Perfect for our wedding

Our DJ, Kevin, was incredible from our first introduction up until the end of our special day. He was responsive through email, and the owner, Ken, is so kind. Kevin played all of our requests and had the whole dance floor packed. I would highly recommend Tom Barrett Entertainment to any bride who wants an affordable, professional, talented and communicative DJ. He was so accommodating with my requests and ever-changing mind. I would hire them again in a heartbeat!

Kept the dance floor full the whole time!

We used Tom Barrett Entertainment for our wedding at Kings Mills - they were one of the recommended companies there. DJ Rich Kash was our DJ and he was phenomenal! He was so great to work with, easy to get in touch with, and did everything we asked! There was no slow point and people were on the dance floor all night long. So many of our guests raved about the music! Definitely would recommend this company and DJ Rich!

Great party

Company is amazing and very responsive!! The music was fantastic! Only thing I would have liked a couple more slow songs to dance too but truly not his fault as he did play slow songs it was the venue taking so long to serve each course that the dj has to figure out what was going on!

All in all I loved it!!!

Music that made our Souls Dance the Night Away!

The many, many songs that we had requested prior to the event were woven together into a beautiful tapestry of a well thought-out symphony of love songs that made the special day even more special! Kudos to Ken of Tom Barrett Music who made the evening perfect!

Ken was perfect for our guests!

Tom Barrett Entertainment was professional and personal! They made planning our wedding easy! Ken arrived early and set up for our ceremony. He transitioned seamlessly from the ceremony to cocktail hour to our introductions and reception. He read the room and knew exactly when to play our requested music!! Our guests of a large age range were on the dance floor.

Amazing DJ

Great DJ choice! Affordable and professional. Had our guests dancing all night with great music selection! Would highly recommend.

Our DJ was John and he was great! John called us the week prior to our wedding so we could discuss any questions or concerns we had and he gave us some great advice. He stayed true to our song list - both the play and do not play. He had the entire dance floor completely full the entire night. Many of our guests said they loved the music selection and hadn't danced that much in years. Having a fun reception was so important to us, and John really helped make that happen!

We had an absolutely amazing time with our DJ, Joe, who also happens to be the owner's son. We gave him a different challenge since we weren't doing a traditional bouquet toss we did a bouquet lottery. Joe was so great and had our flower girl choose the number. She loved that. We can't thank you enough for providing great entertainment for our special day.

John was the DJ at my daughter's wedding. He did a wonderful job and was very flexible with some last minute changes. Very professional organization. I would highly recommend.

A DJ can really make or break the wedding... so this was something we did a considerable amount of research on. Tom Barrett was very professional, answered all of our questions quickly, and was very reasonable in terms of price. We used Tom Barret for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception and everything went perfectly. John was our DJ for the night and did a great job! All of our guests danced like crazy. We could not have been happier!

We are so happy with our choice of Tom Barrett DJs as our DJ for our ceremony and reception. Tom was easy to work with, responsive, and helpful with suggestions, especially for our ceremony music. Joe was our DJ on the day of the wedding and was terrific! He was pleasant to work with and kept the night running smoothly. He played everything we wanted to hear and, almost as importantly, stayed away from anything on our do-not-play list (even if it was requested by a guest) – which we very much appreciated. We had discovered the company at our friends’ wedding so we knew they’d keep everyone dancing until the end of the night and Joe met our high expectations. I’d highly recommend Tom Barrett DJs (especially Joe)!

We had Joe as our DJ and he was awesome! He kept the guests on the dance floor and he knew what music to play and when to play it. He was friendly and very professional. I would highly recommend Joe to anyone!

Beyond happy with our dj. He played exactly what we wanted and our wedding party and guest danced the entire night. Couldn't recommend more and they are totally affordable!!!!

Our DJ did a wonderful job reading the crowd and providing music that kept guests on the dance floor all night long! We had so many guests give positive feedback about how great the DJ was and how much they liked the variety of musical selection. They also provided uplighting for our reception and did a great job creating just the atmosphere we desired!

I got married at the end of December and had a great experience with Tom Barratt's team! Our DJ played exactly what we were looking for and kept the dance floor going! He balanced what we were looking for with what the guests requested.

I can absolutely say that we 100% enjoyed the DJ services. They handled our special requests, consulted us with logistics questions and played an awesome grouping of songs for all ages and styles of music, keeping people on the dance floor all night long!

I chose Tom Barrett because my cousin had used him at her wedding a few years ago.
I am so happy with my choice.

The music was the one part of the wedding that I was really worried about. I love lesser-known bands, but I also really wanted everybody there to have a great time. The DJ seemed to glean that from the information I gave him. He spun the perfect mix of crowed pleasers while keeping my wishes in mind. Everybody was on the dance floor all night long. Kevin is wonderful at what he does, thank you so much!

John, our DJ, did a wonderful job of incorporating all of the song that we requested, even the ones that probably aren't very common such as Davy Jones singing "Girl". He was very friendly and professional. He did a great job!

I used Tom Barrett disc jockey for our daughters wedding a few weeks ago. I was so pleased! Tom was my point of contact. He was easy to talk to and very professional. Kevin was our dj for the wedding and we LOVED him! He has a great speaking voice and was the perfect combination of professional, fun and laid back. Tom Barrett DJs was the easying decision we made during this process. We first heard John, our DJ at a tasting. He was relaxed, played the perfect music for the setting and a pleasure to talk to. They helped find the perfect music for dancing, the most apprpriate music to hang our with for the cocktail hour, and some nice relaxing stuff or the dinner hour. We had a number of last minute changes which John handles smoothly and professionally.

We simply LOVED working with Tom Barrett. Our DJ was dressed to the nines (which went well with our formal affair) and was very accommodating with our guests. Also, Tom Barrett gave us a discount because our wedding was held prior to the "Wedding Season." All of our requested songs were played and our DJ certainly got the party going! Also, Tom Barret has you fill out instructions prior to the event so you essentially get to plan your whole set and your DJ has the names of your family and bridal party prior to announcing their entrance before dinner. You can also let the DJ know prior to the event about any traditions like the bouquet toss or the garter toss. And I love that they gave you the option of having a "Do Not Play List." The only thing you need to know is that Tom Barrett doesn't accept credit cards, so either pay with cash or a personal check.

We loved Kevin who was the DJ we chose!! He was just amazing through out the night he played a vary of music for everybody. We had such a good time, and everybody was saying the next day, and today how much fun they had on our wedding day. Thank you so much for everything!! Tom Barrett DJ was just perfect for our wedding. I planned most everything with Tom via email which was perfect for me because i was living in NC at the time of the planning. They were very responsive to my questions and concerns. And most importantly they were very flexible on the day of my wedding. My ceremony was moved indoors at the last minute due to storms. Our DJ was ready for whatever. My guests were on the dance floor all night long with a great mix of songs that ranged anywhere from country to oldies to just plain great dance songs. Everyone had a blast. Great party, Tom Barrett DJ's! You really kept my guests moving.

I had a very good experience with Tom Barrett DJs. My husband and I were very specific with the music we wanted at the reception. They were able to meet our needs and keep the crowd going. They were responsive and double checked all the details with us. Our venue had three rooms, and they also maneuvered that challenge well. If you want spotlights and props, these guys are not for you, but if you are looking for a classy and professional experience, I highly recommend.

I am very glad I went with Tom Barrett DJ's. My husband and I had somewhat unique tastes, and our DJ managed to play the perfect songs - there wasn't one song he played that we didn't like! They were easy to work with when booking, and they called the day before to make sure we were on the same page and to let me know who my DJ would be. They also had a great price. I had a hard time finding DJ's, but in the end I was very pleased with my choice.

The DJ provided by Tom Barrett was excellent. They were easy to work with and provided us clear instructions prior to the wedding asking for song requests and the timeline for the reception. In conjunction with the maitre'd at the Mendenhall Inn, our DJ made sure the reception went like clockwork. He was also very accomodating, working with my sister on displaying a slideshow with music she had prepared. Music selection was varied and my guests had a great time!

Tom Barrett DJs was a great company to work with! Music is very important to us and it was great to work with a company that "got us" and allowed us to be very detailed and specific. They were very responsive to all our requests. Our DJ was great at our reception. He was very professional, read the crowd well, made sure to play all of our "must haves" and even made sure we got a new "hot meal" at our table after we had been visiting with our guests. And at the end of the night, we received a CD they put together of our wedding songs played throughout the reception, a nice touch!

I have been to many weddings Tom and his group have done and recommended him to brides many times in my wedding photography business. Tom sent his top DJ Bill to us. Bill spoke with us to find out the music we requested and even purchased our first dance song because he did not have it in his files. He was very accommodating to everyone at our wedding.

The DJ kept the music moving throughout the evening. People stayed on the dance floor and that's what we wanted. The music wasn't too loud or overbearing. It was a good mix for all of our guests.

Tom Barrett was recommended by another vendor, but it's a large company and we weren't sure what to expect. We were really pleased. Everyone danced; the cocktail and dinner music was exactly what we had discussed over the phone (jazz not smooth jazz). The DJ who worked the event had not been to the venue, and the room posed some acoustic challenges, but he figured it out. Had he not mentioned having to tinker with speaker placement, we would have never known about the difficulties.

Lastly, you cannot argue with their prices. We saw DJs that were double or triple the cost. Maybe those prices are worth it for more bells and whistles (lights, etc.), but we wanted good music and professionalism, and that's exactly what we got.

I had heard great reviews about this DJ service which all proved to be true. I was a fairly young bride and did not want to be scammed by a DJ service by not asking the right questions, etc. After much research, the proof made it so that I had to choose Tom Barrett's DJ's. They were so easy to work with and on the day of, our DJ was fantastic. We were running late because of pictures and he helped us to get back on schedule without stressing me or our wedding party out. He was a fantastic M.C. and I had no worries once the ceremony started. He communicated well with the country club staff and I really couldn't have asked for more. My biggest fear was that people would not dance and I chose this company specifically because I heard reviews that they get people on the dance floor. The reviews were correct because literally EVERYONE was on the dance floor. My little cousins, high school aged brothers and sisters, college friends, parents and their friends, and grandparents were all dancing together! It seriously made my day and made me an extremely happy bride!! I could not have asked for more...people overflowed the dance floor and we danced all night! No corny dance songs...but a great variety of songs for all ages! I was extremely happy by the end of the night mainly because of the great DJ service.

Tom was by far the most enjoyable to work with - extremely professional, would give you honest feedback on different ideas (e.g. we wanted to have a mike for the outside ceremony - Tom did not hesitate to counsel against that idea), would also give you an honest opinion as to the accoustics of the venue that you are considering. I found it extremely easy to work with him!

The Company has a questionaire to be filled in advance of the wedding day - we wanted a different music for the ceremony which we included on a separate sheet. The execution was flawless! The DJ came to me before the ceremony to confirm the flow and everything came together as if I was operating the DJ station (I am no DJ, but I had imagined it and I had played it a home a gazillion times:).

Definitely - extremely honest, extremely competent, extremely responsive people!

Absolutely top-notch in every way. Tom Barrett Disc Jockeys has been in business for decades, and based on your music requests, they match the DJ to your own tastes. There are no "surprise" add-on charges - what you pay for is what you get. Highly professional, a pleasure to work with, and did everything just right. They definitely kept the music pleasant and enjoyable during dinner and then catered to the guests to keep everyone dancing to the very last minute of the reception. I highly recommend!

Tom Barrett DJs were wonderful! When we wanted to book a DJ, we wanted to work with a company that would be low-key and professional. We especially did not want a lot of chatter from the DJ during our reception, so we asked if they were willing to just play music. Unlike other DJs we contacted, Tom Barrett DJs immediately understood what we were talking about, and were more than willing to do our wedding the way we wanted.

The night of the wedding could not have been better. A week before, we had decided to mic the ceremony, and the DJ showed up early and was able to set up the sound equipment in the ceremony location and then move it to the reception tent with no trouble. The music was fun, appropriate, and kept all of our guests dancing all night - despite 95 degree heat!

We had asked that they play a mix of songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and traditional Indian music. This did not faze our DJ. He played a mix of exactly what we asked for. He was nice and very funny. I highly recommend.

Great DJ, played all requests, was not overbarring, literally every single person was dancing (we had people from 2-102 years old out on the floor)

Ken was a great DJ! He kept people on the dance floor the entire night. Tom Barrett also helped me create a mix for me and my dad to dance to.

Setting thing everything up with Tom Barrett DJ was easy and hassle-free, this was especially important as we were planning the wedding from a distance. The only recommendation I can make here is for an improved online/electronic presence as they required shipping their material to my APO which was a little slow. They were very flexible leading up to the ceremony and reception with some last minute changes we made to our script and song requests. Once on-site, John, got right to work setting everything up and talking to us about any last minute updates and made sure he had everyone's names correct. We had a long list of song requests that they were able to get to some of in between guest requests, and their equipment setup wasn't obtrusive or gaudy like some other DJ's I've seen. It was subtle and well-suited to our style, and John did a good job of keeping the party going. I think it is an artefact of the loudspeakers used for the reception, but the audio during dinner music sounded a bit off. Overall we were very pleased with John and Tom Barretty DJ's, and would definitely recommend them to anyone getting married looking for a professional and experienced team!

Our venue had their own sound system so we wanted someone that frequented the venue often- although we had never been to an event with Tom Barrett DJs, I felt comfortable booking them after looking at online reviews, and I am so happy we did! The company's slogan is "your wedding, your way" and this is so true. We were able to submit song requests and do not play request, which as a dance teacher and music lover was important to me. One big request we had was that our first song was not played from a cd or a digital file but rather on a vinyl record that was from my mother's collection. My husband and I love pur vinyl collection. My mother past a few years ago and it was importanot to me to have little touches of her in our big day. I was so worried with this being pulled off smoothly, but Tom put me at ease right away. Our Dj John helped arrange having the record player on display where all our guest could see. The second I heard our first song play, I had tears in my eyes- it was by far one of my favorite moments of the day. Thank you DJ John for not only making our first dance perfect but keeping our reciption a big dance party which is exactly what we wanted.

Tom Barrett was more than reasonably priced. The DJ they provided was perfect for my reception, friendly and professional. He also played the CD I'd sent in for the reception, despite me sending it after the deadline. Can't complain about the service at all!

We were very impressed with Tom Barrett Disc Jockeys. We had a destination wedding out of state in my home town and Tom worked with us and made the music planning from a distance very easy.

Our DJ John was dressed in a tux and was very professional. We didn't have as many people dancing as we hoped due to shy people and a lot of people mingling outside the tent, but there were still a lot of dancers and John kept us dancers all very happy. If we were able to I would ask for John again as a DJ. He was quick to play songs requested and was very personable and friendly.

I would definitely use Tom Barret DJ services again for another event.

I should add that the only reason we gave a 4.5 out of 5 for the service quality was because some of the music at important points and one or two announcements were a tad bit quiet and some guests were a little confused at what was going on. Nothing horrible but just a little on the quiet side.

We had Kevin from Tom Barrett DJ's, and he was great. He read the crowd, and kept people on the dance floor all night. He did a good job as MC, although we asked him to acknowlege some friends that recently got married, and I think he forgot, but other than that, he was great. I was a little worried about not meeting him before the wedding, but there was no need to. I would highly recommend using Tom Barrett.

Tom is a great guy; albeit old school but he's solid. Tom's DJ service came recommended by a family member to me. He had been used for their reception and they were very happy with him. At first, I was a little taken aback by his snail mail correspondence. As our wedding approached, he called me directly from his cell phone to assure me that everything would be fine. My venue layout was different than others, so I wasn't sure how the sound would be wired. Tom did let me know that our sound needs would be accommodated. On the day of our wedding, Tom sent Kevin. Kevin was great; he was professional and even complimented our playlist. I didn't get to converse with him so much, but everyone kept complimenting the choices in music. I even heard he handled a challenging family member with grace! Thank you Tom and Kevin -- I am completely impressed with the outcome! I definitely recommend Tom Barrett Disc Jockeys.

My sister and my sister in law also used this company. Overall great result. Great DJ-ing! Kept people on the floor and dancing.

My only gripe- they say the DJ working your even will call sometime right before your big day. I called and asked if we could do this prior- they said no. The day before my wedding day, he still had not called. Do they not realize you are going to be incredibly busy they day before your wedding!!!!!!! I was not happy. I called and finally got a call back during my rehearsal dinner. For the record- I was not bridezilla, I am a very laid back person, but that pushed the limits. The responsiveness from Tom Barrett prior to all of this was fine.

The DJ for my wedding did a great job as far as what his job entails: setting up on time, playing music, acting professionally, and doing the announcements, etc. However, I thought the music was ordinary and generic wedding music. To put it simply, it was just BLAH.

I wanted to give the DJ a playlist where I had chosen pretty much all of the songs that would be played, however Tom Barrett himself talked me out of it because he said it wouldn't really allow the DJ to do his job. So, I trusted his judgement and only suggested a few songs. To my disappointment, the music was ok at best. I wanted a fun dance party at the reception, which is what we would have had if I had just gone with my music selections.

If you like generic wedding music (ie: "Last Dance" played for the....yes, last dance) -- that made me cringe by the way --- then I suggest this company because they did do a good job. But if you want current, dance music then this is not the place for you.

Dj Experience

I chose Tom Barrett Entertainment because they were on the recommended vendors list from my venue and because they were the cheapest one I could find. He did not introduce our bridal party out in the correct order (introduced maid of honor and best man before rest of groomsmen and bridesmaids). He also mispronounced and altered a groomsmens name as he was being introduced. We had just reviewed order of those walking out and names seconds before walking out. He did play all the requested songs I gave him and kept people on the dance floor.

They did a great job with the music selection, it was a good mix. It was difficult to hear some of the announcements, requested song dedications to the parents, don't know if they missed it or I did, couldn't hear the dedication.

the company was great and willing to work with us, but at the reception, we were not as pleased. He played great music, but did not seem to be invested in our party at all. he never really said anything or even tried to get anyone up and dnacing.
