Paying for a gem without seeing it first-hand is scary. As a highly prolific researcher I did my homework. I spent several weeks learning about sapphires, examining various online sites and gem companies (including a high-end jewelry shop in Bangkok recommended by a friend), and I found NSC offered the most in terms of information, transparency, quality, and variety. Other sites were not so transparent (e.g., not being upfront about a gem’s “treatment/heated” status).
NSC has the biggest selection of high-quality sapphires with certified reports from a variety of well-regarded institutions including those that are most reputable in distinguishing a stone’s color and origin. Not all these third-party reports available on NSC’s site included origin assessment and “origin” might be a debatable issue. However, I found NSC offered more reports that certified a gem’s origin than other companies. I eventually phoned NSC and Amrita took my call. She was cordial, informative, and didn’t seem to mind that I was merely collecting information about sapphires. The thought of calling back wasn’t on my mind at the time, but I did call Amrita about a week later.
Amrita was naturally stellar throughout the process. She patiently answered my questions and addressed my concerns with credible reassurance, and she was highly knowledgeable about gems (she’s not a mere sales rep). After a couple weeks of searching various sites, I narrowed my choice to 6 stones from NSC, and then to two stones in a week’s time. I printed out 2-D cut-outs (on Word using size units in mm) of these two finalist sapphires and placed them on my finger to get a better feel for how they would look on my ring finger. At that point I asked Amrita which one she would choose, and she replied by giving me more information that helped me make my own decision; she neither chose for me nor pressured me whatsoever.
I learned some of NSC’s gems (like mine) are situated in various parts of the world (e.g., for trade shows), and my gem took less than a week to arrive at NSC. The idea of shipping a gem is a little unsettling, but NSC assured me that they covered shipping insurance to/from (in case of a return) the buyer. This and the 14-day return policy made it easier to go forward. I initially planned on using my cc for the purchase (for better protection in case of any dispute) but I changed my mind (and avoided the cc processing fee) because the back-forth emails/phone calls with Amrita created trust.
In addition, I’m glad Amrita suggested I inspect NSC’s (large) selection of rings (some can be modified) because their prices were far, far better than the quote given to me by my local jeweler. Amrita was patient in my selection process and emailed me several CAD design images of rings that included my gem. The CAD designs and photos/videos of past purchases (a men’s ring on a woman’s hand) should be viewed with a grain of salt. Conceptually, they are accurate but not entirely representative of what they look like in person, and of course the size and shape of the gem have a bearing on the CAD design images of the ring. My ring pics looked different at certain angles. But I took refuge knowing I could return it while telling myself I was working with high-end professionals who wouldn’t sell poorly designed jewelry.
The ring was MUCH better in person and was EXACTLY what I was hoping. The process took less than 3 weeks from the time of order. Amrita graciously declined my offer to Zelle her a tip (to treat her and her fiancé to lunch for all her efforts) as her genuine happiness for me was her bonus. Overall, I highly recommend NSC without any reservation.

I have purchased 7 sapphire rings from the Natural Sapphire Company, as well as a zircon ring from its subsidiary, The Natural Gemstone Company, with a total cost exceeding $150,000. I have been absolutely stunned by the quality of its products and the extraordinary range of its collection, which is available nowhere else. I have also been amazed and completely satisfied by its superlative customer service, provided in my case by Katherine Hoyt (a certified Gemologist) and her coworkers.
Every product arrived on time and fully met or exceeded my expectations based on the uniquely extensive information given on their website. I also repeatedly asked for hand-shot videos and stills under various lighting conditions, including videos comparing the 4 stones I was deciding between (a total of 4 for the zircon). I have been a picky, demanding, and fickle customer, exchanging many dozens of emails with Katherine, asking her various questions and drawing from her immense expertise and experience. But despite my formidable pestyness, her responses were unfailingly friendly, prompt, and helpful.
Across all my purchases, I requested exchanges only twice. One was entirely my fault after choosing a stone that was darker than I had hoped. The other exchange was due to a tiny scratch on a gem -- one that many less fussy people would have overlooked. Yet NSC immediately offered me a choice of polishing away the scratch or exchanging the stone at no charge. I was thrilled with the outcomes in both cases.
Finally, I asked for unusual payment arrangements to reserve particularly remarkable stones before I had gathered the necessary funds to pay for them in full. Although I would not expect this accommodation from most other comparable gemstone dealers, they agreed immediately.
NSC offers the craftsmanship, wide selection, and deep expertise that equal or exceed every other company I have used, as well as extremely competent and attentive customer service. It has the products and capabilities of a large company with the personal touch of a small one. It is unique in my gemstone investing experience, and well exceeds even Brilliant Earth, which is also excellent but offers far less selection and lacks the same high level of personal service.
In short, you simply cannot go wrong with The Natural Sapphire/Emerald/Gemstone Company, and I recommend them all without a single reservation.

I had a great time searching for an emerald at The Natural Emerald Company!
I appreciated the detailed photos and information for each emerald. I liked being able to list and compare many emeralds at once. I found the whole process to be relaxing and fun without feeling any pressure. When I had a question, Lauren was a phone call away. She was very informative and helpful throughout the process!
This is a site where you can study, compare, narrow down, agonize and finally choose and emerald (or a completed jewelry item,) at your own pace. I think I spent a couple of weeks in the process. This is something I would NOT have felt comfortable doing in my local jewelry shop. They are certainly very nice, but I would’ve felt like a PEST!
If you decide to place an order with TNEC, I highly recommend reading through their education section. It helped me to narrow down and choose the perfect emerald by identifying all the varied attributes each emerald offered.
Unfortunately, I cannot post a photo because I bought a loose emerald to place into an existing setting for my wife and it has not yet been set. I did once, gently place it into the ring and it looked MARVELOUS! -

Lauren helped my boyfriend and I select a sapphire stone and diamonds for a custom ring in the NY showroom. The experience from beginning to end was wonderful. Lauren is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. She answered our questions and showed us various combinations of stones. The resulting ring is spectacular in every way. We also purchased a wedding band for my boyfriend, which is quite handsome and customized to match my engagement ring. We easily stayed within our budget. I hope to work with Lauren again! -

When my parents died, I kept both of their wedding rings. I decided to create a ring with their rings in memory of them and added a little element of myself to the ring. My amazing jewelry took the diamonds out, melted down the gold, designed and created the ring, and put all my parents’ diamonds in the ring. The center diamond in my mom’s ring was not in good condition, so I needed something for the middle. A very close friend of mine suggested I put a sapphire since it’s representative of my birthstone.
I looked at over a dozen gemstone websites to find the best options. That’s where The Natural Sapphire Company comes in. Out of all the websites, I felt the company that provided the best options at, by far, the best price was this company. Dealing with them was amazing. They provided me with the perfect size and grade sapphire that I was looking for. The result speaks for itself. Repeat Customer
I purchased my wife’s engagement ring here in March 2017. She much prefers colorful stones over diamonds, so I started a search for something unique, ultimately landing on a bi-color sapphire and having it custom set in a sort of art deco setting. We recently needed to have it resized, inspected and polished and were connected with Charlotte to help us through the process.
She was awesome to work, was very responsive to our questions and anticipated what we needed. Interactions with The Natural Sapphire Company always seem so personal and make you feel as if you’re their most valued customer.

The Natural Sapphire Company maintains an easy to navigate website with an extensive educational library, a precision browsing filter, close-up photos and videos of the actual gems and an all-inclusive gem data page.
They offer a huge selection of high-quality sapphires that are competitively priced against comparable gems available from other online sellers.
I did not require customer service support and I was not inundated with offers of assistance. However, I was immediately contacted for security purposes to validate the legitimacy of my purchase request. I also received lovely welcome and thank you e-mails from Marie.
The sapphire arrived 3 days after purchase and it was insured with a signature required. A professionally, well put together data and certificate portfolio was included and the gem was delivered in a smart looking display case.
The sapphire is absolutely gorgeous in its sparkly brilliance and depth of color. I highly recommend The Natural Sapphire Company and look forward to shopping their other sites for a ruby and emerald to join the sapphire. -

The process was simple, they do a small test charge to confirm your card and then charge the full amount. I have to admit that was bit off putting but it was CLEARLY communicated in an email so I felt comfortable. Fantastic Paraiba Tourmaline ring and purchase experience!
Three years ago I heavily researched gem stone companies and am so pleased I found THE NATURAL SAPPHIRE COMPANY! Since then, my wife and I have purchased a ruby ring, ruby earrings and sapphire earrings. With each showroom visit, design work and eventual purchase we have been genuinely impressed with and grateful for the incredible customer service of Michael, Ksenia and Neli.
Our latest NSC purchase, a stunning Paraiba Tourmaline ring, comes from a new business venture for the company - offering precious stones. My wife and I saw one of these unique stones in a local jewelry store and were truly captivated by the magical look and mystical feel of it. The next day I contacted NCS and asked if they could procure and create such a setting for us. To my pleasant surprise, I learned they were moving toward offering precious stones in their business in the Fall of 2023 and were willing to step into it early with a design for us!
We sent NCS many pics of our local jewelry stone's natural bluish green color, said what size oval stone looked best on my wife's petite hand and they quickly set out to find the perfect stone. And did they ever! It was a gorgeous, transparent 1.3 ct. brilliant cut with eye clean clarity, light color saturation and excellent polish from Brazil. Once we selected that stone we worked with Neli to find the right setting that would allow the electric center stone to be prominently displayed. We selected one of her suggestions, an 18k white gold setting that also featured two bullet vs1, E color bullet diamonds 0.3 tcw.
The ring is beyond breathtakingly beautiful! When it arrived at the house my wife put it on and spent the morning walking around the house talking to herself about how it looked and made her feel! Ha! (That's so not her usual controlled style!) Then in an afternoon grocery store run, she was admiring it in the sunlight on the steering wheel and realized she needed to focus on the road!
I believe there isn't a higher compliment to give a business than to "cold call" them and ask if they would be willing to step into a new angle of work for you. The need for us to be able to trust the staff and feel assured about the high quality product with such a different project was a necessity for us. NCS overdelivered at every turn and in every way. I highly recommend their solid, trustworthy work ethic and exceptional product quality. We will definitely return to do another project with them soon!

My husband and I made the decision to upgrade our engagement ring and were recommended to try the Natural Sapphire Company since we were looking specifically for a sapphire. I started the process maybe for a little over a year, browsing, until we were ready to seriously consider a ring. The Natural Sapphire Company's website was extremely accessible and provides a lot of information so buyers can make an informed decision. Lauren was our sales rep and she was so so nice and helpful. I went back and forth with stone choices and she was there at every turn, getting me video content of the stones, e.g. indoor v outdoor lighting. We went over multiple stones until I finally found "the one." I thought it'd be smooth sailing afterwards, but I was wrong. Unfortunately, I didn't like the setting I picked once it arrived. I felt so bad having to ask Lauren if we could send the ring back and look at my options. Yet again, she was so helpful! We looked at different settings that would give me that oomph I was looking for. She recommended a double halo which I wouldn't have considered, but she was so right! We came up with a custom, double halo setting that was jaw-dropping as a concept. I couldn't wait to wear it and see it in person. Lauren let me know what the processing time was so all we had to do was wait. I hate waiting, but it was worth it. I was notified when the ring shipped (processing time ran 4.5 weeks) and eagerly awaited the arrival. The ring was stunning! We couldn't be happier. It truly is my dream ring. We'll definitely be coming back for future pieces. -

Back in September 2022 I started obsessing over the perfect sapphire ring. I’ve always loved my birthstone and wanted a special piece of jewelry for my 20th Wedding Anniversary. Lauren Kelly-Nelson at the Natural Sapphire Co. was my representative that helped me from the start. The communication between us went on for months. She was so patient with all my questions and changes. I originally purchased a ring that was already made and ready to ship. When I received the ring it wasn’t for me. Then I started pulling pictures from different rings to design my own. With Lauren’s help I designed a second ring. I received that one and wasn’t completely happy with it. At that point I thought maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. I decided I was just going to go for it and asked for all of the bells and whistles. I knew I wanted a cushion cut, double prongs, square shank and Cadillac side diamonds. Once again I received the ring and was not in love with the completed ring. Talked to Lauren again about the side diamonds and the thickness of the shank. Lauren was able to send me a wax model of a new ring and the actual Cadillac side diamonds to preview. I was in love!! Excitedly I mailed them back and The Natural Sapphire Co. got to work. When I received my ring in May 2023 I was so in love with this ring. I was amazed at how beautiful the design was, the thickness of the square shank and the beauty of the sapphire and diamonds. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so the process was long but Lauren stuck with me and helped my dream come true. I will say that getting a wax model of the ring is the best way to go. If I had done that before the last time it would have saved me some time and money. Also, if you’re not sure about the stones, sapphire or diamonds, the Natural Sapphire Co can ship those to you to preview them before you commit. When I wear this ring I get nothing but compliments. It’s an amazing ring and I couldn’t be happier. Big thanks to Lauren for her patience and knowledge. I would definitely recommend The Natural Sapphire and Co. and Lauren Kelly-Nelson. You will not be disappointed! -

Fantastic experience
I have been searching for a particular shade of green sapphire for my engagement ring for a while now but had been unable to source one in the UK or Europe. I discovered this company online and was stunned to see the exact colour and cut I wanted! I was nervous about buying a sapphire online especially as I couldn’t see the stone with my own eyes but Marie went above and beyond by videoing the sapphire for me in different lighting (artificial and daylight) and against an ungloved hand with a diamond next to it so I could get a good feel for the colour. I loved it and bought it!! It arrived very quickly without any problems. On opening my parcel, I have to say I was stunned at just how beautiful it was!! I was so excited, I didn’t quite know what to do with myself! It’s now being set with my late Mums diamonds and I can’t wait to get it back and wear it!! (My jeweller was extremely impressed with the cut, colour and quality of the sapphire!)
I recommend this company to anyone who wants a truly stunning and unique sapphire - the customer service is exemplary and the stone will thrill you! -

Best gem purchases on the East Coast!
If you want the wedding ring shopping an experience, and get something one of a kind, THIS IS THE PLACE! Lauren was amazing and helpful with our multiple renderings to create the perfect custom setting. We drove down twice to NYC to first choose the stone we wanted in person (she had multiple laid out based on one we chose, and I ended up loving a different one!), and to pick up. Now we have matching, unheated, straight from this earth Sapphires. I look at this ring every day and I am still in awe of how beautiful and perfect it is. For someone who does not like diamonds, and sapphires is my birthstone, it could not have been more perfect! It is also fun to shop their site to see what gems are available. -

We are very happy that we went with the Natural Sapphire Company for our engagement ring!
Neli Maduwanthi helped us through the design and ordering process and was very kind, helpful, and professional. My fiancé was involved within the initial few conversations, as every sapphire is so unique. Once we nailed down a few details, the communication switched to just myself and Neil for the ordering process. Throughout our whole experience, the site was very accessible and transparent regarding the steps needed to buy our ring. Other sites that sell gemstones or other sapphires don't provide as much information regarding the specific stone. The videos in different lighting were SO helpful narrowing down the right sapphire for us.
The delivery process very smooth. With being a more expensive package, it needed a signature for the delivery, and with our funky work schedule we had it delivered to a FedEx store for storage until I could come pick it up. The ring came very well packaged with at least three boxes to protect the ring. It also included in appraisal packet, cleaner, ring bag, etc...
We ended up needing the ring resize and one minor repair and were assisted by both Neli and Su Su (who was very friendly and informative)! The return shipping instructions were very clear and included so much helpful information. We only had to pay for the shipping, which was only $20.00! I definitely recommend keeping the boxes that the ring comes in, until you actually propose (as it can be used for returns/repairs).
We couldn't be happier with the Green Sapphire we picked - it has so much character to it and is different in every lighting! We can't wait for our ring to be shipped back from the resize/repair. We DEFINITELY recommend The Natural Sapphire Company to others! -

They created what I imagined!
I knew I wanted a sapphire for my engagement ring but wasn't having any luck finding a ring at any of the big chain stores. I checked out the Natural Sapphire Company's website for an engagement ring and fell in love with a cushion cut blue sapphire. I hadn't even considered customizing my own ring but the process was easy and the same price as other rings I'd seen. I made my selection of stone and setting along with a description of how I wanted the stone arranged. Within 24 hours I was sent digitally rendered previews of how the ring would turn out and it was perfect. Just took three weeks to ship. 10/10 recommend -

The ring design I had in mind consisted of side hexagon diamonds which might be challenging to source, but Michael came through! The entire process was seamless and efficient. The ring came out as I envisioned it- absolutely stunning! We are just so appreciative of Michael and his team. They were always helpful and responded quickly to additional questions about the design. Having a team working tirelessly to make the perfect ring for you was comforting.
We highly recommend the Natural Sapphire company if you want a perfect engagement ring. Buying an engagement can be daunting as it is a considerable purchase, so choosing a seller you can depend on is essential. This is a jeweler you can genuinely trust. -

Amazing sapphire engagement ring!
We had a fantastic experience designing my engagement ring and wedding band with the Natural Sapphire Company. Their sapphires were really stunning, and we appreciate all of the different options and levels of customization they offered across the board. Having looked previously at more boutique jewelers, we were happy to find that we could design a similar, unique piece for a fraction of the price through Natural Sapphire and have a more positive experience. Excellent Options, Service + Sapphires
I cannot imagine an easier, breezier process of finding our perfect sapphire engagement ring. After some research, we knew we wanted a sapphire, and after reviewing the options over a week or two, were quite specific about what we were looking for. We were in talks with a couple of different jewelers in addition to The Natural Sapphire Company, but in the end went with TNSC for a variety of reasons. The website had incredibly, true to life, images and the way it was set up made it really simple to drill down and find the exact stones that worked for us (we were looking for high clarity, green/blue from Montana, at a specific price point). The number of stones they had seemed endless, as well as the pricing options, and TNSC had the most variety. Katherine was with us every step of the way and really helped us find the right stone. She truly went above and beyond, particularly when we liked 6 different stones and she offered to share videos of the stones in various lighting conditions. There was zero pressure to make a decision, which we really appreciated. I really loved the renderings as well, which were very helpful for us to review the different setting options. When the ring arrived, it was even more beautiful than we thought it would be! I encourage anyone that is interested in a sapphire to explore TNSC. We couldn't be happier with the results. -

My fiancé and I started talking about getting married just weeks into our relationship - we knew that we had found the person we wanted to be with forever. So early on, he asked me what I wanted in a ring, because he wanted me to have something I'd love and wear proudly forever. I told him I wasn't interested in a diamond (been there, done that, got the divorce papers to show for it) and that I was much more interested in a teal sapphire.
Fast forward two years and he proposes with the most gorgeous, unique, bicolor sapphire I've ever seen! This was my best experience with a jeweler ever. First of all the gems are at the highest standard possible. Just amazing. Lauren was so good to work with. She’s responsive and insightful. She worked with me on creating a custom design for my fiancés padparadscha engagement ring and it’s absolutely brilliant. She custom designed part of it while helping me realize the vision I had for it. My fiancé LOVES it. And what’s so good about working with Lauren is she doesn’t push hard on anything. So many jewelers are always pressuring you on what they think you should get and like and whatever but she lets you in the driver seat. But if you have questions or aren’t sure about something she gently guides you. Also I live in Chicago and it was no problem working with a New York jeweler because the photos and videos on the website are extremely accurate plus they can also ship you the gems to look at in person before you buy - then you just ship them back!
My ruby wedding ring is also incredible. It’s so perfect and I love it and can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day. I’m certain I’ve found the most unique ruby every cut that fits my personality and style.

My wife's birthstone is a sapphire (September), for our 5th wedding anniversary and valentines, I decided to surprise her with a Padparadscha sapphire from the Natural Sapphire Company.
I spent months researching online and came to the conclusion that it must be a padparadscha because of its unique qualities.
Buying Jewelry online is not easy, trust and confidence is exceptionally important. Initially, I bought a sapphire from another website online (wont mention the name but I will say the website starts with an "A" and their gems are poor quality). I purchased a gem that was supposed to not have any inclusions that you can see with the naked eye but when I received the gem you can totally see the inclusions with my eye. So I returned it and got a refund from the other website jeweler. OK so I made a mistake and thank gawd I returned the ring back to this company.
I continued to do my online research and all my good searches kept directing me towards the Natural Sapphire Company. I reviewed all the gems they had online and I also was able to pick the ring to compliment the gem.
Its very very difficult to judge a gem based on the photos online, so I reached out to Lauren Kelly-Nelson, Client Services; Head of Sales. The first padparadscha that I wanted was already sold, but I had another in mind and asked Lauren about it. She said it was gorgeous. I dont know Lauren and I've never bought anything from the Natural Sapphire company. So I had to take a leap of faith and agreed to buy the padparadscha with the ring setting. Honestly I didnt trust the photos so I asked Lauren what she thought? She said it was stunning. So I said OK I'm gonna trust you.
3.5 weeks later we finally received the ring (the entire setting was custome made which is why it took so long). I gotta say I was 100% relieved. Lauren was 100% right, it was a stunning and beautiful. I gave it to my wife and she said "I don't like it. I love it." So now my wife is happy I'm happy and I'm even more happy to share my personal experience with the web.
If you are looking for a sapphire you have to look at the Natural Sapphire Company. Trust but verify of course. This is such an important purchase one that my wife will keep for the rest of her life so I don't say this lightly but I do say it sincerely, you will not be disappointed if you buy a one of a kind high quality sapphire from the Natural Sapphire Company. :-)

The ring turned out gorgeous and we both love it!! We worked with Michael throughout the process and he helped us to custom design the setting that we wanted, and met with us in person to select our sapphire. He graciously accommodated our schedule to meet with us, as we were traveling from another state. There were SO many breath taking stones that it was extremely difficult to choose! But we loved the unique qualities of our stone and it actually seems to change colors in different lights! I can't stop looking at it! The website is very easy to navigate, there are tons of options for different price points, and the design team is very talented! After discussing what we wanted, we received a CAD drawing and renderings to review, and were even able to get a wax model sent to us before finalizing the design. I highly recommend! -
