exquisite experience!!

First of all, I could not say enough good things about The View at Crag’s lodge!! Aki went above and beyond for us while we had our dinner there! There was more than enough food, it was such great quality food and there was always someone coming by the tables to pick up/ refill any drinks, etc. It definitely exceeded our expectations! I would 100% recommend to anyone!

Fantastic wedding reception experience!

Our wedding at The View Restaurant at the Historic Crags Lodge was truly enchanting, exceeding all our expectations. The panoramic vistas created a magical backdrop, setting the perfect scene for our special day. The attentive staff ensured every detail was taken care of, from the initial planning stages to the final moments of the event. Despite a minor hiccup with the seating arrangement, they swiftly resolved the issue with professionalism and grace.

The food at The View Restaurant was a culinary delight, impressing not only us but our guests as well. The chef's expertise shone through in every dish, leaving a lasting impression on everyone's taste buds. Additionally, the seamless coordination and support provided by the event coordinator made the entire process stress-free and enjoyable.

While there were no major negative aspects, the only neutral point to mention is that the initial communication could have been slightly more prompt. However, once we were in touch, the responsiveness and helpfulness of the team were exceptional. Overall, we highly recommend The View Restaurant at the Historic Crags Lodge for couples looking for a picturesque and memorable wedding venue.

The perfect rehearsal dinner

Excellent communication and willingness to accommodate special circumstances. Friendly and helpful all the way through. Food and service were outstanding. Would definitely go to the View again. Aki is the absolute best.

Absolutely perfect!

I have always dreamt of having my wedding in the mountains and The View at Historic Crags Lodge was the perfect location! All of the staff, especially Aki were so helpful and accommodating! The view of the mountains is fantastic and the bar/outdoor space is perfect for a cocktail hour. We had around 75 guests come to our wedding and that was a great amount for the space, although more could have fit. After the cocktail hour we had dinner and dancing in the dining room. The dinning room was clean and had a beautiful view overlooking Estes Park. The food was fantastic and so were the alcoholic beverages. Overall, all of our guests had a great time as did my now husband and I! I would definitely recommend! Such a great location and very affordable!

The most beautiful venue, with amazing staff, food and drinks.

We had the most enchanting wedding experience at The View. My husband and I live in Texas and did not get a chance to visit before our big day but Aki, the owner, was so easy to work with and made wedding planning way less stressful. He did a FaceTime tour with us before booking and was always available via phone or email for any questions we had throughout the planning process. Aki and his staff made our day perfect and truly exceeded our expectations. The service was impeccable, with every request met promptly and with a genuine smile. The restaurant itself is stunning, inside and outside, and the food was DELICIOUS. My husband and I are already planning to come back to enjoy a nice dinner at The View. If you're looking for a wedding venue that combines elegance, outstanding service, and a personal touch, The View is the place to choose. We're forever grateful for the memories they helped us create on our special day.

Outstanding. Incredible. Do not hesitate to book this venue.

The Crags Lodge and The View were an absolute dream for our wedding day. Not only were my guests awed by the stunning backdrop of the mountains, the comfortable and ease of access for the rooms, the spectacular space of the bar and restaurant for the reception- Aki the GM of the View went above and beyond for us. He is the main reason the day went off without a hitch- he is the most gracious host that just blew us away with his hospitality and communication every step of the way. We arrived the day before the wedding and he took us through the entire process of the reception, provided a wine tasting for us, gave us the ENTIRE restaurant for use even though we only agreed on a half rental, and made sure everything was to our liking. Not to mention the fantastic meal they provided us for the reception. We were just speechless. Outstanding people, outstanding venue, we will be back for every anniversary we can and will sing their praises for the rest of our lives.

Wonderful staff and venue!!

We had our wedding here a couple weeks ago and absolutely loved our experience! Aaron, the wedding day-of coordinator through Rocky Mountain Wedding Co, was fantastic to work with from the beginning of our planning up to our big day. He was so accomodating and available to answer any questions that we had. Because of him, our wedding went exactly the way we imagined and we loved every moment! The bar manager, Wayne, was so on top of things and there was never a long wait at the bar. He also went above and beyond to ensure that guests made it home safely from our wedding. The restaurant manager, Aki, made sure that the food was exquisite All of our guests were commenting on how fantastic the Orange Agave Salmon was and the warm peach cobbler was to die for! Our guests were saying that it wasn't "the typical wedding food" they expected and we were so happy that they loved it. We highly recommend visiting The View restaurant for a nice dinner out and if you are planning a wedding, look nowhere else than this amazing venue!

What a view! This was perfect place to have our wedding!

Amazing venue! AMAZING view! Amazing food! We were so thrilled to have found The View. We wouldn't change a thing from our wedding day, it was perfect!

I was a little nervous when I saw the two previous reviews here, posted after we booked the venue, but I think they were totally unfair... or at least wildly different from our experience. This venue is GORGEOUS. Jessica was so much help--our coordinator raved about her too! And above all, the food was FANTASTIC. We had such a great time and our guests were enraptured by the ceremony venue, which has a stunning view of the Rocky Mountains. Get married here!!!

I rarely give five stars on my reviews, because there is always room for improvement.
That was not the case with Crag's Lodge. Everything was perfect from start to finish. We were able to customize our dinner so it suited our guests' needs. The presentation was flawless and the dishes just melted in your mouth.
The views were absolutely breathtaking. It's been a little over a month since our wedding, and our friends are still buzzing about how amazing everything was! They really took such great care of us that I was able to just relax while knowing that everything was taken care of.

The venue was absolutely gorgeous.
The views from the dining area is priceless. It overlooks the entire Estes Park.
Our guests couldn't stop raving about how good the food was.

I had my ceremony and reception at the Crags Lodge a few weeks ago, and I must say that my wedding was absolutely perfect! The weather was beautiful and it complimented the rustic scenery and the mountains so well. I loved that my fiance and I were able to customize the Crags Lodge so that it was tailored specifically to our wedding. Since the lodge only hosts one wedding a day, it felt like we had the lodge to ourselves which made it very special. Keelee and her staff do an excellent job in accomodating everyone and being all around helpful! The food was fantastic, the venue was excellent, and everyone at my wedding complimented me on the venue and how much fun they had. Keelee is the best wedding coordinator you can work with in Estes. She responds quickly to emails or phone calls and is so patient with brides as they work out all of the details of their special day. In addition, the value of the Crags Lodge is the best in Estes Park in my opinion. Everything that you get with your package is incredible for the money you spend. I would highly reccomend any couple looking to get married in Estes to have their wedding at the Crags. I would also reccomend that you book rooms at the lodge for your bridal party and guests to stay. It makes things so easy and all the more fun that everyone is staying together! Thank you Keelee and everyone at the Crags Lodge for making our wedding day so special. We will remember it forever!

Having the ceremony outside of Crags Lodge was absolutely beautiful. Perfect scenery in the background. The reception inside The View restaurant was equally beautiful. Perfect rustic setting for a mountain wedding. Keelee, the coordinator, is wonderful to work with and takes care of all the details. Would definitely recommend!

I am so glad that I found this venue for our wedding. It is a beautiful location up in Estes and is reasonably priced. Keelee was extremely helpful and always responded quickly when I had questions. She was also very accommodating for any special requests that we had. She was very flexible and it was comforting to have an option to have the ceremony either inside or outside. Luckily we were able to have the ceremony outside, and everything went smoothly. The food was great and I loved the atmosphere. We had a great time at our wedding and would definitely recommend this location to others!

If you are looking for a place to stay, get married, have a reception or all the above we highly recommend The Historic Crags Lodge as they are a professional and highly recommended place in Estes Park that will make you feel like you are home away from home. The Hotel staff is amazing and will help in any way they can. Not only did we stay here but had our ceremony and reception at the Crags.
We cannot say enough about the Crags but what truly makes this place special for a wedding is Keelee as she will make you feel like family from the moment you meet her. I am happy to say that we were the first couple to be married at The Historic Crags Lodge after the flood happened and were so glad we were able to as the day was perfect and the views were breath taking. The reception we had inside the Crags at The View Restaurant. The views inside the restaurant are just as beautiful as the outside as it overlooks Estes Park with the food being delicious and served in antique chafing dishes. Thank you to the Historic Crags Lodge, View Restaurant and Keelee for making it the most memorable day of our lives.

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception here. Keelee, the event coordinator, was wonderful. The venue itself is stunning—even if you end up having your outdoor ceremony rained out, as we did.

We very quickly realized that Crags Lodge was the right place for our ceremony—the prices were reasonable, we loved Keelee, the date we needed was available, it had the relaxed vintage vibe we wanted. We were, however, a little worried about the food. The menu sounded good enough, but also a little boring. We also had several vegan and/or gluten-free guests attending. And we are kind of food snobs. Who are kind of cheap. So you know, not easy. But we needn't have worried. We did end up with a fairly standard wedding buffet—salad, veggies, steak, chicken, potatoes—but everything was prepared perfectly and all of our fussy guests' restrictions were accommodated. Indeed, I heard raves from our vegan guests about the portobello mushroom entree made specially for them (without additional cost to us!). Oh, and the appetizers were also standouts, and the bar was phenomenal. Great beers on tap!

We didn't hire a wedding coordinator, nor were most of our vendors on their preferred lists; nevertheless, the day went off without a hitch. Keelee let my friends into the venue that morning to decorate; wedding vendors arrived, did their thing, and left without requiring anything from me; take-down took basically no time. It was truly seamless, which was especially impressive considering we decided to move the ceremony inside at the last minute. The only thing I would have liked to be different is if we were able to stay in the venue for longer—they want you out at 10PM, which is reasonable as it's also a hotel—but we were having such a wonderful time!

I will say that the restaurant is run separately from the hotel, and dealing with the hotel's management for room blocks, etc., is a pretty huge pain in the ass, though the rooms themselves are great.

This is the perfect venue for a rustic mountain wedding! All our guests were from out-of-state, and everyone was impressed with the whole mountain experience of beautiful Estes Park, the view from the restaurant, and rustic-style log cabin etc.

The setup of the restaurant was perfect. There's a separate bar room to host appetizers. The outdoor patio, balconies, and rustic lobby provided plenty of space for guest to "hang out". Our guests really enjoyed the view as I noticed many of them spent lots of time on the balconies.

I agree with other reviews that Keelee is the best thing about this place. She is so caring and prompt! She regularly emailed me before the wedding to check if she could help with anything. I never once had to worry! When we forgot to bring colored pens for the guestbook, Keelee promptly founded us a bunch to use. She was very flexible with special requests.

The FOOD was AMAZING! As a bride, I thought I'd be too distracted to eat much during dinner (I'm a slow eater). Turned out I was starving and devoured my whole plate! It was DELICIOUS!! The salmon with orange sauce was moist and the roast prime rib was tender and juicy! My guests were impressed that they didn't have to choose between salmon and steak and had both.

The Crags Lodge front lawn/ ceremony area just got upgraded to a even more spectacular mountain view, since demolishing an older part of the building in Spring of 2013. We had some great photo opts with the wedding party there.

Lastly, the price is very reasonable and affordable compared to other Estes Park venues such as the Stanley and Bella Terra. I highly recommended The View restaurant for a memorable wedding experience!

I cannot say enough about the Crags. It is one of the most affordable places in Estes Park, and definitely one of the most beautiful. The Crags has a great space for a reception - there is a lobby with couches, a bar, a large reception space, outdoor decks and a lawn - there is a place for everyone and plenty of space to spread out. We ended up having our ceremony inside and it, too, was beautiful, with the full window wall behind us looking out at the mountains.

Throughout the whole planning process, Keelee was very accessible and prompt in responding (most of the time she responded the same day!). She helped with decorations, menus, and planning for the whole day. When the Colorado floods threatened to cancel our wedding all together, and the government shutdown made us change our ceremony location to the Crags at the last minute, she wasn't phased at all and worked with us through the entire process. The Crags is a great venue, but Keelee really is the best thing about the Crags! My wedding went off perfectly because of her. Thanks, Keelee!

I am so thankful that I found this beautiful gem in the mountains to host my wedding reception at. It has such a classic feel to it. Not only was the venue itself beautiful, but the view was great too. The food was amazing and very reasonably priced. Everyone was very professional and the whole night went very smoothly. In addition, their event coordinator at the Lodge, Keelee, was absolutely amazing to work with. She always thought of everything and had a "motherly touch" to make sure that we both felt very well taken care of. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anyone who is thinking about getting married in the mountains!

My husband and I had our rehersal dinner, ceremony and reception at Crags Lodge. There are so many good things to say about our experience with Keelee and the staff. The kindness, helpfulness, responsivness and professionalism was so genuine. Keelee was so helpful throughout the entire process. We had so many questions and concerns, which she was able to either help or make suggestions on how to get handled. Our family was able to call and ask questins and coordinate with Keelee as well. That took so much pressure off us. We had food allergy issues we needed to deal with, homemade decorations to setup and deal with, my aunt made our cake-- Keelee accomodated arrangements for all this. It is December, our wedding was in October, our family and friends still speak about how wonderful of a place Crags Lodge was and the food ..oh my gosh it was completely amazing! In fact it was so good everyone went back for seconds maybe even thirds. Our guests will go back for vacations, they absolutely loved it. Seth and I can't thank Keelee and the entire wonderful staff enough. Truely our day was special... Keelee was a huge part of making that happen. I have recommended this facility to other friends that are getting married within the year and I recommend this facility and Keelee to anyone and everyone. It is such a perfect beautiful low stress place.

I recently had my weddding at the View Restaurant at the Historic Crags Lodge. Keelee was our wedding coordinator here and she was wonderful. She answered all my questions, got us everything we needed and offered us great advice regarding our other vendors. The food was great and also very affordable. Our wedding was so wonderful and fun and it was all thanks to Keelee and her staff!

I helped plan a wedding at this location & Keelee was absolutely incredible throughout the entire time! For over a year (on & off), she answered all of the bride's questions with a prompt & courteous manner; she even had a backup ceremony site prepared in case of inclement weather on the wedding date. The venue was just what the bride & groom wanted & the view of Estes Park from here is unmatched! The food was cooked to perfection & incredibly delicious, I had thirds! Perfect place for a wedding & reception! Highly recommended!

Our venue was outstanding. Keelee went above and beyond to make our day anything and everything we could ever want. She responded to any question, to matter how big or small, within moments over the last year, and she told us YES to making everything happen the way we wanted -- from food to floor plans to decorations -- she made everything run smoothly and beautifully. We could not have imagined anything more. This place and Keelee were the absolute best....our wedding guests thought so too and we've even heard that out-of-town guests have recommended this place to their friends! It was perfect.

Working with Keelee was probably the best part of planning my wedding. She was so responsive and accomodating and even though I know she had a ton of weddings this year she made me feel like mine was the only one. I never had any trouble getting a response from her via phone or email, and anything I asked for she delivered. Thank you, Keelee, for making my wedding reception so wonderful!
Being a vegetarian it was important to me to have a 3rd vegetarian option on the menu, while still having meat options for the non-veggies. The Vew was not only able to provide 3 entree options but the vegetarian dish was probably the best one! All of the food was delicious and got rave reviews from the guests. Everything at the reception went really smoothly and the venue was so beautiful at night with the view of town.

This is an AMAZING hidden gem! Most definitely the BEST VIEW in Estes Park! My husband and I visit The View Restaurant every year, we got engaged there and then had our wedding reception there in May 2009. Kathy and Mike are a pleasure to work with, and everything was beyond our expectations. The wedding was amazing and perfect! I would recommend trying the beef tips, and orange glazed salmon for dinner options. We look forward to coming back every year for our anniversary!

I had my wedding and reception at the crags lodge! It was Fantastic! I didnt have to do anything! I told them what I wanted and they provided. First it was my wedding, they put up a wall for just the wedding area. As our guests were at the cocktail hour, they took down the walls for the dance floor and reception. The food was GREAT, it came out still hot and everyone enjoyed it! Our waiters were provided by The View and were very good. Thanks guys for coming though on the most wonderful day in my life!!

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the staff at the Crag's Lodge for our wedding. Also, the wedding planner there, Keeley, was outstanding! We had planned to have the wedding outside, but we realized the day before that the wedding would have to be moved inside (which changed a number of things). Keeley was awesome - she told us our options clearly so that we could decide what we wanted. The set-up for the wedding was fantastic. Most of our guests were staying at the lodge and she helped them check in and showed them to their rooms. She also showed the flower person how we wanted the flowers arranged, had the minister see me before the ceremony as there were a few concerns I had, handled the cake person so that nobody would see the wedding cake before the reception, helped the string quartet set up and kept the timing for the entrance of the bridal party. As the bride, I wasn't worried about a thing because Keeley was so capable, the lodge room was beautiful, and the wedding was perfect!!!

Keelee went above and beyond to make our wedding run smoothly.
She even let us come in early and set up/store items, which was very nice.
I was VERY impressed with the food. We had a budget and had to stick to the lower end entrees, but they were magnificent! I loved the all-inclusive (plates/chairs/linens all included in the price which was VERY reasonable compared to other places) I would highly recommend the Crags lodge for any wedding/celebration dinner. The Atmosphere (i.e. real wood burning fire place/ spectacular views) provide for a true Colorado experience especially for out-of-towners!

We were planning our destination wedding to Estes Park (we are from 800+ miles away). Multiple emails back and forth with other businesses in the area made me very nervous that there was no hope for a restaurant to accommodate our small, intimate wedding party for a dinner following our ceremony. I found The View on Wedding Wire and was immediately put at ease with Michael and his reassurance that he could easily make room and give our small group the semi-private and intimate setting we were looking for. His service and the food were absolutely amazing and we could not be thankful enough. We cannot wait to come back and enjoy this restaurant again!

The View was absolutely perfect. We had scheduled our wedding for dinner and a month before we wanted to change it up and do brunch. Jessica was very accommodating and was so helpful. We are from MN and traveled to Estes Park for our wedding and Jessica was SO helpful during the process and even nicer and more helpful in person! The location could not have been more perfect and the brunch food was delish. I asked Jessica if she could play the music that is typically played during their normal restaurant hours and she was more than happy to play some relaxing background music while we ate and mingled. I traveled to many other locations that had made the list of potential locations, and I am so happy we chose The View.

we had many MANY guests talk to us on that night and WEEKS afterwards talking about how delicious the food was. and the venue was just perfect. so glad we got married there!

Loved this venue. They gave an amazing price for the ceremony/reception -- the major expense was for the food. I absolutely loved having the wall of windows and all the natural light that came in. Our winter wedding looked stunning with all the wood, and decor expenses were kept very low because the place was already furnished so well. The wedding contact (Keely) did a great job staying on top of organizing the venue's staff and keeping things moving perfectly. Our wedding literally happened without a single hitch (other than my dad forgetting to hug my husband when he handed me off, that was literally it). So thankful for our time there!

The View is such a beautiful place to get married at. We had several comments about what a great place we selected. Their food is terrific and Keelee is great to work with. Every question I had was answered by her in a timely manner and we couldn't have pulled it off without Keelee and her fantastic staff at the view.

Beautiful and Delicious Reception Venue

Mike Hansen, owner of the View, is a pleasure to work with. He always went out of his way to be sure things went right for us.

I appreciated having the whole day to set-up/clean-up for our event and not feel rushed sandwiched between multiple events. The crew there helped get tables/chairs moved around and organized so it looked asthetically pleasing and fit comfortably.

We received so many compliments on the food at our wedding and we had the buffet option with two entree options. The cobbler is to die for, and I am saddened I didn’t eat any at our reception with the cake and visiting guests going on :)

I'm really glad we had our wedding at the Crags. Seriously, it was just gorgeous. Many friends and family members came up to us afterwards, gushing how they loved the venue, and especially the food.

Such a great couple to work with. We're very pleased with our experience there and with them.

We had our wedding at The View in September. Jessica is a pleasure to work with and is very helpful with any and all questions. We had our ceremony outdoors and of course, the view at the site is amazing. The reception was great as well--the food really is good (we got to snag a few bites!) Overall, a perfect venue for a rustic/mountain/lodge wedding!

This is a hidden gem in Estes' Park. After reviewing different locations and going over pricing, it was suggested to me to check this location out. I drove up the hill that overlooks all of Estes Park (sits directly across from the Stanley hotel on the other side of town).

My favorite part was that they had both a ceremony and reception site in one location so my guests didn't have to travel. It was a great lodge, you do not have to rent any rooms (unlike some other locations) and Keeley (the wedding coordinator) is the best ever to work with! She can work with fussy brides or laid back ones. I was laid back so that was great for the both of us! She really knows her stuff and has good recommendations for local vendors (flowers, cakes, etc.) who are well known in the community!

Also, the food is OUTSTANDING! To this day (over a 1.5 years after the wedding) I still have people tell me that the food at my wedding was the best they had ever had! I'd recommend the Chicken Picatta and the Prime Rib. On the prime rib I requested it not be too rare and bloody and Keeley and her staff made a note of it and made sure it went accordingly.

This is a great location!

Amazing place to hold a wedding!! As all the other review state, Keelee is awesome!! She made the wedding flow smoothly and seemlessly. The reception site is beyond words and I couldn't be happier with my wedding. The only reason i rated the one star low was due to the actual Crag Lodge itself. About 6 months before my wedding, the restaurant and the lodge split and were managed by different entities. Keelee tried everything she could to help us and was uable to due to the split. Therefore we had a horrendous time dealing with the actual lodge. Mark the manager is the most unprofessional man I have ever dealt with. Not only was he impossible to get ahold of, he would never return phone calls or emails. He continued to spell mine and my husbands name incorrectly even after being asked to spell them right. He was horrible. I was very disappointed with his lack of professionalism. Diamonds resorts (the head office) was not much better. There "contract" appeared to be written by a 5th grader and was very inaccurate. Even up to the day of the wedding they had our room numbers and block wrong. It was very frustrating to deal with. Keelee was the only saving grace. Again, the actual restaurant was amazing and our wedding was wonderful. Dealing with Mark and Diamond Resorts, was very frustrating.

Keelee was flexible but we had to be firm with our concept. The food was great. I had specific instructions about the bar that did not get followed so that was disappointing, but on the whole, the venue was nice, our guests had fun, and it was a good value. I would not recommend the ceremony site, I had mine elsewhere.

DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE if Jessica is still the coordinator. She made everything unnecessarily difficult, did not return calls or emails (providing a bookful of excuses), did not show up on time, would not put PRICES in our contract, gave my mom's credit card information to her (Jessica's) husband, sent snippy, unprofessional emails, and was definitely the sour spot for our reception. She even set the whole room up backwards so I had to recruit people to move heavy tables and reset place settings on the morning of my wedding because she wasn't there to fix it. RUN!!!

We had our wedding here a few weeks ago and I have debated if I should even bother to review this place. First off, the view is fantastic and we thought the food was good for a wedding buffet. The one thing that sticks out in our minds is how rude the venue coordinator Jessica is. We are extremely embarrassed by her rude attitude and received many negative complaints from our guests and vendors. I see there has not been a review since she took over (within the past year) so I am wondering if we are not the only ones who felt this way. We witnessed her yelling at our DJ and he commented to me that she told him he was doing everything wrong but we thought he was amazing. It all started when she attempted to reschedule our rehearsal a WEEK before our wedding (when we had already booked another location for dinner and had a specific time set) she sent me the rudest email back- see below

"You are correct, at the time I did not have a wedding on Friday however this was a last minute booking. I don't feel I should have to explain another booking but this was a cancelled wedding that needed a venue. I don't do more then one wedding a day but there is no reason why another wedding can not be booked the day prior. This is the nature of my business as an owner of a wedding venue. We do back to back weddings all the time. I have provided you with two options to accommodate your rehearsal."

Before our wedding even started she was rude to our family setting up, MOVED OUR DECORATIONS to her liking when we did NOT ASK HER to and was rude to the person who brought our cake.
We will never return or support this business as long as she is working there. She is clearly in the wrong business and should not be working in a high stress environment. Save yourself the embarrassment and get married elsewhere. our friend went to the hospital for dehydration and she decided it was time to shut down our wedding and flipped out on everyone for us having to call an EMT.
