Great work and amazing to work with!

Gene and his team were great! Very friendly and easy to work with, made it very comfortable being in front of the camera. He had ideas of what would look cool and also made sure to get the photos that I wanted as well. Everything turned out amazing quality wise. I couldn’t be happier!

Great team

These guys are wonderful! They took some amazing pictures, made us laugh the whole time. They were so accommodating and patient with us and all the kids. We highly recommend them!!

Worth every penny!

We paid for the Photography and DJ/MC Entertainment package for our wedding which was incredibly worthwhile! Gene, his assistant, and the DJ were very professional and fun to be around. The pictures were stunning and they had creative ideas for games and getting people on the dance floor. I would highly recommend their services!

Outstanding!!

I cannot recommend The Studio I Do enough!! They were phenomenal and so fun to work with! Their professionalism and experience helped our wedding go so smoothly, and the final product was absolutely amazing. I was blown away by the pictures; they captured so many moments perfectly. We also received tons of compliments from our guests about the DJ. Tad kept people dancing all night. Again, cannot recommend enough.

The Best Day

Gene, Sam & Joseph made our wedding absolutely wonderful. They were with us from the start of the day capturing our intimate moments and making us feel like family. They killed it in the reception game. There wasn’t a moment when our guests weren’t entertained. Our pictures are BEAUTIFUL. They really capture our love and how great our day was. Amazing Team!

We booked this vendor for our wedding DJ and photographers. They were AMAZING!! Gene and his team were so prepared, helped me relax and feel amazing on our special day, and were absolutely professional and efficient! I cannot say enough how much they positively impacted our day and even our engagement photo session. So many laughs and smiles! I 100% recommend and I will absolutely be using them in the future! They’re the best people!

Awesome Company

Studio I Do was very professional and very fun people to work with. They really worked fast and helped us to enjoy the day. Our wedding turned out perfectly. Our engagement session also was a complete blast. They helped with our stress and put us at ease, especially since neither one of us like having our photos taken. We got so many compliments about their DJ as well, really engaging and everyone had fun.

Extremely gifted in his art, amazing energy and memorable!!

We did both services The Studio I do offers of photography and the DJ service which I couldn't be more happy and pleased. With the reviews I read , already outstanding! TRULY it far exceeded that to me! Gene and his team work together so well and effortless it amazed me and the guests. On the photography end hes extremely gifted and Tad and him really work well together thinking of anything and everything out of the box, staged.. but artistic and traditional. He really communicates asking what you want in all realms have your pictures being taken the Posed and candid shots being taken unobtrusively where you didn't even realize it ..where they were truly capturing the people being photographed at their most authentic moments.

The DJ service was like nothing I had ever experienced for all the DJs I had been to in the past for previous events. He truly takes a whole new spin on what most do as just the standard group dances. Hes very creative in all realms for all ages truly I could go on and on.

I would highly recommend if you're in need of service for photography or DJ service or both,, you truly would want to go with The Studio I do ,Gene Elrod and his crew.
I wish we could do the wedding all over again just to have the whole experience all over again😁

Best of the Best!!!

The Studio I Do Photography and DJ services were amazing for our Special day! The crew were down to earth and super easy to work with! They helped make our day go smoothly and stay on time. As the Bride, I had no worry with our photos or our DJ services. Everything was done to what we wanted. We absolutely love our photos from the day and engagement photos. The DJ service kept our guest engaged and dancing all night long! I have had many many people say we had one of the best and fun weddings they have gone to in a long time. Our dance floor was full the whole night long. The plus of having the company do the DJ service as well, you will have your photographer all day and night! They also have great packages options for everyone!! I will be recommending and have already recommended this company to many who are getting married soon. I just can't say enough how GREAT The Studio I DO is!!!

Surpassed my expectations!!!

Where do I even begin. Gene and his crew did an AMAZING job! I received so many comments from guests on how fun and interactive Gene and his crew were. Guests said they’ve never been to a wedding dance that was that fun and interactive. That was my worst fear as a bride, having a wedding dance where no one dances and Gene and his crew surpassed my expectations!!!! The dance floor was PACKED!!! The night was truly perfect. Thank you again 🤗 highly recommend Studio I Do for your wedding DJ/photographer.

The Studio I do team was creative, passionate, flexible, patient, and FUN!

There were various options for backdrops in Hawaii at our venue , Gene made sure to scope out the venue to maximize the various scenery days prior to the big day. He knew exactly where to take the wedding party for intimate and breath taking moments. We decided to fly Gene out to Hawaii with us to capture our Wedding day and oh boy was it the
BEST decision I had made. He captured every single special moment and my pictures turned out perfect. A year later, I am still looking at our pictures and video reminiscing the perfect Wedding. Not only did we hire him for our destination wedding but we also hired him for our reception party back home. The Studio I Do team did an outstanding job exceeding my expectations, and I am so blessed to have made new friends during this. Gene, his wife, and his assistant were family to us. We all connected in a way that was very special and we will continue to remain friends with his team! I don't know where to even begin in regards to The Studio I Do. Gene & Sam work seamlessly together and we are so thankful we booked their services. They truly are the ultimate team. We booked the package where they took pictures all day and also were our DJ's for the dance. Every part of our day these two were involved in and they helped make everything flow seemlessly. Whether it was helping us untangle balloons for our balloon release, helping me situate my dress, or keeping our wedding party together they rocked it while doing it. Our engagement pictures and wedding pictures turned out amazing and they caught all the moments we wanted and more! They also helped keep our dance fun and exciting. There was not 1 time I sat down the entire night and most of our wedding party was the same. We had a blast!! We had a family member get married the weekend after us and it was amazing how many family members said our wedding was so much more fun because of the games played at our reception and the fact that Gene & Sam's music selection kept everyone out on the dance floor. I highly recommend their services. :)

Gene was excellent to work with! He responds to emails very quickly, very professional, and helped even my shy husband loosen up enough to take fun photos that look "more like us". He came to our family farm for engagement photos, and then drove to IA for our wedding. He picked up on our style and came up with lots of different poses to accommodate us. I liked that we were given a flash drive with all the photos on it to then use when and where we wanted. It allowed us time to decide which photos we wanted to print out, use for thank you cards, etc. Since our wedding, I've seen Gene a few other times at my friends weddings- because they liked him so much as well!

We had an AMAZING experience with Gene. He is a great photographer and an awesome DJ. He does reception activities in a unique way that made all of the guests feel involved! He knows exactly what he wants to do with the settings of pictures and does them in a fast and efficient way but with the best quality. I couldn't have asked for a better photographer/dj. Worth every penny spent to have these guys be part of our day. We really enjoyed having Gene and Sam as our photographers. They made our day fun and made the picture part of our day very relaxed. We received several compliments about them throughout the day and couldn't ask for better.

Absolutely loved working with Gene and Sam! They were amazing, fun, and were very good at making you feel comfort able. Pictures and the entire day went smoothly and my husband and I didn't have to worry about a thing Gene or Sam had everything organized and planned and kept everything rolling from pictures to the dance. I have had endless comments on how fun our wedding was! They played all the music we liked and kept the crowd on the dance floor the whole night to where when they quit at midnight the crowd chanted three more songs. They were great more than we imagined and would recommend them to anyone!

Gene was very accommodating! We knew nothing about wedding planning and Gene made us feel comfortable to ask him any question. We called him several times with non picture related questions. He always answered our call and was very helpful. As far as taking pictures, him and his team took great photos and we're really easy to work with. Pictures the day of the wedding went quick, so everyone stayed fresh. They didn't drag on at a slow pace like some weddings I have been in. He also did a great job as a DJ.

My wife and I LOVED working with Gene and Sam. Our engagement pictures were great and he was very flexible with the time we took them as we had to reschedule once when I was sick. It has been several months since our wedding and our family can't stop talking about how much they loved our wedding photos! Gene and Sam took a lot of pictures that we never thought about asking for and they took all of our suggestions we had and were willing to do whatever silly poses we wanted after we got our serious family pictures done. I highly recommend the Studio I Do!

We were early planners and contacted The Studio I Do almost a year and a half in advance. From then until the day of communication was always given with prompt replies and understanding of our trying to plan our South Dakota wedding from California. We used the Photography + DJ/MC package which included our engagement session also. The pictures looked absolutely amazing and we received them all, edited and with a release, in quick time. The DJ part of the package was just as good. They made sure to keep it a fun evening and getting everyone out on the floor. Not only was it wonderful quality but working with Gene for both the engagement and wedding photos was such fun. My husband is very reserved and it was fun seeing him open up during this thanks to Gene's great and fun attitude! We had the other photographer Sam on the wedding day as well and he had great ideas and input to add in to really complete the day. A great team! I highly recommend them to anyone looking, well worth the price you get so much more than just great quality photos. Great job!

Loved working with Gene as my wedding photographer. Engagement pictures were great and he was very flexible with the time we took them as we had to reschedule as I was sick. Gene and Sam did such an amazing job with both pictures and DJing for the reception. The wedding party and family all commented on Gene and Sam remembering everyone by name. Many comments were made on how great the reception and DJ were. We know the pictures are going to turn out great and everything turned out better than we could have imagined.

We had the pleasure of working with both Gene and Pamela. They were professional and easy to work with the entire time from the engagement pictures to the wedding! My now-husband and I felt at ease though neither one of us is very photogenic, but Gene and Pamela found a way to bring out the best in us! I wish I could give Gene & Sam a 10.0/5.0 for overall rating! They were incredible!! Book them now. We hired Gene as photographer as well as DJ for our wedding day. First off, we had engagement pictures. Gene asked me to send him ideas that I wanted to be sure we got. I sent him a lot of ideas and when we showed up for our session, Gene had them memorized! He coordinated our session and told us how to pose and where. Then we got all the edits within a week! There wasn't a single one (of 600) we didn't like. After that we could not wait for our wedding day because we knew he'd be just as efficient then too. Gene and Sam were fantastic. We got all the images that I wanted for our wedding day and some that we never would have thought of!! We've had numerous compliments on our reception as well. Gene and Sam kept the crowd entertained and caught some great pictures of the crowd! I HIGHLY recommend them to everyone. Why get a separate DJ and photographer when you can get both in the same package with the best photographer in the Sioux Falls area! :) The best part for me was that he doesn't put his name across the whole photo and you get full printing rights. I didn't want a photographer that ruins my photo by putting their name across the whole image or an entire corner. Gene is personable, funny, organized, and a great photographer. Hire The Studio I DO, you won't be disappointed!

Gene Elrod is a true professional. I hope we can have him at our next child's wedding! He was great to work with prior to the wedding, gave us superior photos for both the engagement and wedding photos of our daughter and son in law. He was so awesome as our DJ at the wedding and the dance. We received tons of comments on how he kept everything moving along and there was never a dull moment. He was so cooperative with our ideas and anything we needed him to say the night of the reception. It was great to have engagement photos, wedding photos and the DJ all in one nice package rather than working with a separate photographer and separate DJ. In the end each family and the bride and groom were given a thumb drive with the photos and can print what we would like. I'd recommend Gene to everyone!

After attending a family members wedding, we knew we had to have Gene and Sam as our photographers/DJ on our big day! We actually changed our wedding date to make sure to obtain Gene as our photographer and we our so thankful we did. Gene was extremely easy to work with. The number one thing that makes him worth every penny is his charisma the day of the wedding. He was calm and collected. He was in control of the bridal party and got the pictures we wanted without bossing people around. He kept the bride calm, which was priceless! We never even noticed he was there during the ceremony. The quality of pictures was spectacular and they were received on time.

Gene and his assistant did a fantastic job in making our wedding day go smoothly! He was extremely flexible with a few of the shots that I had ideas for and very helpful and creative with the rest of the photos! We have had so many compliments on how all of the photos turned out. And of course using the DJ option is a must because we had SO MANY people dance all night it was so fun for everyone. I absolutely recommend Studio I Do!

Gene made himself available to us on such short notice and did a wonderful job capturing our special day. He was open to our ideas but came ready with lots of ideas of his own as well. He was quick but thorough, and the finished product was more than we could have asked for.

Gene is such a great and easy going photographer to work with. He gives great direction while still making you feel free to suggest shots and give input. Geno was easy to work with and energetic. We were definitely satisfied with his performance. He knew we were stressed and understood. He made things happen, even when other things were going wrong. The dance was amazing! His song choices went along with exactly what we asked him for. Couldn't have asked for a better DJ. He also contributed music to our ceremony and gave us just what we asked for :).
He also took some photos at the dance for us that turned out great! Talented guy. Very thankful that we found him for our wedding!

My husband and I are thrilled with The Studio I Do. We chose the photography/dj package, and we are very glad we did. Gene and his staff made us feel completely comfortable the entire time, and they had so many great ideas. THE STUDIO I DO DID AN ABSOLUTELY AMAZING JOB AT MY WEDDING! I can't tell you how many of my guests came up and complimented me on how great our DJ and his assistant were. They kept the party going all night until the last moment when the hotel made them stop :) I also used Gene (the owner of Studio I Do) as my photographer--the pictures were unique and beautiful. For those of you reading this: Having the same person for your photographer AND DJ is SO. MUCH. EASIER. Less people to work with=smoother wedding day! Even better too, he was taking pictures during the dance because he WANTED to, not because he had to! I would definitely recommend Gene and the Studio I Do to anyone looking for exceptional service and quality in a Photographer/DJ.

I rated his value 5 stars because he gives you the high quality images on a flashdrive, free of annoying photographer stamps. He lets you print your own images, so you'll save money.

He's well worth the investment (and affordable compared to others). We are very happy with our engagement photos and have many poses we love.

Gene did an amazing job with our wedding. He is very reasonably priced which was the main reason why we chose him in the first place. On top of that, he was there every step of the way on our special day. He is a very personable man with a great attitude! My whole family loved him!

Gene has been in my life since he married my sister when I was 6. He has provided dj and photography to every family wedding since then, which has been alot of weddings!!! I always knew that I would have Gene host my reception because he is so one of a kind and exactly what I needed to make the wedding full circle. He helps the guests really connect with wedding party you see, from the way he helps the wedding party to open up and share to the way he gets people out on the dance floor. Gene's personality is so genuine and funny that he puts people at ease, allowing them to loosen up and enjoy themselves to the fullest. Saturday September 29, 2012 was the best day of my life, and a huge part of that goes to Gene Elrod Photography at The Studio I Do, and Dakota Entertainment!! He was FANTASTIC!! I met with him and showed him some pictures I would like to duplicate, and he made it happen. Gene really listened to what we wanted, and help achieve the look we were going for. Gene and his assistant Sam were a great team to work with. They had personality, enthusiasm (to get the bridal party smiling) and Professionalism throughout the entire night. I don't think I could have picked a better crew to have standing by our side, on one of the biggest days of our lives. Thank you Gene Elrod Photography and Dakota Entertainment, you went above and beyond our expectations.
Our reception was AMAZING. You really know how to keep the crowd going and keep it stress free. The lighting looked great, and the music choices were perfect!! Thank you for making our day one we will never forget, especially since I am still doing the laundry from losing during the dollar dance!! :)

We were very happy with the quality and efficiency of the services provided by Gene and Sam. My husband and I had many comments about how quickly the picture taking went and how they felt the photographers had many good ideas for settings and types of poses. Also had many compliments on the music for the night. Good balance of oldies and contemporary music. I had many older guests that wanted to sit and talk during the dance and they told me that the music was at a good level for everyone to enjoy. I highly recommend Dakota Entertainment to anyone looking for a quality DJ/photographer for a good price!

Gene Elrod did a great job with our wedding photos and DJ! We had a great day taking pictures before the ceremony, during the ceremony, he followed us in the limo, and he was our DJ during the reception. Gene went above and beyond what I expected leading up to and on our wedding day! He was so easy to contact and met with me as many times as needed. On the wedding day he was super organized and made it worry free! Gene was wonderful to work with. He was always very professional, but easy going enough for us to enjoy our time with him. We loved the engagement photo shoot. He really captured our unique personalities and relationship. Gene was easy to contact via email and typically responded within a day or two. Gene and Sam both shot our wedding and providing our DJ services for the reception. We loved having them. Sam was a great addition to the photo team. They both made our attendants and family (including a couple of children who hate pictures) feel at ease and comfortable with picture after picture. They had a well mapped plan for pictures which relieved the wedding party from being stressed. We have received several comments from our guests that Gene and Sam were the best wedding reception DJs they have ever seen. We agree!! It was also a huge plus having only one vendor for two different services. It cut down on the amount of phone calls and vendor communication we needed to do when planning. We would not hesitate to recommend "The Studio I Do" to any couple looking for the best in photography and entertainment for their wedding!

Gene and crew are very friendly and extremely easy to work with. The best value is that they provide all images, with no copyright/weird logo on them, on a flash drive that you're free to print from. Could not ask for a better value than their services.
The only downside I see is that they're not into the super artsy shots. However, we got some amazing shots with great color and poses. I was 100% satisfied and happy we booked them!

Gene at Studio I do was amazing to work with (his assistant on our wedding day was awesome too!). Very professional and easy going, made my husband and myself feel very comfortable. It was a fun experience and I would definitely recommend Gene for Engagement and Wedding photography! Thanks Gene!!

We had a great time with Gene and his assistant Sam at our wedding. We also enjoyed working with Gene for our engagement session. They are very easy to work with and accommodating to what we desired. They have a simple way of working with the couple and make it a relaxing and enjoyable time. The only thing I wished was that there could have been more editing done on certain images.

Gene was a rock star he took photos for our engagement session and wedding day. Also Gene's helper Sam was the DJ at the wedding. Everything went very well and we are both happy.

Gene and Sam were so much fun to work with. Having their services as a photographer and DJ made the day flow so much easier. I felt they really got to know Lindsey and Jeremy. The dance floor was never empty. Everyone commented on how much fun they had.

Gene is great! If booking with the Studio I Do make sure Gene and Sam are your wedding day photographers. Pam and Heather were pretty unorganized and, unfortunately, we did not end up with very good pictures.
