    Awesome Experience!

    Beautiful venue for a wedding and reception! Gorgeous gardens, large deck area, access to indoor areas of a lovely historic home. At night, the outdoor cafe string lights make for a beautiful ambience. I acted as wedding coordinator for a family member's recent wedding, and Tracy, the venue coordinator for The Old Homestead, was a dream to work with! Super friendly and helpful...having her there during the event was like having a friend there to make sure everything went well. This place is a hidden gem...highly recommend!

    Great location

    We absolutely fell in love with this venue. It has a whimsical garden fe to it. Marla & Tracy we’re great and very responsive. We would definitely recommend to everyone!

    Hidden Gem!

    The old homestead is truly a hidden gem. It is absolutely perfect for an intimate wedding (we had around 40 people) but it can certainly fit a bigger group. This was by far the best value I found when looking for venues and I received endless compliments from guests. If you are even considering this venue just make the jump and book, you wont regret it!

    The Old Homestead is a wonderful, wonderful venue. The house is classic and beautiful but feels totally updated and comfortable (none of the electrical/plumbing/ air conditioning issues I often see working in charming old spaces). The garden is lovely, the space is intimate, but most importantly, the team at the Old Homestead is phenomenal. Keri, Micheal, and Maureen were fantastic to work with, really going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I can't recommend The Old Homestead Highly Enough!

    I was very Pleased with selecting The Old Homestead for my venue. I highly recommend The Old Homestead, the manager was very gracious and accommodating, seriously, I had changed my time often with notice and they accommodated to my request. I would definitely use this venue again and again. Great staff to work with.

    I fell in love with the location while attending my niece's wedding last summer. After 10 years my fiancé and I decided to tie the knot. We looked at other venues out of curiosity, but nothing even came close to The Old Homestead for value, atmosphere, and customer service.
    My initial contact there was Keri, the event coordinator. She is so nice! I love her to death!! She agreed to meet with me at a local coffee shop where she answered all of my questions and literally held my hand and walked me through the entire process every step of the way.
    Maureen, the Event Staff Leader has many years of experience and has organized hundreds of weddings. It was evident on how professional and efficient she was in managing the set up and tear down of the event.
    Although we had our wedding catered by a friend who is the manager of restaurant, Maureen also is a successful caterer should you decide to use her.
    We chose to use the lighting company affiliated with the Old Homestead, they have an optional chandelier that we rented along with the lighting. The results were phenomenal, the lighting really sets the mood and gave it an amazing ambiance.
    We lucked out, I believe we were the second couple to be married at the venue after it had undergone a major facelift. It was beautiful before, but now I can't even describe how simple yet refined the garden is. The ladies from the Carquinez Women's Club really do a great job maintaining the property, their love and passion for gardening couldn't be more evident.
    I can't express the gratitude that I feel for everyone evolved with the Old Homestead. Our wedding was so special, it really was the best day of my life.. like a real life fairy tale. I will remember it for the rest of my life as though it was yesterday.

    We had a beautiful June wedding at The Old Homestead! As a young couple, we were looking for a small venue to accommodate our closest friends and family and The Old Homestead was perfect! We feel in love with the venue right away! The backyard was the perfect little paradise after the new landscaping project was finished and we were lucky enough to benefit from it. The staff was kind, helpful, and hospitable. We couldn't have imagined a better venue! Thank you!

    My wife and I got married at Old Homestead in October 2017. From the moment we reached out to inquire we knew we were in good hands with Kerri and everyone at Old Homestead. Kerri was quick to respond to any questions we had and offered wonderful recommendations for different vendors.

    The week leading up to our wedding we definitely felt the stress but again Kerri and Maureen were very helpful, responsive and professional. On the day of the wedding Michael set up the venue exactly how we asked and was happy to help us.

    To top it all off, the venue is beautiful. The new outdoor design along with the tall redwoods made for a wonderful setting for our wedding.

    We have already recommended the venue to a few friends!

    This place was everything we wanted. The re-landscaping was absolutely gorgeous. I recommend the Old homestead to every bride in the Bay Area. Especially, if they’re not wanting to spend thousands and thousands of dollars.

    The Old Holmestead is AMAZING!It is beautiful and just fantastic. All I really wanted was a beautiful backyard or outdoor wedding and this place really delivers. Angela who runs the the Old Homestead is so friendly and helpful. My wedding was fantastic and everything I dreamed of and the venue could not have been more beautiful. Finding an affordable venue in the bay area is almost impossible but this place really delivers.

    This was the most perfect place to get married! Not to mention affordable. I was able to comfortably seat over 130 guests with room for more. My pictures turned out amazing. This venue is definitely a hidden gem in the cute town of Crockett. The lights in the backyard twinkled while we danced into the night. Angela is the woman I worked with throughout the process. She is easy to get a hold of, and went out of her way to meet with us anytime we wanted to go down there, whether it was to take measurements of the backyard or let us inside the house so we could plan how to decorate. I already received my deposit check back less than a week after the wedding. I hope I can talk my other friends into getting married here because it was THAT perfect! I want a reason to go back! :-)

    We had our wedding ceremony and reception for about 90 guests at this location on 5.31.14. We found this location from another couple that got married there in September 2011 and we fell in love. This location is spectacular! It is rustic... has beautiful trees in the back, a insanely large deck and is maintained beautifully! Angela was super friendly and helpful. The site has several tables (round and rectangular) and chairs that are included in the price! The venue also has a huge parking lot and you will never need to worry about parking. There is no "Bridal Suite" for getting ready, but I was able to have my hair and makeup people meet me there and we made our own room with partitions near the piano and we had no problems with space... that's even with my caterer taking up most of the room for our delicious food. I absolutely loved our wedding venue... and I would highly recommend people giving this awesome historical home a chance to be the site for their wedding day.

    We had our wedding here in June of 2013 and we could have not chosen a better venue! The all outside location was beautiful with all the greenery. What made this place so special was that we were able to totally make our wedding ours. We did our own decorations, and the lady that runs it Angela was truly amazing and we were able to go there as many times as we wanted to figure things out! The price of the venue for the amount of time you get there (all day) is so worth it! I would definitely recommend using this venue for weddings and other events!

    My husband and I had our milestone birthdays last weekend at The Old Homestead. We love that the place is part of local history and that it is run by a local club (Carquinez Women's Club). Keri is the Party Coordinator and she is very responsive and flexible. Since this is run by a small group and is a fairly new party venue, keep in mind that they are working their way through their processes (i.e. payment options, etc.). This can be good (they don't have all the extra fees as an established venue) or bad (previously they did not take electronic payments but now they are working with Venmo and others). Maureen manages the set up; she's a hoot and totally cares about you having the best party!

    Overall, excellent and beautiful outdoor/indoor venue well worth the price!!! EVERY guest of mine commented on the venue and hinted to also using it for upcoming parties!

    Hidden Gem with tons of flexibility!

    Great Hidden Gem! I booked the Old Homestead strictly for the garden! it's beautiful! I also am in the events industry and have a lot of good relationships with vendors.. Being you have to book/design your entire wedding I recommend a wedding planner / team. The venue its self is super flexible and that is another main reason we decided to book... as if a blank slate you can do with what you like!
    Planning team was alright.. Maureen was great! she knew her stuff.. but the accounting / contracting team were hard to get a hold of/ only were available at certain times but when it came to payment.. they would email 5-6 times to all my contacts..

    I opted to pay additional for the Bar and Arch Arbor.. Totally worth it! Also.. you must pay additional to reset the space from ceremony to reception.. they got it done in 30 mins.. WOW. I was impressed! They turned 200 seats into rounds like PRO's.. that was really my only concern and they did it without a hitch.

    I am impressed with their day of crew.. and of course.. having an amazing caterer (Kyle @ the Napa Deli) and rental team (Platinum Rentals) made all the difference.

    LOVE LOVE LOVE the Old Homestead.

    Very poor customer service post event.

    The venue itself is perfect if you are on a budget. Don't like the flagstone path they recently installed, it interferes with some table set up as it is right in the middle of a large grassy area and I had several guests trip in the darkness one twisted her ankle and was out the rest of the evening....they do not allow you to use the sink to rinse any rental dishes, you can only use the oven to reheat, cannot use the stove period...this also applies to any caterer as well... so beware. This is a historical landmark and the Women's Club is non profit so the rental of this venue is a tax write off but getting any paperwork for it is next to impossible. We have been trying since November it is now almost February and still nothing... we have left several emails and voice mails for Keri (who is the worst at responding except when she wants something from you...like the money), have texted Michael who had responded earlier when we were trying to track down our deposit...but not lately.

    No contact at all!

    I love the venue, my husband and I used it because one of close friends also got married there and I fell in love with it.

    As far as the staff! They’re horrible. They don’t communicate, they don’t respond to emails, they don’t answer phone calls or texts. The 3 people I dealt with were Michael, Keri & Maureen.

    Keri was not bad, she had some issues answering emails and phones and couldn’t find our deposit for a while and called us telling us we needed to pay when we already did. Honestly the only time Keri responds to your emails is when she wants you to pay her for something. We spent 3 months trying to find out about our deposit check and never got an answer.

    Michael was supposed to be our help the whole wedding and half the time we could not find him! He does not respond to emails or texts at all either. We’ve been waiting for a tax form since it is a historical site and we have received no response at all.

    And then there’s maureen! Maureen was the worst! The whole time during set up, which I remind you the contract comes with 2 event staff to help set up, she stood on the back steps and the deck telling me (the bride) that we couldn’t do this, couldn’t do that, had to move this, and a bunch of other shit. She also disappeared for most of the night and when it was around 10:00pm demanded we started to clean up. WE HAD THE VENUE UNTIL 11! She stood there over me in my wedding dress telling me I needed to clean up all the kids stuff inside the house before we got charged for clean up AS I WAS SAYING GOODBYE TO MY WEDDING GUESTS!

    Here we are in late January (1/29) and we still have not had any and I mean any communication from Michael or Keri about our receipts or our tax form. This is starting to get ridiculous and if worst comes to worst I will have to show up at an open house and demand my forms.

    The Old Homestead is a beautiful place but the staff is horrible! Maureen was rude and it seemed like they were trying to pull money out of us left and right. My husband and I had a great wedding but behind the scene and planning was so stressful. We had a horrible experience. I can't recommend this place.

    I was the minister for the wedding of my friends Clint and Christine. While the venue was fairly nice, the treatment of my newly weds is unprofessional and unacceptable. There were empty bottles and trash left over from the night before, so after they arrived, they had to clean up. THAT SHOULDN'T BE YOUR JOB ON YOUR WEDDING DAY. Small details matter; Homestead had promised table-cloths and there were none there, so the MIL had to go out and get some last minute. THAT IS UNNECESSARY STRESS. There was a man lurking around right before the bride went down the aisle, so she had to postpone her own marriage service to find out who he was. He was apparently sent from the homestead for whatever reason, and was taking pictures. WHY WOULD THEY SEND SOMEONE UNOFFICIALLY? ARE THEY SPYING ON THE COUPLE? Finally, a beautiful arbor was lent to the couple for their wedding. After cleaning up and getting out of the Homestead by ten o clock (I was one of the many that helped make the deadline possible, and yes everyone was out by 10pm) everyone left. The company came around 10:50 or so to pick up the arbor, and couldn't find it. Apparently it was taken down incorrectly and it was BROKEN by the Homestead employees and dumped in the trash!! The NEXT DAY the Homestead has the audacity to charge the newlyweds $2600 for "overtime" ...allegedly cleaning up (again, there was nothing left to clean up, plus the bride and groom cleaned up after a previous party's mess the night before... so I say, the Homestead should pay THEM the overtime!) Overall, whoever is running the Homestead refuses to even communicate with the couple. That's NOT the honeymoon any couple wants. I HIGHLY DISCOURAGE YOU FROM WORKING WITH THESE PEOPLE if that's how they think it appropriate to behave with clients.

    Loved the location and venue. Though I highly encourage everything the staff verbally tells you to get it in writing. Seems they try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible by lying to you saying one thing and claiming they never said that when it comes to the final bill. Ended getting a bill of $1,120 above our original statement

    This is the second time I’m having to post this since the first one was removed. To start, Maureen cannot communicate honestly. We where told July fourth was open in 2016 for our 2018 wedding. We’re a family that has served this country for generations so that date was important to us. Only when the 2018 calendar opened up to find they lied and had a standing reservation with the fire department for several years prior and going forth. So we booked else where. We came back on a dif date when my husbands G ma got terminally ill and we needed some place close so she could attend. The willingness to work with us after they got our deposit was poor. We where originally told 90 guests could be comparably seated on the deck. During planning that was absolutely impossible only 50 could at most and the rest of our guests would be exiled to a lower level and would have to move the tables and chairs around themselves pre and post wedding and for them to make a game out of it. Having been at the venue several times before we thought we can fit all our guests on the deck we only have 80. So we asked if when convenient to them we ourselves could take the tables out and see. The answer was absolutely not. Day of the wedding was a nightmare, my husband got their early to only find they hadn’t set the tables and chair up right after we sent the layout to them. They hadn’t cleaned up from the night before so my poor husband on his wedding day ended up doing it all. They cussed out our florist when she dropped off our flowers in the parking lot early, which we where told earlier was fine. They said they provided table cloths, they didn’t we had to magically come up with some at 3pm on a Sunday at our expense. They sent some strange dude to lurk around our wedding mid way through and take pictures from inside the house. We finned early cleaned the heck out the place definitely left it better than we found it. Next morning they charge us an extra $2600 no explanation and refuse to talk

    This venue may have a beautiful garden but the people and the service are horrible!! They are not clear about what they will and will not provide, they do not return phone calls. Example the florist called three times the week before the wedding as to when they could drop off flowers no one called her back so she dropped them off early because she had two trips and they are trying to charge us 600. , 300 an hour because she left them on the deck. They broke the arbor we rented, when the vendor came to pick it up at 10:50 they found it broken by the dumpster. These vendors will no longer work with the old homestead either. RUN RUN RUN!!!

    I waited to review this venue for three months because of how beautiful the venue is but the staff made our wedding memory absolutely atrocious. FIRST we where promised the date of July 4th before the calendar of 2018 opened up since my husband and I come from military families. The day the calendar opened up we where ready to put down out deposit only to find out they had lied to us about it being open and they had a standing reservation for that day for YEARS something you would remember with the fire department. SO we went to look else where but came back because my husbands grandma was dying and we needed somewhere close so we changed the day
    After that it was one thing after the other. They said we couldn't have all our guests on one level even know they said when we booked it would be no problem. The Day of my poor husband had to clean the entire place because it looked like they hadn't cleaned from the night before. They cussed out our florist for dropping off flowers in the parking lot which we also had discussed and they said would be alright. They destroyed an Arbor for another Vendor. Had some creepy guy show up half way through the wedding lurk around the house and take pictures of our guests while rummaging around our stuff. I was alone in the house at the time about to walk down the isle I thought I was going to have to tackle him in my wedding dress when I confronted him he said "Maureen sent me". Table cloths that they said would be provided for their tables weren't and my mother in law who has MS had to go out and muster some up at 3pm on a Sunday an hour before the event. We finished up early and Marueen and her crew where already there which is fine, except the next day we woke up to an additional charge of $1126 and they refuse to communicate with us about it after we confronted them. Initially getting them on the phone or to respond to an email was impossible, and now theyre back to not responding.
