I don’t even know where to begin with how amazingly talented Khara is! When choosing someone for hair and make-up for my wedding day, I was honestly very nervous, because I have been in weddings and haven’t had the most wonderful experiences, but with Khara, this was NOT the case. From the moment I walked into the salon for my trial, I knew I made the right choice. Khara put me right at ease by just listening to my vision for the wedding day and discussing what would look best. Khara did exactly what I wanted and made sure I had pictures, so I could think about changes I’d possibly want. After the trial, hair and make-up were hardly a thought until the wedding day, because I knew I was in good hands. On the wedding day, both Khara and her sister were so wonderful to work with. Their calm personalities will put you right at ease on your special day. Each and every one of my girls had perfect hair and beautiful make-up. As each girl finished getting their hair done, we all just so impressed with how amazing it looked! For my hair, I did request a couple of adjustments, and Khara made it even more perfect than I could have imagined. My make-up was just what I wanted, enough to show I had make-up on, but still very natural. If you are looking to wear fake eyelashes, Khara will make it seem like they all natural!! All of our hair stayed completely perfect all day. One of my bridesmaids even slept in her hair and when she woke up, it still looked beautiful! Khara is a truly a talented hair and make-up artist and I would highly recommend her for anyone’s special day! -

I was so incredibly fortunate to find Khara on the preferred vendors list for our wedding venue. I could tell right away from her photos that she was incredibly talented in hair and makeup. I quickly scheduled a trial and immediately felt at ease. Khara is not only extremly skilled, but you quickly feel like you're talking to a close friend while in the chair. After the trial I knew I had found my main lady for the big day! Not only did I need services for myself, but I also needed hair and makeup for 9 bridesmaids, 4 moms/grandma, and a flower girl! Khara and her team exceeded all expectations on our wedding day! My makeup was flawless, AND not overly done which was a concern of mine and my husband's. My hair was in an updo and stayed in place THE ENTIRE WEDDING. I had multiple bridesmaids tell me that they absolutely loved their services. One bridesmaid said that she liked her hair and makeup better than what she had done on her own wedding day! It wasn't easy planning a wedding from 2 hours away, but I am so beyond grateful to have chosen Khara. I highly recommend her and her team for all of your beauty needs. There is no one else I'd rather have glam me up on such a monumental day, Khara, I can't thank you enough. ❤️ -

I'm so glad I went with The Pretty Collective for my wedding hair and makeup! Khara and Kayla did an amazing job on everyone. I don't normally wear much makeup, so I didn't want it to be too overpowering. I was really happy with how natural my makeup looked - it made me feel like the best version of myself. My hair looked beautiful and held up really well, even after being rained on and dancing. The bridesmaids and mothers also looked fantastic, and everyone was super happy with their hair and makeup. On top of being talented artists, Khara and Kayla are both lovely people. Their fun, positive, and calming energy really helped ease my wedding day jitters. I can’t recommend them enough!! -

I first met Khara and Alex at my sister’s wedding, and we all fell in love with their talent and ✨immaculate vibes✨. So when it was my turn to get married, there was no question - I had to have them on our wedding team!
From day one, Khara answered all of my questions with grace and even de-escalated a few of my ✨bridal spirals✨ when I needed some clarity during wedding planning. She was more than willing to help with more than just hair and makeup leading up to our big day!
Not only did they go above and beyond traveling to our venue, but they handled everything like the pros that they are when life threw a curveball and I came down with a wedding week stomach bug (classic, right?) They helped adjust the timeline with grace, rolled with the changes, and still managed to make 11 of my favorite women and I look and feel absolutely stunning - all in just five hours!
With their talent, it's no surprise that I looked in the mirror and saw a stunning bride staring back at me; but more importantly I saw myself. I can't even put into words how emotional I felt seeing myself with my natural features accentuated in the most beautiful way. I still get teary eyed when I see pics 🥹
They thoughtfully listened to everyone’s preferences. No matter what the individual's comfort level with makeup, Khara made sure every person felt comfortable, confident, and still like themselves. We also had quite a wide range of hair types and lengths - curly, straight, fine, thick, short, long - and Alex handled each one with ease. Everyone felt like a million bucks, and no one looked or felt overdone. Hair and makeup held up through sweat, dancing, and many MANY happy tears.

Best makeup ever
Khara did the most AMAZING makeup for me as the bride, my 5 bridesmaids, my mom and mother in law. She was such a calming presence throughout the entire morning and made us all feel so at ease. Everyone at the wedding commented on how natural and beautiful we all looked. I am still obsessed with how good we all looked in our BTS photos and CANNOT wait to see our professional photos. I would recommend Khara and The Pretty Collective to anyone looking for professional makeup with the added bonus of having the kindest person alive be in charge. -

I hired Khara and co to do my wedding hair and makeup after I was impressed with her at my sister-in-laws wedding several years ago. As expected, everything was flawless. The team works efficiently and adhered to their estimated timeline. I had an array of bridesmaids, some who wear no makeup ever (me) and some who are very particular. Nonetheless, everyone was not only happy, but impressed with their hair and makeup. I'll never stop recommending this team. Khara was wonderful to work with! During our trial she paid attention and really took the time to create a look that we both were comfortable with. She was able to enhance our makeup from normal everyday to something special without taking away what made us feel like us.
When it came the day of the wedding Khara and her assistant Kayla were on time and were able to get 10 of us ready for the wedding! Every single one of our bridesmaids looked like themselves. Khara and Kayla were able to bring out the personality of each of us through hair and makeup. They had such a fun and calming presence the morning of our wedding. Honestly we could not recommend Khara enough! -

One of the things I had the most trouble finding and deciding on when planning for my wedding was my makeup and hairstylist for the day, and I am SO glad I found Khara on Wedding Wire! Working with her was such a wonderful experience; not only does she do beautiful hair and makeup, but she is also so kind, gentle, and genuine. She made me feel beautiful throughout the whole process, not just when my makeup and hair was done! My family, bridesmaids, and I all thoroughly enjoyed working with both her and her sister. Khara did the most incredible work for me and my bridesmaids on the day of our wedding. Her makeup technique was so flawless, and not only did she accentuate each girl's individual beauty, but she helped make sure the looks were coordinated and would work with the lighting. I've quite literally never felt so beautiful in my life with my Charlotte Tilbury-style makeup and glowy complexion. She brought my ideal hairstyle to life. That's just the artistic side of things. Throughout the process, she was incredibly communicative, professional, and really timely. Because I lived out of state and wasn't able to make it for a trial, we discussed in depth about the kind of look I wanted on the day of. If you were to find yourself in the same position, just trust her! She really is a pro. I'd recommend Khara over and over again. -

Our wedding was October 9th, 2022 and we planned since our engagement in the fall of 2020. It was a long planning process and I couldn’t be happier with all my vendors. Khara did my makeup, my bridesmaids’, and my mom’s for our wedding day. 8 of us total with a tighter timeline to be ready for pictures, and she even did some makeup on my little sister free of charge just because. She felt really special. Khara knocked it out of the park and without an assistant! We were all done early and could relax- but she didn’t rush and everyone looked and felt absolutely beautiful. Not only that, but the makeup held up all day and night. I quite literally sobbed multiple times (was missing my dad on my wedding day, my brothers walked me down the aisle, and all the other wedding day emotions too… like when my husband bawled like a baby seeing me for the first time haha) and you couldn’t even tell I cried! I must say… I was a picky, perfectionistic bride especially with makeup, and I was anxious because this was my first time having it done professionally and for something so important. Khara understood that and comforted my every worry through the trial and on the wedding day. She also did my makeup again for my rehearsal dinner on a day when she was crunched for time and it looked awesome. She adjusted things when needed, was so reassuring, and answered every question I ever had. She kept in touch, was always on time, and helped in any way she could. She also had such a cool, calm, collected attitude and that presence on the morning of the wedding was so nice. It was amazing! Khara has a “enhance your natural beauty” approach which I feel is hard to find these days. I can’t even tell you how many compliments I got on how beautiful I looked and the PICTURES!… they are stunning and the makeup was perfect for that. I felt the most gorgeous ever and I’m so thankful to have had Khara be a part of our day. Book her and you won’t regret it! I’ll be back for any special occasion ever! Thank you Khara! Khara and her team did an amazing job with our bridal party glam for my wedding day! She was super communicative, professional, and was flexible with my schedule (being that I'm not local) to get a time that worked for my hair trial. Khara isn't just an amazing artist, she's a good person. I had been looking for months trying to find makeup and hair for our wedding and when I spoke with Khara on the phone I knew she was the best fit. I think all brides have to feel a little bit of stress planning their wedding and Khara made me feel so comfortable from the moment of our first phone conversation. Our trial was so fun - I'd recommend bringing someone in your party and bringing snacks and wine! The day of the wedding, I of course wanted something a little different for my hair because I wanted more of it down in the front since I have long hair. She figured out exactly what to do on the day of the wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. My makeup and hair stayed amazing throughout the day and night so much that even guests didn't notice my husband and I jumped in a pool during our send off. -

I truly cannot say enough good things about Khara- look no further than her for your wedding day beauty needs! Finding someone to do my hair and makeup for my wedding was something I was pretty worried about, but Khara made me feel so comfortable and like I was in such good hands. I don’t typically wear much makeup, so was concerned I wouldn’t look like myself on my wedding day, and I have fine straight hair that doesn’t really do much, but Khara succeeded in making my vision for how I would look become reality. She truly made me feel more beautiful than I ever thought possible, all while still looking completely like myself. I have never felt so confident and I seriously owe that to Khara’s expertise. She is also the sweetest person and was such a calming and positive presence the morning of our wedding. All of my bridesmaids loved having her there. She handled doing hair and makeup for me and my sister and hair for my other three bridesmaids and finished early and everyone looked and felt beautiful! I would choose her again in a heartbeat! -

Khara was absolutely amazing not only on the day of my wedding, but leading up to my big day as well. After not feeling 100% confident with my first trial, Khara made time for me to come back for a second trial. After continuing to try updo styles which I had always envisioned, and not finding what I liked best, Khara helped me find a completely different style that I absolutely loved. Even though I was very stressed trying to find the perfect look that best suited me, Khara helped me to stay calm and was very reassuring and professional throughout the entire process. On the day of the wedding, Khara and her sister absolutely killed it! I went in to my day completely relaxed and stress free and totally relied on Khara to do her thing. Khara made me feel so comfortable and helped me look and feel like the best version of myself! There were 10 of us total who got both hair and makeup and they made sure to get everyone done in time and listened to exactly what everyone wanted. Finding a hair and makeup vendor was probably one of the most tricky vendors for me to find - simply because it is such a personal experience and really can make or break the day depending if you feel sexy, happy, and beautiful in your skin! I just need to say that Khara GETS that and she is so empathic to your needs and wants to make sure you are 110% comfortable with her and that your girls are comfortable. She will use her superhuman makeup powers to bring out your natural beauty and make you feel like you are the queen of the freakin' universe!
Two days before my wedding day, I made the horrific mistake of getting my eyebrows waxed and not thinking anything of it because I had done it a million times - however, this particular time something went wrong and the skin right in the center of my brows -- literally the middle of my face -- was burned off. I looked like Harry Potter and to make myself not cry I went around joking that I was Harriet Potter. I was terrified Khara wasn't going to be able to cover it but she worked her magic and I have photographic evidence below that you could not even tell I had a huge oozing scab on my face during the wedding. That situation alone literally makes me owe my life to this dear woman... She's incredible.
In addition to this, she's very reasonably priced, very communicative, and very organized. Before the wedding, I really enjoyed chatting with her and hearing her recommendations based on the vision I had for my look. My girls loved her sister as well who came along to help get everyone ready for the day. Khara and her sister Brittany both have years of experience and they really know the best products to use for different skin and hair types!
I highly recommend Khara to every bride and her bridal party -- you will love her just as much as we did!

I can't recommend Khara enough. Not only is she just a pleasant and fun person to work with, she's super talented and she knows her stuff. For my trial, I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted and she just truly brought it to life. She did hair & makeup for me, my 3 girls and just makeup for both of the mothers - everyone was so pleased! Even the moms who were a little worried about having their makeup done were so happy with how it turned out. With Khara, I didn't have to worry about anything. She even accepts Venmo, which made payment so easy. Hire Khara - you won't regret it :) -

She is the best in every way possible!
I used Khara for makeup on my wedding day in November, 2019. She was wonderful from start to finish! She did my entire bridal party and also my mom and mother in law. She was patient and really listened in our meetings before the big day and you could tell she heard me. My makeup was literally perfect and lasted for hours. It was everything I wanted and more. WOW! We were completely blown away by how great Khara and her team is. I am someone who is hesitant to get their makeup done for the fact that I don’t typically wear a ton of makeup and I don’t want to look like someone I’m not. Let me tell you, Khara is the BEST at emphasizing your natural features and believes in “less is more” when it comes to wedding makeup. She made me and my bridesmaids look absolutely beautiful and my bridesmaids kept asking me where I found someone as great as Beauty by Khara. After the wedding, my now husband (who has never complimented my makeup before or even typically notices that kind of stuff) said that my makeup and hair looked awesome and he was so happy that I still looked like myself. It was so nice to get ready at the venue with Khara and she is such a relaxing presence on the most nerve wracking day of your life. Khara is wonderful. Not only is she an amazingly talented hair and makeup artist, she was the calming presence I needed while we were getting ready for the wedding. She took care of everyone's beauty needs throughout the morning, and navigated two different getting ready venues without batting an eye. Khara was amazingly responsive, flexible, and made sure all of us were comfortable throughout the getting ready process. She even tolerated my random PowerPoint breakdowns of hair and makeup ideas when things got crazy and my calendar couldn't fit in a consultation with Khara pre-wedding.
But there's one thing that really stands out to me above how Khara made me look and feel - and that's how she made my Mom look and feel.
My mother was not originally scheduled to get makeup done, but about halfway into putting on her own makeup, I found her staring into the mirror in the bathroom, flustered and frustrated. Khara made last minute adjustments and got my Mom into the makeup chair. She made her feel confident and beautiful, and boosted her up when she really needed a lift. Khara, my mom is one of the most important people in my life, and I can't thank you enough for making her feel beautiful.
On a scale of 1 to 10, Khara is an 11. Thank you, thank you, thank you Khara! I can't wait to share pictures! -

I was married in Lancaster, PA which is approximately 3 hours from where I live. It is for this reason that I was initially worried about who I would find to do my hair for my wedding- when you are traveling from a distance, you really have to be able to TRUST the people that you work with. And once I met Khara, I knew I had found just that person. Khara is that super-talented-and- professional yet friendly-and-accommodating artist that everyone hopes to have when they need to look their best. I felt completely at ease with Khara and am still in awe of her ability to look at a picture of a style and then bring that to life. Absolutely perfect! -

Marielena Sent on 08/17/2018I cannot picture anyone else doing my makeup for my special day. I had trouble finding a makeup artist for my wedding because it was being held in a town I do not even live in, so I searched for a while. I stumbled across her work online and fell in love. I contacted her and she told me she had availability for my wedding day, and was able to schedule my makeup trial soon after our phone conversation. This was great because I had a little over a month left until the wedding and I felt like time was running short. Khara was flexible with scheduling, travels to you, and is friendly and very easy to get along with. I also thought she was pretty funny, which made everything so much more fun! Most importantly, she KNOWS HER MAKEUP. I told her I had issues with finding foundation to match my skin tone in the past, and she spoke about things like oxidation once makeup reacts with your face's natural chemistry, showing that she's an expert in this field. Her knowledge about this put me at ease and reassured me that I wouldn't go from a beautiful bronzed queen to "what the?" once a few minutes passed by, which had happened to me in the past when getting makeup matched at beauty stores. My make up was so pretty and sparkly like I wanted, and it lasted all night on my naturally oily skin. She created a custom, berry-colored tint for my lips which I LOVED! My mom also loved the makeup Khara did for her, which says a lot because my mom can be picky! Makeup: 10/10.
Also, Khara took on the challenge of doing my hair on my wedding day. I am of Central American descent so I have very thick and heavy hair all the way down to my hips. Khara managed to put all my hair into a low bun with side-swept bangs. The bun was so pretty, and even survived a cake fight with my husband after the cake-cutting. She took her time putting all my hair into that beautiful bun and she had so much patience working with my layered hair. I would definitely hire her again! -

We met once to do a trial makeup and hair run. She was patient, listened to me, and adjusted her touch accordingly. She made sure I was happy with the final outcome and took notes on everything to save time on the wedding day. Between our meeting and the wedding day, I decided to change a few things and she was always responsive, kind, and professional in communicating about the changes.
On the wedding day, she arrived early (every bride's dream!) and was just as kind and calm as the first day when we met. I appreciated her calmness, kindness, and professionalism. We decided to make a last minute change to my hairstyle and once again, she listened to me and my feedback and she NAILED IT! She helped make my day special, relaxing, and BEAUTIFUL!!!! I highly recommend working with Khara-I can't recommend her enough!!

From the first email to the makeup trial session to my wedding day, Khara was kind, accommodating, and professional. Her prices were by far superior to many other MUA in the area, and she delivered such a beautiful, natural finished look. One of my favorite things about Khara was her honest opinion and expertise -- she helped me achieve the wedding look I wanted, while offering helpful advice and explanations about why she thought certain styles/products would work better for me than others. My mom and I loved working with Khara, and would highly recommend her to other brides looking for an awesome, affordable MUA!

Khara also did a beautiful trial for me in May 2017 prior to my engagement pictures. She really took the time to listen to what type of look I was going for and was open to all suggestions. She does BEAUTIFUL work and is extremely knowledgeable and professional. She and her sister/assistant make-up artist, Brittany, finished the make-up for all five of my bridesmaids, me, and two mothers in less than four hours. She is fun, creative, gorgeous, and has been a pleasure to work with. I love that she comes on-site to do the make-up and she brings quite a set-up of professional items, including a fancy chair and lighting. My girls LOVED her as well, were very happy with their make-up looks, and many wedding guests commented to me how gorgeous my bridal party was! I’m already trying to come up with a reason to get my make-up done by her again! I can’t say enough great things about this lovely woman and her fantastic business!

Amber Sent on 10/20/2017AMAZING!!! This was the one service I really wanted to make sure was perfect - since the day is sooo long and the photos last forever! From the first phone call to her coming to my house for a trial run, Khara was utter perfection! I showed her photos and shared ideas of how looks I loved. She explained makeup ( felt like I got a lesson for free) and went step by step. Come wedding day, her and her staff were so professional and right on time. During my makeup she gave me a little pep talk for the day! Let me tell you!! We got makeup done at 10-11am ish and I danced and sweated on the dance floor at the reception til 12:30am.. not one spot of makeup rubbed off or looked messy. it stayed perfect the entire day. She was more than willing to drive almost 2 hours to my house multiple times for my trials and engagement photo make up. I usually don't wear a lot of make up so I was a little hesitant on what I would look like. But she made me feel so comfortable and it looked so natural! On my wedding day, she arrived and finished early so I had no stress at all about my hair or make up being done on time. My mom, who has had the same hairstyle forever, LOVED her hair and makeup and would not stop raving about how amazing Khara is. She is willing to go out of her way to make sure you love your look! Look no further if you need a hair and make up artist. Khara is the way to go! -

Jenna Sent on 06/25/2016Khara was such a wonderful and very accommodating traveling make-up artist for my best friends wedding. I contacted her through email and I always had a response in a reasonable amount of time. She was super sweet and really brought out everyone's natural beauty first and foremost. She did a fantastic job on our bride and us three bridesmaids. Our make-up lasted from 11 in the afternoon until 9-10 at night. I couldn't be more happy with the results that I already recommended her to my other friends getting married. She's is really reasonably priced for her quality of work. She will make you feel fully confident and beautiful to walk down that aisle on your special day. Couldn't thank her enough :)

Marlene Sent on 09/14/2011All I can I say is that Khara is absolutely wonderful, talented, professional and a pleasure to have her be a part of our wedding. I love Khara!! Who can say that about their make up artist? I DO! I DO!!! She helped me plan out my engagement pictures hair and make up and hair and make up for our wedding day. She was so sweet and helpful, affordable and she is so good!! We got married in at the end of August and she came to us to the venue so we could have fresh make up and perfect hair for the wedding. She helped me get dressed and she even helped steam my veil....YEP!! she did!! She is absolutely beautiful inside and out and a wonderful calming person to have around you on that crazy stressful day. I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful and talented she is.
