The venue was perfect for our wedding! Set up was zero stress with Megan as our coordinator, planning was simple, and everybody was friendly!

We absolutely loved having our wedding at the Woodlands and are so thankful for Elsa and her team, and their hard work to make our wedding a wonderful success! They were incredibly kind and flexible with our schedules during the planning process. They went above and beyond. We were blessed with an absolutely gorgeous day, which helped to highlight the beauty of the venue, such a fun and intimate forest-feel. I would highly recommend them to anyone for their wedding venue!

A beautiful location for amazing photos and an incredible venue that provides all of your needs so no worry about the tear down/ set up, great linen options and caterer friendly.

We had the perfect wedding there! It had everything we wanted, beautiful wooded space, our wedding out in the field was so beautiful, both simple, but also elegant. it was just perfect for us. The reception hall was gorgeous and it didn't take much decorations to make it look gorgeous.

We got married on October 16, 2021 at the woodlands. There was 2 feet of snow in the meadow and we had to move the ceremony to the bridge. The venue could not have been more accommodating and helpful in fulfilling what we wanted. We were able to do a walk through for our day of coordinator the Thursday before the wedding, as well as a rehearsal dinner that Thursday night. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue- they were excellent on communication!!

I was a 2020 bride (what a loaded statement). This means, COVID affected basically ALL of my wedding plans. I was originally supposed to get married in Jackson Hole, WY. But the venue cancelled months before the wedding.

Upon the venue cancelling, we found the Woodlands. And what a find it was!!! This venue honestly worked out better than my original plan. Elsa and her team are the BEST. They made the entire event perfect and easy, not to mention they are great communicators! This venue is BEAUTIFUL and has something for every type of guest. Indoor facility, outdoor facility, lawn, trees, concrete, dance floor, it has it ALL. Look no further if you are looking to plan a wedding in Bozeman, MT. This venue is BEAUTIFUL.

Elsa and her team at The Woodlands helped make our big day everything we could have wanted! The meadow and grand room are absolutely beautiful! The entire venue really embraces what it feels like to be in the Montana countryside. And having the adorable cabin to spend the night in was the cherry on top! I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for a peaceful and beautiful place for their wedding day.

Elsa and Taye are the best! They made the whole process so easy for us and fun to plan. We have a son who has special needs and they made sure we had anything we needed for him on our big day. It was an absolutely great day in a beautiful setting!

The Woodlands Venue sits in a canyon very dear to my heart already, and the fact it was just as beautiful was all the more amazing. The package deals they offer give you so much flexibility to really make your day unique and special, and they are very patient with working with you to make it just how you want. We also had a rainy start to our wedding day making the day really chilly, but they worked with us to dry things off before the ceremony and add heaters for our guests. As a nursing student, it was great to be able to have them do most of the decorating, because I did not have a lot of time with semester to do those things myself. The whole experience was very relaxed, and if I had questions they answered them promptly and fully. The venue makes the wedding have that cozy Montana feel with its beautiful setting, yet elegant if you wish with the decor pieces. I really appreciated the experience, and cannot thank the managers and owners enough for providing such amazing service to make our day that much more spectacular.

We weren’t able to give the full deposit down and we asked if we could do half the depot now and the other half in 60 days and they were totally okay with that.

I have attended a couple of weddings at The Woodlands and each were absolutely breathtakingly beautiful! I hope to get married myself there someday! The venue gives off an authentic Monana feel, with the towering trees and twinkly lights illuminating the night I truly felt like I had stepped into a Western fairy tale. Anyone would be the luckiest to tie the knot here!

We loved our experience at The Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon. Nestled back in the mountains among the aspen and pine, you wouldn't believe you were 15 minutes from town. We had guests from all over the country and they just couldn't stop saying how breath taking the site was. We couldn't agree more. The whole staff made planning our wedding in under a year easy! Simple and classy Montana mountain venue.

Stunning venue. The location is unbeatable and the service unbelievable. We were able to carry out a becautiful wedding on the more DIY (do it yourself) level and appreciate that so much was still included in the basic package. The add on items we did pick were a hit especially the fire bowls. Instantly adored Chuck who as an owner was our main go to person. He has a true gift of being calming, patient and real. At one point in the evening I looked around at everyone having fun in such a spectaular place and it felt surreal- like a scene from a fairytale. As the mother of the bride I am so very grateful for The Woodlands. If you are considering having your event there I highlt recommend it. One idea I wish we would have done was to give little flashlights to guests when they left since that would have been fun and they could have used them getting to the parking lot.

I highly recommend the Woodlands! Our daughter’s wedding 3 weeks ago was absolutely picture perfect in every way. The property is breathtaking, and the building is stunning in its rustic elegance, with a roomy foyer, and a large reception room with a fireplace that flows onto a patio with fire columns for chilly nights. There is a groom’s room, complete with tv and fridge, that also accesses a patio. Great place for the groomsmen to congregate and get dressed before the ceremony. And for the bride and her girls, there is a lovely loft upstairs with natural light, a full service kitchen, a lounge area, ample mirrors, a full bath, and a balcony overlooking the main patio. Ideal for pre-wedding photos and a refuge for the girls throughout a very long day and night.

We knew very quickly that this was where we wanted our wedding--indoor/outdoor possibilities (because Montana), space for both bride and groom to hang out and get ready (because we wanted it to feel like everyone could be there hanging with us before the ceremony), and far enough out of town that you feel remote, without being so far away that people don't want to make the drive, have to drag overnight, or leave early to get home. We chose the most inclusive package because though it cost more, it added an incredible about of value and actually prevented us from having to spend more on smaller hidden costs that you might not think of right away--like chairs for the ceremony (they have benches), centerpieces for the tables, linen consultation and rental, and a whole lot of other decor extras, plus a honeymoon cabin! We had a wonderful experience, and got so much positive feedback from our friends and family. We couldn't have asked for a better venue.

We loved having our wedding at the Woodlands! The guests adored the location and even with some rain on the big day the facilities worked fantastically well. Wish we could married here every year!

I love Elsa. As simple as that. I couldn't imagine pulling our wedding off without her organization, support and overall cheerful demeanor. For the stressed brides, Elsa will bring the calm to the storm.

We booked the Woodlands at Cottonwood Canyon without ever seeing the venue. Crazy, right? My husband and I live in Houston and decided on a destination wedding in Bozeman. With funds running low, we didn't have the extra money to make a trip up to Montana to look at venues. Based on the website and my conversation with Elsa, we knew the Woodlands was the perfect place for us to get married. And my, we were right! We finally saw the venue the week of the wedding and our breath was taken away by the beauty of the whole place. Our entire wedding party kept telling us they couldn't believe how beautiful the venue was!

Planning a wedding from 1500 miles away is hard, but with Elsa as our coordinator, everything came together perfectly. We literally had the perfect day we had always wanted. Throughout the entire process Elsa and Taye were always quick to respond and answered every question we had. I can't praise them enough.

Elsa and the entire woodlands crew were awesome! It is so beautiful there and I never worried once the day of my wedding as everything was out together so nicely. They had me completely at ease from day 1. I recommend them for any occasion!!

Perfect setting for a rustic montana wedding. Mountains, meadows and beautiful indoor spaces and amenities! Loved everything about it and am so thankful i had my wedding here! Elsa was a pleasure to work with and provided everything we needed (even a last minute request for a steamer :)) Highly recommend!

The Woodlands was the perfect venue for our summer wedding! The location has adequate outdoor space, as well as indoor space incase the weather is not ideal. The owner, Elsa, was extremely helpful during the entire planning process, and wonderful to work with. Even on the day of our wedding she was lending a helping hand. Our day could not have gone any better, everything turned out more beautiful than I had pictured in my mind. It is amazing how the Great Room can be transformed to whatever style you desire with your decorations. I highly recommend the Woodlands to anyone searching for the perfect outdoor location!

Elsa and her husband have built a perfect location to hold a wedding. Or any event I'm sure!
We saw The Woodlands first, then went on to about 3-4 more venues. We returned to The Woodlands and signed as soon as we could. It is secluded from everything except drop dead beautiful scenery. I know not many of my friends can say they said their vows with mountains in the background.
The venue has a perfect blend of indoor and outdoor space, and it accommodated everything we needed. There were dressing rooms for both the bride and groom sides (with a private entry to a bathroom for the brides' side), space for our escort card/photo table, a photo booth, gift table, dessert table, and DJ table, in addition to 12 dinner tables and our sweetheart table. We had dancing and the bar outside, and it was absolutely perfect weather. Who knows what you're going to get in Bozeman in September!?
Elsa was very helpful at providing floorplans and options for our setup with the amount of guests. And, as the number kept fluctuating (99% of our guests came from out of state) she was right there with a revised floorplan for us.
There is a huge parking lot, but because our guests were unfamiliar with the area (and would be drinking quite a bit) we provided transportation to and from the event. It was a perfect idea. Everyone had a great time and everyone had a ride home.
We stayed on the premises in a cabin after the night was over, and she even brought us food and dessert for us to eat later. She also allowed our friends to decorate the cabin so we would have a nice surprise when we got there.
The space requires almost no decorating (which was a concern of mine - we were coming from so far away that I couldn't bring anything with me even though I had grandiose visions at one point). We had flag banners for the banquet tables, flowers on the dinner tables, and 200 tea lights strategically placed. With the sconces, chandeliers, and fairy lights in the dining area you really don't need much else.
Another benefit was that Elsa also had worked with almost all of our vendors on prior weddings (and even her own!) so our "team" was a well-oiled machine.
I'd love to do it again every year!

Elsa has been wonderful to work with during this past year of planning and especially on the day of. It was also a great help that my other vendors (DJ, caterer, photographer, officiant, bartender etc) knew the layout of the Woodlands and knew you. They all said the same thing: “Elsa is so great to work with!”

The Woodlands itself was gorgeous. So many guest came up to me during the reception telling me what a beautiful location it was—worth the drive! (most of the guests had driven from Billings or further). I loved that the bridal party and then my dad and myself crossed the bridge on our way to the isles—the way I felt coming across that bridge is something I will never forget. The patio with the gas burners was also a huge hit and keep people up and mingling. A few initial pictures are up at Blu.Bird’s blog and they look so beautiful with the backdrop of the lush wooded hillside in some, and the mountains in others. This woodsy yet elegant feel was exactly what we were looking for for our wedding—and the Woodlands was perfect!

They were so helpful and accomodating - it made it a wonderful day for us.

SO BEAUTIFUL! Our wedding was absolutely perfect and the Woodlands made it complete. The Ceremony and Reception areas are both gorgeous! They offer the best flexibility with the ability to use any outside vendors, which is an option most local venus do not offer. Best. Venue. Ever.

Beautiful site, I had the wedding of my dreams! I didn't plan for the costs of renting linens and plates, silverware, glasses, etc. which got pricey but otherwise was perfect.

Elsa is great to work with and the venue absolutely perfect!!! We got a ton of compliments on the location.

The only advice I would give would be to have very clear expectations about how you are going to do your seating. We HAD to have a seating arrangement because of family issues, the day before we had some seating issues, but they were handled quickly.
If you are using the honeymoon cabin for that evening be sure to send someone down to stock it with some water and snacks.

The Woodland is a gorgeous venue and they really provide great flexibility to customize they services that you want. It was so great to have everything in one location for our wedding.

This venue is absolutely stunning. I can't believe how many of our guests have reached out after the wedding to tell us that the venue was the most beautiful wedding location they'd ever been to. Elsa is very friendly and really willing to let you come up as many times as you need to before your event to look at the venue. Sometimes she was kind of slow to respond, but that is understandable given she has weddings there 4+ days a week from April through October. We found this venue to be pricier than others in the Gallatin Valley, but the ambiance made it worth it for us.

Was it a stunning venue? Yes. The grounds were magical. We have beautiful pictures. The bridal suite was stunning and the wedding had great flow. I can see why they have been in business for 20 years. But even at $11,000, they weren't on site (thank god we had amazing caterers who helped solve a last minute problem), and despite leaving the place clean when we left, we were charged for using an extra garbage can (and that was even after we packed garbage out!). We were charmed on our initial walk through, but as we reflected on our wedding day, for the price we paid, all other vendors outperformed the Woodlands. If money is not a consideration, I definitely recommend The Woodlands! If you have any type of strict budget, I would not.
