Our experience with Total Event was exceptional from the time we first requested a quote all the way through the end of the wedding event. Joel was very proactive on communicating with us throughout the process to make sure he knew exactly what we wanted. He also offered a number of helpful suggestions along the way that we would have never thought about. We wound up making some last minute changes at the venue and he handled them flawlessly. He provided music for the ceremony and reception and was the MC and did a terrific job. I would give Total Event Audio a six star rating if I could. They are that good.

BEST DJ by far!!! Joel and Team at Total Events DJ'd and MC'd my wedding at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens and did a fantastic job! He was professional and attentive throughout the entire planning process, and executed perfectly on wedding day. Joel and team brought great energy to our reception and were really good about 'reading the room' with music choices to get people on the dance floor throughout the night. The DJ of my dreams
These guys were the absolute best DJs I could’ve asked for, Joel walked us through the whole process of picking songs making the experience feel a lot easier. I told him what I envisioned for my wedding and he hit it 100%. Wouldn’t recommend going to anyone else but these guys here!!!

They were so great!
I was so worried about finding a DJ that would cue the music right at the moments that I wanted for our special songs: when the bride entered the ceremony space, when it was time for first dance, etc. And I have to say that Total Event Audio was absolutely perfect. Exactly what we needed at a great price!
Joel Hodges was the DJ for our daughter's wedding, and he did an amazing job! He asked all the right questions to know exactly what we needed, and he continually checked in with us throughout the evening about timing, music, toasts, etc. He made sure we could all hear the wedding couple's vows, played the wedding music spot on, and then got the party started at the reception and kept it going. He kept the atmosphere upbeat and energetic, and everyone was comfortable and happy. The evening would not have been the same without his help, and we couldn't be more happy with his services!

Joel and his team was amazing!! They reached out to me multiple times to get to know us as a couple and what our vision was for the wedding. I was super indecisive about some things and Joel was patient and helped me work through it. I bits and pieces of Harry Potter at my wedding (huge potter head) and he even made it extra special to include some Harry Potter songs I didn’t even ask for however he knew well enough I would enjoy it and I absolutely did!! It was a great time and everyone raved about how good the Dj was.

They did an amazing job with our wedding!

Joel and his team did an excellent job setting up beautiful café lighting and mics for our outdoor wedding at the Forth Worth Botanic Gardens, and providing great DJ services as well! Our guests had a great time! He was extremely responsive and great at communicating everything, he sent us recommendations and suggestions to help us with planning and had several planning meetings with us to ensure everything went very smoothly the day of! He was very accommodating to our requests, while still providing us the professional recommendations we needed.

So Much Fun!
Literally fantastic. Joel is the best DJ out there!
He made sure everything was perfect for us.
From the ceremony to the end of the night, everything was perfect and free flowing! He is also the nicest guy, and he wants to do a great job in all he does! We wanted to do the shoe game at our wedding and with all of my planning I completely forgot to look up questions for it or look into it and Joel completely took control of it and had a whole list of questions for us and I really appreciate it, I didn't realize he would come up with those questions for us!
Throughout our wedding he gave us shout outs, he stuck to the schedule and adjusted if needed, the music was perfect, and he made our guest laugh at the best times. We had a great experience with them and I would recommend them!

We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding. Joel was so easy to work with from the initial contact through the end of the wedding night. I loved how they transitioned songs smoothly and there were no abrupt pauses or bad sounding transitions as the songs overlapped. They listened well to requests throughout the night and made the songs fit right in seamlessly. They kept my guests on the dance floor all night!

Beautiful lighting and very flexible
We used Total Events for our reception lighting. Joel and his team were instrumental in making our wedding reception as magical as we hoped! We had a venue change just two days before the wedding, and he worked with us and our planner to completely change our lighting to fit the backup venue, and it turned out perfectly! Joel was also great to work with off the bat too. Definitely recommend for event lighting needs.

Dream come true
I wanted a fairy tale wedding, with wrapped trees and cafe lights. Joel completely understood the assignment and made my vision come true. I literally cried with joy when I first saw how he decorated my venue. He does wonders, and he’s so easy to communicate with. If I ever need lighting, he’ll be the only one I’d ever contact.

The dance floor was hopping!

Daughter’s Wedding
Joel and his team were a complete joy to work with. They went above and beyond to make our day the very best it could be. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! One of the biggest things we talked about for our wedding was we wanted a good DJ and sound system. Joel and Maria came through and were absolutely amazing! They had meetings with us to get to know us and figure out our style. They took all of our request and made it the perfect night. The sound system was great the entire ceremony and reception and Joel did a fantastic job as MC. Was the best party with all their help. Definitely give them a call!

We had a DJ that cancelled on us last minute before our wedding, and Joel and the team at Total Event Audio came in and saved the day. We got married on 7/20/20. Total event audio was absolutely awesome. Joel and Mariana are great people with great attitudes! Excellent DJ, Professional and Fun!!
They were professional and flexible leading up to the wedding. What with the pandemic and other issues, my date and venue changed a few times. Joel was great about working with me on that. The day of the wedding both Joel, and I believe Nate, we're energetic and fun. He kept us on track, without being pushy. We didn't get to have the huge wedding we originally planned, but Joel and his team helped make our smaller affair perfect!!

Amazing! Well Organized.
Joel and his team were such a pleasure to work with! Very detail oriented, he already had a blue print for us to consult, which was a great help because my husband and I were clueless as to where to begin the planning process. He was very flexible to incorporate some of our cultures traditions into the reception as well as showing us other traditions we incorporated into our wedding. Had multiple guests asking for Joel's contact information after the wedding. Would definitely recommend Joel for any of your events!

Joel was awesome to work with, super easy-going and made the entire process as stress-free as possible for us. He really listened to our wants and incorporated the best quality lights, effects, and sounds. I received many compliments from my guests how smooth the transitions were throughout the evening. Best DJ I Could Ask For
I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience with a DJ. Nathan was very professional when dealing with me beforehand and very thorough when asking questions regarding what sort of music/vibe I wanted for my wedding. The actual wedding experience was so good that literally half of my guest list felt the need to tell me the music at my wedding was the better then any other wedding they have been to.

Nathan and Joel made our daughter's wedding so enjoyable every step of the way. We actually had them both at my son's wedding 9 months earlier and I was very impressed in how they kept things moving and the song selection was so fun. So, when my daughter was ready to get married I was insistent that we use their company. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a DJ!

Fun, Professional, and Flexible!
When researching DJ's/Lighting I was a little uncertain on which route to take. I came across Joel and Nathan's company and started reading reviews. They, of course, were all amazing, so I decided to reach out. Throughout the entire process, they listened to everything I wanted and gave great suggestions in areas I had no idea the answer to. I changed things on them multiple times and without hesitation, they switched it for me. They kept the party going all night at our wedding without missing a bit. Totally Worth It!!
The first impression I got from Nathan and Joel is the level of professionalism and their quick response to my messages. They were flexible in meeting near our home (which is not close for them) and meeting late in the evening because that is the time, my now husband, gets off of work. They really listened to what we were looking for and I really liked that they wrote things down. Made me feel that they cared to get things right. A few days before the wedding, I had mentioned that I had a very special song to be played for our first look. I sent Nathan the custom song and he worked very well with our photographer, wedding coordinator, and videographer to plan the surprise I had for my groom and it turned out amazingly! We also had draping with for our ceremony done with them and it really set the mood and made it feel so much more intimate. My father and friends mentioned how great he was and played amazing music! And everyone could not stop talking about the interactive screen he provided. It entertained our guests!
Invest in your DJ. Your guests will thank you, especially if you are having a videographer! You don't want to see your guests bored in your video.

One word: amazing!
One word: AMAZING. They were simply AMAZING. First off, they met with us and were just awesome. They helped with all our needs. They played the perfect music and knew how to get the crowd going. The lights they set up were AWESOME! They helped with the entire flow of the wedding. I don't know how we could have done it without them. Nathan and his partner were so great from the beginning! My sister decided they would be our DJ before we met with them! As soon as we set up a meeting we knew they were the ones we were looking for! Our family is Mexican and Hispanic and Nathan knew exactly what to play since the first meeting! He kept throwing out ideas that we loved! Loved how they coordinated everything from the lighting to the music! They played all kinds of music and they tried to keep the party going! BOOK THEM. YOU WILL BE PASSING UP AN AMAZING TEAM IF YOU DON’T! Okay so this review will be about both lighting and DJ, but I will start with lighting since this was by far the biggest element of my reception. We had our wedding in the woods at a location that had no lights at all. I first talked with Joel on the phone and explain my initial ideas to him and shared some inspiration pictures. Joel is so nice and easy to talk to and has really good ideas! I loved talking with him because he seemed to be excited about my ideas which made me feel great! I scheduled a meeting to meet them on site because this was going to be a big lighting job. Joel and Nathan both came to the site even before I had booked with them. As soon as we all got there they had great ideas about how to make it truly magical! I even had created a 3D drawing in virtual reality to show them how I wanted our sweetheart table to look and they said no problem! I booked with them after that meeting because I knew I found a great team! We had several other phone meetings and even met another time in person to go over the final lighting plan! Joel had diagrams prepared and we went over in detail the uplights, string lights, tree wrappings, cake lights, pin spots for paths, and lighting for people to get to their cars. The first time I saw the lighting was after the ceremony when my husband and I would have our private dinner in the reception area. I LITERALLY CRIED BECAUSE IT WAS SO BEAUTIFUL. They made it so magical that words really can’t describe it!!!!!! That sweetheart table I mentioned earlier was literally perfect. Take a look at the pictures below!!!! I will update if I can with professional photos when I get them but just look at how beautiful of a job they did. It was perfect and I couldn’t have been happier. Guests were BLOWN AWAY with the lighting!!! I wish I could relive that day everyday because the pictures just don’t do it justice like it was in person! Okay so DJ time! I had some odd requests for songs for the ceremony music since they aren’t on itunes or spotify. They made it so easy for me to get them the songs I wanted! Created a shared google drive and I just dropped them in and they were ready to go! The music quality was fawless. Super crisp and clear as well was the microphones we used! The cocktail area, same thing, they added a speaker there for us so guests could continue to listen to my playlist. The speakers they used at the reception were fantastic!!!!!!! Super clear sound and always at an appropriate volume! Nathan was great! He always kept people on the dancefloor and made great choices for songs! Guests loved the music. Side note that I thought was really cool, since we had up lighting in the trees, they had them at a soft white for the dinner and changed colors for them when the dancing started! Super cool! I was just blown away by Joel and Nathan and couldn’t be happier that we found them for our wedding! Please do yourselves a favor and book with them. One of the best decisions we made for our wedding. INCREDIBLE. Thank you so much Joel and Nathan!!!!!!!!!

Must book for your event
We booked Total Events, and it was the best decision we could have made for our wedding! Nathan did an AMAZING job at keeping the dance floor full at all times! My husband is Dominican and I'm Mexican, the music was a mix of everything and both sides of our family were pleased and we all had so much fun! No doubt we will book them again for future events! They are 100% worth it!

These guys are awesome! The venue we were using, Bella Woods, recommended them, and I’m so glad they did! From the very beginning, they were extremely thorough and thought of everything! We even used their photo booth and bartender! They covered all the bases, and I didn’t have to worry about a thing!!! They went over and above to make our night wonderful! Our guests had a blast!!! Nathan is an exemplary DJ. He was very professional and flexible from the planning stage through the execution phase. He was very down to earth and made it really easy to understand what he offered and how he could go the extra mile. My fiancé and I were completely impressed and sold at our first meeting! Nathan from Total Event Audio came prepared and ready to hear our ideas. Originally from Jersey living in Texas and being used to a variety of genres played at a party..I was a little skeptical gettin a DJ locally and wanted one from back home BUT so glad I found Nathan & Joel...the mixture was hands down so ON POINT!!! I still get compliments on the music till today a month later and probably will keep getting them for a while. So happy we got to Jersey fist pump!
If I ever have another event, I will book them again. The monogram was beautiful as well, even tho it took me a while to actually choose one between all the beautiful options they have, Nathan was patient with me.

Love, love, love Total Event Audio & Lighting! Joel and Nathan were so great to work with - they were extremely professional, on time, helpful and nice. The lights they hung for an outdoor area at my daughter's wedding added such a nice effect. They were extremely willing to meet with us to discuss plans and work with our ideas. I loved the whiskey barrels they used to secure the lights - they added just the right touch. On the very busy day of the wedding they arrived on time and got to work without us having to get involved. The result was gorgeous! I would highly recommend these guys.

These guys were the best! Nathan and Joel were excellent and easy to work with. They were quick to respond to emails, flexible with our requests and even came out to the venue to scope out the work prior to our wedding. On the big day, they were on time, professional, and got their stuff done! We had them set up some outdoor cafe lighting that extended to poles on top of whiskey barrels (provided by Total Event Audio & Lighting) and it was perfect for the style of our event. We would highly recommend them!

Joel was by far the easiest and best vendor we worked with. His attention to detail, responsiveness, and delivery was incredible. He worked with our venue and photographer to ensure that our lighting was beautiful, and it was exactly what we hoped it would be. We would hire him again in a heartbeat.

These guys were AMAZING! They were so easy going and fun to work with. Nathan and Joel made our wedding day so special! Nathan knew exactly what music to play to get the guest dancing and Joel had awesome lighting. I couldn’t have asked for a better night. I would highly recommend them!

I’d never have a party without Nathan Acosta as the Dj he always plays the right music and keeps everyone on the dance floor my wedding was interracial blacks and Spanish and some of my in laws speak no English and he has the perfect mixes to keep everyone involved lighting and everything was perfect he and his team are highly recommended

We used Nathan and Joel for my son's wedding and they did an incredible job. They met with us to get a playlist, provided exactly what we requested and the dance floor was never empty! Their lighting provided the perfect atmosphere and we will definitely use them again.

My fiancé and I loved the great work they did at our couples shower! Before the event Nathan met up with us to talk about the kind of music we wanted him to play at our party, he was kind and really understood what we were trying to go for. The day of the party everything ran smoothly, no moments of awkward silence. He did a great job transitioning from one song to the other. The lights also gave the dance floor the perfect touch! Would recommend Total Event Audio & Lighting LLC to anyone!

I learned about Nathan through my now husband. I was extremely nervous about music at our wedding because we are Hispanic and our immediate family speaks spanish and the majority of our friends spoke only english. However, Nathan asked a lot of detailed questions, really got to know us as a couple, and the music, sound, lighting, and entertainment was a complete SUCCESS! We couldn't be happier with how he mixed it up and accommodated all of our friends and family! Almost 3 weeks later and people are still talking about how much fun they had at our wedding and danced all night! The day of the wedding the dance floor was never empty and I never even gave it a second thought that our guests were bored, which for that I am truly grateful!

It would not have the wedding with out Nathan!!! Amazing person and his professionalism was on point!!! I extreamly remcomend him for any event you have!! My family and frieds were extreamly pleased with his services!! I have Spanish and English friends so his mixes, style and variety of music was amazing!! Our groom has worked with many DJ's and said Nathan and Joel were by far the nicest and most thoughtful DJ's he has ever worked with. The ceremony and reception were perfect. The father of the groom said it was one of the best weddings/receptions he has ever attended and not just because it was his son's!

Need lighting and an AWESOME DJ? Total Event Audio and Lighting is definitely the way to go! Nathan and Joel were so easy to work with and definitely did an awesome job at giving us the ultimate wedding experience! I've been to quite a few weddings and have never seen a dj pack out the dance floor like Nathan did! I wish I could upload pictures on here to prove it but I guess you just have to book them to see :) On top of that, the lighting and monograms that Joel and Nathan set up were phenomenal! It definitely gave the venue a more romantic ambiance! We got married on May 6th and we still have family and friends calling us and telling us how impressed they were with the lighting and dj. I can't thank Nathan and Joel enough for doing such an amazing job and making our wedding day more memorable!

Don't like planning a wedding? Neither did I! Total Event Audio and Lighting made the process QUICK and Simple while still providing a phenomenal service. Nathan invited my Wife and I out for Starbucks where we were able to get to know each other and explain to him the type of music we would and wouldn't like played at our reception. When it was time for the big day my wife and I walked down for our grand entrance and from that part on the dance floor was FILLED with guests dancing the night away. The venue we were at also didn't have the best equipment for the ceremony so he was able to provide his equipment and wireless mics on a short notice as well. If I ever need a DJ again you can bet I'll be calling Nathan and his crew at Total Event Audio and Lighting.

Joel and Nathan were very easy to work with and responded timely to our communications. We were so impressed they were flexible and accommodating to change, due to weather conditions. Joel and his team were amazing at our wedding. They got all our guests up and dancing early in the night. We had such a great time. They played all our requests and their songs they added in we're great as well. They were extremely organized and it helped to ease my fears closer to the wedding. Also my venue notified me 2 days before our wedding stating they couldn't find their projector and I was planning on playing a slideshow. Joel stepped right up and offered to let us use his and it saved the day. I was so thankful that we had someone who was so versatile and easy to work with. Something that is really important on your wedding day!

Nathan and Joel did such an amazing job at our wedding. They were referred to my hustband and I by my mother who does weddings and events for a living. They worked with us every step of the way and went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of. They did a great job keeping the party going.
