Amazing Venue

Thompson House & Gardens was a beautiful venue! The attention to detail with decorations and flowers were simply amazing. The owner is hands on and does everything she can to ensure that your wedding will be truly perfect! Stunning location and I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a wedding, party event, tea party, etc! Highly, highly recommend!!

Perfect Wedding Venue

We had our October wedding here and it was perfect! We did the floral and decor package which made everything way easier. The staff was great and flexible. The combination of indoor and outdoor space was a hit and our guests keep telling us how much they loved the venue.

Amazing wedding day

Thank you Thompson House and Gardens team for making our wedding day amazing!!!

Onn and Dana made our entire experience wonderful. From the first tour to our flower planning meeting, they went above and beyond. If you are looking for a venue that knows what they are doing, look no where else. I was blown around when we saw all of the flowers and decorations come to life the day of our wedding. The colors and details to each thing was so perfect.

Thank you again for making Sept 5, 2020 a day for the two of us to remember!

Wonderful Experience

I had my wedding at Thompson House & Gardens last weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! Although it rained all day (good luck), it still turned out beautiful. Sammy was a pleasure to work with and the floral arrangements by On were beautiful. Guest raved about the venue and the romantic atmosphere that was created!

The Thompson House and Gardens

I was married in October during a week day. They were able to accommodate my wishes in what my vision of the evening was suppose to look like. I was able to do a standard rehearsal as well. The staff was very friendly and professional. A very positive experience overall.

We visited a handful of venues, but none of them could compare to Thompson House & Gardens (THG). We wanted a venue that was a reflection of us and this venue was just that. Very intimate setting and it just seemed as if we were “home”. The house is great and they have so many ways to make it personable! Tiffany was the manager when we first booked and she was great throughout the entire engagement process! She moved shortly before the wedding and the new manager, Melanie, stepped right in. Also, Dana, who is the manager at their sister venue, 9 Oaks Farms, was excellent!! She was so responsive and so kind!! Always in great spirits when we called to ask questions. On, the owner, did an outstanding job on the flowers. They were beautiful!!!! Overall, this venue and their staff are great! Couldn’t have imagined our wedding day at any other venue. Thank you THG for helping us have a perfect wedding day at such a beautiful venue! Highly recommend!! Also a plus that this venue includes florals, decor, and much more. Also, unlike so many other venues, THG allows you to bring in your own vendors for food, DJ, bartender AND you can provide your own alcohol!! Can’t beat it!!!

Thomas House & Gardens was the perfect venue for our wedding! The staff worked with us the entire time! The venue is very spacious and accommodated all 230 guests that showed for our big day! Most all decor is included in the price you pay along with the flowers (which were absolutely beautiful) For us it was a no brainier; it was a one stop shop and made it less stressful on me, the bride! I would not have changed a thing and highly recommend the staff and venue!

My husband and I were married at The Thompson House & Gardens on December 30th and it was an absolutely beautiful wedding! Our was a smaller wedding and we had it all inside. The flowers and decorations were absolutely beautiful! The staff there was wonderful! It is almost a one stop shop for your wedding! Tiffany was a delight and made sure my day was great! On did an amazing job with the flowers. This is a wonderful place to get married.

We had our wedding reception here and it could not have been more perfect. Brittany (wedding coordinator) made everything so easy for us and was so quick to respond to all of my emails. She set up the venue so beautifully for us and cleaned everything up at the end. All we had to do was take home anything that was ours. The flowers by On were flawless. Could not have asked for more beautiful flowers. I highly recommend this venue for the perfect wedding. You will be so happy you did!!

I can't put into words how amazing our wedding day was! All of our guests had such a great time & thought that the Thompson House and Gardens was beautiful! Brittany was so helpful & was there for us all day long! Without her & Sheila our day might not have been as amazing as it was! My daughter was married at THG on May 21, 2016. The venue was beautiful, with flowers blooming in the gardens and the gorgeous creative floral arrangements. The buffet centerpiece was breathtaking. Our guests spent time enjoying the spacious property both inside and outside. Everyone marveled at how pretty everything was. The staff worked quietly and unobtrusively in the background. My expectations were exceeded by the magical environment they created.

My husband and I got married at the Thompson House and Gardens (THG) in Nov 2015. THG was exactly what we were looking for -- instead of having our wedding guests restricted to one room which is the case at many other venues, we wanted our guests to be able to walk around the whole venue, sit and chat in one of the smaller rooms of the house, and go outside. There are string lights out back that are very pretty, and we also had the string quartet play during the cocktail hour while our guests talked, enjoyed drinks and hors d'oeuvres, and played giant jenga and croquet.

We did not have a wedding planner, but we did ask Sheila to be our day-of wedding coordinator. Sheila does this for an extra price, and it is totally worth it. My husband made the remark after the wedding that we were really lucky to have Sheila there to help with the planning and coordinating of the wedding. Sheila decorated the house the way we asked her to, she reminded us of all of the little details that we may have otherwise forgotten (such as getting our marriage license!), she ordered and arranged all of the beautiful flowers, she contacted the vendors (DJ, photographer, etc) to make sure there were no problems, she directed the bridesmaids and family down the aisle during the actual wedding, she made sure the banquet hall was set up appropriately as we had discussed, and she put my items in the get-away car at the end of the night. She also kept everything on schedule and let me know when it was time for the toasts, cake cutting, bouquet toss, etc. During the wedding, many of my guests commented that every detail was perfect, and we really have to give Sheila credit for that.

The only downside that comes to mind is that the venue is somewhat close to the street, and I was worried that we would hear cars going by. However, it is not a busy street, especially on the weekend, and our wedding guests were mostly in the backyard or in the house anyway, so it wasn't a problem.

My husband and I got married at Thompson House and Gardens on June 13th. It was an absolutely amazing experience! Sheila was the most helpful day of coordinator and we had nothing to worry about the whole weekend since she had everything under control. The flowers were beautifully done through the venue as well! We loved having the wedding and reception on the same site and the flow was perfect from start to finish. We would recommend this site to all of our friends!

My husband and I got married at the Thompson House and Gardens April 4th, 2015 and had the best experience! The entire team is professional and works so diligently to make sure everything is perfect and goes smoothly in the planning process and on the day of the wedding. The venue requires you to use the floral company Flowers by On because they are partnered with the Thompson House and Flowers by On did an incredible job with our flowers and we would not have wanted to use anyone else! The venue and gardens are gorgeous and worked well with our vintage theme. We have nothing but great things to say about the Thompson House and they helped make the start of our marriage even more memorable and special.

we got married on May 2015. We had an Indian Fusion wedding with around 250 guests. It was absolutely amazing venue with such great character. This venue has many areas to take great photos. Our coordinator Sheila was very helpful and got everything lined up for our big day. This was their first Indian wedding and Sheila did everything to learn the customs and meanings of everything. The Thompson House did a wonderful job in making our day the best we could have imagined! They provide the flowers and decorations and do an AMAZING job with them. From recommending other vendors that are the best quality at the best price to deciding on florals and decor to easing any concern you could possibly have, the entire staff go above and beyond to make sure your wedding day turns out beautifully! I wouldn't recommend any other venue!

My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Thompson House! We hired Sheila as our wedding coordinator and it was one of the best decisions we made. On and Sheila run a beautiful venue that offers everything you could ask for in a wedding venue. They are extremely accommodating and flexible, and affordable. Our wedding day was perfect from beginning to end, and our friends and family can't stop talking about how beautiful the whole day was. We are so thankful that we ended up choosing the Thompson House as our wedding venue, and we haven't stopped reminiscing about our perfect wedding day.

The Thompson House was the PERFECT place to have our wedding! Sheila was incredible and handled so many different parts of our day! This venue is absolutely stunning. We fell in love with the size and uniqueness of the back and front yard. It gave guests so many places to explore and made everyone feel extremely welcome. The decorations and table set-ups were exactly as we asked for them. They are a flexible staff, yet extremely knowledgeable about their craft. We loved the room upstairs to take a minute to eat, gather our thoughts, and bustle my dress. We had roughly 100 guests and an 8 piece band and the dance floor allowed for plenty of room to dance and to sit and watch. The guests truly loved the location and we received a ton of praise. Finally, the Thompson House has so many garden shots with a variety of backgrounds for pictures.

Our wedding at THG was perfect. The venue is beautiful (especially the outdoor patio at night). Our coordinator, Sheila, created our dream wedding by taking our ideas from pinterest and designing all the decorations and flowers based on our tastes. The week leading up to the wedding, she double checked every detail with our vendors to make sure everything would go smoothly. The day of the wedding, she kept everything on track and took care of each little detail so that we did not need to worry about anything. Overall, Sheila and On were wonderful to work with because they are flexible and professional. They also show a sincere interest in making your wedding the best day of your life.

We had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Thompson House. Everything was absolutely exceptional, and we loved every minute of it. On and Shela did a wonderful job with the flowers. They met with me a few months before to go over what I wanted for flowers and decorations. They had so many great suggestions and it all turned out more perfect than I imagined. Nothing at all went wrong during our wedding and we had guests complimenting the wedding for months after. You will not regret booking this venue, it is awesome!

We fell in love with Thompson House from the get go, so I was so pleased to find out that it was also a good price. They are very flexible and allow you to use your own vendors (besides floral) which is a great plus. On and Sheila did an excellent job making the space look absolutely beautiful. I highly recommend Thompson House to anyone in the Athens, Bogart, and Watkinsville area, and for anyone in the Atlanta area looking for something that is a much better deal than anything in that area. We could not have been more pleased with everything.

I had my wedding at the Thompson House on October 19, 2013. My experience from start to finish was great. I did not have to worry about a thing. The staff at THG handles setting up, decorating and cleaning up at the venue. This was a huge help for my husband and I. One thing we did not want to ask our friends and family to do was to set up and clean up for our wedding. This made the experience much more memorable because I was able to focus on getting married and having a good time at our reception. Also I called and emailed several times to ask questions and clarify things and the THG staff was patient and answered all of my questions. Even down to two days before the ceremony I was beginning to feel the stress of the last minute things that go into a wedding and Shelia just told me not to worry about a thing and enjoy my day, this meant so much to me! They were great, I would definitely recommend THG to anyone getting married!

We had our wedding at THG on Saturday September 28th and it was the best day ever. Sheila and On were constantly checking in on me throughout the planning process and were sure they were accomodating my needs and wants. They were willing to meet with me at my convenience and go over any and all questions with no rush. All of the decorations were absoutely beautiful. Their attention to detail blew my mind. THANK YOU THOMPSON HOUSE!!!! We are over the moon with how wonderful our big day was thanks to the gorgeous Thompson House & Gardens! Truly magical! On & Sheila were so helpful with every aspect of the wedding planning, especially helpful the day of! They were quick with emails and phone calls and always had excellent suggestions along the way.

The venue is absolutely gorgeous!! Our guests are still talking about it! The flowers exceeded my wildest expections! The grounds are fantastic and the house is amazing as well! We loved the decor, the dining set up, outside/inside lighting- everything! The location is perfect, plenty of parking, and plenty of room to get ready on the day of!

It was the best day of our lives and we owe it to the Thompson House! Ready to build my time machine so I can relive that day over and over! Highly recommend this place!

If I could re-do my wedding, I would still select Thompson House and Gardens as my preferred wedding venue. It was an absolutely spectacular venue with gorgeous details!!! I felt as if I not only have a venue and florist with Thompson House and Gardens, but as if I also had a wedding stylist! Every nook and cranny was designed and decorated to embrace my theme and colors. Thompson House and Gardens had WONDERFUL communication throughout the entire wedding process and were quick to answer any questions I may have. The flowers were spectacular and were the buzz of the wedding! I would like to thank Thompson House for the AMAZING roll they played in making my wedding so very beautiful and wonderful! I would highly recommend them for any future weddings!!!!!

As a child, I can remember going to my grandmother's house in Gainesville and driving by the Thompson House on our way there. I've always thought it was beautiful and dreamed of getting married there. When my fiancé and I got engaged, we looked at a few different venues, but ultimately the Thompson House won out. We got married on June 21st and I can honestly say that my wedding was even better than I had imagined. On Guest, the owner, is fabulous. Working with On and Sheila was easy and wonderful. I told them my ideas and they made something wonderful. The flowers on the day of were stunning. Even more importantly, though, was that everything was easy and stress-free. My main concern was that the day of would be enjoyable for me and my family. I highly recommend the Thompson House (as well as using Jessie with Wild Flower Events) for your wedding. We had such wonderful feedback from all of our wedding guests! My wedding day was perfect.

Choosing the Thompson House was probably the best decision that we made for our wedding. Most of vendors came recommended by On, and I feel like we sort of got a packaged deal! On, Jessie Patton of Wildflower Event Services, Randy Burton of Dynamite Entertainment, and Maureen Adams from Bleu House Cafe worked together like a well-oiled machine, and they made our wedding pretty much perfect.

We have had nothing but rave comments from family and friends about the venue and flowers, and I can't possibly say enough positive things about On. Her florals are gorgeous, she's so kind and accommodating, and she knows weddings inside and out.

I'm gushing at this point, but as a bride, knowing my wedding (and so many of the details!) were in such competent hands was a giant blessing.

On, the Thompson House and Garden was perfect for our daughter's wedding. The facility was beautiful and your attention to the details was outstanding. I expect to see some of the photos in The Knot. The flowers at both the UGA Chapel and THG were prettier than we could have imagined. I have looked at many photos of weddings at the chapel, and your flowers were by far the best that I have seen.

Dear On and Jessie,
We have talked about how beautiful the wedding was and how wonderful the reception was for weeks. Everything that day was so perfect. Chet and Hillary say that they would not change a thing, if they had to do it over. From the flowers the bridesmaid carried, to Hillary's bouquet, the fabulous reception decorations - we loved them all. Our guests were so happy, they enjoyed the atmosphere, The Bleu House food was delicious (thanks for the recommendation) and, oh, the table centerpieces were perfection. Jessie and her helper made the evening flow so smoothly - you guys thought of everything. Not an unhappy face in the bunch, including mine! I went in smiling and left smiling - it was wonderful My daughter means the world to me and making that day as special as it was would not have been possible with out your beautiful facility, decorations and staff. Thank you so so, so much. I would recommend The Thompson House to anyone wanting the very best and beautiful reception venue. There aren’t many occasions, especially the most significant and important ones, where one can say, “Everything was perfect!” That was our experience recently at the Thompson House and Gardens in Bogart, Georgia for our daughter’s wedding in late August.
Our experience started with the rehearsal dinner on Friday night and was followed the next day by a magnificent outdoor wedding ceremony and reception. The facility at the Thompson House and Gardens was “wedding perfect”. Our daughter, Jessica Rogers, even had a private dressing room with a parlor to share with her bridesmaids, all part of a great homey atmosphere that included the little touches which only added to the warmth and intimacy.
The banquet hall was ample in space and the acoustics were excellent, prompting some dance fever by the wedding party and guests. The grounds were particularly well groomed and all the flowers provided by On Guest made for an amazing and beautiful backdrop. We especially enjoyed the outdoor setting following the wedding, with an open bar and hors d’oeuvres, before we transitioned indoors for the reception dinner.
I knew that Jessica had made the perfect choice when it became obvious the ownership had some influence on cloud movement and rain, as it poured in Athens and we didn’t receive a single drop.
The only regret was that there has to be an end to the perfect experience. It couldn’t last forever, but the memories will. I highly recommend that anyone looking for the perfect venue utilize the facilities provided by the Thompson House and Gardens. It will put the odds in your favor for your own perfect occasion. A special “thank you” to Jessica’s day coordinator, Jessie Patton, who worked so hard to make sure that every detail was taken care of. It was truly a beautiful, well orchestrated event.

Oh On, Caroline and Joe's wedding exceeded all our expectations. Everything from the first note of the harpist to the last sparkler at the end of the evening was exquisite. The garden setting was a floral heaven, and the ballroom provided the opulent elegant atmosphere that Caroline had dreamed of. On, you brought Caroline's quirky masquerade them together with your creative vision. The tables and floral arrangements were fabulous. Jessie's perfect minute by minute direction of the schedule allowed us all to relax and have a wonderful time. Everything came together absolutely perfectly. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE commented on how fabulous the event was. Many said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever attended.

The Thompson House and Gardens is a beautiful venue near Athens, GA. My fiance (now husband) and I were looking for a venue that was beautiful inside and outside, could accommodate 250 guests and allowed outside catering. We found the THG and knew it was the perfect place for our wedding reception. We are so glad we made the decision to go with the THG. The owner, On Guest, is a wonderful person and she really worked with us to make our reception happen and make it a beautiful, personalized event that we have so many good memories of. On is also a florist and does all the flowers and decorations at the THG. All the flowers were so beautiful and we loved that she had many ideas and suggestions for us, but was also willing to listen to what we wanted and help us accomplish our vision for the decorations and flowers.

Jackie is one of the wedding coordinators at the THG and she did an amazing job coordinating our wedding day and reception. She was always calm even when things were hectic and made our special day run smoothly. She even got in the back of my parents' truck and loaded all our wedding gifts so my parents could continue to enjoy the reception. On and Jackie worked together to make our day turn out the way we wanted it to and we didn't have to worry about anything. They are both wonderful ladies who really care about the couples they work with. We felt that they went out of their way to make our day special and help us have the reception we were envisioning.

I would highly recommend the THG to anyone looking for a beautiful place to get married and/or have a reception where you will be in kind and capable hands and have confidence that everything will be taken care of so you can just enjoy your special day.

We didnt use the Thompson house and gardens for our wedding venue becasue we didnt know about it until after we booked out wedding venue. but i ahvve to write about how amazing wonderful On Guest is with flowers. She went above and boyond with my flowers for my wedding veremony and reception. The Thompson House and Gardens is the perfect place to get married. It is absolutely gorgeous, inside and out. On did an outstanding job decorating and making my dream wedding come true. She knew my wedding was a butterfly theme, and she bought butterflies to decorate the area where we say our vows. She also did the flowers for the wedding. I gave her sample pictures, and I put all of my trust in her b/c I've seen her flowers from pictures, and I knew she would do a wonderful job. She did not disappoint me. I fell in love with my bouquet, and all of the flowers were so elegant and beautiful. Every Saturday night that I drive by THG on my way to and from Athens, I always smile when the house is lit up for someone else's wedding. I would love to be able to get married all over again at THG.

I would like to thank you and your staff for the beautiful wedding on Oct. 2. Everything that April and I had envisioned came to life on that day. The weather even cooperated. It just set the tone for the easy elegance that we desired. I got so many compliments on the venue. My friend said that everywhere she turned, there was another lovely picture. The courtyard looked stunning. I loved the flower arrangements outside. They were an earthy, cool version of what was going on inside. The ballroom was just gorgeous. You really went over and above with all the decor.
The flow of the evening was just right. There was no awkward moment where people look at each other and say, "What do we do now?" Phil and I (Father and Mother of the bride) were able to work the room and enjoy our guests and dancing without worrying about those pesky details. Jessie told me, "Your job today is to be pretty and my job is everything else." Thanks for that! When the evening was over, the truck was already packed with the gifts, and we just left.
I really respect the way you run your business. You understand people who have budget concerns. You are willing to offer cost-saving suggestions with ease. You understand that it doesn't take tons of money to have good taste. It just takes a little more energy. And you guys have energy, to be sure!

All my company is gone, my house is almost back in order and now I've got all of these wonderful memories of a "Fairy Tale" wedding for Meredith and John. You totally out did yourself on this wedding! I have never seen so many Beautiful flowers in one place in all my life.

The Thompson House and Gardens is the most beautiful venue I have ever visited. The owner was extremely helpful in planning the lay out and flowers our wedding. On gave us a list of vendors that were reliable and she had seen brides use in the past. She recommended Jessi (who also works for the Thompson House) to direct our rehearsal and wedding day. She did an amazing job dealing with a rowdy group of groomsmen and she even had fun while doing it! My family and wedding party still rave about how Jessi kept the flow of our ceremony and reception going. Jessi helped us make split second decisions that would help our guests have more fun and be more comfortable. This venue was decorated beautifully for our wedding day! Everything was perfect thanks to the awesome staff at the Thompson House.

We had our wedding and reception at the Thompson House & Gardens on March 6, 2010. Having gone to over 25 weddings together in the past 5 years, we wanted something that perfectly suited us a couple and was unique. On Guest was very professional and easy for us to work with from start to finish. She followed through on all of her promises and the wedding and reception were beautiful! Jessie (rehearsal and wedding day coordinator) was also a joy to work with! Worth every penny and then some! She was extremely helpful to us prior to the wedding and on the wedding day. Our families forgot to bring a cd of our pictures for the televisions they have in the reception area. Sam, one of the Thompson House employees, walked around with a camera and photographed the ceremony for us. They made sure that the pictures he took were on the televisions for all to see during the reception! They made our day absolutely perfect! We have recevied numerous compliments on our wedding from both local and out of town friends and family. Most of them did not even know the Thompson House & Gardens existed and they were all very impressed! We could not have picked a better wedding/reception site. Thank you ALL for a wonderful wedding!

The Thompson House and Gardens, is by far, the jewel in the crown of all of the many venues I looked at in the Atlanta and North Georgia areas for my daughter?s wedding. It is truly a hidden treasure. Our October 11, 2009 outdoor afternoon wedding was absolutely first class and magical! The grounds are beautiful! The entire atmosphere is intimate, inviting and relaxed. Flowers were still in bloom everywhere! The cocktail hour in the courtyard was just wonderful with beautiful lights everywhere. The inside of the house is absolutely amazing! The sitting room and upstairs dressing areas are filled with detailed hand carved antiques. You can tell that the owner of the venue, On Guest, takes great pride in the house and grounds and devotes numerous hours to make sure every detail is taken care of. She also did our flowers and they were absolutely gorgeous! She is extremely talented in flowers and design. Her staff is very helpful, and we would not have been able to manage without them. As mother-of-the-bride, I was closely involved in my daughter's wedding planning and made several trips to Thompson House to meet with the owner/operator, On Guest, and other vendors. On always was accommodating and pleasant and it was obvious she was willing to do whatever she could to help make the bride and groom's vision a reality. Everything went as planned and in the groom's words, "this is more than we ever dreamed it could be." On has pictures of the event if you future brides and mothers wish to see firsthand just how beautiful everything can be. I rate this experience a "5" in all categories.

The Thompson House and Gardens was a beautiful back drop for our daughter's wedding. On Guest and her team provided excellent service and assistance. They helped us with several decisions and provided an excellent list of vendors that had been used by previous brides. The day of the wedding On was there to make sure everything was handled perfectly and smoothly. The size of the facility was just right for our wedding. On's attention to every detail made everything perfect. We highly recommend Thompson House and Gardens.

Gosh, I dont know where to begin....On and Christie are amazing!!! I would not have gotten married if it werent for their help! I was a little doubtful at first...things just werent going as easy as I had planned (budget and stuff) I talked the problems out with On and she helped me in everyway possible. She was so flexible with our budget and took care of us! She also did my flowers...and everything from the bouquets to the table arrangments were out of this world breath taking! She made my special day feel and look like something straight from a fairytale! I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH ON! If I could tell any bride out there something it would be....what do you have to lose....go look at the THG!!! you'll be sold at the first visit! :) The entire house is beautiful from the upstairs all the way day into the new addition! I loved the historic parts mixed with the new age feel! the bride's room is so close to the groom's room, its cool we could talk from room to room if we wanted but never lay eyes on each other!! it was awesome! the land scape was gorgeous, new and fresh! it was just amazing! Christie was an amazing help making my day run smoothly! with our big and not so "typical" family, she got things right on cue!! :) thank you christie!! love you both!

Choosing Thompson House and Gardens for our daughter's wedding was the best decision we made for this event. On Guest was not only professional and experienced but also friendly and understanding. With our daughter living out of state, we depended on On to plan all the details over email and phone. She took care of even the smallest details and certainly made my husband and I look good to all our guests. Our daughter and her new husband were so happy with Thompson House - you could see the joy in their faces when they first walked in to the house. If you want a truly memorable day for your daughter, you should consider the Thompson House and Gardens. You'll fall in love with the grounds before you even walk into the gorgeous house.

On is very responsible and professional as a venue manager and our florist. She made our day perfect! Our wedding was in the late morning. She was there very early to set up everything and make sure everything is in the right place. She also gave us many suggestions in the early stage of our wedding preparation. She and her team was very friendly and patient. I definitely would recommend Thompson house and gardens to my friends

I absolutely love the Thompson House and Gardens. It was a pleasure working with On and her amazing team. She went to incredible lengths to make my wedding day exactly how I imagined it!! On and her team made my day perfect!! They were there early in the morning getting everything ready. The Outdoor Ceremony and the Reception room looked flawless!! Also, she did the flowers for the wedding, and they were BEAUTIFUL! She spent so much time, and they were awesome! She also added some personal touches without me even asking her to do so. For example, my husband's passion in life is firefighting. She included a little firetruck on his boutineer. My guests were all blown away by the beauty of the grounds and the flower arrangements that she created. If you decide to have an Athens, GA area wedding you need to definately check out The Thompson House and Gardens and meet On Guest. She is an incredibly hard-working lady!!

On and her team made my day perfect!! Everyone was awesome! They were there early in the morning getting everything ready, and they were so organized, and they were able to move everything inside quickly when it started raining. They were so outstanding, and I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with. She got the room finished on time, and it is gorgeous! We are so excited, and we really love the Thompson House! I hope to go to another wedding there soon! Also, she did the flowers for the wedding, and they were BEAUTIFUL! She spent so much time, and they were awesome! I loved them so much, and I had so many comments on how wonderful they were!

My wedding was a fall wedding with roughly 150 guests with a country chic theme (though they have the capacity to accomidate many other styles and tastes). The table settings and decorations throughout the venue were spectacular. The Thompson House also did the flowers which were stunning. The Thompson House staff were phenominal. The house was everything I had dreamed and planned of with decorations. The gardens were fabulous. On the day of the wedding Sheila (coordinator) was above and beyond all expectations. She herded people where they needed to be, kept us to our schedules, and organized all of the vendors. My wedding day was perfect. I truely appreciate how awesome this venue was. Not only was everything gorous, but it was also affordable. Several other venues I looked at didn't provide half of ther services and were beyond my budget. I highly recommend the Thompson House.

Beyond Perfect!

My wedding yesterday was beyond my wildest dreams! I simply have the team a couple ideas and they were able to run with it to create a beautiful, elegant space that was better than what I could have done myself! I did not have to worry about anything and could just simply enjoy the day thanks to the team! Everyone was super helpful! If you are looking for a quaint but elegant space where the heavy lifting is fine for you… Thompson House is your place!

Great Venue

I recently had my wedding (4/9/22) at The Thompson House and Gardens and it was fantastic! Amber in particular was great! She’s super knowledgeable and very helpful. Day of the wedding she came by and jumped right in helping us set up decor that we had brought. We’ve received multiple compliments from guests about the venue.

The only negative thing we encountered was during the reception, my bridesmaids were told we had to move all of the wedding party’s stuff out of the bride and groom suites by 8pm. So we had leave the reception to bring our stuff downstairs and had to store it in a room that guests walked through. We were never informed of this policy and at the time was it very upsetting to not know in advance. Besides that, everything else was great!

LOVE them!

We absolutely LOVED getting married here. They had floral included in their package as well as tables, chairs and decor. They had such a wide range of options and styles for decor it was so easy to find one that fit us AND meant I wasn't on pinterest trying to figure out how to make a centerpiece pretty (I am not a creative decorating type). They know what they're doing and professional, everything flowed so smoothly. The space is great and gorgeous. We had so much fun working with them and they helped us create a beautiful wedding!

They are great! Just concerned about the change in management and they did miss an entire meeting while I waited outside the venue. But overall it is a good experience.

We loved the Thompson House! They were very affordable compared to many other places we looked at, and I loved that you could bring your own caterer, DJ, and alcohol. They removed a lot of the stress of wedding planning by taking care of all the flowers, decor, set up, and tear down- this was a huge plus. The staff were easy to work with and listened well to what we wanted. We had our ceremony on the front lawn and the gardens were beautiful. There was some road noise but it didn't interfere. We had the reception inside and loved the big open space where everyone can be together even if they're not dancing.
The gardens can be a bit limiting depending on what type of photos you want, but it's easy to get to a pretty open space down the road in either direction. The getting ready areas upstairs for bridesmaids and groomsmen is a bit tight, but we made it work with seven attendants each.
Overall we loved our experience with the Thompson House and would highly recommend them.

Choosing the Thompson House was probably the best decision that we made for our wedding. Most of vendors came recommended by theme. The flowers that were done by On were very pretty. The gardens absolutely beautiful and so is the house for the reception.

WARNING!!! Read the fine print before you book. I had to cancel my wedding 6 months in advance and they refused to give me any of my money back. SO basically they stole $4,000 from me and they did nothing to earn it but maybe hold that date for a couple months! We had made no plans or arrangements, and I know they were able to book another wedding for that day!! THIEFS!! DO NOT WORK WITH THESE MONEY HUNGRY PEOPLE!!!!!
