We had a lot of choices when it came to photographing our wedding. Traditional staged wedding photos are tired and old. Matt's work was fresh, capturing both the major and micro moments of a day that unfold like a blur. We opted to use Matt for our wedding rehearsal and our wedding day (along with a second photographer). What we got blew our minds. He was able to capture the essence of our day, the moments as they occurred, the mingling of our guests, the love that was expressed and received. His framing and composition for the big shots was incredible, intuitively knowing when to capture an entire scene or to hone in on the fine details of any given moment. His photos of our two days unfold like a photojournalism story taking us on an epic ride. It is only upon reflection of our wedding through the lens of an artist that we were truly able to appreciate all of the facets of our welcome dinner and wedding day.
In addition to his artistry, Matt was simply a pleasure to communicate with, to collaborate with, and to have at our wedding. He was immediately responsive to any "staged" photos we asked for, helped us to capture photos we didn't plan for, and knew how to blend in and shoot unnoticed when need be.
Matt (Thewmatt) has our highest recommendation and deepest praise. If you're looking for a photographer for any occasion, he is your guy! -

Matt photographed our daughters/son in laws wedding and I can't recommend him enough. His easy going friendly personality makes him so likable but his amazing eye for detail is what makes his photography so stunning. We were lucky enough to have him photograph the welcome party, the ceremony, the reception as well as capturing some breathtaking photos in Glacier the following day. Their special day will forever be relived while looking at the spectacular captures thanks to Matt! - -

Matt was excellent! He was flexible in meeting up with us as our wedding was done on short notice. He took phenomenal photos and knew the venue well, which made it a breeze to take some creative shots. His communication was superb, both via text and email and making sure we were coordinated on our wedding day. -

If you want someone who help you feel inspired yet relaxed on your big day, Matt is your man. He never ran short of locations, poses, or witty banter. From our engagement session to our wedding day, he never fell short of our expectations and in fact, far exceeded them. He made us feel comfortable the entire time. He is super quick to respond and answered every question which was a LOT with my 1000 emails "one more question so sorry". We never felt rushed and 10/10 recommend him. If you can't already tell, we love Matt and know you will, too! -

Couldn't have asked for a better photographer!
Truly so easy to work with Matt! I picked him because his portfolio had really lovely candid's and he delivered! He also got all our photos to us by the time we got back from our 2 week honeymoon which was amazing! I LOVE the photos and highly recommend! -

Matt did beautiful work capturing photos on our wedding day! He was professional, responsive and was great at taking into account what we wanted. Posed portraits and group photos weren't our priority, and we were drawn to Matt's experience capturing those candid fun moments. We love how many photos there are of all our guests as well as us and the wedding party - it's really special to share the fun memories with almost everyone who attended the wedding! Matt was also a trooper in the Montana fall weather on our. big day, and was so flexible and accommodating! -

Lovely Small Destination Glacier Park Wedding
Loving. Authentic. Magical. These are just a few words that come to mind when I think back to our wedding day. Matt captured all of the moments and was a major support leading up to the big day. I was able to spend the whole day focusing on my best friend without worrying about a thing. Matt seamlessly helps orchestrate the process and truly is a joy to be around. My husband and I decided on a small destination wedding just a few short months before taking the plunge to book everything. Matt responded quickly and answered any questions we had in a very timely manner. Matt also went above and beyond to make suggestions for any last minute items I was unsure of like local florists. I am so glad we worked with Matt on our wedding day! He took beautiful, authentic photos that captured all of the moments, big & small. Matt helped us organize a day-of timeline, created a fun & relaxed atmosphere, and coaxed out some wonderful portraits of us after the ceremony. He was super responsive leading up to and on the big day, and had a quick turnaround time with the finished gallery. I would 100% recommend him for any events in the Flathead Valley! -

Matt was fun and easy to work with and very responsive via email or text. He took great pictures with a focus on the atmosphere and the people there- lots of fun dancing photos and 1- on-1 shots of guests, as well as plenty of our own highlights. He got our pictures back us quickly too! -

We used Matt for both our engagement and wedding photos. Matt was incredibly responsive and professional as we organized our schedules for each of the days. He made us both feel very comfortable, and captured the magic of our wedding day! With a large wedding (~150 people) and sizable family, he was able to very efficiently capture our desired photos, allowing ample time to spend enjoying our wedding day. Highly recommend. -

We hired Matt to be our photographer for our recent wedding celebration at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake. The event turned out to be even better than we ever could have imagined. He did an excellent job capturing the evening and his turn-around time was impressive. Getting our photos back helped us to relive so many beautiful moments and there was so many gems found within our photos. Would absolutely hire Matt for a wedding or to capture any precious memories! -

A great person, and he takes wonderful photos too!
Matt was very personable and helped to make our wedding day go so smoothly! He was flexible with timing and photo plans before the ceremony, and he was very easy to work with through it all. He made it easy to pose for photos when we felt awkward, and seeing the photos now after the wedding, he did such an amazing job capturing us and all the special moments of the ceremony and reception. I usually feel awkward seeing photos of myself, but he captured our happiness and his photos made us and the day look truly magical. It was wonderful to see special moments that we had, but also to see the special, fun times all the guests had too. We will treasure our wedding day for the rest of our lives, and we have perfect photos to commemorate it all, thanks to Matt. -

Our experience with Thewmatt Photograpy was exceptional. I compared about 20 different businesses in the Flathead Valley and scored them based on qualities such as price, photo quality, style, flexibility, number of photographers, shooting time, and general customer service, and the winner was clear. Not only was Thewmatt Photography the best bang for our buck, but we were able to do an adventure shoot in Glacier National Park after the wedding in lieu of the engagement photos that were included in our package. We were left with the most beautiful and whimsical elopement-style fall photos. On top of that, When compared to all other photographers, Thewmatt was the only one that offered a second photographer for the entirety of our wedding at no extra cost. All of these awesome perks aside, Matt was an absolute joy to spend our wedding day and adventure shoot day with, and was able to get great candid photos of us and our guests. -

Whole-Heartedly Recommend!
I will start by saying I probably offended Matthew right off the bat by telling him that photos were not our main focus for our wedding. We wanted to have a great time and have the fun and beauty of the day captured, without spending too much of our time being pulled away for photos and let me tell you, he took this feedback and ran with it in the best way possible. Not only are the posed photos we have beautiful and timeless, but we ended up with so many amazing candids and photos of our families and friends that we will treasure forever, and we got to enjoy our cocktail hour with everyone! Not only that but we still ended the day with an insane number of beautifully edited photos that have allowed us to relive our day from start to finish!
Matthew was so easy to work with, very communicative in planning and day-of, and a ton of fun to be around. He made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera and worked with us and our guests to create a stunning album that fulfilled everyone's visions.
Could not recommend him more highly! -

Some photographers have packages that they won't stray from, and that wasn't Matt! He listened to and met our requests. He was always available to talk when we had questions and was very kind and generous throughout the event. He even stayed late when he found out that we were gonna jump in the lake after dancing for hours in the heat! I'm so glad that we have photos of everyone in the lake now! He also lets us print our photos however we want - we can go through him, but don't have to. I love this! And he sent us a few pictures right after the wedding and got the rest to us almost exactly a month later. -
