    SO Gorgeous!

We used the Patio as our reception space and honestly, the venue speaks for itself! The ceiling is one of a kind and the space itself made for some awesome pictures. Archmere worked seamlessly with our event planners and allowed us to make our vision come to life. A beautiful space for all occasions!

Everyone was floored by the space!

This space was absolutely dreamy! If you are looking for a historic and beautiful space for your wedding, this is it! We held our reception here with the cocktail hour outside. My husband and I had a room available upstairs to freshen up and have a private cocktail hour. J. Scott Catering is the exclusive caterer here and they were FABULOUS! Rachel from J. Scott also was our liaison with The Patio which made all the planning so much easier! I highly recommend this place!

Not only is the Patio a breathtaking location, but their event coordinator Lisa and her assistance, guidance and personal attention are second to none. We could have never had the wedding we had there without her help. She is genuine and supportive and will help you every step of the way! We LOVED our reception and everyone who attended our wedding is still commenting on how gorgeous the space was! Its worth every penny becuase of the help and support that Lisa provides. Without the help that she provides its just an old mansion.

    A magical venue

My husband and I are from Delaware, but we didn't have any personal ties to Archmere. However, when we saw the Patio in person we were totally blown away. The building is gorgeous inside and out. It's a beautiful setting for pictures. It isn't air conditioned, which made us a little nervous for our wedding at the end of September, but we had a gorgeous 72 degree day. We were able to keep the doors to the patio open and guests could step out onto the patio as needed to cool off and get some fresh air. A friend had told us they had issues with sound echoing at an event they had attended at the Patio in the past, but we worked with a DJ who was familiar with the space and everyone was able to hear the speeches and music well on the day of the wedding. The price for the space itself is on the high side, but J Scott's catering prices (the caterer you have to use at the Patio) are very reasonable, especially since their food is fantastic. Overall, the price averaged out to be comparable or cheaper than the price at other similar venues. You also get access to the whole house with your rental, so our guests, both young and old, had fun exploring the entire old house during cocktail hour and taking a break in the library if they wanted some time away from the music. We had 175 guests, and they fit perfectly in the space. It's nice to be able to seat all your guests in one room, which isn't always possible in venues that are old houses. The Patio at Archmere really helped to make our day perfect - lovely pictures outside the house, and great memories watching our bridal party enter the reception from the balcony overlooking the atrium and dancing the night away under the stained glass ceiling. It's a venue as special as your wedding day.

Venue was perfect - a dream come true! We used the outside patio for the cocktail hour, there was a huge dance floor and a great place to take pictures. Lisa the event planner is phenomenal!!

The Patio at Archmere Academy is the most beautiful wedding venue that I've ever seen, which is why we chose to have our wedding there. The marble, pillars, fountain, stained glass on the ceiling, all make it such an elegant space. Our wedding guests were in awe of the beauty inside the building. There are an endless selection of great photo ops. We booked with them when Toscana was the exclusive caterer, so most of our dealings during the planning process were with Toscana. The interactions I did have with the Archmere staff were all positive, though. They were quick to respond to my questions and tried to accommodate the best they could. The Patio's rental price is a bit high, but you can't find this type of elegance many other places. Since there is no A/C in the building they only have weddings in the Spring & Fall. We were nervous about it getting stuffy in the space, but they had large fans on the upper floor pointing down to the dance floor that really cooled down the room. It's a perfect space for a nice fall wedding!

We had learned about The Patio via a Knottie who simply raved about Liz Brito (then-event coordinator) and the venue. She sent me pictures from her wedding and they were just beautiful! So my husband and I met with Liz and booked our date. Then about four months before the event we learned that Liz quit. And the new event coordinator, Lisa, had the unpleasant job of informing us that The Patio was undergoing renovations, which Liz failed to mention when we booked. So, the grounds were a mess (there's a long lane leading from Philly Pike to the front of the building, where guests entered - the grass was pulled up and there were construction vehicles parked all around, and the air conditioning was unhooked because it was in the process of being moved), but everyone had a good time and remarked on the beauty of the location anyway. Lisa helped us through the grounds issues, going so far as to give me weekly updates on the renovation progress and where she thought things would stand on our actual wedding day. So these ratings suffered only because of previous actions; they would've been considerably lower were it not for Lisa's efforts.
