Beautiful and Thoughtful!

Rachel of Tildy Designs was a joy to work with. From our intial consultation, she and I clicked! She totally understood my vision, worked within our budget, and maximized our quantity and quality of florals. She did beautiful work- we were thrilled with our florals and her personal touches. She was so kind and called in frequently to see how wedding planning was going- asked if we needed anything, etc. She was an absolute joy to work with! So grateful for her

The best!!

Rachel was amazing from start to finish. I was pretty much clueless when it came to wedding planning but she took as much time as I needed to answer any questions I had and give me some fantastic ideas. The bouquets and boutonnières were AMAZING!! I could not have been happier with them. She managed to take my colors and turn them into the perfect addition to our wedding. Highly recommend!!

Absolutely loved my experience with Tildy Designs! When I first started working with Rachel her business was down town MHC but moved to New Bern unexpectedly but it did not put a damper on my experience. She was more than willing to work with me & my budget. Not to mention she helped deliver the flowers @ low cost since she moved. Highly recommend

I walked into Rachel’s store on a whim back in February to window shop some bridal and maid of honor bouquets. Rachel greeted us immediately and told us she would answer our questions right then even though we didn’t have an appointment. I am the worst kinda girl. I don’t know anything about flowers. All I knew was I wanted coral colored flowers and that I loved daisies. Even with my vague answers to all of her questions, Rachel absolutely KNOCKED IT OUTTA THE PARK with my bridal bouquet, maid of honor’s bouquet and the small flower bracelets for my husband’s and my mother, as well as the boutonnieres for the guys. I had no idea what to expect, and was so blown away by how beautiful everything turned out. I got so many compliments on our wedding day regarding the flowers!
Not only did Rachel do an awesome job with my flowers, but she also introduced us to Mike with Beaufort Photography. They were both wonderful to work with and I can’t thank Rachel enough for everything she did to help us on our wedding day! Thank you Rachel!

My mom and I did not have an appointment, but went in hoping to see if this was a place to consider. Rachel happened to be free, so she just met with us. We were there for 2 hours. I had a good "general" idea of what color flowers I wanted, but nothing more than that. Rachel is so talented and I love her style; she made my wedding flower vision come to life.I genuinely loved the flowers used,the little accents of greenery, etc. Up to the week of the wedding, she did a wonderful job of communicating with me to make sure we were on the same page for setup, delivery time, etc. My wedding day came and the flowers were GORGEOUS!!! Everything was perfect! My bridesmaids loved their flowers, and we used greenery accents for the groomsmen which looked really good as well. We also had this absolutely beautiful arch of flowers that wedding party and guests all commented on how beautiful it was and that it just fit with the venue perfectly. Rachel did a wonderful job and is so incredibly sweet! I would absolutely recommend her!!

I chose Tildy Floral Designs for both my bridal portrait bouquet and wedding day bouquets/boutonnieres. The bridal portrait bouquet looked o.k, but just not what I had in mind. I emailed Rachel, the owner, and what changes I would like to make for my wedding day flowers...and boy did she listen! My wedding day bouquet was beautiful!! I had so many compliments on it. Even my husband couldn't get over how great they looked. I also had a huge cross that she did an amazing job filling with so many roses. It looked so good. I would definitely recommend Tildy for your wedding flowers!!

I was lucky enough to find Rachel after a terrible dress shopping experience. I walked in her shop alone and within a hour I walked out of her shop with not only my dream dress but so much more! I had found a dress, a florist, a wedding planner, and most of all a calming spirt in the 9 months of wedding planning. As a bride to be all I knew is things that I didn't want in my wedding and no real plan. With her guidance I had a beautiful wedding and a stress free experience. Her flowers were amazing and provided the venue the feel that I was going for. We wanted to shop local for our wedding and in Rachel found a way to do that and more. She truly is the best!!

I cannot tell you how happy I was to work with Rachel. It was the BEST wedding planning decision I made. She was my wedding coordinator and florist. Ladies that is the best thing you can do for yourself on your wedding day is hire a wedding coordinator. They take all the stress off and you can soak in everything. The day goes by so fast anyways the last thing you want to do is worry about answering questions from the other vendors and worry if everything is set up, and the list goes on. The flowers and decorations at our wedding was exactly what I was wanting. I provided Rachel with some photos of flower arrangements that I liked and she took it and ran with it. Everything was perfect. She is phenomenal you will not regret working with her!

Before finding Rachel, I spent countless hours researching my options in Emerald Isle. She seemed the most experienced, professional, and sophisticated in the area. Honestly I was a bit surprised when she agreed to help me plan a wedding in less than three months. Thankfully, she said yes.

She also didn't flinch when I told her the wedding venue was a nearby cafe/coffee shop. In such a short period of time, she had to transform a cozy local breakfast nook into our dream wedding venue.

While I just hired Rachel for floral design, she took the extra time to help connect me with other vendors (music, hair/makeup, cake) in the area and even talk me through the ceremony itself.

My review ends the moment I walked into that little cafe/coffee shop, which was now filled with soft market lighting, curly willow, and garden roses. It was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.

My husband and I live in Georgia but wanted to have our wedding in North Carolina because we have many friends and family there and we have a close, personal connection with the state. A friend of ours in New Bern suggested we consider the Emerald Isle area and that we contact Rachel Deere with Bridal by the Sea. This may have been the best suggestion we ever received. We flew to North Carolina to meet with Rachel and we had an instant connection. Even though we were meeting her for the first time, Rachel felt like an old family friend. She was so warm and welcoming. We knew instantly that we had found our wedding planner. Now, coordinating a wedding from another state is tricky - but Rachel made it so easy. Her rate was reasonable and she was available for us 24/7 if we wanted to talk through ideas, raise concerns, or just discuss the general wedding anxiety that many couples feel as they plan for their big day.

Rachel and her team at Bridal by the Sea are so creative and imaginative. Rachel handled every element of our wedding; from venue to food to entertainment to lodging. She had every base covered. Rachel helped us bring the wedding of our dreams to life. We will always be grateful to Rachel and the Bridal by the Sea team for making our wedding day truly magical. I recommend her very highly. She is the absolute best!

Rachel did an amazing job on floral and decor for my October 2014 wedding. I couldn't be happier with the end result. It was so fun working with Rachel from start to finish - she had some amazing suggestions throughout the planning process to help me save money, identifying easy projects for me to take on while she did the heavy lifting. Our bouquets and boutonnieres looked amazing and just as I had envisioned. The ceremony space provided just enough decor to make my beach wedding special without taking away from the beauty of natural surroundings. The reception was breathtaking, with beautiful lanterns hanging from the rafters above and tables covered in candlelight to make the environment intimate and cozy. I would recommend Rachel to other brides in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our day so special!

Bridal By The Sea and Tildy Designs were lifesavers! In planning my daughter's wedding, I realized early on that I was in over my head with planning and details. Rachel to the rescue! She provided links to vendors that I would have otherwise never found from music to transportation! Not only did she provide the links, she actually worked with the vendors to ensure they delivered exactly what we wanted for our events. Throughout our 10 months of working together, Rachel consistently provided sound advice and information with a calm professional demeanor. In addition, Tildy Designs provided the most beautiful flowers and décor throughout the weekend. Rachel's designs are outstanding! She has a intuitive way of determining what type of designs are appropriate for events as well as those attending them. Thanks to Rachel, I was able to attend and enjoy all of the events without a worry that anything would go awry. Rachel and staff were always available and made sure everything ran smoothly. This was truly the best investment I made in the wedding! Thanks Rachel!

I was planning my wedding while pregnant and she literally headed off every issue before it got to me so I could be stress free and concentrate on my pregnancy and the birth of my son. When I got word that my top choice caterer wasn't going to be able to provide the food for my wedding I almost panicked but before I could even call Rachel, she called me with a new caterer and a tasting set up and ready to go. And the food was amazing! Rachel and her staff allowed me to sit back and enjoy my day knowing all the behind the scenes was taken care of!

Rachel and her team worked hard and FAST for our wedding, I called her with only a month to go till the wedding. I sent a picture of the flowers I wanted and she made the most beautiful bouquet. I had ordered loose flowers from her to place in vases but they realized that I was running out of time for the wedding and made my centerpieces for me!!!! What a welcome surprise. Many Thanks !!!!!

Rachel made my dreams come true for my wedding! My vision was almost completely based on the flowers and she worked so hard to get the flowers I wanted, going above and beyond! She was so welcoming and easy to talk to about the look I was going for and communicated with me every step of the way! She also set up our event rentals for us which worked out perfectly! I am super thankful we had her as our florist! I would recommend her 110% for anyone getting married, I'm sure she'll accommodate your style and do her best to give you the look you want!

With my family and I living 6 hours apart, we were concerned for how we would plan a wedding in less than 8 months! Once my mother and I sat down with Rachel, we were totally at ease. Rachel of Bridal By The Sea saved me. She took on my daughter's outdoor wedding with indoor reception only with one month's notice (I was lucky she was still available) and did a fabulous job. She recreated my daughter's vision of a "rustic"/Autumn themed wedding/reception, especially the outdoor arbor - just gorgeous. Very professional and detail oriented Rachel is truly a professional. I highly recommend her.

Every time I needed to change something with my flowers Rachel and her team were easy to work with and made it happen. Rachel and team were such an asset to our wedding experience! Rachel made us feel very at ease and our wedding day flowed perfectly from start to finish! She answered every one of our questions thoroughly and walked us thru every detail and created a timeline with us before the wedding. When I told her three weeks before the wedding that I needed a new hair dresser, she was on the phone making me a new appointment within seconds and the woman she referred was excellent! On the day of the wedding, every need of our was attended to and she made sure we ate and had everything we needed. As for my flowers and rentals, they were exactly as I had envisioned and as we had discussed. Rachel really paid attention to every detail and helped us create the perfect wedding day and we couldn't be happier with her services!

Rachel really helped with all the vendors and in fulfilling my vision for my wedding! I am so happy! The compliments just keep coming and we are so pleased with how it all turned out! Having Rachel eliminated a lot of stress! And..The flowers and centerpieces were the most beautiful I've ever seen! We had a last minute change from the beach to a covered veranda and Rachel made everything happen without a problem! I highly recommend Rachel!

I wish there was more stars because she definitely deserves more! Rachel Deere with Bridal by The Sea was truly a joy to work with and made our dream wedding come true. From the first introduction she took our thoughts and theme and created a truly magical vintage beach wedding. She is a genuine and very creative person and created a seamless magical wedding for us! The flowers were beautiful and beyond our expectations and created such a warm beautiful wedding! She took our family pictures, family finds, childhood memories and interwove them throughout our wedding. I was constantly surprised as I walked through the venue that night. Rachel and her team were brought in at the last minuet after we had to let our first planner go. They did a great job at getting up to speed on all that our wedding was about. Rain almost ruined our day but she stayed calm and made sure that we had our plan B in place. She even went as far as to suprise us with a bag piper at the last minuet. My, now husband and I we engaged while there was a bag piper playing in the backround, she knew this but also knew that we were not able to book a piper for our wedding as luck would have it there was another wedding taking place across the street from our venue and there was a piper there. Rachel went across the street and asked the piper to play for us....she gave it to us as a wedding gift and it just made the day that much better! Thank you so much ~

Rachel you were amazing and everything went beautifully, even the unexpected waterfall at the end was fun for the kids haha! My husband and I are still talking about how wonderful everything turned out, but it went by so fast! We did want to talk about the Dj, we were quite upset with him, his timing was good and he worked well with you , however he insulted one of our guests who is a very close friend of Evan's and I, some of the songs we requested didn't get played but maybe is was a time thing. But we won't be recommending them, their fee's were a bit outrageous for what they offer, the mic stand was a bit upsetting but all the fee's added up were even more so, for what they charge a clip microphone is the least they could do. Catering was awesome the food wasn't what we ordered but still spectacular! The guests are still talking about it. All in all it was a night to remember and you and your team did a fantastic job! Thank you for all your help in making our day unforgettable.

BBTS services were invaluable to us. Hosting an out of town wedding was daunting but Rachel and her staff made the event memorable. Of all the expenses for the wedding, this was the best value for the money. I have recommended BBTS to friends and they have utilized Rachel's services.
I did not think a planner would be necessary but I can say that if I had to do it over again, she would be the first one I would call. She has a host of contacts for other services and she was able to obtain the best prices. Her arrangements of flowers were the crowning touches. We simply cannot say enough regarding this service.

Rachel, owner of Tildy Designs, was extremely helpful! I was planning my wedding from overseas (Spain) and I'm not from the Atlantic Beach area so it was very important to me to have someone I could rely on. She made everything so easy. I knew right away that I liked her taste so I could trust her opinion on flower designs. One other great thing was that Rachel had a ton of materials to rent so I didn't have to bring my own bottles and vases for flowers, or crates for my cupcake table. She had everything! Overall our weddingand reception was lovely and the decorations were right in line of what we wanted. We were hoping to spend less on flowers and rentals given the economy but were satisfied. We had some problems with the DJ that we hoped the planner would have been more assertive, as he played the wrong music and started our recessional music early since he did not want to attend the rehearsal. Rachel was very flexible with our schedule, highly professional, and delivered a high quality of service along with her staff. We had several guests get deployed and/or held up at airports, so Rachel worked with the chef to allow us and the guests take the remaining food home. Her staff ran to the store to get containers out of their own budget. The planning was basically stress free for me, except for the DJ. I would recommend, that if it is in your budget, to have her do the entire event including vendors.

The flowers were beautiful, the decor I did a lot of the details myself, but what they did was beautiful. The overall design was what I wanted. The time leading up to wedding day Rachel was very responsive to emails and texts at times our emails would not reach each other so I found texting worked better for us. She knew lots of vendors and was helpful facilitating conversations. I felt at times I would have to repeat myself over and over again about what I wanted or sequencing of things. The only disappointing part of my experience was with wedding day, it rained and we had our back up plan but unfortunately, the plan that was implemented was not what we discussed so I never got to walk down an aisle like I wanted. When there was an option that we discussed to make that happen. Also a couple of my decorations were not in the right spot so they didn't make sense. After I have very detailed instructions and pictures for everything. Also my favors never got put out after I spent hours and money on them, that was disappointing. She also said from our beginning contracts that our cake topper that was simple was a gift to the bride and groom, but then she made us pay for it and we never received it. As far as coordinating and making the day and evening flow she did great. I understand because of the rain and losing the time of changing things around I was rushed through the whole reception. Rachel was very easy to work with and does beautiful work.

I was told during our first meeting with BBTS that about a month before our wedding I would have to "let go" and put my planning to the side. That things would be taken care of...A week before our wedding our other vendors were calling to ask me questions that should have been answered long before. I learned later that they were called by Rachel and told not to contact me anymore because I was mad that I was receiving phone calls...
The day of our wedding, we had no seating on the beach. When I called to ask about it, I felt as though I was being chastized for forgetting that myself. I was disappointed in the ceremony decor, (Looked haphazard) the DJ did not know my wedding party's names or the mother-son dance because it had not been given to them.
If I had to change one thing about my wedding, it would be this. I spent alot of money on the wedding planning and decor, and I feel like I did not get my monies worth.

I hired Rachel with Bridal by the Sea to take care of our wedding planning as I did not want my family or me stressing about it. Rachel was very nice and professional at our first meeting. She informed me that she also could do the flowers if I desired and to make it easier I hired her to do those as well. She actually came up with the centerpiece design and I just tweaked it a little. She started to become very unavailable as the wedding was getting closer. She knew all of the vendors, and they knew her, but apparently there wasn't a lot of communication going on. On the day of the wedding, the flowers weren't exactly what we talked about but they were still pretty so I didn't say much. She left my house and assured me that everything would be ready at the church. I showed up to the church and she was not there. Only her "team" was on site and they were just as confused as the rest of my family. She had called me either that day or the day before to inform me that our concept for the centerpieces wouldn't work. The flowers that were supposed to sit inside her glass cylinders were too big to fit. As stressed as I was it didn't dawn on me to be upset. But looking back on it, I had glass cylinders full of water on my tables with no flowers. She credited me a little but I believe her cost was still upwards of $5000 for the planning and flowers. And in the end the only flowers I had were the bouquets, groomsmen, parents and church door letters. The reception was a little bit hodge podge but she seemed to do her best to direct it. I guess the best word to describe her was distracted. I don't know what was going on in her life at the time but it was definately taking up a lot of her brain capacity. I just felt like she was not adequately prepared for my wedding day. But given her recent reviews I believe she is back on the ball at this time and appears to be doing well in her planking abilities.

I liked my first interactions with Rachel, because she took my budget, Pinterest page, and requests and created a proposal that looked great. However, I felt like changes we agreed to did not end up being implemented in the final designs. I ended up being happy with the bridal bouquet, floral-decorated arbor, boutonnieres, and mothers' corsages she provided for my wedding. However, the floral wristlets I ordered for my bridesmaids were not what I had envisioned. They looked like a cheap copout, when I had wanted to do something just a little different for them. It was one flower glued to some leaves. If I had known what they would look like, I would have ordered regular bouquets for them. The glued flowers immediately fell off of the wristlets, and Rachel was still there to fix them. All she had to say was "You have to be very careful with floral jewelry." They didn't even make it to the photos. Some of the wristlets had to be repaired by the day-of coordinators I worked with. In addition, the centerpieces I ordered looked a little boring. I got just a handful to complement the centerpieces I crafted with my mom and sister; our handmade centerpieces ended up impressing quite a bit more, and Rachel's did not stand out at all in my opinion. I had a mixed experience with Rachel; I still cannot tell if it was on her end or mine that the communication of expectations fell apart. I can say that she stuck to my budget; however, I felt like I got shortchanged in some ways.

Rachel was hired to help plan the wedding by supplying vendors who would fit our vision and our budget. Every person that she recommended were horribly over priced. Nevertheless my husband marched on and found our own vendors to use for the wedding without her help. Rachel had promised a discounted price on flowers if we hired tildy. We decided to interview her for that but it was a disaster. She was unprepared, had lost the e-mails that we sent with floral arrangement details. When we showed her the pictures we had she claimed they weren't possible and we should go another direction (FYI another florist fulfilled our requests without an issue and at a much cheaper price). We waited two weeks for a price quote on the flowers we would "settle" for. When no quote was given my husband contacted her and left a message. She replied with an e-mail containing the price quote. This would have been OK if the quote was for what we discussed. We informed her that we will not be using her for flowers and then things fell apart. I guess she felt slighted and refused to return calls or emails. My husband explained to her that if it wasn't for the money (paid in full) he would CONSIDER not using her service. For the first time during our entire "relationship" she immediately responded saying that she quit and would only refund half of our money. So she was hired to be there on the wedding day to make sure everything followed the timeline and went smoothly and quit a month before the wedding. The flower interview was for her sister company and had no bearing on our arrangement. Without her being at the wedding she failed to do anything at all but felt entitled to keep half of our money. We made complaints but in the end just gave up. Months had gone and it just wasn't worth our time. She has lied to the BBB and credit card company numerous times. I have all the emails and messages and will gladly share them to prove what a liar and thief this woman is.
