Amazing and beautiful venue with an incredible venue coordinator

We had our wedding on November 2019 at this gorgeous venue.
We looked at three other venues before seeing Villa del Sol, and we made the decision to have our wedding right away. We were incredibly happy about how our wedding turned. With the set up and all, it was beautiful and far exceeded our expectations.
Venue - It's a historical place with a Spanish vibe and lots of character. It has market lights across the place making it very romantic at night. At sunset the venue is absolutely gorgeous. We have an 85 person wedding and it was the perfect size, not too cramped or bare. Our guests were very complimentary of the venue. At the day of the event, Shawna hires two security guards to prevent the public from coming in while the party is going.
Venue coordinator - Shawna is amazing. She is so accommodating and flexible. She helps you plan the design of the place, and helps with placing the order for tables/chairs. She's got great tips for helping you save on cost. My husband and I had a very positive experience with her.
Catering - Villa del Sol has their list of approved caterers and alcohol vendors. We went with Fullerton Brew Co. The food was delicious and we had plenty of alcohol to lasts us through the night. From our past experiences as wedding guests, the food was never memorable or good good food. I couldn't really eat the day of my wedding because of the craziness, but my husband and guests were very complimentary of the food.
We wanted a very intimate wedding, have our closest friends/family be active participants and witnesses to our marriage and love, and this venue with all its character was the perfect setting for it.

Most Beautiful Courtyard in OC

The Villa del Sol was the perfect place for us to have our wedding reception. The tradion and history of this building only made our celebration more classic and entertaining. Many of our guess said the Spanish look of the venue made them feel like they were somewhere else far from the OC. We strongly recommend The Villa del Sol for a wedding celebration.

Beautiful california venue

This venue is perfectly perfect for an outdoor memorable event hacienda style. We had our wedding reception here in late September and I must say Shawna’s assistance and coordinating skills made for a perfect wedding reception. Highly recommend this beautiful affordable venue.

Stunning Venue! Amazing to Work With!

BEST DECISION MADE (second to saying yes to my husband)! All our guests were stunned by this venue. Many had thought we spent tons of money, but actually we were on a budget! This place was affordable for the location and sheer beauty of this venue. Because it has so much greenery, you didn't need to spend a lot for decor/florals. Everything went perfectly smooth all thanks to Shana! The whole process was easy, and she was so responsive. We booked the venue 3 months before our wedding date because of last minute changes, and Shana made it so easy that we weren't stressed about it at all. Out of all the other venues I visited in the area, Shana was definitely the nicest, most helpful, and most genuine. Would HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!

Amazing Experience!

Absolutely! Shawna was incredible to work with from the beginning and everything could not have been more perfect. We danced five hours straight. We had so much fun and the venue was perfect. In total we had 80 guests, dinner was served buffet style, we rented the dance floor, the barn tables were perfect for our style and everything was just super easy! The greenery around the venue makes it easy to decorate for your big day and you do not need a lot of flowers. When the sun goes down it is even more beautiful. The lights hung across the venue create a beautiful soft lighting for your guests. I definitely recommend this venue.

Beautiful venue for Summer outdoor wedding

The Villa Del Sol met ALL of our needs. Shawna is wonderfully skilled at her job. She gives the best advice from experience so trust her. She responds accordingly to texts and emails.
She has a great rapport with her surrounding neighbors/vendors as well as having great resources. Take advantage of "Open House". That's how I found a local dessert vendor for GF cupcakes.

From the minute we stepped foot into the Villa's courtyard, we knew this was our wedding site. Shawna, the Events Coordinator for the property, has you visit during an event to allow you to actually visualize what your event could look like (unlike most places that you have to use your imagination). She is flexible, friendly, informative and a genuine blast to work with. Have a crazy idea? She'll help you see it through. Not sure how something works? She'll be there.

We were more than pleased with our wedding day and it's large in part to the entire team that came together to make our day the best day. Thank you Shawna, and to our entire team, for all you do!

We used Stadium Tavern (aka Fullerton Brew Co) for our caterer and they knocked it out of the park. The employees worked so hard and Tom Dow was very accommodating whenever we needed anything. The food was soooo good. We had such high expectations for them and they delivered to the max.

Shawna was so professional and helpful planning our wedding at this venue. She made everything move smooth and even came into town from a family trip a few hours away just to make sure everything went smooth the night of the wedding. We were so happy with the venue and Stadium Tavern.

The Villa Del Sol is an amazing venue. When we first saw it we knew it would be the perfect place for the most special day in our lives. Shawna was awesome and always available for us. The venue has so much character and very romantic. Our family and guest were so shocked as to how beautiful everything was. I cannot imagine any other place for our wedding. We got married here and I cannot put into words how beautiful, magical, and well organized it was. It was seriously a DREAM. We looked at several historic venues in Orange and LA counties, and for the price VDS topped them all. Shawna was easy going and fantastic to work with - she walked us through the table/chair/linen rentals with ease and kept us on track in the months leading up to the wedding. We chose Cafe Hidalgo as our caterer and hired Dena David (the Cafe Hidalgo catering manager) as our wedding coordinator and that was pretty much the BEST DECISION EVER. We had so many compliments about the food and the venue and 100 percent thanks to Dena and Shawna our wedding went off without a single hiccup. Everything looked AMAZING. No matter how many beautiful photos you look at, nothing - NOTHING - does the venue justice when it's dark, you're sitting at your sweetheart table, the al fresco lights are twinkling, your guests are laughing and the candles are flickering. The only way to describe it is like something out of a movie. Perfect.

Besides how beautiful it all is, I cannot rave enough about how this place operates like a well-oiled machine. The other venue we were seriously considering was pretty DIY - a "here's the key, be out by midnight" type of situation. At VDS everyone works together to throw events almost every weekend. You can rest assured the tables and chairs will arrive. Almost every vendor we used knew VDS/Cafe Hidalgo/Dena by name. I literally would book someone, and they'd already know exactly where and when to appear on our wedding day. We absolutely loved this venue.

Omg loved my wedding venue! Such a romantic place! I went for a spanish, rustic, villa theme and let me tell you, everyone told us how beautiful the place was. You can easily switch up the feel of it, from an elegant wedding to a casual tropical theme as well. Its a very unique place where you can have your ceremony and reception, which saved us time and money. Shawna is the contact person for the venue, she was really nice and worked really well with Dena at Cafe Hidalgo who was our wedding coordinator and caterer. It made my job easier as a Bride to work with companies and women that work professionally and so accommodating to making the whole process easy.

My wedding at the Villa del Sol was exactly what my husband and I wanted. Ruth was nothing but professional, helpful, upbeat, and was obviously willing to go the extra mile for her couples. Being from out of town, none of our guests had been to the Villa before, and they were blown away by it. It has that great California vibe while being beautiful and simple. I was completely satisfied with the service provided at the Villa as well as all of my vendors.

My husband and I recently held our ceremony and reception at Villa Del Sol on 8/3/2013. It was beautiful and everything we could have ever wanted. The location is great, downtown Fullerton is very cute and it has lots of great boutiques and restaurants nearby.

Working with Ruth Davies (Director of Special Events for Villa Del Sol) was a breeze. She was always available to answer any questions, and I definitely had a lot! She even put together the 6th and final (a result of my OCD) table arrangement at 9pm the night before the wedding!

We chose Cafe Hidalgo to cater the wedding. This is not your typical wedding food; it was nothing short of amazing. They even made a special vegan plate for myself and a handful of our guests. Usually when restaurants don't specialize in vegan food, you basically get rice and veggies or pasta and veggies. Not at Cafe Hidalgo, my guests and I received a vegan enchilada with a cashew cream sauce, Spanish rice and beans. It was beyond delicious.

We also hired Dena David of Cafe Hidalgo as our wedding coordinator. I don't even have words special enough to describe this lady. She is sweet, friendly, organized to a T, and creative. I had a lot of DIY ceremony and reception decor items that her and her staff were able to set up for me, they even packed them up within 10 minutes at the end of the night and put them in our car for us! I didn't even give her a picture of what I was looking for; I guess just talking with me about my vision was all she needed. She was able to capture the exact look I was going for (bohemian, country-chic). She even threw little touches in there that we hadn't originally talked about that really just topped the whole decor look off.

If you are thinking about hosting your wedding here, do not hesitate. The price is right, the staff and catering is top-notch, and where else can you have an outdoor wedding reception until 12am in Southern California? Stop looking; Villa Del Sol is it!

I recently had my wedding reception at the Villa Del Sol, and absolutely loved it! The Villa turns into an beautiful, romantic, secluded courtyard at night. We had so many complements from our guests on what great venue it was. Ruth Davies was really great to work with and was always quick to respond to emails and even encouraged texting for quicker responses. I would definitely recommend the Villa Del Sol to anyone planning a wedding or event!

One year later and I'm finally writing my vendor reviews. I have always loved the Villa del Sol and love it even more now that I had my wedding there. Having a wedding at the Villa is easy. You have to choose from their food vendors ... which are all wonderful restaurants. You have to use their table/chair people. I liked all that because it made it easy to make decisions and get things planned.

Working with Ruth was wonderful. Even when I was in super-crazy bride mode and emailing or texting her five times a day, she was still patient, kind, and quick with responses.

I had the best wedding ever and a LOT of that had to do with my amazing venue. :)

This venue was stunning! From day to night. Ruth Davies, managed special events for the Villa and she was unbelievable! She answered any question I had within minutes via text or e-mail. She was super helpful; on the day of the wedding before I was going to walk down the aisle, totally forgot my dress was bustled for pictures. She asked if I wanted it like that and I freaked out and said no...she quickly took the bustle down 2 minutes before I walked just in time. Whew! Thanks Ruth your the best. Rest assure, one thing you will be certain about if you book the Villa is Ruth will have your back! ;) Another perk for booking the villa...you have it from 5-12am...that's a good amount of time, compared to other venues.
Also, I highly recommended you choose Cafe Hidalgo as your caterer. The service was exceptional and the food, as our guest described was really good considering its wedding food. Keep in mind- it is buffet but also keep in mind its served buffet- making it better than traditional buffet because you choose what you want and there is someone there to place it on your plate.
Lastly, for all the brides out there, I know you are at the top of your spending dollars but hiring Dena David from Cafe Hidalgo as the day of the.event coordinator is a must. She relieved so much stress for me. The ceremony and whole event wouldn't have ran so smoothly as it did without her. She knows the dos and don't of the venue. The decor was absolutely more gorgeous than I anticipated. She even arranged the flowers on my.cake and it looked amazing! Anything my fiance need she made sure we had, she even cut.cheese to eat with crackers because my.fiance was starving. She is absolutely amazing- you.have to hire her. Well worth the money. Overall, this venue was so beautiful great place to dance and just a great ambiance and is surrounded by amazing people who love their job! :) Thanks Ruth and Dena! You two are the best!

We had our wedding at this gorgeous venue this past September. My wife was looking everywhere for the right price but with the beautiful surroundings. Once she saw The Villa Del Sol there was no other comparison! The price was perfect and the fact that you get all the wonderful greenery makes this Spanish style court yard the perfect outdoor experience. The young lady in charge of the Venus events is Ruth, she was absolutely perfect. She answered every question very quickly, not to mention giving my wife some calming help when she felt overwhelmed. She went above and beyond for us. We had a problem with our favors last minute and she was happy to help which saved us so much stress and worry. We don't know what we would have done without her. She actually cares about the bride and groom, and she loves her job! She manages the events in her venue to the T. This came in very handy when our florist had the wrong date for our wedding, Ruth and our other coordinator were right on top of it. They got flowers there within the hour, and Ruth herself was cutting and making flower arrangements just so my wife would not have to worry. The greenery in this case helped us more the you could imagine. Since the florist screwed up, we didn't have all that my wife wanted there, but all the greenery and flowers at the location more then made up for that. If you want simple, this venue is perfect, if you want extravagant, this Venu is perfect! Thank you again Ruth for every thing you did for me and my bride, we will never forget it. We love you, and GO LIONS!!!

The Villa del Sol is a beautiful place for an outdoor wedding. We had to provide minimal amount of decorations because of the lush vegetation surrounding the courtyard. After sunset, the courtyard became a very warm romantic atmosphere with the overhead Al Fresco lighting. The venue provides so many beautiful photographing opportunities which our photographer took advantage of. We would highly recommend The Villa del Sol for a wedding venue. It was the perfect place for our daughter's dream wedding.

My experience with the venue was simply put seamless. They have pricing for M-TH, F/Sun and Saturday. Special days like 9/11/12, or holiday weekends will be charged at the Saturday price which is the most expensive rate. I got married on a Friday. If you are doing this on a budget a Friday wedding is totally doable. As the bride you won't even know what day it is.
Dealing with Ruth was great. As I planned this wedding from my work desk having someone respond to my emails in a timely manner was super important to me. Ruth always gets back to you in a couple hours. Just a note, Ruth is not on site day to day, she is actually never on site unless you book an appointment with her. So if you want to "drop by" don't because she won't be there. And if she is, she gives the utmost attention and priority to the client she is working with. Which in my opinion is fair. She was there for the beginning of my event and helped my husband out while he got heat stroke and was throwing up in the bathroom for an hour. She'd check in on me while he was sick to make sure that we both were not freaking out. She was really great all around.
My event was catered by Cafe Hidalgo. First off, Dena is the best. Second, the food is delicious. Unlike Ruth, Dena is always there and ready to help you. I personally love a lady in charge and she is just that. She demands excellence from everyone, that means her staff, your vendors and your guests. She is very mindful of what she does to ensure that your event is nothing but amazing. As the day of coordinator, which is really a necessity, she makes everything progresses for everyone. The one thing that I loved most about her is that she makes it a priority that you eat! She did cut off one of the groomsmen, which was fine because no one wants to see the drunk stumbling guy making a scene at your wedding. Overall experience wonderful. Make sure you make arrangements to have someone take all your things home that night.

It was love at first sight with the Villa del Sol venue! As soon as we walked in, we could see the possibilities for an amazing celebration there. It is truly a blank canvas with the bonus of lush vegetation and beautiful spanish architecture. I love the option of verticle space and a venue like Villa del Sol offers dimension for your photos, and staircases, archways and little nooks to really personalize the space and wow your family and friends. Our wedding was a dream! Everything sparkled and glowed as the sun set and the candles were lit and the string lighting came on. I will never forget walking into the reception post set-up for the first time. Just beautiful!

This was by far one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. The cost of the venue is extremely reasonable in comparison to similar venues, and the venue is gorgeous! It is even more beautiful at night when the al fresco lighting is on, and the whole place just comes to life. (Pay for the lights - it's worth it!).

Ruth Davies is the Director of Sales & Operations, and she made the beautiful venue even better with her wonderful service.

Ruth was super responsive, and always helpful. She keeps in contact with you throughout the whole process, including being there for the day-of. She is extremely flexible and will help you accomplish your vision for the venue and give you suggestions for vendors and ideas from other weddings.

You get complimentary valet parking included in your venue fee, as well as security on-site for the duration of your event.

The only negative would be the archway where you hold the ceremony has a British Grocery store behind it. Very ugly. BUT!! If you have a wonderful florist, they can totally transform it for you and cover it up. Ours was gorgeous!

Overall, definitely 5/5...we are sooo pleased with our venue!!

We began our venue search with three things in mind... Does the venue have Ambiance (great for pictures, comfortable atmosphere, and a since of uniqueness), is it reasonably priced, and are the catering/bar options suitable to our needs. Obviously there is more to it than that, but these were the main ticket items for our wedding venue. The Villa Del Sol fully delivered!

We worked with Ruth, who was extremely helpful in all aspects of planning/coordinating the wedding necessities such as parking, catering, and rentals. Ruth truly made a ton of stress disappear, and I can't say enough about how great she was.

We chose to use Stadium Tavern as our catering/bar service. Not only did they provide some of the best food I have ever eaten (really... we got tons of compliments), but Tom was incredibly helpful when preparing the venue. He personally helped arrange center pieces! Stadium went above and beyond, and I give them a perfect 10.

Finally, if you want a venue that is truly packed with historic beauty, The Villa Del Sol transforms as the sun sets into an amazing setting for pictures and a memory you and your guests won't ever forget. After the wedding we received so many compliments from our friends and family saying it was the best wedding they had ever been to. 10 of 10 to Ruth and The Villa Del Sol!!!!

I had clearly been to the Villa several times but the day of my wedding the Villa looked absolutely beautiful!! It doesn't even need that much decoration - the place is stunning! The lights gave the party a cool vibe. Ruth, whom I was in contact with, was wonderful to work with. She was always available to assist me and was very prompt at responding to my emails. The day of the wedding, even though I wasn't expecting her there, she was so attentive to me and my entire bridal party. I absolutely recommend the Villa!! 5 stars!!

We just had our wedding at the Villa Del Sol......and it was awesome!! I can't think of any better place to have a wedding. The courtyard looked amazing with the al fresco lighting, and our guests are still talking about how beautiful it looked. If the beautiful venue wasn't enough, working with the staff at the Villa Del Sol, made the experience even better. The venue coordinator Ruth Davies, was such a pleasure to work with. She was extremely on top of things....quick to answer questions, offered lots of useful advice, and never made us feel like we were bothering her with the all the minor details. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience working with the Villa Del Sol, and highly recommend it :)

Ruth Davies at the Villa Del Sol was absolutely wonderful. She was so helpful and always got back to me right away. When I had problems with the hotel I was using for the wedding, Ruth took care of the problem within an hour. Our experience with the Villa Del Sol was fantastic!

After I stepped into the courtyard of this venue I was sold! The architecture and the landscape is absolutely beautiful. I knew it had to be my venue when I started decorating and placing everything in my head. After talking to Ruth, the coordinator at the venue, I was so excited to have my wedding here. She is so helpful and is always available via email or even text! The restaurants surrounding the venue are pretty affordable and offer really great menu variety. I would definitely recommend this venue, you won't regret it!

We were married in June of 2011 and I must say Ruth Davis and The Villa Del Sol are truly amazing. The Villa is a Spanish style setting with an intimate courtyard surrounded by lush greenery and a tranquil fountain. The landscape surrounding the courtyard is so beautiful we had no need for additional flowers. In the evening we had accent lighting to add to the existing ambiance and it was stunning. It is very stressful planning a wedding, but Ruth put us at ease. She is both extremely professional and personable and loves what she does. She made the whole process seem effortless by coordinating with all the vendors and streamlining the day of events. Our guests are raving about how beautiful the venue was and how much fun they had. I would highly recommend Ruth Davis and The Villa Del Sol to anyone wanting a stylish, intimate and a truly memorable day in an amazing setting. I will definitely use them again for any major function we have in the future.

It was an amazingly short journey working with Ruth. The first day we met her she was real with us and we got a comfortable vibe off of her. She kept me in constant communication and I appreciated that. She was there with me till the moment I was to walk down the aisle making sure things were going off without a hitch. My now wife :) found the Villa Del Sol venue in Fullerton and absolutely fell in love with the Spanish style courtyard and lush landscaping. The site event coordinator Ruth Davies was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was available for questions and support throughout the entire process. She was very professional, supportive and flexible while we worked to create the perfect environment for the wedding. Ruth was at the venue the day of the event and went above and beyond our expectations to ensure that we were well taken care of. The Stadium Tavern located in the courtyard provided the Bar service and Tom the manager was also very flexible and willing to help, he even chilled/stored the champagne we bought to serve to our guests. All and all Ruth and Tom made our experience at the Villa Del Sol a excellent one.

When I walked into Villa del sol, i fell in love with the natural beauty of it. You don't have to do much to it as the place is gorgeous as is. It is a smaller venue, which was fine with me and my fiance (now husband) because we were planning on a small wedding and it worked out perfectly. The venue provides numerous wonderful wedding photo opportunities near the fountain, Hotel California sign, on the terrace etc. The venue director, Shawna stepped in half way through the process, as the original director quit, and didn't miss a beat! She was so down to earth and a pleasure to work with.

This place is absolutely amazing. The courtyard is so lush and the architecture is quite charming. There is no denying the place has character that lends itself to any event. Also, the place seems to transform completely once the sun goes down. I held my ceremony and reception there, and after the cocktail hour on the balcony, all of my guests said they could not believe they came down to the same place. Ruth Davies, who handles all business for The VIlla Del Sol is efficient, professional, straight forward and still warm. She is available whenever you need her and responds back to any correspondence quickly. I absolutely fell in love with this place and would highly recommend it to anyone.

Don't let the wedding event sheet scare you! This place is so flexible in wonderful budget friendly ways! Shawna was very reasonable and direct with us. The Mr. And I already loved the venue as it has a special place in our hearts as its in the heart of the city we fell in love.
The Villa Del Sol is not only perfect for our romantic dream wedding it has options that suit our needs and cater to making us feel at ease. I can not wait to see how this adventure unfolds but I have a great feeling about this place

This place is great for a medium sized wedding! We were planning on having a 150 wedding there, but turned out to be 120 and it was the perfect amt!!! IT looked amazing at night w. the twinkling lights, the band, the food our flowers! Everything was on point! The coordinator is really responsive, knows a lot and allowed to us to have a band as long as it ended by 10pm! Overall great experience, the bridal showcase is worth a visit! I loved this place because its has its own flair, its also outside w.out being too outside, like having to deal w. flies and stuff! ITS PERFECT! I thought it would be awkward that there are restaurants and business around the courtyard but no one really cares! Its great!

Beautiful venue, my only reason for not giving it a 5.0 is because my guests were supposed to have complimentary parking and I was appalled to find that they were charging for parking. This was especially disappointing because I wrote on my wedding website that the parking was free...

The second my husband and I saw the Villa, we immediately fell in love with it. We wanted to have a wedding reception venue that was different from your standard golf course country club reception, and this was exactly what we were looking for. It was perfect for a summer wedding, and it looked absolutely beautiful at night when the al fresco lights turned on. We had 200 guests at our wedding, and they were comfortable and never felt too crowded because there is so much space on the terrace. All of our guest tables were downstairs, and reserved the upstairs for cocktail tables and the photo booth.

I highly recommend this venue! We absolutely loved it!

Villa Del Sol was the perfect venue for my reception. Its beautiful courtyard and historic surroundings gave my wedding reception that extra touch of elegance and uniqueness one wishes for their wedding day. All my guests were delighted by the ambiance the venue created both during the day and night. The Villa Del Sol was the beautiful venue for our wedding. The space is beautiful, & based on the services provided (courtyard area & tables/linens/chairs) couples have the freedom & ability to select other outside vendors (flowers, cake, choice of several restaurants on site for catering). This is the place for couples looking outside of all-inclusive type venues. We had 120 guests & the space worked great. Would not recommend for larger guest lists (more than 150). The weather was warm, but the courtyard space was completely shaded for the reception. Would have added umbrellas to second balcony for cocktail hour since sun was still out at 5pm.

I loved Villa Del Sol. It is such a beautiful venue and looks so amazing in pictures. I love how you get the upstairs as well. I turned part of it to a smoking area and it worked out great. My only problem with them was the "free valet". When I got there they already had shut down the parking and my bridesmaid had to pretty much yell at them until they would let the brides car be valeted which I think is ridiculous. Then I see that right in front of us a guy had thrown a valet some money and his keys to the valet and went to another place when it is supposed to be parking just for the wedding. Then when my guests were leaving I heard from a few that the valet guys were asking for a fee even though I was told it was free. I know that isn't the venue because they had no idea and they have apologized but they need to hire different, more loyal valet so they don't have this problem again. Besides this, everything was amazing I loved everything about it and it is worth every penny.

Held my daughter's reception at the Villa. She fell in love with it the moment we walked into the patio and we cancelled several other venue appointments. The outdoor patio is beautiful with fantastic photo opportunities. The enclosed patio makes the event feel private but open and fun.

Ruth Davies helped us walk through the details in ordering the rental items. We did have a temporary issue with valet parking, but Ruth was on the spot to deal with it and handled it professionally.

We chose Cafe Hidalgo as our caterer and since they are located at the Villa, they worked together very well in coordinating our event.

Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the Villa was and how perfect it worked for our reception. Check out their website or Cafe Hidalgo's Facebook page to see pictures - better than a description!

We had our wedding here last week and loved it! Our guests loved it as well!
We used Cafe Hidalgo and everyone loved the food and loved Dena! Dena is very busy, but she always responded to our emails and was very helpful when we met with her. We used her as the day of coordinator and we were very pleased! She ran the rehearsal dinner and was patient with the bridal party, which was great! The day of, she helped the flower girl get pointed in the right direction and later came up to me and fixed a ringlet that had fallen from my up-do! She also made sure that any mishaps (like the cake arriving lopsided) were kept from us so we didn't stress out. She has done alot of weddings here and had great suggestions for who to use as the DJ and other vendors.
My only complaint would be that we were told there was wheelchair access for my mother-in-law to get upstairs for cocktail hour and later found out that they had to carry her wheelchair over several stairs. Had we known about the stairs, we would have most likely gone with another venue or had cocktail hour downstairs.
Dena suggested I have my hair done at Unity Salon (which is onsite) and it turned out fabulous! The girl there (I can't remember her name) also did a few of my bridesmaids hair and they were really happy. I was happy with the price too- only $55.
We used Stadium Tavern for our rehearsal dinner and Tom was great! He responded to all of my emails right away. They threw in some free appetizers and beer since we had the wedding at Villa.
Ruth was always very prompt about returning emails and offering suggestions.
Overall, we loved the venue and thought the service was outstanding!

When first booking The Villa Del Sol, I fell in love with the place. The location is central and it provides amazing photo opportunities, which was a huge draw for me. The venue is visually stunning and does not require a ton of of decorations because of the natural beauty. However it is on the smaller side, our 95 guest wedding seemed to fit the venue perfectly. Although I am sure that they can make a lot work with the hallways too.
Aside from a few inconvenience, which I wont go into because I truly think they were isolated incidents, I am happy that our wedding was held here. Shawna the event coordinator was a great asset and really came through for us in the end.
Overall the cost is on the higher end, but it is one of the few Fullerton venues I found, so the cost was workable for me. If you are considering having a wedding here, I highly recommend going to one of their bridal shows, as they gave a great overview.

The Villa Del Sol is an oasis in the middle of Fullerton and provides an amazing background for small to medium wedding.

The Villa Del Sol courtyard was the perfect venue for our wedding! The old historic charm of the building, the alfresco lights, and overall romantic ambiance made you feel like you are in some far off place in the world.
The Villa Del Sol is simply gorgeous and surprisingly affordable for everything you receive with your booking (venue reservation for 7 hours, security guards, valet parking). The Villa contact Ruth, is very sweet, friendly, and helpful. It was a pleasure working with her and we couldn't be happier with our venue.
My only complaints would be the process for arranging the layout of the tables and chairs was not exactly my choice but I was happy with how it was arranged. I would have appreciated a bit more clarity on that before hand. Also related, I requested all banquet tables for guests be 30" wide, however the tables under the sides were obviously the 40" wide. Something only the Bride who ordered them would notice but it was noticed none-the-less and was a bit of a bummer to me.
All in all I think my rating is very fair.

The Villa del Sol was a beautiful backdrop for our wedding. We were looking for something outdoors, rustic, and intimate and the Villa del Sol was perfect. We got it for a great value, but they have since raised their fees, but is still pretty affordable when compared to other wedding venues.

Ruth and Shawna helped make my daughters wedding something we will smile about forever. Although there were moments of miscommunication, they worked with us in everyway to fullfill our wishes and keep things running smoothly.
Ruth went the extra mile to allow us to store wedding items in her office, deliver things early and accomidate special requests. They made what could have been a very stressful day run smoothly.
(Shawna and her assistant were life savers.) As the mother of the bride, they took care of the tasks that would have kept me from enjoying the evening and allowed me to be stress free knowing they were handled.
Stadium Tavern catered. The food was delicious and out guests loved every bite of it. Tom worked with us to make a menu that was full and delicious and within our budget. He provided plenty and even packed up the leftovers for the Newlyweds. (Which at 2:00 in the the morning was very appreciated!)
The whole evening was beautiful. Our guests were comfortable and had a great time. My daughter and her new husband are so happy and the whole wedding turned out better than we ever could have imagined.

We were tied in to using their rental person for tables, linen, and food. The cost of the rentals were so much higher than we could have gotten outside of the company. The food was also mandated to be be a caterer at the Villa Del Sol, and the choices were good, the food at Brownstone was great and Kim (the owner/coordinator) was great. It was difficult to speak with the staff at the Villa unless you know how to text. Overall, the ceremony was beautiful, went well, just added up when we calculated each item separately.

Do not book here!

Unfortunately, my wedding experience here this year in May was HORRIBLE. Not only are they super unprofessional, but the wedding suite was dirty, & dinner was served super late (also other mistakes happened)! Dinner was supposed to be at 7, and the couple didn’t get the food until 8:30, and some guests barely got food around 9 pm. Fullerton Brew Co did not take accountability & now further legal actions had to take place due to them not wanted to refund anything for their mistakes!
