We can't imagine our wedding celebrations anywhere other than Flanagan Farm! We fell in love with Flanagan immediately when we visited and we both knew it was the perfect venue to showcase the beauty and history of Maine while also having the freedom to design and curate our wedding weekend in a way that reflected us and our relationship.
Essie and Mike have put so much thought into the design, aesthetic, and layout of Flanagan Farm and were so available to assist with any questions, provide vendor recommendations, and check in to make sure we were feeling prepared over the two years we worked with them - they made us feel so comfortable and excited!
We loved that we were the only wedding for the weekend and that we had access to the property from Thursday - Sunday. It helped us ease into the wedding celebrations and not feel rushed. We also really enjoyed having our wedding party stay with us onsite at the farm house. We even hosted a small wedding party and family gathering on Thursday night to kickoff the wedding weekend, and we're so grateful Flanagan provides such a beautiful space for multiple gatherings throughout the weekend.
Truly, don't look any further than Flanagan - you will be in great hands with Essie and Mike and have such a beautiful wedding weekend that you'll remember forever. We couldn't be happier and Flanagan will always have a special place in our hearts. -

The Barn at Flanagan Farm was truly a dream venue. It is serene, beautiful, and feels natural but polished at the same time. Our guests couldn't stop raving about what a gorgeous setting it was, from the Ceremony Grove to the wonderfully-preserved barn. It was the perfect venue for our elegant but understated wedding. It was also so convenient to be able to stay on-site in the farmhouse - we felt like we were welcoming our guests to our home! Not to mention, the farmhouse itself is well-appointed, beautifully decorated, and comfortable. We loved staying there. Mike, Essie, Kate, and the whole Flanagan Farm team were so communicative and wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. If I could give them more than 5 stars, I would! Flanagan Farm is pure magic and you will NOT regret booking this venue.The Barn at Flanagan Farm's reply:

The Barn on Flanagan Farm is the most perfect wedding venue. When starting the venue search I knew I wanted a barn for a more rustic feel. I reached out to the previous owner, Gail Landry, she was so personal and easy to communicate. When she stepped down, Mike and Essie took over (they were actually married at Flanagan Farm) Essie kept in constant touch throughout planning a wedding during a pandemic, kept me informed on the ever changing guidelines in Maine, even helped figure out a plan B in case I couldn't get married this year. The farmhouse attached was gorgeous including the couples cottage, it housed our entire wedding party and our dog. The ceremony grove with the birch arbor was breath taking and the barn where we had our reception was just perfect. To top it all off the venue comes with the most amazing property manager, Jean, who looked after myself, husband, dog, and wedding party like we were her own kids. I cannot recommend this venue enough.The Barn at Flanagan Farm's reply:

Perfect Venue!
This venue was everything we were looking for! The ability to have the venue starting on Thursday is extremely helpful and makes the wedding weekend less stressful. -

User2492957 Sent on 01/04/2016We had a large wedding ceremony and reception at the barn (200 people), and it couldn't have been a more perfect location. The ceremony spot nestled in a grove of trees was intimate and felt magical especially with the late afternoon sun speckling through the branches. Plenty of room for cocktails outside of the tent, dinner under a tent, and dancing in the barn. Although I'm not sure our rain plan of doing the ceremony in the barn would have worked given the size of our group--if you had a smaller number of guests, it would have been fine. Lani and Gail were joys to work with and made the entire process so easy. Lani also gave a ton of recommendations for vendors she had worked with in the past and venue-specific suggestions (like the types of lights that worked well, how others had set up the band in the past, etc.)--and everything was the right decision. Highly recommended! -
User2494189 Sent on 01/05/2016We held our rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception in June at the Barn on Walnut Hill and we could not have been happier with the venue.
The entire venue has a rustic elegance and country charm. There is no need to leave this property as you can host your rehearsal dinner, do your first look photos, ceremony, cocktails and reception all in one place. The beautifully designed and furnished farmhouse provided lodging for the weekend for our immediate family (12 people) and quickly felt like home. We enjoyed waking up to make breakfast in the large farm kitchen, grilling on the back porch for lunch...playing pickle-ball in the back yard, etc. For the wedding day, the venue offers lots of great photo ops right on the property...which allowed us more time with our family and guests! The grounds were beautifully maintained and full of colorful blooms... perfect for an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour. The Barn comfortably held 12 large farm tables leaving an appropriately sized dance floor for a reception guest count of 100.
The owner was always very responsive and accommodating leading up to the event and the groundskeeper and housekeeper were available to us and helpful in addressing any questions or concerns we had while we were there.
I would highly recommend this venue! -

I would highly recommend The Barn at Walnut Hill to DIY couples that want a beautiful space to customize their own wedding. -

We could not have dreamed up a more perfect venue to celebrate our wedding...from the gorgeous woodland sanctuary (which one of our guests said was like “having your ceremony in Brigadoon”)…to the beautiful lawn for cocktails with tons of space for a dinner tent…to the gorgeous barn for dancing…followed up by our s’more-making after-party at the fire pit. Gail has thought of every detail and then some at Flanagan and it made the flow of the wedding seamless, and the whole weekend a dream. A special thanks also to Jean, the property manager, who went above and beyond to make sure we were all taken care of and that everything went off without a hitch. -

User5785821 Sent on 12/30/2014This venue is absolutely gorgeous, and provided the setting for my dream wedding. It has a beautiful outside sanctuary for your ceremony, a well manicured patio space for your cocktail hour, a giant barn for your reception, a farmhouse for your wedding party to stay at, and endless places for your photographs. There are so many thoughtful details all around this venue that are so sweet and make you never want to leave.
The two best things about this venue were having everything you needed in one place, and being able to stay there for several days (as each couple rents it Wednesday or Thursday through Sunday). I was so thankful to have all that time with my loved ones-- it wasn't just about the wedding but about all the fun we had leading up to the wedding. We didn't have to be rushed setting things up, we didn't have to worry about remembering everything on the day of the ceremony, it was relaxed and truly accommodating. Staying in that space for several days was such a treat that I will always cherish. For those who like to cook: the kitchen is paradise.
I definitely recommend this venue to anyone. My only negative feelings about the space are two things that will hopefully be worked out with time, as this is a very new venue. It was a little difficult to communicate with the venue employees, but having a wedding planner helped sort this out. The level of professionalism with some of the employees was not what I expected for such a nice place, but I hope that they will work on that with time.
Having your wedding here definitely requires either a wedding planner or a LOT of your time (as this is truly a "blank slate" venue that requires every detail to be picked out by you - no package A B or C here) ... or, for me, it was a lot of time and a great wedding planner. But planning here was a lot of fun because everything is beautiful, creative, and unique.
A dream venue for a dream wedding. -

Not only did the barn and gardens serve as a great backdrop for our wedding day, the property afforded us some valuable, quality family time in the days before and after the wedding as both of our immediate families were able to stay onsite. -
User2017819 Sent on 01/21/2015The Barn is wonderful. It was so nice having the venue for multiple days as our families convened several times over the course of the weekend. My one complaint though is that the day after our wedding 3 brides (two prospects and one who was getting married there the following weekend) came to the barn and asked to look inside. The two prospects had appointments but no one ever showed up to show them around, so I did that myself. It was really disruptive and not a great way to end a wonderful week/weekend. More communication around this, clearance by the bride and groom and ensuring that there is a representative there to take the appointment is necessary.
