made many donations to local charities and a homeless shelter that my mother-in-law volunteers at.
Ordering our wedding cake and cupcakes was a breeze. They were responsive and accommodating when we needed to add a few more cupcakes at the last minute. On our wedding day the cake looked amazing and tasted even better than it looked! They were punctual with the delivery. We got lots of compliments on how delicious everything was. I would highly recommend them.

We got two cakes for our wedding, and Touche Touchet provided the grooms cake (and sheet cakes to supplement). I am obsessed with their chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, and Rita was able to create a cake with this flavor combination that was sinfully good. The cake had the Redskins logo on it and looked better than I had imagined. Stop by here for pastries anytime, everything is great (especially the spinach/feta croissant!)

We were very pleased with the appearance and taste of our cakes and cupcakes! Rita was very easy to work with- she helped us with our tasting and had some great ideas as far as decorating. When we had trouble finding cupcake stands, Michael purchased an extra one! The cupcakes were delicious and the cake was gorgeous! They did a great job with the set-up!

FIVE STARS for Touche Touchet and thank you for our dream wedding cake at an amazing cost. We purchased our decadent chocolate cake with a soft chocolate hazelnut filling from Touche Touchet and it was the most delicious and mouth watering cake we had ever tasted. All our guests kept coming back for more and there was none left by the end of the night. The design was everything we had requested and more. Thank you so much for making our day even more special.

I decided about 2 months before the wedding that I would get a groom's cake for my now husband. He's not much of a sweets person, but he does love carrot cake. I contacted several bakeries in the areas, but was shocked at how much a custom-designed cake would cost. I had emailed Touche Touchet but never received a reply from them. After not having much luck with other bakeries, I decided to give them a call and found out that they had been having email problems. At this point, it was only 3 weeks or so before the wedding but Michael, the owner, said it wouldn't be a problem. More importantly, the price of the cake was less than half of what these other bakeries were quoting me (and pretty much everything on the cake would be edible). I photoshopped several pictures to make a "design" that I wanted and provided it to them. I even changed the design only a week before and they had no issues. I did not see the cake until the reception and it looked amazing! Since my husband is a Virginia Tech alumni and a big Ravens and Orioles fan, I asked for a Hokie bird wearing a tuxedo with an O's cap and holding a Raven's flag. It was the cutest thing ever! Rita did a fantastic job! And of course, the carrot cake was delicious (my husband says it's the best he's had EVER). I have since recommended Touche Touchet to everyone who asks me about a cake and will always order from them whenever I need to get a cake for my husband. We actually ordered a carrot cake for my brother's birthday this evening and we can't wait to eat it.

The cake we received from Touche Touchet was a part of a larger package deal with Catering By Uptown for our wedding. The cake tasting was fun experience and the amount of cake silhouettes/designs to start from - as far as picking your own cake - is more than reasonable. They were able to accommodate quite a few requests that we had (opalescent shimmer) without any hesitation. The cake (although we didn't each much at the reception) was good as far as I can tell. We didn't have any leftovers and no complaints!

Our cake was amazing (taste-wise and beautiful). The staff is super nice and our tasting was fun. Our venue contracted with them and I am so glad they did. I highly recommend this bakery.

We selected Touche Touchet based on the cake (delicious) and price (very, very good), but they were also a friendly and well-run bakery. From the tasting through to the wedding day their presentation and customer service were flawless. We were able to speak with the decorator (who, although our cake was quite straightforward, can do amazing work) from the very beginning, and she did a great job of coming up with suggestions that fit what we were looking for. She was also very open and honest about what would work well with her cakes and fillings, which we didn't encounter at all bakeries. They were completely flexible in terms of cake type, size, and design, and we had no issues whatsoever with delivery on the day.
The cake itself was beautiful, and absolutely delicious; we received numerous compliments from guests. The chocolate cake is particularly good, especially with the raspberry filling, and the chocolate ganache was superb. Having said that, you should definitely try all that they have to offer: the staff at the tasting were very helpful and friendly, and more than happy to let you try everything.
The only fault we can find was that there was a minor issue in setting up the tasting: we were told to expect a phone call to collect more information (for some reason the book to record our details wasn't in the bakery when I called), but it didn't come, and so eventually we contacted them soon before the tasting. There were no repercussions from that though: I'm sure the information could have been relayed at the tasting and it wouldn't have made a difference.
All in all we strongly recommend Touche Touchet!

We used Touche Touchet for our wedding cake on July 1, 2012. We had a great tasting experience there and they talked us through all the aspects of our cake. We wanted something relatively simple and affordable and they came through. The cake looked beautiful and was just how it had been described. It tasted absolutely delicious (we went with chocolate cake, chocolate ganache filling, and white icing.) We were very pleased with our experience!

We had no idea what we wanted when we went to Touche Touchet, but we left with a sketch for a beautiful cake. And they delivered!!! Our simple, 3-tiered wedding cake was gorgeous (and delicious)! We couldn't have been happier with the finished product.

They had many flavor cupcakes. They provided smaller size portion for taste testing.

We used them for our wedding and they were very easy to work with. They cake tasting was great. They had a lot to offer and everything was delicious! The almond cake with buttercream icing was perhaps one of the greatest cakes I've ever had. It was pricey, but we waited a little longer than I should have to set this up, so I did not have time to shop around for a better price. We changed one idea just days before and they were very willing to work with us. My only complaint other than the price was that they were a little late the day of delivering the cake. It was nothing too bad, they were only off by about an hour, but they came as I began taking photos, so I was disappointed I did not have time to see it and be there for them setting everything up. Very delicious cake, though!

First off, I have to say that the cake they made was delicious and absolutely gorgeous. It was a specialty wedding cake and it turned out exactly how we wanted. Our main complaints come with how we had to interact with the bakery.

Originally, this bakery was a contractor for our venue and the cake was included in our venue price. We did a tasting (amazing) and fell in love with this cake. They said that they would have to charge more because it was a specialty cake. We didn't mind paying a little extra because the cake was one of the most important parts of the wedding (my husband and I are super into cakes and desserts, I know it's unusual for that to be the most important part). About 6 weeks before our wedding we were informed by both the bakery and the venue that they had severed their contract and would no longer make our cake unless we signed a contract just with the bakery.

We decided to go with Touche Touchet. Our venue refunded us the money they would have paid for the cake. Touche Touchet then told us that we would have to pay an additional $360 (on top of the extra fee we paid for it being a specialty cake). We called and called and it took a week to get a hold of a manager to discuss the situation. In the end they knocked off $50 but refused to budge any further. Had it not been 5 weeks before our wedding I think we would have sought out another bakery as this was extremely expensive for a cake. It all worked out, but I would not use this bakery for a big event again.

I try to write reviews of places when I am impressed. My issues with this place have gone on too long for me not to share. I will never again deal with this bakery and vocally pass this on to everyone I can.

I ordered from this bakery for my rehearsal dinner. Everything went smooth. Cupcakes were average, cake was good. Then the next day I learn that when my sister went to pick up the cake they charged her. Well I had already paid everything off earlier in the month. I figured this wasn't a big deal -- It shouldn't be a problem to get it taken care of. This was August -- as of today NOTHING has been done.

I have continually called them explaining the situation. Every time I call I am told I have to talk to the owner -- who has not once been available - "he's not in today", "he just lef"t, etc. Numerous times I have been told he will call you back - nothing. Since then I have been in 3 times trying to touch base with him. Same thing - "you just missed him", "I will take a message and have him call you". I have dropped off the names, dates, and credit card information for them to review their books/orders and move forward with a refund from there.

We called again last Thursday - manager/owner of course not available. BUT we get an employee who states that the only way anything can get resolved is to have copies of the bank statements. FOUR MONTHS later someone tells me this!! Now this isn't a problem for me but my sister is now deployed so it's not very easy to just have her send me her credit card statement from 4 months ago.

This business is wildly unprofessional. While their product has been decent in the past (Great presentation/average taste), the way they treat their customers is unacceptable.

I will post an update once the issue has been resolved.

We got our kids birthday here(not wedding cake)....it was really horrible , after paying so much of money to them...it was like flushing the money in the toilet...

We have had purchased the cake before with them, they tasted so good and that is why I re-ordered the birthday cake from here...this time the quality was too bad, it tasted like sugar and the it was not soft too...it was better to buy a BJ's or Costco cake .Actually I ended up doing that in my party as I could not serve this cake to the guests.

The cake was sugary, had sugar lumps in the chocolate cake and I took the effort to call them and tell, what happened she was like , oh I am sorry can you bring in the cake and we will compensate and all that, once I took the cake there yesterday, she re-iterated the boss was not there and they will call me next day morning and let me know...they never called up, when I call she tells me thatz the quality of there cake, and it will be so sweet with the sugar lumps...

thought I will write a review for folks who are planning to buy their cake for bigger occasions...please beware as you make feel bad serving this cake to your family and friends.

Touche Touchet was a contracted vendor with Uptown Catering, and therefore the go-to bakery for my wedding cake. I scheduled a cake tasting for February 7th. On January 24, I went to Uptown Catering's open house to choose linens, food, etc. There, I was told that Touche Touchet was no longer working with them and that I had to do an entirely different cake tasting. Touche Touchet was supposed to inform me of this and let me know that my cake tasting was cancelled. I still have not heard from them. Had I not gone to the open house, I would have no idea what was happening which could have led to a cake disaster and unnecessary stress.
