  Great Wedding Band!

  The Real Geniuses were everything we could have asked for from a band for our wedding! They sounded amazing and had such a great setlist. A good variety of songs that catered to all ages. Their energy was high and had great interactions with the guests. We had multiple people comment on how great they were. I highly recommend The Real Geniuses !

  These guys were absolutely awesome! From the first time I spoke to Elena I knew I was in good hands. She asked all the right questions to get to know not only our musical tastes but also our personalities and the tone we wanted to set for our wedding day. She followed up with an email outlining every detail that we had discussed on a timeline. I was super impressed by her already. The night of the wedding The Real Geniuses were on fire! I mean, they got EVERYONE up and dancing, even my dad who I have never seen dance in my life! They really know how to read a crowd and play the right songs that bring out the dancer in everyone. They even learned a new song and performed it flawlessly for our first dance. They looked great, they sounded awesome, they were 100% professional, and most of all you could tell they were having fun! We have received so many compliments about the band and how they really made the wedding. I could not agree more. They rocked it out! They were able to satisfy everyone's musical tastes with such a broad set list to choose from. I would recommend The Real Geniuses a hundred times over. They are amazing, fantastic, super talented, and so much fun!

  We cant say enough about how happy we were with the Real Geniuses.
  
  We had never been to a wedding that had a live band but whatever expectation that we had they were exceeded. Jason was so easy to work with and communicate with, if we had any questions or requests they were quickly answered. We had mentioned that we were going to have these songs for our first dance/mother son/and father daughter dance and they had already downloaded it on their own device so we didnt have to do anything the day of. They were so flexible in fact we were able to adjust things on the fly during the wedding. AMAZING. When they first started playing we honestly thought the music was playing off a cd, and just about everyone in attendance said the same thing. We had suggested 20 of the songs they had on their list and they were able to play them all. Along with many more expertly picked songs that kept the party going.
  
  They were great, they sounded great, they looked great. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone and perhaps even use them again in the future....who knows!

  These folks made the party--can't say enough good things. Booked through Sam Hill Entertainment. Music for every generation present. Folks still talkin' about it. If you and yours like to dance, bring them on!!!!

  The Real Geniuses basically MADE our wedding. 3 weeks later and guests have still been raving about how great the band was. You will be hard pressed to find a 5-piece rock band who all play instruments, and with a woman who plays keyboard and sings. They were just so amazing and talented. Jason, the lead singer, got in touch with me a month before the wedding, downloaded all our songs for the cocktail hour, and even cued up our processional and recessional songs. The whole band was so easy going and gracious. And the songs just rocked - I didn't think guests would stay to the bitter end but many did because the music was so good. Again, they were so easy to work with. Their price was so reasonable too that I still feel a bit guilty. Thanks again Jason and the band. If The Real Geniuses agree to play at your wedding, choose them. Enough said!

  This band was amazing! They sounded so much better than many bands that we had listened to. They kept to the schedule that we had created, keeping the wedding flowing, and played every song that we had requested. Most impressive, they downloaded all the songs that we requested for the cocktail hour. Additionally, they had a dedicated soundman walking around the reception the entire evening making sure everything was in balance.

  This band was amazing! They sounded so much better than many bands that we had listened to.   The Real Geniuses are AWESOME!! When hunting for a wedding band we came across them and I was hopeful I would like them in person, so we put our wedding date on hold until we could see them live. Well...being the fun band they are, another couple wanted our date and we had to make a game time decision! Go for it! After booking them we crossed our fingers and drove to Annapolis to see them in person and it was such a FUN NIGHT! No regrets. They sound just like their video for those worried, like I was.
  
  Jason was fun to work with and the band was prepared with all of our song selections and do not play lists. Jason even came to check out our venue before the wedding since there were some questions about needing a sound tech or not. Jason was confident we didn't and they could handle everything and they did.
  
  That night -- SOOOO AMAZING. We had a lot going on: beautiful weather with an outside terrace, full moon with an eclipse, photobooth, etc. At first I was worried "oh nobody's dancing" but once the band got rolling the dance floor was packed and it stayed that way until the night was over. People were singing and singing and dancing and dancing. I even got the mic to do a little karaoke on the dance floor while the band was rocking out! Loved them!
  
  Post wedding: Jason was very honest and professional. We made a mistake in writing out their payment and accidentally overpaid them. He emailed me the very next day to confirm and let me know. We requested some of the money back which he mailed back right away. We probably never would have known or figured it out; so we appreciate a vendor that was honest about being overpaid! I could tell from our first phone call that they are just nice cool people.
  
  We have gotten MANY compliments on the band and we plan to go see the Real Geniuses in the area with friends for a fun wedding memory and a great night out! We are children of the 80's but they played some current stuff too.

  The Real Geniuses are AWESOME. They are reasonably priced, great musicians (and I am a musician myself!), they are well-rehearsed, in tune, and sing beautiful vocals and harmonies. They were a HUGE hit at our wedding and play such a wide range of songs that there is something to please everyone! Jason is also a breeze to email with, he is a fast responder and was so helpful and nice organizing our timeline and planning things at the reception. I never felt like I was a crazy bride emailing him so many times! They also provided speakers for our ceremony, AND they played background music via ipod at the cocktail hour. They even learned a new song for our first dance that wasn't on their repertoire. I am SO GLAD we worked with them, they were wonderful to work with!! I'm looking forward to going to one of their upcoming performances in the area!

  If I could give The Real Geniuses 100 stars I would! That is how fantastic they are. They recently played at my daughter's wedding and they blew the roof off the place! I have never seen so many people dancing all night long without sitting down to rest. This band has so much energy and they are such a fun group. Every single person at the wedding told us they had never heard such a great band before at a wedding. They sound fantastic, they look great and they are extremely talented singers and musicians. I wish I had more daughters getting married so I could hire them again!!

  I always knew I would have fun at my wedding but I never imagined how much fun everyone else would have. The music was non stop from the beginning and 95 percent of the guests danced the entire time. Every comment I received after the wedding was how good the band/music was. If you love 80s and want your guests to have a great time then hire these guys!

  Wow. Where to start. These guys (and gal) are incredible. After searching for a band for quite a while, we hired the Real Geniuses to play our wedding in Washington, DC through Sam Hill Bands. This was hands-down the best decision we made at our wedding. Their demo video should give you a pretty good idea of what the Real Geniuses sound like and are capable-of. Always the skeptics, and knowing that bands often sound very different in the studio than when performing live, we caught one of their live gigs up in Columbia, MD before deciding to book them. We were blown away -- they sounded just as good live as they did in their online demos. Dozens of our guests commented on how awesome these guys were at our wedding. They had almost all of our guests up and on the dance floor, even the people who don't normally dance. At the end of the night, we didn't want the party to stop. Our ceremony went a little longer than we had planned, so the band played almost non-stop for the last 2.5 hours of our reception. Best of all, the band totally rocked our request for a special first-dance song. We danced to a slow, acoustic version of Huey Lewis's "The Power of Love" that the band came up with in the weeks before the wedding. After a couple of minutes, as we had requested, they segued into the full, electric version of the song (yes, from Back to the Future) and we called our guests onto the dance floor. The band was great to work with ahead of our wedding to come up with something special for us. Now I just need to find an excuse to throw another huge party and hire these guys again.

We went through a long and painful process of looking for a wedding band, and after eliminating many that were way too expensive or just sounded terrible in their demo videos, we stumbled upon the Real Geniuses. As far as 80's cover bands go, these guys are the real deal and they not only nail all the songs but have great energy and really engaged with our guests. We learned a rhumba for our first dance to "In My Life" by the Beatles, and we were a bit nervous that they would play it at a different tempo or a different way than the recording, which is what we had been practicing to, but after speaking to the band leader, they specifically checked the tempo and played it just the way we had been practicing, so we nailed our dance!   When my wife (then fiancée) and I were wedding planning, we knew we wanted a band (read: no DJ). We put great thought into the type of experience we wanted our guests to have, i.e. lots of fun with zero cheese factor. My wife and I have different musical tastes but we agreed on one thing -- we both love 80's music, especially New Wave! I knew of the RGs and after seeing some of their online videos I was sold. In fact, we even rescheduled our wedding date (this was very early on) just so we could book the band.
  
  The RGs did not disappoint, and I can't say enough good things about them. We had a very nice wedding reception at the Peabody Library in Baltimore (2007), and the RGs put it over the top. They were a HUGE hit and everybody loved them. Two years later, we're still getting comments about how much fun our guests had and how great the band was.
  
  The RGs were consummate professionals. They were extremely easy to work with and very accommodating. They learned a special song at my request, and they even granted an extra special favor, allowing me to sit in with the band for a few songs as a surprise to my wife. They are very experienced musicians and know intuitively how to make your wedding rock -- in a way that even your 85-year old grandpa will appreciate.

  When our original wedding band canceled, the Real Geniuses swooped in and saved the day. I wasn’t sure if they would really be to my taste as, too be frank, I found their promo videos to be a bit cheesy but they really delivered. All of our guests really enjoyed them as they played a variety of crowd pleasers from old school to Top 20. That being said, they were a bit inflexible. They don’t play ceremonies or cocktail hours (even though they were set up where our cocktail hour was). They will play songs off an iPod for you in that time if you’d like. Also, they will only learn one song that is not on their playlist, given enough time (since our hiring of them was last minute, they were not able to learn a song for us). So if you want a song for your first dance, father/Bride dance, mother/groom dance, etc. that is not on their list they will also play that off an iPod.   When our original wedding band canceled, the Real Geniuses swooped in and saved the day. I wasn’t sure if they would really be to my taste as, too be frank, I found their promo videos to be a bit cheesy but they really delivered. All of our guests really enjoyed them as they played a variety of crowd pleasers from old school to Top 20. That being said, they were a bit inflexible. They don’t play ceremonies or cocktail hours (even though they were set up where our cocktail hour was). They will play songs off an iPod for you in that time if you’d like. Also, they will only learn one song that is not on their playlist, given enough time (since our hiring of them was last minute, they were not able to learn a song for us). So if you want a song for your first dance, father/Bride dance, mother/groom dance, etc. that is not on their list they will also play that off an iPod.
