Kristin and Meagan from the Oceanic were great working with me on planning for the perfect wedding day. They responded quickly to me and helped plan everything on their end which was great since I lived two hours away from the venue. They had great suggestions and on my wedding day everything was perfect. I would definitely recommend the Oceanic to anyone.

My husband and I are so happy we had our wedding reception at The Oceanic! Kristin and Meagan were amazing to work with, very prompt and flexible with last minute changes. The food and service was amazing the night of and we had an excellent view, of course. My husband and I chose The Oceanic because all food, drinks and service were included in our minimum, which was really great for what we got. A couple things to think about before you book: 1. The space can hold around 75 people (don't quote me). We were really worried about there not being enough room for our 60 something guests, but it worked out great. It was intimate without being claustrophobic and we still had room for a 9x9 dance floor. 2. You can't here the music from the restaurant up there so you'll need to get a dj. If you were trying to save room for tables like us we got a great speaker that we hooked up to our iPhone so we could play our Spotify playlists. All in all I would recommend The Oceanic to anyone. Our night was perfect in every way!

We got married on Wrightsville Beach and had our reception at the Oceanic Restaurant. Our guests absolutely loved the view of the beach from the 3rd floor reception area and they could not stop talking about the amazing food! The dinner menu choices are large and made to perfection! The Oceanic staff was friendly, helpful and professional and ensured that our day went smoothly! We would highly recommend the Oceanic Restaurant for a wedding reception venue to anyone getting married in the Wrightsville Beach area.

We had eaten at the Oceanic prior to choosing it as our venue, and had been very pleased. My wedding planner found the venue for us and coordinated the date/time as we live 3 hours away. We expected to have a band, dance floor, and 70 people attend the reception. They told us that the 3rd floor would be tight, but doable, more so with a buffet. We signed the contract and went to visit the venue at a later date, this time viewing the 3rd floor. There was no way that it would hold what we needed, and when we asked, they said it would if we did a buffet, we could rotate people sitting down (meaning not everyone would have a seat).
They were easily able to move us to the second floor, it adjusted our minimum that had to be spent. The tasting went very well, they have plenty of choices. We even selected an appetizer for just the bridal party (half a tray) that the restaurant reserved at our tables for us. They also ensured that we had a plate of each of the appetizers at our table so we wouldn't miss them while doing pictures. The 2nd floor was perfect and had ocean views on all 3 sides where people were sitting, people were very impressed. We were told that it was the first time that people had been to an event where the food actually came out hot. If there were complaints, I didn't hear any.

We used this venue for our Rehearsal dinner. The venue was fine and the coordinator was easy to work with and responsive. You definitely pay for the location though, not the food. The appetizers were actually great (crab dip, shrimp cocktail, calamari), but the entrees weren't the best. We had about 45 people and they forgot the tropical salsa for everyone who ordered the mahi mani...which kinda makes the dish. You also can't really hear the music up on the 3rd floor. It's nice that you can choose exactly what you want the bar to serve and they will notify you once you have hit a certain food/bev tab. Only complaint is the entrees weren't that great for the price. Can't beat the view.

In the beginning the woman they had answering emails was very unresponsive but Kristen who took her position was extremely responsive and easy to work with. The day of the wedding was a little hectic with seating arrangements and food was not put out when we requested but staff was very helpful and friendly with getting it fixed. Overall a great place to have a small, intimate reception.

Overall, a great dinner. I did experience a little initial frustration as I had to wait up a week and a half to speak with banquet manager. For whatever reason, I was unable to reach her when I called.

The Caterers are good to work with, but the actual dinner waitress did not seem like we were at all important to her and she looked bored and annoyed that she had to help us. Though they were fair priced and the restaurant was beautiful and well kept, I was not very happy when I was emailed the day before my wedding (when i live 20 hours away from the destination) telling me that they never got my signed contract and they are unable to go ahead with the event without it!! THE DAY BEFORE!! We had already sent the contract through email and got a "got it. thanks" But then miraculously the day before, they realize the attachment never took...they only had 3 months to figure that out and all. Of course the two girls in the catering department apologized for my troubles, but though the food was decent and the guests were happy, I regret choosing the Oceanic for my wedding reception caterers.

Keep in mind that your special day is just another run-of-the-mill event for them that pushes money through. Oceanic and Coastal events are two separate entities that occupy the same building. Weddings get booked through Coastal events. And the restaurant and Coastal events don’t always see eye to eye on what has priority. My husband and I coordinated through Beachside Occasions to get married on the beach right outside of the Oceanic and then have a reception in the top floor of the Oceanic. A couple days before my ceremony was supposed to take place I met with the venue because I had been deployed and had not yet had a chance to see it. There were storms in the forecast. We had asked if we could use the pier as an alternate location through email initially and were denied. However, my wedding coordinator from Beachside Occasions he was able to ask them if we could use the pier. It was agreed as long his personnel moved the rented equipment out of the way at the end of the ceremony and moved all of the restaurants tables and chairs back which was not an issue at all and after talking to the manager who then talked to Coastal events it was agreed we wouldn’t be charged a fee especially since the restaurant would not yet be open for at least two hours after my ceremony began. I was also initially told that Party Suppliers could come in the evening before and set up the linens that we had rented or at least deliver them so that they could be stored. I was later informed that they had an event the night prior and they had no place to store my linen and that I would have to set it up the morning before initially. I was able to ask if I could come at 9 PM the night before my wedding ceremony to set the tables up myself with the rented items and it was eventually agreed that I could. I don’t know what we would’ve done had we actually gone through and rented the chairs that we had originally wanted-see rest of review on theknot

I would look elsewhere for your venue. It may be a nice place to eat, but it's a terrible venue. Planning was the most difficult part, you'd talk directly to managers and then get a completely different demand from the event coordinator Chelsea. The communication between Chelsea and any member of our party was always unprofessional demanding who said we could "bring in a dance floor", "bring in our own stemware" etc. While any questions we asked were either ignored or terse, we asked how big are the tables and the response was "four should be enough". On the actual day the air conditioning was broken (Summer is a bad time for that) and there was little effort by the management to let us know if/when it would be fixed. The servers and bartenders were good and responsive (one of the positives). The food was decent and the price was what we expected. There was no effort by their staff to help us setup.
