The Preston Barn and its amazing staff — especially Helene — were absolutely phenomenal! The photos online don’t do this place justice; it’s even more breathtaking in person. From our very first visit, we were completely blown away and booked it immediately. Our wedding went perfectly thanks to the detailed organization and care of the entire team. I’d highly recommend this venue to anyone seeking a serene, nature-filled, and beautifully maintained location. -

We could not have imagined a more beautiful venue to fulfill our elevated rustic wedding vision. The barn and stone patio are stunning, and the on-site accomodations were not only beautiful, but beyond convenient for us and our guests!
The food throughout the whole weekend was delicious – from the rehearsal dinner in the Tap Room, and the breakfasts in the Inn, to the cocktail hour hors d'oeuvres, and plated dinner on the big day. We still have guests complimenting the food over two months later!
Lastly, the staff are just wonderful to work with, and strive to make the whole process as stress-free as possible. Our experience really would not have been the same without them. Thank you again to everyone at Old Drovers and The Preston Barn (especially Jeff, Helene, Donna, Randy, and Maria) for an unforgettable weekend!

I loved getting married at Preston Barn! The venue was beautiful and rustic but still very professional. Helene, the venue coordinator, was absolutely amazing to work with. We asked for a lot of random items that Helene let us borrow (like reserved signs, seating chart mirror, candles, card box etc.) They were so on top of it, if anything went wrong I had no idea. The food was sooo delicious too! I loved staying on site, we had our families and the bridesmaids and groomsmen stay as well which was really nice. It was really charming and breakfast was so easy! I would 10/10 recommend! -

We could not have asked for a more perfect venue than The Preston Barn for our wedding day. From the moment we first visited, we knew it was something special. The setting is stunning—charming, rustic elegance surrounded by natural beauty—and it created the exact atmosphere we had dreamed of for our celebration.
What truly made the experience exceptional, though, was working with Helene, the wedding coordinator. Helene was an absolute gem from start to finish. She is incredibly organized, responsive, and genuinely invested in making sure every detail is flawless. Her calm presence and deep experience made the planning process feel manageable, even enjoyable—something we didn't think was possible with all the moving parts involved in a wedding!
On the day itself, Helene was everywhere she needed to be, making sure everything flowed smoothly behind the scenes. Thanks to her, we were able to be fully present and enjoy every moment without stress. She coordinated seamlessly with our vendors and went above and beyond to make sure everything looked beautiful and ran on time.
Our guests were blown away by the charm of the barn, the thoughtful layout, and the overall flow of the event—all of which we credit to Helene and the wonderful team at The Preston Barn. We truly can't recommend this venue and Helene highly enough. If you're lucky enough to book your wedding here, you are in the best hands!

August Wedding
We had our August wedding at The Preston Barn and it was absolutely a PERFECT day!!!
From the beginning stages of planning to the morning after brunch. The staff went above and beyond to make our entire weekend seamless!
Our guests are still raving about the food, and complementing the venue itself!
The Grounds are breathtaking, the barn has the perfect rustic and romantic feel.
We couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend The Preston Barn to any couple looking for a magical day. -

Baby Shower at Preston Barn
Booking here was honestly the best. I was so happy the day of my shower. The food was incredible, the service was wonderful and the aesthetics were unmatched. It was so beautifully rustic and exactly what I was looking for. The menu was such a unique menu and everything was served perfectly. The price was incredibly reasonable for everything that we got. I highly recommend the Preston Barn. -

The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn had everything we wanted in a venue. It has a lot of historic charm and a rustic feel while also being very well kept up and accessible for older family members and guests with mobility challenges. The wedding weekend package also includes a lot of the services you need to run an event reducing the burden of having to coordinate with a lot of external vendors for basic things like tables, linens, catering, etc. The real differentiator with Preston Barn is the staff. Helene was our coordinator for the day and was so incredibly helpful in the months leading up to the wedding and during the whole weekend. She went above and beyond by doing things like coming to check on me while I was getting my hair and makeup done to show me a picture of the welcome table and cheating chart display to make sure it looked like I had imagined it would. She was present during the first look and family photos and took "back up" photos as the photographer was shooting to make sure we had some images available to show family, friends, and coworkers in the days immediately following the wedding. The rest of the staff was also wonderful. The kindest gentleman was with us the whole afternoon while we were taking pictures before the ceremony and made sure we had water and were comfortable. I also learned afterwards that during the reception he offered to heat up one of my maids of honors meals for her as it had gotten cold while she was pulled in a 100 directions for various things. It was overall a wonderful experience and I would recommend Preston Bard to anyone looking for a venue that brings thoughtfulness, a personal touch, and great care into the whole experience. -

My husband Greg and I got married at this truly remarkable venue this past November and we cannot stop raving about how much we loved every aspect of this perfect weekend; we're hoping friends get married here so we can experience it all over again as guests!
From our very first meeting with Helene, we felt we were in great hands. She was so communicative and walked us through every step of the overwhelming process and made everything so totally seamless. It was like talking to a family member from the start. She made everyone feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the whole weekend--even looking after our flower girl and holding her up to the barn window to see guests start arriving while we were all hidden away pre-ceremony!
Between the amazing staff who helped us throughout the whole weekend, and the truly one of a kind venue, we had the absolute best possible wedding we could have ever hoped for! It was so special to stay onsite at this historic inn throughout the entire weekend with our friends and family. Everyone is still raving about the incredible quality of the brunches included and the kind innkeeper Jeff who waited on us hand and foot and made us all feel so at home. Speaking of the food quality, we had countless guests tell us that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding and we agree wholeheartedly.
This venue and staff are truly such a hidden gem that any couple would be lucky to experience!

We had our wedding this past September at the old drovers inn / Preston barn and it was a 10/10! My family and friends are still ranting and raving about how amazing eveything was. My sister is getting married next month and her and her future husband are very nervous as to whether they will be able to top ours! I am confident when I say, they won’t be able to!! Helene and the whole crew were incredible! Everyone was so friendly and accommodating to all mine, my friends, and families needs. Everything exceeded our expectations! Helene was so responsive whether it was via phone, email, text she always responded right away! Even the day of the wedding she was always right there when you needed her ! The ceremony was in the back of the barn in a very quiet, nice, rustic, wooded area, cocktail hour on the patio, reception in the barn, after party at the restaurant that was on site, followed by s’mores at the bon fire that kept everyone going into the wee hours of the night / morning! I honestly can’t think of one thing that could have gone better then it did.
Following the event the next day everyone continued to be so kind, patient and helpful when trying to gather all wedding day supplies /decor. It was all sensational ! It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking to have eveything in one area. And whether you are local or from out of town there were plenty of housing accommodations for all! Both on site, and close by!
Highly recommend booking your once in a lifetime
Day at the old drovers inn ! You will not regret it! From the service, to the apps, meals, desserts , it was all amazing! We did a walk up sundae bar for dessert that was a huge hit!
We had a short engagement so when we decided to book the venue Helene hooked us up with the pricing and even threw in some freebies. She was so generous and had everything printed out in the contracts , as far as cost go so there weren’t any surprises !
Definitely reach out to take a look for yourself! You’ll fall in love instantly if you’re looking for that rustic boho chic kind of vibe!! -

The staff really made the day go perfect. Helene was extremely helpful with everything we possibly could've asked and if she didn't know the answer she found out and informed us asap so wed stop stressing out haha.
The staff working that night were amazing. Food was extremely good from what we had.
Jeff the Inn Caretaker was beyond amazing and really went out of his way for us. We honestly couldn't thank him enough.
One of our best decisions and we don't regret anything from this choice. -

The staff on the day of our wedding were incredible. Everyone was very respectful and nice to us and our guests. Helene was absolutely amazing. Always answered our questions in a timely manner and walked us through everything. Price wise, affordable for what we received. All inclusive! Also, Jeff the Inn keeper, goes above and beyond! Really went out of his way to make our stay so homey and comfortable. This was the best decision we made together, besides marrying each other haha. -

When we decided to get re-married (this after 24 years of marriage followed by five years divorced) we wanted it to be at a special place, one that is intimate and cozy. We had been to Old Drovers a few times over the years so we visited to see if they would be interested. From that first conversation we knew we had found the place to start our new life back together. It's such a lovely place, convenient but in the quiet country, and is so warm and welcoming. Jeff (the owner) and Helene (wedding coordinator) could not have been more eager and easy to work with. The rooms are wonderful, the food superb, and you just can't beat the ambiance of an old inn. We rented their gorgeous four bedroom house just down a road for our kids and grandkids, and it was perfect! We had a delicious choice of meals, and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our reception dinner. The service was impeccable, and the entire experience could not have been better. We highly recommend Old Drover Inn to anyone seeking a romantic place to tie (or re-tie!) the knot---or for any other occasion. -

I can't recommend this venue highly enough! We had our daughter's graduation party here in June 2023, and it was the best decision. Helene's event and catering experience is second to none. She can make your dream come true. If you want a stunning location for that country vibe, this is the place for you! Helene and staff were nothing short of amazing on our big day. My husband and I got married on 11/4/23. Helene took so much stress off of me when it came to planning. The food was amazing as well! Oh, and we can't forget the staff and inn keeper! All were so nice and helpful. Everything went so smooth. They made everything work from accommodating allergies to grandparent accessibility to the venue. I would get married there over and over again. -

The Best Wedding we could have ever hoped for!
Helene is absolutely amazing! From the very first tour we took at the Preston Barn, Helene made us feel so at ease and comfortable. She is a big part of what makes the Preston Barn special. It is a gorgeous venue with rustic charm, the wonderful staff made the Preston Barn rise above every other venue we considered. They took care of every detail with thoughtfulness to make the day run smoothly and beautifully! We just celebrated our one year anniversary at Old Drovers Inn. It was perfect! Randy and our waitress both wished us a Happy Anniversary. We are so happy Old Drovers Inn is a place we can always return to celebrate our anniversary. ❤️

I can’t say enough about how happy we are that we chose The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn for our Daughter’s wedding. Helene and her staff were absolutely amazing from beginning to end! Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how much they enjoyed themselves and how attentive the staff were. Helene took charge of everything so we didn’t have to worry about anything! If we thought of something, Helene already had it covered! Chef also did not disappoint! He offered a wide variety of menu options that were absolutely delicious! When you walk into the Preston barn for the first time, it immediately makes you feel like you’re visiting family. It’s so warm and inviting. It’s a beautiful venue. Having the option to also stay on-site at the Old Drovers Inn worked out perfectly for us. Jeff made us feel right at home and was available for anything we needed and the breakfast buffet was amazing! If you’re looking for a venue for a special celebration, I highly recommend The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn. I guarantee you will not be disappointed! -

For some people, it can be difficult to describe the experience of having their special celebration at the famous Preston Barn at Old Drover’s Inn. But not for us. We had reserved the Preston Barn for our “Diamond Anniversary” – that took place this September. I wanted to celebrate our 60 years of marriage at this special venue so we could have our family and friends to be with us and make memories for years to come. And we think that this was accomplished. For me, the word grandeur comes to mind. You become surrounded with elegance, with an atmosphere of beautiful arrangements that are perfectly light, resulting in the comfortable settings that you chose. Their excellent sound system was amazing. We had our pictures (that we accumulated over our many years) continuously being shown on their large monitor. Basically a slide show of our life together. This slide show was very well received and enjoyed.
Making and planning our arrangements was easier than we thought. Their staff is very good at understanding and executing everything we would like to have on our special day. From setting up the tables, picking out our colors and all the decorating of the hall itself. The staff made us feel comfortable and at ease. It even became enjoyable and opened a degree of excitement, knowing that our awaited celebration would soon be here.
During our celebration, I found the staff so professional and helpful that it made the evening more enjoyable. The music, the service and the evening could not have been any better. I knew that this evening was going to go by very quickly and it did – but everyone had a great experience and enjoyed the night. It may sound silly, but I would do it all over again – it was that perfect night. For us, having our “Diamond Anniversary” at the Preston Barn was the ultimate experience that we will cherish forever.

We had our wedding at the Preston barn on 9/30/23 and it was absolutely the best decision we made in the entire wedding process. We were completely blown away the first time we visited and we knew it was our dream venue. Helene is so incredible, from the first visit through the wedding day she was so helpful, kind and patient with any questions we had. She really made us feel so special and heard throughout the planning. If I could give Helene 1000 stars I would!
We loved having a full wedding weekend on site and it was so special to have our bridal party and parents stay with us onsite in the Inn and Carriage House. We had our Rehearsal Dinner onsite as well as an after party in the Tavern and Sunday brunch and it was so awesome to celebrate in the same location all weekend. The Inn-Keeper, Jeff, is amazing and so accomodating. He made us feel so welcome!
The food the entire weekend was top tier and we still have guests telling us how good it was! The passed apps at cocktail hour were incredible and the staff even set up a table to the side of our ceremony with all the apps we selected as well as our signature cocktails to enjoy a private toast with our bridal party and parents right after the ceremony before we headed to cocktail hour. We did a family style dinner which we are still getting compliments on because it gave guests the opportunity to try multiple options and connect with one another while passing around the plates.
The dance floor is huge and we had an amazing time dancing the night away with our friends and family. There is also a firepit which we brought s'mores supplies for and guests were able to take a break from dancing and hang out by the fire as they pleased.
The vibe of the whole property is immaculate, from the 18th century Inn to the modern rustic barn, it's just such a cool spot and unique from many of the ballroom weddings we had attended. We absolutely loved planning our wedding here and the venue really brought our vision and dream to life. We highly recommend having your wedding here! -

Helene made my life easier by being on top of everything and giving wonderful advice. She s the most organized event planner I have ever worked with.
The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn is a beautiful and unique place to have an event or wedding. Helene, the event planner is amazing and a delight to work with. She is professional, kind and very knowledgeable when it comes to decorating and table decor, which Helene was a huge help in helping me when it came to those decisions. On the day of your big event, Helene and her co worker Donna, are there to make sure you are relaxed having a good time and that everything is is running smoothly. These two are a dynamic duo! All the staff was wonderful, as was the delicious food that was served.
We also stayed at the Inn, which was lovely and had an spectacular spread of breakfast the next morning. -

Our company has hosted our annual employee award event 2 years in a row at The Preston Barn, and are planning on coming back again next year to celebrate with them for a third! Event planning with staff at The Preston was professional, yet very grounded and laid back. Dover HS Faculty Couple
My husband and I met while both working at Dover High School, which is minutes away from The Preston Barn. We had been to the site before for brunch, happy hour and dinner. After getting engaged, we quickly booked The Preston Barn because of the significance of the location, Dover, has in our relationship and also for the warmth we felt every time we stepped into the rustic, lit up barn. From the stone curved pathway, charming quaint inn, relaxing adirondack chairs and breath taking barn, this was where we wanted to start our forever. Helene, Donna and the rest of the staff at The Preston Barn made us feel special in every way. The toast with our immediate family right after our ceremony was a sweet touch. We appreciated how our cards were handled with care (cellophane wrapped). All of our guests commented on how attentive the staff was, from when we arrived Friday afternoon, to when we left Sunday morning. The staff truly went above and beyond. We spent the weekend without a single worry, knowing everything was taken care of. We will be forever grateful to have gotten married at The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn! -

The Preston Barn at Old Drovers Inn is a hidden gem in the Hudson Valley. The minute we saw this glorious setting, we knew it was for us. The grounds are simply beautiful. Acres of beauty for us to enjoy the ENTIRE wedding weekend. This is the most picturesque of venues and I haven’t even mentioned the barn. The barn was breath taking; beautiful, exposed wood, with a large space making it the perfect space for the reception. What makes this venue so special is that it’s a one stop shop kind of place; we had our rehearsal dinner at the Old Drovers Inn restaurant on site and all the wedding/cocktail food was sourced on site, and let me say, the food was AMAZING. Our guests raved about it for days. Lots of options and customizable too. They were very accommodating to my guests with allergies. Helene and the whole staff was so great to work with. Every question was answered by the patient and attentive staff. They all helped to make our wedding day perfect! Run, don’t walk to book this one of a kind special place for your wedding -

I will be forever grateful that I found the Preston Barn when searching for venues to plan our wedding. It was such a beautiful place to celebrate our wedding. The Preston Barn was the only venue we actually went to see in person (started planning in 2020 so we did a lot of research before going to see a place) and we knew right away that this was our place. Helene was so helpful from initial conversations all the way making sure that the wedding night went smoothly. She was so professional, helpful, and experienced and she put all of my nerves at ease. The food isn't just good as "wedding food", it was SO GOOD. For weeks after the wedding we received positive remarks on how good the meals were. We also were blown away by how beautifully decorated the barn was for our December wedding. I highly suggest contacting and visiting the barn if you are planning a wedding. We truly feel so lucky that we found the Preston Barn because we had the absolute best experience for our wedding. -

We cannot thank Helene and the entire team at Preston Barn enough for everything they did to make our special day so magical! We are overwhelmed with gratitude for an absolutely extraordinary experience! As a same sex couple, my husband and I were beyond thrilled to not only be treated with respect but to also feel fully embraced, included, and supported throughout the entire process. Helene is a phenomenal event and venue coordinator and took special care, time, and attention to make sure that we fully understood all the options that the Preston Barn had to offer and worked with us to craft the perfect wedding weekend! ! First, you cannot ask for a more beautiful venue and setting for a wedding! The Preston Barn does an incredible job of blending together the stunning beauty of its natural setting with the rustic feel of a barn venue all while delivering pure elegance and class from start to finish. The entire planning process, site visits, tastings, and final details were all part of what became a truly meaningful and pleasurable experience. There truly are no words for how incredible the experience was, from the exquisite accommodations as the Old Drovers Inn, Carriage House, Preston House, and Mountain Cabin, to the staff support as we completed final wedding preparations and rehearsals, the absolutely delicious rehearsal dinner handsomely setup in the Federal Dining Room, the amazing opportunity to meet and greet arriving guests at the firepit, the seamless execution of the ceremony and reception, the extremely fun VIP after party in the Tap Room, and the wonderful farewell brunch the day after! What was most important to us as we planned our wedding, was to be able to bring together our beloved family and friends so that we could provide them with a delightful experience while having true quality time together celebrating the beginning of our married journey together, and the Preston Barn more than delivered on that dream! At the end of it all, both of us and our guests were beyond pleased, and the Preston Barn and team will always hold a very special place in our hearts! Great venue for a Bridal Shower--
Hi I hosted my daughter's bridal shower a the venue in May 2022. Had we know about this place before we booked her wedding venue-- I know we have chosen the Preston Barn to hold the wedding! There is space to move around, large barn doors that open up to let in light, all the food ( great and original menu) tables, chairs, linen is included. The staff was fun, didn't rush us and were very helpful. We were allowed into the space ahead of time to personalize the space , which was so helpful. Thank you Preston Barn staff for everything! My advise to readers is go take a tour--- much better then the photos. -

All in one Venue! AMAZING
My husband and I got Married at the Preston Barn on April 30th, 2022 and, let me tell you, it was everything we dreamed of and more. From the rustic/elegant vibes right down to the food, everything was literally amazing. We met with the event coordinator, Helene, about a year and a half before our wedding day and since that first meeting with her she was more than accommodating to every question and every need we had. We had our ceremony outside on the most perfect day. Followed by cocktail hour on the patio and then our reception in the barn and it was all so beautiful. THE FOOD! we still have people that came to our wedding tell us how great the food was and how amazing the wait staff was. We have actually brought our family out to the restaurant a few times before and after our wedding because the food is just THAT good. We also stayed in the Old Drovers in the night before and the night of our wedding and it was perfect. We all got ready there the morning of which made the start of the day so easy. We also rented 2 of the other houses that they have available so that we could have family and friends stay the night of the wedding if they wanted to. Its an all in one package and I would chose them all over again if i had to. My husband and I plan to go back to the restaurant to celebrated out anniversary each year! -

I truly can't put into words how amazing Helene and her team were on our wedding day, and throughout our whole wedding journey! The venue is ever more beautiful than the pictures. The food is fantastic (personal favorites are the meat and cheese board, apricot tarts, short ribs, mac and cheese bites) but that is just the beginning! The team at The Preston Barn, especially Helene, is TOP NOTCH! They were the perfect balance of completely professional, handling our whole wedding weekend with ease and flexibility, and also incredibly thoughtful and personalized. They handled EVERYTHING, which allowed us to be completely in the moment on our day! It was magical!
I also just want to take a moment to mention Helene specifically. She is a POWERHOUSE! From start to finish, she was an invaluable member of our wedding team. She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind and organized. She helped us through the whole process!
Booking The Preston Barn for our wedding day was the BEST decision we could have made. It was the most MAGICAL WEEKEND! I could not recommend it more! -

We don't use this place for weeding, but for a company event.
Definitely, the venue is well located, has a great structure and the support is amazing!
The place is rustic, but with flower decoration, it can surprise you.

Preston Barn is an incredible wedding venue! I don’t know where to start, but we were married there on New Year’s Eve, and everything was beyond our wildest expectations. We held a 50 person, indoor wedding and had everything in the barn- the ceremony, reception, dinner, dancing, you name it- and the barn was able to hold everything beautifully, and the space felt so special and different for each part of the day. Every step of the process was seamless, and was aided by their incredible in house planner, Helene. She is very attentive, calm and creative, and always makes you feel supported throughout the process. We also hired a wedding planner to help with planning on our end, and they worked together amazingly and helped pull together the best day ever.
The venue also has everything you need- beautiful tables, chairs, tableware, etc., which takes a ton of stress off, and also helps you create the day you want without having to bring in lots of outside odds and ends (and helps with budget!). The food was also amazing, and our guests are still talking about everything, including the passed appetizers! In additional to loving the barn, we also were excited to choose the venue because of the Drover’s Inn- not only because of the beautiful building (and countless photo opps inside and outside), but also it was amazing to have 20+ guests essentially on site with us in the Inn and the other building on site- the rooms are charming and very comfortable, and I’m still dreaming about the breakfast they served in the mornings. We also fell in love with the venue knowing that we could host the rehearsal at the restaurant at the Drover’s Inn, and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, and the venue was intimate, cozy, and beautiful. And the excellent service continued even after the wedding- the day after the event, Helene was there to make sure the cleanup went smoothly and helped donate items that we no longer needed to a local woman’s shelter. And to say nothing of the amazing drinks and attentive service of Randy and his staff! It was a magical weekend and they made us feel like family, and we can’t wait to go back and celebrate each year for our anniversary!
My advice would be to get married at the Preston Barn (no question!), and a few weeks before the big day, when you are in the height of the wedding planning stress, go have dinner at the Inn, enjoy the beauty of the venue, chat with the amazing staff, have an A+ drink from Randy, and remember that they have everything taken care of!

From Wedding Dreams to Reality
My husband and I recently had our wedding reception at Preston Barn. We highly recommend this venue as the setting was beautiful, the food delicious, and the staff was friendly, courteous and very attentive to service and detail. Lauren and Helene truly listened to our vision for the reception and made every last detail happen, even being open to trying new decor for the venue. Most important, they were timely in their response to our emails and if they needed to find out information, they were quick to get back to us. July 20, 2019 was 96 degrees but you would never have known it inside the barn! Thanks to Preston Barn's wonderful employees they were polite and enthusiastic to be sure we had the night of our dreams. I would highly recommend this beautiful venue. -

We had a magical wedding night at ODI. The forest is stunning for pics, old Inn is charming, balcony at bridal suite perfect for hair & makeup, house across the street accommodating for bridal party, food great, barn fantastic for our party. A logistical hiccup with accidentally locked room during the ceremony, but generally weekend-of staff was accommodating and helpful. My wedding planner (separate and not affiliated with ODI) was not very friendly to my vendors, so the staff being sweet was a welcome contrast.
Be sure to communicate your needs clearly and confirm. Was nice to have the full weekend there for rehearsal and final checks the night before. Wish they were a bit more flexible with timing to get refund for guests that had to cancel (30 days a bit too long). Fire was a nice touch for my guests, cocktail hour food was good, bar was fun (so I hear, I was too busy bride-ing...). Stone Church hike a couple of miles away is a lovely romantic bonus, and town hall for our marriage license is quaint and friendly.

Best Wedding Ever
We live in the same town, although the Preston Barn was too large for my needs, the Bison barn fit the bill. Much more affordable too. The staff was amazing the day of. We built our own arbor, they were great in setting it up for our wedding. There is construction going on and they were excellent about moving all the heavy equipment. All of my guest truly enjoyed themselves! -
