Patrick was an amazing officiant! He helped us so much through the entire process from filing for the marriage license to preparing the ceremony and taking care of the paperwork afterwards. The ceremony was easy to adjust and personalize and he did an amazing job performing it. I cannot recommend him enough!!!

Reverend Patrick was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. He responded promptly to phone calls and email correspondence. He also was able to provide ceremony templates to custom create the ceremony we envisioned in terms of sermon type, vow exchange and ring exchange prompts. My husband and I opted not to write our own vows so these templates were a big help.
Reverend Patrick also was professional in verifying time of ceremony, pronunciation of my husband's last name so that he could announce us as husband and wife, and promptly submitting paperwork needed for our marriage certificate.

Patrick was AMAZING!!
We absolutely loved our ceremony. From the very beginning Patrick was attentive and we had a few conversations on how we wanted our ceremony to go. We incorporated 2 poems, which Patrick said beautifully and he stated the poems with such emotion that we ourselves felt more connected to the words when spoken. He met with us prior to the ceremony to make sure everything was smooth and exactly how we pictured it. We can't recommend Patrick enough, and the ceremony was a highlight of our wedding day. Thank you Patrick again for being a part of our day!!

Perfect Wedding Ceremony!
We are so grateful to have had Patrick be such an important part of our wedding day. Leading up to the wedding, he was very helpful in answering all of our questions and going over everything very thoroughly. Where do we even begin? To Have & To Hold Ministries is THE best! We had the pleasure of having Rev. Patrick officiate our wedding and to say it was the best decision we made when it came to our officiant is an understatement. From the very beginning, Rev. Patrick made our ceremony planning so easy and stress-free. Rev. Patrick really took the time to get to know us as a couple and our life stories which made our experience so unique. Throughout the planning process, Rev. Patrick was always so quick to respond to questions and always explained everything in detail. The template and many ceremony samples (welcome, opening prayer, vow/ring exchange, etc.) provided were all outstanding. He made the entire process of applying for our marriage license to receiving our marriage certificate a breeze. Rev. Patrick delivered the most beautiful ceremony we could've asked for. Amazing Officiant
We worked with Patrick for our wedding on April 15th! He far exceeded our expectations. He was warm, personable and really cared to make sure he got to know us before our wedding day. Patrick was organized through out the planning process. He was quick to respond to questions via text and email and helped to walk us through our ceremony with patience. The day of the wedding he was calm and excited for us! He preformed the ceremony with ease and spoke a a pace that was loud and clear for all to hear. He was able to make the cermoney religious enough for our families but not to heavy for us. He was efficient in having the marriage license signed and filed which was a huge relief for us! We could not have pictured our day without him! We have even referred him to a friend who booked him for their wedding.

Where to begin? From day one when we spoke with Rev. Ed, we were so impressed by his kindness and professionalism. He just makes you feel at ease, and we knew this was someone we wanted to officiate our wedding. The whole process was seamless. Perfect Officiant, Twice!
We are so thankful that we chose Patrick as our officiant for not just 1 but 2 weddings. We originally had Patrick booked as our officiant for our wedding in July 2020 until COVID hit and we had to change our plans. Patrick was very accommodating and helped us work through the process. We decided to have a small wedding at our parents’ house in Lake Hopatcong instead. Patrick guided us through the process of getting the marriage certificate and license. He gave great advice about how our ceremony should flow and what readings we could have. We were worried about the noise with boats driving by in the background but Patrick handled it very well and paused when people wouldn’t be able to hear him. We were in love with our ceremony and the videos we took of the special day and it’s thanks to Patrick’s great work.
We and our guests both loved Patrick so much at our COVID ceremony that we had to book him again for our postponed wedding in July 2021. Just like the first round Patrick was very helpful and guided us through what word choices we could use since we were already married, like “the relatively new couple” and “renewing your love for one another”. With our confidence in Patrick we felt we didn’t have to be nervous about how the ceremony would go and this allowed us to really enjoy our day and experience the beautiful moment. Thank you Patrick for making both of our wedding ceremonies something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Rev Ed exceeded our expectations. We had heard great things, but he was amazing. A thunderstorm rolled in while we were at the altar. He asked if we wanted to pull the plug and go inside, my wife wanted to wait it out as long as possible. We all stood there together in the rain and he didn’t mind at all! Rev. Ed is the best officiant!
When choosing our officiant, we had no idea where to start. Our venue recommended Rev. Ed to us and from the moment we reached out to him, we knew that he was the perfect fit. He is warm, friendly, professional, yet not rigid. He walked us through each step of the process from the marriage license all the way through the marriage certificate. He was so knowledgeable about the process and that made it so easy for us.
His ceremony creation process is so organized and he provided us with tons of samples for us to be able to choose from to create the perfect ceremony for us. We highly recommend Rev. Ed for your wedding. Trust us...You will NOT be disappointed!

Rev. Ed and Rev. Patrick were both great to work with and made sure our wedding ceremony was exactly what we wanted! Rev. Patrick helped us to create a ceremony that was tailored to our preferences and did a wonderful job performing the ceremony. He was able to incorporate a special ceremony (love lock) for us that he had not performed before and it came out beautifully! Rev. Ed and Rev. Patrick were both very professional and extremely easy to work/get along with. We would highly recommend them to anyone that asked!

Reverend Ed and Reverend Patrick were both so amazing!! So personable, so professional absolutely everything my husband and I wanted on an officiant.
Reverend Patrick was our officiant for the day of our wedding and he was absolutely the perfect officiant for my husband and I. Prior to the wedding day he took the time to get to know us, learn about us as a couple and solo. He really let us create exactly what we wanted in a ceremony. I am so beyond pleased with the amazing job he did. Everyone came up to us and was so impressed as well. We love Reverend Patrick and can not wait to have him for our vow renewal next year, since covid happened we will have our big wedding reception next year. Lucky for us we get to work with Reverend Patrick twice!!

Rev. Ed was such a pleasure to work with. He performed our micro wedding ceremony and will also be doing our vow renewal ceremony next year when we have our big wedding. Rev. Ed was incredible to work with! He took all the thinking away from the official part of the wedding which made it even easier.
All of my guests have not stopped complimenting his beautiful ceremony. He spent time understanding is as a couple and made a special custom ceremony that was absolutely perfect for us.

Wonderful experience working with Ed
Finding an officiant was one of the last things on our list because we were not sure who would be right for the job. I saw Ed in action at my friends ceremony a year ago and she recommended I reach out. From the very beginning he made this process relaxing and easy. With the ceremony layout, our input, and Ed's understanding of what we were looking for our ceremony was perfect. He is so natural at this that I had so many people asking if he was a family friend, where did I find him, it was amazing. We were so happy to have him there for our mini-ceremony in September and look forward to having him for our larger ceremony/vow renewals next year!

The perfect officiant!
My fiancé & I went back and forth between asking a family member to officiate our wedding or hiring a professional. We are so glad we chose to have Ed officiate our wedding. From our first phone call we knew he was a great match for us. Our first in person meeting prior to the ceremony felt like we were hanging out with a friend. Ed was professional and extremely knowledgeable. Ed listened to our story and was able to tailor our ceremony to be exactly what we wanted! Amazingly Magical
Our wedding day was everything we hoped for plus more. From the moment I spoke to Ed on the phone I knew he was the perfect fit. He has a strong attention to detail and helped us out with everything we needed every step of the way. The ceremony he created had me in tears it was so beautiful. For some one we had only met once and spoke with over the phone and email he sounded like a friend up there on our wedding day. He knew our venue and even took care of working with the dj and videographers to get the sound just right. He has such a caring way that he creates your ceremony and delivers it in way that keeps you engaged the whole time. We decided as a couple to write our own vows and as a non writer myself he agreed read them over and gave feedback if it was needed for both of us. Like I said he goes above and beyond and he is an MVP to add to your wedding when looking for an officiant. I highly recommend you look no further and book Rev Ed now. You will not regret it!

Rev Ed was the best to work with throughout the entire wedding planning experience. He laid everything out clearly from the beginning, gave simple step by step instructions and was very responsive and great to communicate with. He supplies all of the details needed not only for the ceremony but for any needed paperwork before and after the wedding.
He brought so much professionalism while being warm, inviting and making everything personal to us. We are still receiving compliments about how much everyone enjoyed the ceremony and how great Rev Ed was.

Shop no more – Reverend Patrick is one you need!
Reverend Patrick was such a pleasure to work with. We were honored to have him officiate our wedding! He is a true professional that is very articulate and organized. He made us feel so comfortable from the first time we spoke to him, so we knew we made the right selection! The other big plus is that he makes the whole process so easy. You can either write all of your own passages for your ceremony, or you can select from his extensive library. They are really good all on their own, or you can personalize them to make them your own. Reverend Patrick then reviews the whole ceremony with you, what will happen, when it will happen, and reviews your entire ceremony. He also provides great suggestions, based on his experience. What a pleasure he is to work with! After the ceremony he also provides you all of the information you will need to obtain your marriage license, copies, etc. He really supports you from one end of the process to the other; he’s not there just to show up at the ceremony. We were so proud to have Reverend Patrick with us on our very special day and we will not forget how wonderful he was. You are bound to be nervous on your big day, and Reverend Patrick is the calming factor everyone needs - highly recommend him.

Amazing ceremony !
My husband and I were looking for a professional, yet friendly and personable officiant to perform the ceremony (on our June 29th wedding.) We first spoke with Rev. Ed , reviewing policies , pricing, etc. He was great , again , providing us with a more personable experience along the way. He put us in contact with Rev. Patrick, who would officiate our ceremony. Rev. Patrick was also very personable , asking us questions and starting up conversation that could allow him to get to know us as a couple. He provided us with the chance to really create our own vibe by giving us input on the readings and verbiage used during the ceremony. Rev. Patrick was on time , handled all paperwork, and even followed up post- ceremony. We are truly thankful and pleased with Rev. Ed and Patrick’s professionalism and service. The Best Ever!

Excellent, feel so blessed he performed our wedding ceremony
I've been struggling to find the right words to convey how happy my husband and I are with the excellent service Rev Ed provided. From the moment we got in contact with him we felt so comfortable and knew he was the perfect choice to perform the ceremony for our wedding. Rev Ed is up on the latest technology and found creative ways to work with us. Being we both work full time jobs, I attend school nights, and my husband teaches nights we were SO pleased to find a vendor who would be flexible and could work with us remotely. We spoke with Rev Ed over the phone, via facetime, through emails, and communicated through multiple shared google documents. He truly made cultivating the perfect ceremony a breeze. Our ceremony was heartfelt and beautiful, it had the perfect balance of intimate details about our relationship, religious elements, and included our family and friends. Rev Ed provided us with so many options and ideas, allowed us to mold and mend his readings and sayings to fit us perfectly. Our ceremony was SOSOSO beautiful we are SOOOOO happy we made the right choice in hiring Rev Ed to perform our ceremony.
Side note: my father-in-law and his fiance asked for Rev Ed's info because they loved him so much at our ceremony that they would like to use him for their own!

Rev Ed was nothing but amazing. His level of professionalism and knowledge in the field made our experience incredible. He was able to give us a myriad of options so that we could customize our ceremony to exactly what we wanted. He was incredibly professional and prompt from our first meeting to helping us with our marriage after the big day. We had many family members and friends comment on how great our ceremony was. Ed also worked very well with our other vendors. We had a bagpiper play us down the isle out of the ceremony and he was able to communicate directly with him so that the end of the ceremony was as we imagined it. An absolute pleasure
Ellyn performed our nondenominational wedding ceremony perfectly. She was available for consultation as we needed her and she was prompt with her responses. The planning process was a breeze, and she was very detail-oriented; even when it came down to our desire to avoid certain words. Ellyn was able to convey exactly what we wanted in a concise ceremony, which was important since we were outside in December! Her delivery was heartfelt and sincere and she made us feel comfortable and calm throughout the ceremony. Throughout the wedding planning process, Reverend Ed Abato was a pleasure to work with. He was very professional, patient and willing to offer recommendations. His responses to my questions were timely and he worked with me every step of the way to make this process as seamless as possible.
On the day of the wedding, he made sure that everyone was at ease and that everyone felt comfortable with all of the exciting things that were about to happen. His delivery of the ceremony was beautiful as he captured our love perfectly in the most important part of the wedding. Our guests during the cocktail hour couldn't stop raving about how great Reveren Ed Abato did!

Rev. Ed was phenomenal. He worked with us from beginning to end. All my guests ranted and raved over how get he was during our ceremony, how professional he was and how clearly he spoke. Before the ceremony he came to my bridal suite and spoke to my son about his duties about being the ring bearer and also what he was supposed to say during the family vows. My son was extremely emotional during the family vows and after the ceremony Rev Ed came and checked on my son and gave him words of encouragement. I would recommend him to anyone he was definitely a great choice for my officiant.

best officiant out there!
After my officiant cancelled on me last minute, I was in a rush to find a new one. My venue recommended Reverend Ed and I am SO glad they did! He spoke as if he knew both my now husband and I for years and made us feel extremely comfortable. He communicated with us in detail everything we needed to get done before the wedding and the process after. I am thankful we had to opportunity to work with Reverend Ed. Highly recommended!!

Perfect Officiant
Rev. Ed was recommended to us by our venue, and we could not have made a better choice! He seemed to be invested in our wedding, and everyone thought that he had known us for years. You can tell that he loves doing what he does, and is passionate about it. We only met him once, but he made us feel so comfortable. Finally, he walked us through all the steps when it came to applying and obtaining our marriage license. Highly recommend working with Rev. Ed if you are looking for someone who is passionate about their work!

Rev. Ed was awesome!
Even though my husband and I were both raised in the church, we decided that we wanted a non-religious wedding ceremony. We spoke with a few different officiants and Reverend Ed was by far the friendliest and most responsive.
The wedding-planning process was very stressful, and I was grateful that this part of the planning process (the most important part) was so easy! Ed was very flexible and provided us with tons of suggestions that we used to design our own personalized ceremony. One suggestion he made was that we have an "unplugged ceremony" so that our guests' phones wouldn't be eyesores in our professional photos, and we're so glad that we took this suggestion! Our guests were truly present in the moment and we are grateful that our ceremony was able to remain intimate, rather than having it live on the internet for strangers to see.
On the day of our wedding, Rev. Ed felt like part of our family and our ceremony was absolutely perfect. Many of our guests remarked on how personalized it was to both me and my husband and many others assumed that he was a friend or family member. We are so pleased with the services that Rev. Ed provided and highly recommend them to everyone!

Best choice we could have made!
From the beginning we felt as if we were old Friends with Rev. Ed. He is so genuine, energetic, well spoken and truly cared about our special day. He made every effort to make sure we had the ceremony we dreamt of. All of our guests were blown away by how special he made our ceremony. For two people that were really nervous about our ceremony, Rev. Ed made it the highlight of the day!

Best Officient Ever!
Reverend Ed made every step of the process from applying for our marriage license to putting together a custom ceremony, super easy! It was nice to have one less thing to stress about because I felt comfortable that Reverend Ed was updating me with time frames on when things needed to be done by and sending me reminders. On the day of the wedding, Reverend Ed moved everyone. He engaged our guests, cracked a joke or two, and blended our custom ceremony seamlessly. We got so many compliments on the ceremony afterwards which was awesome. Now that the day has come and gone, Reverend Ed has sent me instructions on how to apply for my marriage certificate and an estimate on how many copies to get. He's SUPER helpful as well as one of the most genuinely kind people one could hope to have officiate their wedding.

He made the process so easy by giving us what we needed to prepare for the big day while also giving us options of what we wanted included in the ceremony. Reverend Ed Abato is extremely professional and experienced in his work. We had to find a wedding officiant on a short notice and he proved to be very helpful and answered all of our questions in no time. He walked us through everything from our wedding vows to the ceremony tips. He gave us a lot of freedom in terms of what we would like him to say during the ceremony so it would fit our personalities. He provided a number of readings and vows we could choose from and he put it all together into one beautiful wedding ceremony. We had a small wedding with no rehearsal, we also haven't met Reverend Ed in person before our wedding, but with his guidance it turned out perfect in every way. Our guests were truly touched, we all laughed and cried during the ceremony. I could not dream of a better wedding day. (Side note: He has a beautiful, clear voice, everyone could hear him very well with no microphone even though there was a waterfall right behind us.)

Rev. Abato made the ceremony planning process as easy and stress-free as possible, leaving my wife and I the time we needed to handle everything else associated with planning a wedding. Not only was he incredibly professional and thoughtful before, during, and after the ceremony, but it felt like he knew us personally, which really came across to our guests during the ceremony. Everyone came up to me to tell me how much they loved our officiant, but I wasn't surprised because you can tell he really loves making his clients' wedding day feel even more special.

Rev. Ed Abato had everyone at our wedding crying and smiling. He made my husband and I feel extremely comfortable, and ensured that we were prepared. My husbanded and I went with a non-denominational ceremony and we did not write our own vows. I was afraid that the ceremony would become basic or not special, but Rev Ed made it very personal. Ed was a fantastic officiant for our wedding in July! He sent us several options for readings and vows to chose from to ensure our ceremony would have the tone and feel we were looking for. He was extremely flexible in scheduling facetime calls with us and put us at ease immediately despite the fact we had not seen him perform a ceremony before our wedding. Several of our guests commented on how great of a speaker he was. We would without hesitation recommend him to anyone looking for an officiant for their wedding.

We were married by Rev. Ed yesterday. We're leaving for our honeymoon tomorrow and one of the first things on my To Do list was to sit down and write this review before we leave for our trip.
We are both so extremely happy with our ceremony performed by Rev. Ed. From the first time speaking with him all the way to our wedding day, he was above and beyond helpful, professional, responsive and available to answer all of our questions. He guided us through the steps of applying for our marriage license and what to do in the upcoming weeks. We were very impressed with how well organized he is with his google docs layout and examples of readings, and happy we were able to really see our ceremony come together in words before our wedding day. For having to select an officiant online without knowing the person beforehand, Rev. Ed 100% made us feel very comfortable that our ceremony was going to be exactly how we pictured it to be. SO many of our guests said it was such a beautiful ceremony and raved on how well spoken he is.

Rev Ed was amazing! Very professional, helpful, thorough and encouraging. The instructions and documents he provided to help us create our vows were super helpful. He also provided help in applying for our marriage license. My husband and I received many compliments after the ceremony from our guests....many said it was the best ceremony they had attended.
I recommend meeting in person....it made our husband and I feel super comfortable and prepared for our wedding day. It also gave us time to ask all of the small questions that many forget.

We used Ed Abato for our wedding at Memorytown. He was very professional and responded quickly! He accommodated all of our requests and was flexible when it came to our in person meeting. When we sat down with him, he helped ease our worries about the day of and we left feeling as if we had just sat down for coffee with a friend. Rev. Ed was highly prepared and helped create a beautiful ceremony with various readings and prayers. We had many guests comment on how special the ceremony was. I can not say enough great things about Reverend Ed! He was recommended to us through our venue. We came on wedding wire to read nothing but positive reviews and I can see why! From our first conversation to discuss the ceremony to the actual day itself Rev. Ed is professional and prepared, but more importantly you feel that he is truly invested in your ceremony and marriage. We strongly recommend Ed Abato as a wedding officient. He officiated our ceremony at David's Country Inn and facilitated our rehearsal the evening before. After we booked with him, he provided a large selection of samples (readings, opening prayers, "special" ceremonies) and helped us put together a beautiful ceremony. On his recommendation, we chose to have a Stone Ceremony at the wedding. Throughout the whole process he was thoughtful and organized. At the rehearsal he was able to quickly command the room and organize all of our wedding party, so the rehearsal didn't take longer than it needed to. Everyone was well-prepared for the day-of, where he arrived early and expertly performed the ceremony. We received many compliments on the ceremony and would recommend him to anyone.

My reverend was one of the last things I booked for my wedding.I put it off for MONTHS because I just didn't know where to start looking for an officiant and what to look for in someone.My [now] husband and I aren't church-goers, which would be the first and most obvious place to book your officiant.I knew I wanted someone who could guide us in the right direction, as well as listen to us and customize to what we felt was important for us and our families. Aside from that, I wasn't sure WHAT to look for.I kept thinking,"this is one of the most intimate moments of our lives,how does one even begin to choose a stranger for such an endeavor?"
I poured through quite a few options and messaged a few, including Ed.He looked normal enough.He called soon after...he sounded normal enough also.We met him at a Starbucks in the coming weeks and all felt right.We talked for much longer than our planned 30 minute meeting, but it was because he was so easy to get along with.We knew without a doubt Ed was our guy.
He worked with us to figure out what we wanted to include in our ceremony, and gladly left out anything we didn't want.He was well spoken with a clear, strong voice.He's kind, personable, funny, and was more than I ever could have asked for or imagined in an officiant. Many of my guests raved about what a wonderful ceremony it was.We all put so much into the reception, but isn't the ceremony what we're actually doing it for? We absolutely loved working with Reverend Ed! From the beginning he was so responsive to our emails and answered all of our questions concerning the "script" for the ceremony. He helped us design a ceremony that was so heartwarming and special to us. The day of he made sure to check in with my husband and I to go over any last minute details, which was so reassuring during that busy day!
