    Highly recommend!

    The entire Point Team was a dream to work with.

    From the beginning, the team was responsive, friendly, and helpful. They spent tons of time helping me plan every single detail. I live in Los Angeles and had zero issues with long-distance planning. I also planned the wedding in a relatively short timeline, but the team made it easy.

    On the day, the team went above and beyond to make sure everything went perfectly. All of my guests were raving about the staff. I had a slight hiccup with another vendor, but The Point team sprung into action and made sure everything was figured out. The day of coordinator kept me on schedule and executed my wedding timeline to a tee.

    The venue is gorgeous and very San Diego. We loved the view during the ceremony on the lawn. My guests liked that they could walk a short distance to enjoy the reception. My guests also enjoyed the garden. Even though it was a chilly night, the fire pits and heaters made it warm enough for them to enjoy the games, talk, and hang out.

    Fabulous Venue & Experience

    The Point was the perfect venue for our wedding! Not only is the space both beautiful and fun, Kiana, Jasleen, and the team were incredibly helpful throughout the entire planning process, taking time to understand our vision and providing exceptional input and guidance along the way. I loved how supportive, responsive, and practical they were in answering all of our questions. We were looking to do many things ourselves from decorations to DJing to finding our own vendors and they made it easy to do so. It was incredibly helpful that they have all the chairs, tables, sound system(s), games, and outdoor seating included. The tables are beautiful and don't require linens. There were so many details already taken of by The Point that we could just focus on the fun parts of designing the event and planning the details we cared most about.

    On the day of the wedding Gracie, Elizabeth, and Jasleen helped ensure things ran smoothly. As the bride, it was a huge weight off my shoulders knowing that we were in such capable hands. Our friends and family are still raving about the venue and how fun the entire event was. We can't recommend The Point highly enough if you're looking for a beautiful venue, fantastic staff, and a wonderful experience!

    Great Experience

    Having our wedding at the point was a great choice, I have no regrets. I liked how they had an outdoor space for guests to take a break, heat lamps and fire pits ready to keep them cozy.
    The venue rental includes pretty tables and chairs and are fully flexible on the arrangement of everything.
    We had our family and older guests sit for a traditional meal but the other half of guests were set up for a cocktail reception/mixer style with belly bars instead of chairs which allowed us to accommodate more people along with our buffet stations.
    The Point wants to be a a more sustainable wedding option by including screens for digital photos, signage, etc which also saves you money from printing things.
    The ceilings are vaulted which is beautiful and had a cool chandelier piece.
    I hired pipe and drape to be put up around the entire perimeter which added some elegance. The venue allowed indoor cold sparklers which another place we looked at did not but that was one of my favorite features at our wedding.
    The team was really helpful and communicative the entire time!

    There’s another venue right next door on the bay but I’m really glad we went with the Point

    Highly recommend The Point!

    The Point team was so great to work with. Throughout planning and then seeing everything executed on the big day everything was perfect. They were flexible, fun and I would 1000% work with them again.

    Incredible Wedding at The Point

    We had such an incredible time hosting our wedding at The Point, the venue and staff are beyond phenomenal. Everything was offered to us at a reasonable price with the ability of adding any vendor we chose. The full service, venue, location, and outdoor area made our decision incredibly easy. We can't thank them enough for all of their help and support!

    Amazing Wedding on the Bay

    This venue was amazing. We couldn't have found a better location to host our wedding. We had the ceremony outdoors on the bay and it was gorgeous. The reception was held inside the building and it was tastefully decorated. We really enjoyed the back patio space, after our dinner, and so did our guests during the cocktail hour. The on site coordinator, Kim, was a great help to us, as well as our catering vendors. I hope everyone can enjoy this beautiful venue on their special day.

    Absolutely PERFECT day - we are so grateful

    The Point literally gave us the wedding of our dreams! When covid hit, we were so disappointed to have to cancel our wedding plans and had no idea how or when to reschedule them. The Point did an Elopement Package giveaway on Instagram and my wife and I were some of the lucky winners. We will never forget their generosity in a time of worry and uncertainty, and will always recommend them for any type of event. It's a beautiful, dynamic space and the team is dedicated to each event's total success! All we can say is book it - you will not be disappointed. :)

    Wonderful Staff & Beautiful Venue!

    We had an intimate elopement ceremony and reception at The Point and it was amazing!

    There were a lot of people in the area during peak summer hours, but that was not an issue at all. We were easily able to have a secluded ceremony space with the beach as our backdrop. The crowd never bothered or intervened with our event.

    We had our reception at the Bay Room/Garden. The venue was able to provide a few decorations for us and it was really beautiful. Even without decorations I feel the interior design and aesthetic of the room & garden is really breath-taking and worth a look!

    We only had our parents and siblings celebrating with us, but the space is definitely big enough for large crowds. The Point team members (I mostly spoke with Jenna & Krista) were also really amazing, accommodating, and wonderful to work with. They were very responsive (email, phone, etc.) and were so helpful with planning everything. They also have great connections with local vendors.

    I'd definitely recommend this place for any type of major life event - be it a wedding, baby shower, birthday, etc.!

    Excellent Wedding Experience!

    The venue was beautiful and absolutely perfect for our wedding. We could not have asked for better accommodations. Incredible day at an incredible venue.

    the nicest, most flexible, and creative people you'll meet.

    We did everything at the Point: ceremony in the front (Casey - who owns The Point - guided us to get the correct permit), cocktail hour on rented boats (Casey organized it), and reception in The Point. Truly a one-stop shop with the perfect relaxed California vibe.

    Additionally, Casey is one of the best people that I worked with while planning the wedding. She is massively creative, simply understood our vibe, and helped us plan an incredible wedding.

    We had a few unexpected issues during our reception (not related to The Point), and Casey went out of her way to help and accommodate. She's the best and I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for an amazing wedding.

    Good for the DIY-ers

    We are out-of -towners and hosted our destination wedding at The Point in August 2025! In our home city, we had a difficult time finding affordable venues that would allow for outside vendors for food and other necessities. The previous year we traveled to San Diego for the first time for our friend’s wedding. As we began assessing costs for our wedding, we realized there were many affordable venues in San Diego. As a venue, The Point at Mission Bay is perfect for a 100-person guestlist. We loved the sustainability aspects of the venue, the ease of being able to move pieces, already included décor, and adding our own décor. We loved meeting with some of the venue’s staff at the time, Sophia, throughout the year. We were then passed onto another staff member and then passed onto a third staff member the day-of the wedding.
    This staff member, Leigh, was such a gift and a huge help that day. With the package we paid for, we were only able to be at the venue for 8 hours total including setup, ceremony, reception, and tear down. They do allow for an hour walk through the night before, but any décor must be setup day-of. We paid for additional trash clean up at the end of the night and an additional hour. Leigh also provided us even more time at the end of the night. There was plenty to clean up, and even with the catering team of four plus the bride, groom, and a few friends, it took a bit more time to clean up at the end of the night. Leigh tried her best, but she is only one woman. Leigh actually thanked us for being so kind and understanding. It’s disappointing to think many wedding parties may have not been as understanding to the one-human-show staff. I know August is busy season for weddings, but on top of that, there was an event the morning of our wedding at the venue. We asked if Leigh had been there for the morning event as well. She said she had been there since 9a. I do appreciate the venue giving us as much extra time as they could as far as setting up, complimentary, but this venue should spend less time on meetings with the couples and more time and money on staffing the actual event. Staffing of the event should come with the initial presented package. Depending on the volume of the event and extra décor/ vendors, the owner should staff the event appropriately as a part of the base pay package.
    We would recommend only paying for the reception package if this venue is your top choice. We believe the ceremony spaces are San Diego city owned, so if you are looking to save money, file for the permit yourself and have your reception at The Point. At the end of the day, we got what we paid for, but we were expecting a little more support day-of. We did enjoy ourselves, and many of our guests came out describing the day as authentic, sincere, sophisticated, but humble. If that is the style you are going for, The Point is the right place for you!

    Really would not recommend this venue..

    My husband and I had our wedding reception at The Point.
    We had a one hour set up time (4-5pm) before the reception started. Upon arriving, staff was on a call and did not assist or have the floor plan set up for 20-30 minutes (Leaving us only 30-40 minutes to set up a party for 90+ people).

    We used a bartender that was coordinated for us by The Point. However, the bartender was at least 40 minutes late to our reception (Without an explanation or remedy from The Point). For a 4 hour reception with the first hour being a cocktail hour, this was a very frustrating situation.

    I have reached out to The Point about these issues and have not heard back at all.

    Not so good, liars dont make good venue hosts

    Same experience as other reviewers on "The Knot" website. Requested a date over emails, was told it was available and booked a viewing. Went and viewed the location and decided to book the venue for our wedding, but less than 12 hours after the viewing they said our date was taken and sent us a contract with a different date. The whole thing seemed very shady as did the venue. The venue was dirty and rundown and they didn't seem to care it was that way when viewing. Was more disappointed that they lied to us and said the venue was available and then after viewing and wanting to book, told us the date was taken. Even today, almost 5 months later, we called just to check to see if they are shady. Low and behold, they are again telling us the date we originally wanted is miraculously available. They are shady, they lie, and who wants to do business with people who treat and others as so.
