The BEST Officiant for US!
Throughout our wedding journey, we knew that one of the most important decisions we would have to make, besides getting married, was to decide who we would choose to usher us into marital bliss. Jemelle made herself available to us at all times. She was professional, very personable and open with us about what to expect from the beginning to end of our ceremony. She was knowledgeable of various ceremony elements that we wanted to incorporate and made suggestions on where we should place them in the wedding, so everything flowed smoothly. Our guests especially loved how she was able highlight the origins of many of the elements we had. She even helped us with ideas for our vows to each other. She was wonderful. Her couple's questionnaire was extensive lol, but 100% worth it. She incorporated what we answered beautifully. She was absolutely amazing! Couldn't have asked for anyone better!

From the moment we met with Jemelle, we knew that she was the perfect officiant for us. As an LGBTQIA+ couple, navigating a heteronormative wedding industry had us defeated at times, especially when we were looking for an officiant. Jemelle was instantly welcoming and we loved talking with her! She's professional, answered our million questions, and was extremely helpful. Our ceremony was perfectly tailored towards us and so many of our guests made sure to go out of the way tell us just how incredible she was (which we already knew, but that was good to hear)! Jemelle was phenomenal, arrived early and fit right in with our family - hanging out and relaxing pre-ceremony. Everyone commented later how great it was to meet Jemelle. The questions asked of my fiance and I beforehand served to create the perfect, tailored ceremony with very personal nods to our lives together thus far. It made our whole day so sweet and romantic, and really set the tone for the rest of the night. "If we didn't already have an officiant, we would get her." That's an actual quote from one of our guests who got married two weeks after our ceremony. That tells of the awesomeness that is Jemelle. Incredible Officiant and Marital Counselor
Jemelle is an excellent officiant! She is personable, a skilled speaker, and easy to work with. Her officiation was just the right fit for us and was heartfelt with a sprinkle of humor.
She is very responsive and professional, and guided us through each step of the process. She gave us clear direction on getting the marriage license and handled filing the paperwork with no hiccups. Honestly, working with her was the easiest part of our wedding planning so it was appreciated.
In the months since the wedding we are still having guests express how impressed they were with her and asking how we found her.
We also completed our pre-marital counseling with Jemelle, which I highly recommended because it resulted in a very personalized officiation. It was a wonderful experience for both me and my husband and we learned a lot about ourselves and each other. Jemelle was very open with us during our six sessions and we got to know her more as part of that process.
Overall, 10/10, would have her marry us all over again!

Devoted, thoughtful, and caring Officiant
Jemelle truly is a wonderful person. We chose her as our officiant for our wedding. We were drawn to her warmth and optimism when we had first interviewed her over the phone. We had a slightly unusual request in that we had asked for her to marry us legally a few days before the official wedding (we wanted a certain date as our legal wedding date). Jemelle accommodated us without an additional charge or hesitation.
Jemelle provided a beautiful service. We had several family members tell us what an amazing job she did. We felt like we had known her all our lives by how she treated us during the ceremony. We were obviously emotional, but she was our rock. We had a last minute change where we had incorporated in a handfasting, and Jemelle happily made the change. She was sweet, thoughtful, and I can't think of enough good things to say about her. She was truly a gift, and I can't thank her enough for marrying us. I highly recommend her.

A Master of Her Craft!
I contacted Jemelle after reading all her exemplary reviews and it left me excited and anxious ( in a good way) to work with her. Not being from an extremely religious background, we were looking for an officiant to craft a ceremony full of love and not religion and I’m so happy we found her. She took time getting to know us through pre-marital counseling (highly recommended!!!) and took pieces of what she learned to carefully tell the story of our magic on our big day. Our wedding was only a month ago, but we’re still getting compliments on how meaningful Jemelle made our ceremony! What was suppose to be a surprise originally turned out to be an amazing ceremony shared amongst friends, family and our new favorite officiant, Jemelle! Jemelle is an incredible officiant. It was important to us to find someone who was LGBTQ+ friendly, who would be able to represent us with a ceremony that would reflect our (not-very-religious) views, and not be alienating to our (varied religions) family. My husband & I spoke with Jemelle on the phone & I knew she was exactly what we were looking for! We explained the sort of ceremony we were hoping for, and she truly delivered!! It was beautiful and moving! So many people came up to me after the wedding to say how much they enjoyed the ceremony, and specifically how much they enjoyed what Jemelle said. Most people just go "Oh what a lovely ceremony" but people were like "Where'd you find that officiant? Everything she said was so beautiful! What a joy!" Also, we didn't get a chance to meet with her before the rehearsal, but she immediately put us at ease. It really was wonderful working with her.
I could gush forever and honestly, I can't recommend The Modern Officiant highly enough! She really helped make our wedding a beautiful experience.

Perfect Wedding Officiant!
We absolutely loved working with Jemelle for our wedding!! First of all, she was so supportive and responsive throughout the entire wedding process. Literally from the moment we contacted her, she always got back to us so promptly and always had great answers. The questionnaire was so helpful for us in writing our vows and in thinking about our relationship in preparing for our wedding. She was always quick to answer and follow up with us.
The ceremony was so wonderful and professional. Jemelle crafted our ceremony perfectly. We were very particular that we wanted a very personal and non-religious ceremony and Jemelle absolutely delivered. We got so many compliments on our ceremony and there was not a dry eye in the place.
After the wedding, Jemelle quickly sent in our wedding certificate, even sending us a confirmation with the tracking number! She then helped me figure out how to get a copy of our filed certificate quickly from the courthouse.
She was so helpful and we couldn't recommend her more. Our ceremony was so wonderful and we couldn't have imagined a better day.

I cannot even begin to share how much love I have for Jemelle and what a genuinely perfect ceremony she created for us! We had an unfortunate incident with my father-in-law having a seizure right before the ceremony, and Jemelle was a such a comfort during the scary incident. She stayed a bit late even though she had another wedding to perform after ours and promised not to leave until we could make it official. All of our guests could feel the love and that had so much to do with the beautiful words she had to say. She really captured us and we were an out-of-town wedding that I had never actually met her. She also checked in with me the next day to make sure my father in law was ok. Luckily he is!! Her kindness and sincerely beautiful energy really did save the day. I could not recommend her services enough!

We chose Jemelle as our officiant because she looked SO happy and joyful in the pictures at other weddings she had done! And she did a fantastic job at ours. She touched base with us several times prior to the wedding, and was open to hearing our thoughts. We asked her to incorporate a breaking of the glass ceremony, and we were both touched by the amount of research and thought she put into that part of the wedding ceremony. She was timely, pleasant to be around and flexible.

Working with Jemelle was such a pleasure. The time we spent with her during premarital counseling really developed opportunities for communication in our relationship that we were not aware of. Jemelle has been a dream to work with, and has a fantastic demeanor as an officiant.
My husband and I wrote our vows, but we were down to the gun on this one, and Jemelle was great about being flexible and waiting on us to send it to her. She also thought ahead, and printed them out for us so we could read it off a small slip of paper instead of fretting about memorizing it.
My husband is also grateful for Jemelle for talking to him while he was feeling nervous at that altar. She just spoke to him about things other than the wedding which was immensely helpful.
Jemelle made the 50+ mile drive out to rockmart, GA for the wedding rehearsal and reception. I am so glad we had a chance to work together.

I could not have chosen a better officiant than Jemelle. She is very professional and you can see she is passionate about her work. Jemelle’s words were so touching. It is that part that made our wedding extra special. I also like the way that she puts us at ease. My husband and I were so nervous and she was so patient with us, telling us to take our time. Jemelle. Is. AWESOME! We fell in love with her from the very get-go and knew that we did not want anyone else to marry us. She genuinely seemed as excited as we were about getting married and that enthusiasm never wavered. We wanted a short and sweet ceremony and she was able to provide that while still making it extremely personal, mindful, and heartfelt. She definitely understood us as individuals as well as a couple and her service reflected that to a T. We invited her and her family to party with us afterward and they all fit in with our crowd perfectly. I even had people ask me afterward how long we'd been friends. :)

Jemelle was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we first spoke on the phone, I knew she was the right officiant for our wedding. You can feel her warmth, compassion and heart through the phone. She asked all the right questions, listened to what we wanted in our ceremony, was professional and very thoughtful. The ceremony itself was one of a kind. She has us laughing, tearing up, smiling and she even threw in a Rick-Roll that our friends and guest are still talking about! Everyone involved had nothing but wonderful things to say about her, and I will recommend her for years to come.

When my wife and I were planning our wedding, it was very important for us to have an officiant who specialized in same sex weddings. When I spoke with Jemelle over the phone, I instantly knew she was the one for us. What's funny about it is she was my first and only call, lol. During our conversation, I asked if she could recommend me to a wedding coordinator and as luck would have it, her wife Maya is a wedding coordinator!! It was a win, win for us! Jemelle addressed ALL of our concerns. She was very professional and easy to talk to. Whenever I had questions, her response time was excellent! She gave great suggestions and even sent me ideas on how to write wedding vows. The vows she wrote for our ceremony was so personalized, you would've thought she knew us for years. Where do I begin. From the first contact between Jemelle and I, it was a GREAT experience. She was warm and welcoming and very easy to talk to. One thing certain was that we picked a great person to officiate our wedding! Jemelle, what can I say, she answered every question responded ever so quickly to all of my text, calls, and emails. To call our experience "Luck" is an understatement !!! We were graced with the presence of the Jemelle better known as the modern officiant and not only did she go over and beyond her actual duties of an officiant, but she made us feel like she had been with us from the beginning of our wedding journey. We considered 3 other officiants prior to us choosing her and all I can say is fate brought us all together. We obtained a quick response to our inquiry. She was flexible with our initial consultation and times. She was prompt. When she have a date and time for her services she was always prompt. She made suggestions that truly enhanced our experience for the better. Professional,polite,and prompt. We couldn't have done any better. If I didn't know better she could have been performing dual roles one as a planner because I saw her direct a few people in the party! We are grateful and a big THANK YOU!

Absolutely amazing. I actually met her through a Wedding Expo they were hosting at my job. She helped make our wedding ceremony everything we could have ever dreamt it to be. Although it was last minute and we we were both late, she was very patient with us and did an exceptional job. She's actually marrying one of our friends in May, and I'm sure many many more.

Very open minded, helpful, quick to answer, and amazing content self written. My ceremony was amazingly beautiful and well written. Many compliments on the script and on choosing such an amazing Officiant. She loved my unique unity ceremony. Loved my dogs in the ceremony. Was open minded to any changes I made to make my wedding mine and she reflected that in the script. Truely amazing and I loved working with Mrs. Wooten. I recommend her completely!

Jemelle was absolutely amazing! I couldn't have asked for a better officiant to be a part of our big day and not just a figurehead. We were really able to get to know Jemelle on a personal level and she is an incredible person. Very understanding, responsive, easy to work with, and just an all around wonderful experience. We only got compliment after compliment of the great work Jemelle did! Additionally, she was able to provide us some really great ideas to incorporate into our wedding that many of the guest want to incorporate into their lives as well! Needless to say I foresee a lot more business going her way! Thank you so much for making our day incredible!

We can't recommend Jemelle enough! She was wonderful. My husband and I were looking for someone who could perform our ceremony on pretty short notice. We had been searching for the right person for a while. As a gay couple, it was very important to us to find an officiant with whom we were comfortable with and we felt we had a connection with. Jemelle responded to my email request almost immediately and after a short telephone conversation, we knew we had found the right person. And boy were we right. Our ceremony was poignant and perfect for us. Jemelle managed to capture our story perfectly. She has a beautiful spirit and that was evident from the start.

What can I say, we LOVED Jemelle! Not only did she write a beautiful ceremony that fit perfectly for my husband and I, but she really took the time to get to know us. She was very considerate when asking our preferences on how we would like to be pronounced etc. She was well spoken, poised, kind and kept it very lighthearted.
My husband and I consider ourselves to be very liberal and it was important to me to make adjustments to a traditional ceremony. We didn't want any mention of god or religion. I did not want to be asked "who gives this bride away". We asked to not be referred to as man and wife, but as husband and wife. While it may seem that these are arbitrary requests, it was something that meant a lot to my husband and I that Jemelle was so considerate and obliged to not include these items.
If you're looking for someone that goes above and beyond to make your ceremony tailored specifically to you, look no further!

We just had the quick signing of the license, so our interaction was super simple and quick. She responded immediately to my emails and we were able to setup a convenient time and place quickly... this was most important to me. Everyone else online seems so complicated and like they want to throw a big shindig for you... and so many people like me just need an officiant to seal the deal.

So I was held responsible for finding someone to marry my wife and I. I had been searching day in and day out. I finally came across Jemelle's website and less than 5 minutes I said to myself "she is marrying us". So I spoke to my wife about she and her services. My wife was instantly intrigued as well. So of course we met up discussed services and my wife's and I history. Thereafter, we were more comfortable with the decision we made. Overall from the beginning to the "I do's" Jemelle was very punctual, communicative, professional, patient, and down to earth.
