Best Venue Ever

I honestly could go on and on about the Veranda and their amazing team. Chanel, Kim, and Jessica and the the rest of the Veranda crew are incredible and went above and beyond in helping make our day the magical event it was. I could not have done any of it without them and you will not regret choosing them for your venue! ❤️

Stunning venue

Absolutely STUNNING venue!! Everything about this venue was just perfect...the staff is amazing, the catering was delicious and it was all just beautiful. I'm so happy we had our wedding here!

All I have to say is having our special day at The Veranda was more perfect than I could have imagined. First off, working with Stacey and Jessica was great. These ladies did everything to make our day go seamless. The venue was gorgeous and for the price you pay, what a value! I had so many compliments from my guests about how beautiful and unique the grounds were. I couldn't have better things to say about this place. A big thank you to the Veranda!

The Veranda was a dream to work with! The venue itself is gorgeous with so much beautiful scenery. Stacey and Jessica were so professional, friendly, and accommodating. Emails were answered promptly and they really helped us plan the perfect daytime wedding and brunch menu. Our wedding went so smoothly and the service was top notch. Our guests raved about the venue, food, and service. The staff at the Veranda just went above and beyond to take care of us on our special day and we couldn’t be more grateful!

The venue itself is so beautiful, but then you get the amazing service and even better wedding planner. Stacey Garcia went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect, i recommend this beautiful venue and their awesome service to everyone!!

Loved the venue and all of the staff. Jessica was very flexible and accommodating with food choices, and Stacey was so helpful and always available to answer questions. Response time was great as well! The venue is beautiful and affordable and I would recommend it for any event!

This was the absolute best venue we could have asked for! It had everything we ever dreamed of to make our big day special. From the beautiful grounds to the amazing and personable staff, we had the best experience! Our guest list was 250 and it rained on our wedding day and the staff still made it seem like everything was supposed to happen the way it did. They moved the wedding under The Veranda so seamlessly and were consistently making sure that every move they made was exactly what my husband and I wanted. They took initiative and worked their hearts out to make sure our wedding day was a day we would never forget! From Jessica who was our main contact at The Veranda and Spice of Life, to our wedding coordinator, Stacey Garcia, we felt like we were working with family throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend The Veranda for a large wedding, small wedding, business event, school function, etc. We loved everything about it!

We were married at The Veranda in February 2017. We had an amazing experience! Anytime that I emailed, a response was sent quickly. The food was fantastic, the staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Everyone commented on how beautiful the wedding venue was and how everything flowed perfectly. I would highly recommend this venue if you are looking!

I can not say enough about the Veranda. I was married there in October, it was beautiful. First off, the venue itself is absolutely gorgeous. Therefore, you can save on décor because it comes free of cost. We had about 100 people, went over the number and without hesitation the staff accomadated them, reassuring me, "no big deal" and relieving added stress on my wedding day. The staff is amazing, and make you feel like this is their wedding too and give you 150 percent . I was allowed to walk through a couple of different times, because of family excited to see it without feeling like I was an "annoying bride" The tasting prior to the wedding was five stars. I took my best girlfriend who is a major foodie and she raved about it. I thought there would be food to sample, but it was a sit down wine and dining experience.
My guests said BEST WEDDING EVER and if they only knew how much I didn't have to spend in comparison to other venues, this one is higher quality, and beauty for a steal. I was reading some of the reviews on here, and felt obligated to post because some people are obviously difficult to please NO MATTER what you do. I feel a personal obligation to post my experience because it was one of the best days of my life and I could of not experienced it without the Veranda, The staff, Chef and all the hard work they did.
Thank You veranda. You do make brides dreams come true without the cost, and the stress.

This is a seriously fantastic company! The venue is gorgeous and needs minimal decorating, the food is delicious, and service is top notch. They made the planning process effortless for us. I was very impressed with the way they handled an unexpected change of their staff that forced us to switch coordinators. They made sure all bases were covered and that the change didn't negatively affect our experience at all. We received so many compliments from our friends and family about the location and the food and everyone had a great time. I would definitely host another even there.

The Veranda was breath-taking as a venue for our wedding. From the moment I toured the grounds I knew it was the place I wanted to get married. The venue can accommodate many event sizes while still feeling intimate. The grounds are lush and well maintained which made decorating very easy. They have a lot of items available for use such as: tables, chairs, garden arbors, cocktail tables, table clothes. My favorite was the LOVE table we used for gifts. There was also a glass table for the wedding guest painting "guestbook" and the glass table for the cake. We did have to rent the color napkins and table runners we wanted but that's a minor detail and much easier for me to get the color I want than for them to offer every color under the sun. The venue also came with catering by Spice of Life. The consultant I worked with took ideas we had for what we might want as well as what types of things we normally eat to craft a menu that fit out taste perfectly. They are also very flexible with budgeting so you can get close to what you want with the budget you have to work with. Our food was delicious!! We had tortilla crusted shrimp, stuffed mushroom caps, and chicken diablos for the cocktail hour. The dinner was a traditional Caesar salad, followed by jumbo shrimp wellington with a crab and mushroom stuffing, petite bacon wrapped pork tenderloin filet, and roasted garlic mashed potatoes and a medley of sautéed green and yellow beans and carrots. The catering also includes the drinks as well. They have several different options depending on what you can afford, including beer, wine, and a signature cocktail. We had the Blue Heaven for our cocktail and they did a great job of keeping it flowing all night long. They are strict about outside alcohol because of their liquor license so I wouldn't even try to bring anything; we didn't. Miranda was a wonderful contact for the venue. She made sure that the entire ceremony went smoothly and I didn't have to worry about anything.

Wow - what an amazing venue and staff!! Take a tour and you will want to book immediately! Our guests enjoyed it because the venue makes for a great backyard party. Instead of being closed up in one room, they enjoyed cocktails on the lawn, played giant jenga in the courtyard, and dined and danced under the pavilion! Jessica and the Spice of Life team can create anything - I'd highly recommend the churro dessert station! :)

If we had chosen any other venue, our wedding would not have had the same feel to it. And you don't have to much decor-wise, the place is already gorgeous!

The Veranda is a beautiful hidden gem in San Antonio at an affordable price. We wanted to have a vintage-inspired garden wedding and this was definitively the perfect venue for it. The staff was so helpful throughout the planning process and the service on the wedding day was excellent.

Even though we had inclement weather on our wedding day, the open reception pavilion was converted into a semi-enclosed area with space heaters and that saved the day. Our guests were enchanted with the placed, they were comfortable despite the cold weather, and everyone loved and enjoyed the wedding. Thanks Veranda Team!!!!

The Veranda was the perfect venue for our day. It is so unique and beautiful- and it was a huge part of making our day perfect!
The Spice of Life team made me feel like whatever I wanted to happen on our special day was no problem... the day was perfect! They made everything a possibility!!
Oh, and the food was unbelievable! We actually made it a point to sit down and eat during the reception- and then we got to eat more of it later as they sent us home with the most amazing to go plates :)

If you want a unique, beautiful, personalized wedding day (or any other special event)- don't wait to book this venue! These people know how to throw a party!!!!

We were blessed to have one of the most beautiful weddings in San Antonio at this most unique location. We still hear how wonderful our wedding was from the location, to the food, to the atmosphere. Thank you for the time and effort that was put in for our wedding. You don't even begin to realize how effortless you made this event for me and my husband. We had always envisioned our wedding to be as comfortable as a backyard picnic but with a twist of class and we got exactly what we wished for! If I could do it all over again, I would.

We had the honor of being the first wedding at The Veranda after the remodel was completed. From the decor to the landscaping, the venue is absolutely beautiful!!! The style and design lends itself to a classic country style wedding (like ours) or a more contemporary event. They have plenty of "picture perfect" spots that you and your photographer will love!

The food and staff were equally amazing. They have an experienced staff that knows how to take the pressure out of the day. We were able to relax and enjoy the entire evening rather than have to worry about the little details. Thank you to everyone for making it the best day of our lives!!!

Jessica was a blast to work with. She gave us ideas and suggestions to make our shower special. The food was amazing and our guests had nothing but good things to say. The venue was beautiful and was the perfect setting for our event. We couldn't have asked for a better shower!

We had our wedding reception at the Veranda. It is such a beautiful venue, our main issue was the pavilion renovation (Aug 2018) which they told us in May would be finished by our date. Things come up with construction and unfortunately landed on our date. They made it look spectacular, you couldn't even tell it was under construction. They also put the AC on full blast with fans, so even in the middle of Aug the temperature was cool enough for our reception. We loved Spice of Life catering, the food was top notch. I was worried about the chairs as they are a little worn, but the evening of the event with everything put together you couldn't tell at all. One of our main reasons for choosing the Veranda is the little bar across the street (Mitchells) its close enough to walk to and a great after reception place!

This place is amazing and breathtaking! We had a wonderful wedding! The ceremony and reception was beautiful! I highly recommend this place if you are wanting your dream wedding! I had a little bit of problems getting everything organized! It seems like the staff in the office doesn't know what they are doing. Everytime I dealt with someone they were telling me different things. My recommendation is ONLY WORK WITH MIRANDA! Once I got in contact with her everything was clear! There were no different answers! The day of the wedding she outdid herself! Miranda and Carole are wonderful! I never worried about a thing! They had everything on point! Carole was constantly checking up on us! These two people make your night a wonder!!!!

Beautiful Event Space

We loved The Veranda as a space and it was worth some of the trouble we went through to have our wedding there. Booking and the contract are standard and they are flexible and helpful with needs for your event. They were in the middle of a change of event coordinators which caused some confusion and delays in responses they weeks leading up to our wedding day. Chanel was a little unorganized and I had to diligently check her work for the details of our menus and layout, but she was easy to work with and was never irritated or rude about changes. Kim and Marsh helped on our big day and they were fabulous. Jessica coordinated our catering and she was the best! We love our photos and the facilities were fantastic for getting ready. Our guests were so impressed with our location, and we couldn’t have had a more beautiful day!

The Veranda is great if you are trying to eliminate some decision making (i.e. stress) This place is already stunning- a beautiful historic mansion with gardens, low-hanging mature trees, lights strung everywhere, a fish pond, and a large yet covered outdoor eating area. All we brought were cake and flowers for the tables to decorate and it looked absolutely amazing! Spice of Life Catering is also onsite and all of our guests raved about the wedding food. There are tons of choices and you'll get to try everything.

The catering service, Spice of Life is amazing and they are willing to work with your budget. The venue is beautiful and the space is huge and cozy. I feel like, it's a great place to entertain a lot guest because your guest can move around. You can't go wrong with your menu because Spice of Life does a very good job with creating your menu and the food is really good. Well worth the price. One thing you must consider that I didn't until a few weeks leading up to our wedding was, The Veranda does not offer a day of wedding coordinator. I know other venues offer a person who will be onsite to help out with facilitating and directing people but The Veranda does not. Luckily we had a friend who was willing to take on this role, which is always helpful for any bride. :D Overall we had a great experience at The Veranda and I would recommend them to friends and family.

I started planning my wedding overseas 9 months before the date and it had been an uphill climb almost every step of the way. I didn't want to believe things would go wrong on the day of the wedding but they did. First of all, the main wedding coordinator, Miranda (who has since been let go) was a nightmare to work with as she was rude, unresponsive and completely unconcerned about us as clients. It was as if we were bothering her! We were close to choosing other venues but chose the Veranda because of location only. There's no use in talking about Miranda since she's now gone but she was a major part of the bad experience and it's hard to believe other people gave her good reviews! I wish we would've had anyone else. The worst part? The food. We had heard the food would be so great and were disappointed greatly. The tasting was good but the day of was unacceptable. There was no effort put into making the "stations" look nice: Servers were wearing sweatshirts, food wasn't replenished; no dinner size plates were provided; the taste was bad, food was cold and the list goes on...This was not the work of a polished catering company at all. The part that irritated us the worst was that we were promised 2 bartenders, but there was only 1 and a huge line the whole night. Of course the night of I didn't bother getting mad but when I brought all these faults to the attention of the catering manager it was as if she didn't really believe us and made excuses for all these faults instead of taking full responsibility. Trust me, I gain nothing by complaining and wouldn't lie about what went wrong. It all just left a bad taste in my mouth and I can't say it was a great experience. The venue itself is beautiful but that is the only positive side.

We got the venue for a steal of 5,000.00 for Valentine's Day, which happened to fall on a Tuesday in 2017. However, when we arrived for an open house, we were treated with a less-than exciting reception. In fact, the girl who showed us around was so unprofessional, we had to resort to speaking with the manager from there on in. We were not impressed with the menu items until we brought in our own recipes. After a few months, they hired another girl, Stacy, who is very sweet, but the communication issues felt by myself and my coordinator left me less than impressed, and left my coordinator deciding she would never want to work with them again. However, the event staff the day of (the site coordinator left before the event began, although she was supposed to stay that night) was above professional. That being said, the officer on staff slept thorugh the event, and decided to try to sleep with one of the guests. The most frustrating event for me, was the fact that the officer did not do rounds to ensure everyone was out of the venue before locking up. When my best man was locked into the venue, we tried calling the coordinator, the venue, with no reply. We then called law enforcement, and the dispatcher promised she would try. She then called the owner, who refused to let the best man out for the night. When I spoke with the manager about this, she blamed my best man for being drunk, which he was not, rather than accepting any blame. Other issues arose with payment amounts (we asked how much was owed, and were told nothing), only to be informed 1 hour before the ceremony of a 4k payment owed. When I arrived to the venue to begin getting ready, the bridal room was being painted, and it took an hour to get water in the bridal room. Unless you are ready to MASSIVELY MICROMANAGE EVERYTHING, please look elsewhere.

Beware of these folks

Do not do business with these people. And this isn't some idiotic complaint to get mad at these people for spilling my water or something simple. Please read: We signed a contract for a dollar amount and 4 days later they are trying to bill us for a labor fee that we never signed for in our contract to set up and take down chairs. The owner and staff try to play a guilt trip on you to get you to pay for the fee by saying "Well you had a good event right? We have to pay our people. Are you telling me we shouldn't pay our people?" I can't think of a business that can get away with signing a contract, then get paid, then try to bill you more for non-agreed fees. Literally, they are deceptive in their dealings. So, I would say get in writing the total amount before you decide this is your place, but chances are, it won't matter anyway. Or, just don't do business with shady people. Chanel, literally said "I don't have energy for this" as I tried to state why this was wrong in a calm voice. Then Mike the owner, hung up on me when I was trying to make the same point.
