    Bullwinkle’s was a perfect caterer for our wedding

    Bullwinkle’s was nothing short of amazing. They were so helpful with finding a menu within our budget and the food was the best tasting caterer we found. All of our guests are still talking about the quality of their food! They even accommodated and made a special meal for a guest with a dairy allergy

    Top Hat Catering was wonderful to work with. They were able to set up a taste testing and allowed us to try many items on their menu. The day of our wedding, our guests were going back for seconds and are still raving (2 weeks after our wedding) about their meal! The linens they offered went perfectly with our color theme, their staff was very professional, and their services were excellent. I would definitely recommend Top Hat Catering.

    We did the BBQ ribs, pulled pork, chicken breast, mac cheese, mashed potatoes, and green beans. I had nothing but amazing reviews from all my guests. I had one person tell my parents that this was the best wedding food they have ever had. The mac and cheese is to die for.

    That and the staff were so helpful throughout the whole experience from tasting throught the cleanup afterwards. So happy we went with them.

    Top Hat Catering was one of the highlights of our day! The food was phenomenal and our guests gave us many compliments! The staff was extremely easy to work with, and the servers at the buffet were extremely friendly.
    Our Bartender was also very nice, she did such a great job, and people loved our signature drink that Top Hat suggested to us (Vodka and Lemonade with strawberries). They cleaned up after themselves so well, and had PLENTY of food! We have some nice leftovers :).

    We used Top Hat to cater our wedding and we are definitely glad we did. They made so much food! The value was terrific and they worked with us on pricing. The food was delicious! They even had vegetarian options which we served as well. They also provided a bar tender for the duration of the reception. The staff is really what was the best part. They were so nice and helpful. They were very accommodating and the day wouldn't have gone as well without them. I would definitely suggest them for your next event, the food was very good but get to know the staff because they were great!

    Outstanding food and service! I contacted a lot of caterers and none compared to Bullwinkle's! Not only is the food amazing (my guests raved about the food), but they also included with their package deal, table linens, napkins, and I had the option of adding on all cocktail mixers, ice, cups and a bartender for a really reasonable price.
    The filet, talapia, chicken Marsala and Alabama chicken were all awesome!

    First off the food was delicious! And all of our guests agreed. Luckily we saw a couple taste testing when we were at dinner at Bullwinkle's. Or we may have missed out on our amazing wedding food! The price was cheaper then some other caterers we'd met with and their food was nothing to brag about. If you want good food book Top Hat! John was great to work with! The only complaint I had was we were told that he would bring the linen and kegs the day before. So we planned on decorating tables after the rehearsal dinner. He called that day and said he got another job and couldn't come until the morning of the wedding. It would of been nice to not have to stress about table decorations before the ceremony. But John and his team did set the tables, put centerpieces, and all of the candles that day because of it. They did our bartending too! The food was more then perfect and highly, highly recommend.

    This was by far the most reasonably priced catering around ... the big surprise was that the food was absolutely delicious!! The menu options are unique and all very yummy. We were made to feel special and important from day one - the service was exceptional. Highly Recommended - also just date nights at Bullwinkles for some great food! :)

    My husband and I did only two tastings total, before we knew Top Hat was the way to go! The food was DELICIOUS! My dad is a celiac, so they made sure there were gluten-free items so he could enjoy the meal as well!

    Out of all our wedding planning decisions we made, my now husband and I agree ten fold that choosing Bullwinkle's to cater our wedding was one of the smartest choices we ever made. The food was excellent and piping hot as if it came right from the kitchen of their restaurant. They made everything go so smoothly and made our wedding. Our guests repeatedly told us how impressed they were with the food. Our Facebook has blown up with guests still talking about the "awesome food". I just can't say enough! John Sizemore was a pleasure to work with. I really felt like he was our friend through the entire process.

    When we first reached out to this vendor the communication was a little slow. But once we brought our concerns to their attention, they were very responsive and flexible with our needs. From the moment we had our initial tasting, I was blown away at the quality of their food. This is not just the "normal" wedding buffet food, this is gourmet food!! This company really takes pride in the quality of their food. We have received so many compliments on how amazing the food was!!!!

    Bullwinkle's catered our rehearsal dinner and reception. We were worried about our rehearsal dinner because we realized a week before our wedding that the room we were going to have our dinner in was under construction. The owner assured us that it would be alright to still have the dinner in the room but since we were not happy with the appearance of the room, he reserved half of the restaurant for our rehearsal dinner. Overall, the rehearsal dinner went off without a hitch. They have delicious food! Everyone at the reception talked about how good the food was. The staff at the wedding was extremely professional and there were no problems with the food at the wedding.

    The food and catering staff were AMAZING and they would get 5 stars for that. The pricing was what attracted us to Top Hat -- they are very competitive and include linens and china, which was great - but the delicious food immediately made up our minds. Everyone commented on how good the food was. My biggest complaint is the bartender did not seem to know what she was doing. We provided the alcohol, and were getting complaints from even some of the heavier drinkers that the drinks were REALLY strong. My MOH and Groom both asked her to lighten them up, but at that point we were already running out of things that we thought we had over-ordered according to the liquor store recommended amounts. I sent a cousin out to get a few things to restock, but at the end of the night most of what he bought came home with us, in addition to other extras of the same stuff, so clearly we were not out. They lost track of some of the champagne, so it never got served, and also came home with us. John can be difficult to get a hold of, we played a lot of phone-tag, but he is very easy to work with once you do and even worked with us on pricing for some of the extras. Highly recommend for food, maybe hire a different bartender.

    The food was delicious, and John was very helpful in preparing a special dish at my husband's request. We really wanted veal at the wedding, and John had no problems preparing it.

    It was a little difficult at times to get ahold of John, so be prepared to be persistent.

    My husband and I used to live in Miamisburg and eat at Bullwinkles a couple times a week, so it was obvious who we wanted to use for our rehearsal dinner. Overall it was a pleasant experience, the food was wonderful (as usual), but they ran significantly late getting food to our guests and had no drinks prepared for when we all came to sit down. The pricing is very fair and communication is excellent, so overall I would still recommend Bullwinkles for your events, just maybe tell them a half hour earlier than expected for your arrival so that they will have everything prepared.

    I was initially really excited about Bullwinkle's Top Hat Bistro. I'm not going to lie, their price for our rustic BBQ menu was the best we quoted anywhere with china and linens. However, the service we got made the extra expense of going with someone else well worth it. It took me 2 weeks to get a response from John Sizemore for just an initial quote. Then it took me 3-4 emails and 6+ text message (as I read on reviews that that was the best way to reach him) to even get a response on scheduling a tasting. Not even acknowledgement that he received an email or text. It's now been 2 weeks since our tasting with the owner, and we still haven't received a follow up email with the final contract and quote we requested. When we arrived for our scheduled tasting John Sizemore (the catering director who we scheduled with) wasn't even there. The owner said "oh he must have dumped you all on me." Really? He didn't even know we were scheduled and John S. mentioned nothing about meeting with someone other than himself. We tasted pulled pork, BBQ chicken breast, mashed potatoes, green beans, and mac n' cheese. The chicken was bland and a big fat no. The pork was so so, too dry. The sauce was overly sour. The green bean were overly salty and the mac was alright. The only thing we could all agree on was the mashed potatoes. The only thing positive my mother had to say about it was that at least she got a free bloody mary out of it. It's also worth noting that their china and flatware was far less impressive and formal than anywhere else we visited (they were like cafeteria basic) and the table cloths that are included (which was a huge selling point for us at first) are only lap length. I'm just glad I had this experience right off the bat so I could avoid booking them for our wedding. Everyone we met with through other caterers were eager to please, accommodate, and respond. They were friendly, welcoming, and organized. That was far from our experience with Bullwinkle's.
