Lucas was great, I had no idea where to start when it came to looking for songs for our wedding. His questionnaire was very helpful since it let him know what I was looking for with what type of vibes I wanted so when it came to the dance floor playlist he nailed it. Like usual, many people requested songs and Lucas always ran it by me before playing something crazy (ie Cotton Eyed Joe). I would recommend Lucas to anyone, he’s fun, professional and knows how to keep the energy up! -

Their setlist is always fantastic—perfectly balanced to keep the energy high and the crowd engaged. We had the absolute pleasure of having Lucas play at our June wedding at The 1774 Inn. His acoustic guitar and vocals created the perfect atmosphere for our dinner party wedding and truly elevated the entire experience.
Lucas managed the day seamlessly (and even got to work beside his talented wife Kelcey of K. Marie Events as our day of coordinator 🤍), navigating intermittent rain showers and multiple locations for our ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner. We loved that he offered a thoughtful mix of live acoustic and recorded music. There was something for everyone in attendance.
If you’re looking for music that feels both heartfelt and unforgettable, we cannot recommend him enough. We can’t wait to catch more of his local performances! Thanks Lucas!! -

We’ve been fans of The Middle Men for a long time, and having them play at our wedding was an absolute dream come true! They brought the energy all night long and had everyone on the dance floor—including my 10-year-old little brother who was crowd surfing! Lucas went above and beyond, surprising us with a beautiful acoustic set during cocktail hour, even though we hadn’t requested it.
From start to finish, he expertly guided the flow of the reception, and in between sets, the band was so much fun to hang out with. We love them even more now and would recommend The Middle Men to anyone looking for an unforgettable wedding experience... and as a bonus, check them out around town, you'll probably see a bunch of their newest fans & friends made at our wedding!The Middle Men's reply:

If I could recommend everyone to work with Lucas and the Middle Men band I would! They were absolutely amazing to work with from the start to the very last song played on the dance floor. We began speaking with Lucas and he worked with us through our timeline, budget and desired songs. We decided to go with a 3 piece Jazz band for our cocktail hour which added such a great musical element to welcome our guests. Then moving into the dinner portion of the evening we had the 4 piece band. Lucas helped us with our flow of the evening with speeches and first dances it all worked so perfectly. Then when it was time to party the band really turned it up!! Their flow and song selection was perfect and kept everyone on the dance floor all night long!! I even had a special request for the last song to close out the night and the Middle Men made it happen. We could not recommend this band more everyone should book them as they will create such a memorable time for your event and guests!!The Middle Men's reply:

The Middle Men were the ultimate professionals on our wedding day. We did not have to worry about a thing as they set up an acoustic set for the ceremony and a rocking band set for our reception. The song choice was impeccable and had our guests dancing all night long. The vocals and guitar by Lucas during the ceremony was beautiful and helped to have the whole audience in tears. With a three year engagement the Middle Men were flexible with payment schedule, and patient with us during the entire planning process. We could not recommend them more. They even played some original songs along the way and they were amazing!! -

Lucas and his band were awesome to work with. Lucas was super responsive throughout the process and answered any questions that I had. He was flexible with my detailed timeline for the day and did everything he could to accommodate my requests. The band played for our ceremony and did such a good job learning our requested songs. They also killed it with our first dance song, We're so happy we found them and will be recommending them to anyone looking for a band.The Middle Men's reply:

The music for our wedding was super important to us, so we took a lot of time to choose a wedding band and are SO HAPPY we went with The Middle Men. From our young cousins to our college friends to our older family members, EVERYONE was on the dance floor all night long. They were responsive, played the music we loved and even learned specific songs for special moments. Not only was it amazing for dancing, but having the extra touch of live music during the ceremony, made it that much more intimate. We pivoted to the Middle Men after our original wedding band went out of business due to COVID. While we were sad for the misfortune of the original band, it ended up being the BIGGEST blessing in disguise, as we cannot imagine having any other band play at our wedding.
Lucas was incredible to work with from day 1. We hopped on multiple calls throughout our time working with the Middle Men- to chat through what we envisioned for the day, musical selections, etc. Every conversation with Lucas was helpful and put us more and more at ease through what can be an incredibly stressful planning process. When it came to the wedding day, Lucas and his team worked flawlessly with our planner (Pinch Me Planning), and executed perfectly on what we had discussed prior. Lucas bent over backwards to make sure we had the perfect day.
Now for the dance floor- The Middle Men kept our large wedding on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. They played the best mix of music- from oldies, to amazing 90s jams, to hip-hop (our guests are still talking about their rendition of The Real Slim Shady- it was incredible). We had SO many guests - spanning several generations - come up to us afterwards (and over email and text) to tell us that it was the best wedding band they've ever heard, and we totally agree.
The Middle Men truly made our wedding- it just would not have been the same without them. Lucas was a dream to work with and we cannot recommend them enough! Thank you Lucas and TMM! -

My wife and I hired Lucas and The Middle Men to play at our wedding on Peaks Island. They were awesome. They helped us stay organized in the weeks leading up to the wedding. They were early getting to the venue and even relocated after the ceremony to be in a better location for our cocktail hour. They really helped create a friendly, laid back vibe that we were looking for at our wedding. Lucas is a close friend of ours so hiring him and his band was a no brainer for our big day. They exceeded expectations in every category! All of our friends and family couldn't stop talking about how fun it was to sing and dance along with a live band and it really got the energy up during our reception. My husband (the groom) even crowd surfed at one point! They played all of our favorite songs and even learned a few new ones at our request. I couldn't be happier with our experience. I would highly recommend Lucas Roy and the Middle Man for a wedding band (or any occasion). We live in the Portland area so we were able to hear them play quite a few times before our wedding, every time it made us that much more excited for our day. Lucas Mc’d the event perfectly, the guys learned quite a few new songs for us, and they rocked the entire night. We were absolutely delighted with the set list and they made a perfect playlist for our style of songs when they weren’t playing. We even requested they learn With Me by Sum 41 for our first dance and they crushed that too! Honestly, we would 10,000% recommend them over and over. Our guests still tell us it was the best wedding music they have experienced. If you are lucky enough to have Lucas, Brad, Ryan, and Cody play your wedding you won’t sit down from the moment dinner is over until you’re begging them for “5 more songs”. I am SO glad we had The Middle Men at our wedding! They were incredible. Literally from the first phone call through the wedding day, Lucas and his team made us feel completely relaxed and taken care of. Planning a wedding during COVID was not easy, but Lucas and The Middle Men were super enthusiastic about playing our wedding and we were so grateful! I am a bit of a music snob and was really stressed about having a bad DJ; SO not our vibe! The Middle Men were perfect. They played an incredible set and everyone had an incredible time, seriously. I wouldn't have had it any other way! 10/10 would recommend having The Middle Men at your wedding! PS. Lucas played acoustic for our ceremony before the reception and it was BEAUTIFUL! -

My husband and I hired The Middle Men for our wedding last weekend and both agree that it was the best money we spent for the entire weekend. The band was amazing and absolutely killed every song, even Britney Spears, like what?! Amazing! The Middle Men did an awesome job at my wedding. They were easy to communicate with before the wedding and had no problem set up at our unique venue. The music played during happy hour was really nice and set the mood. Once they started playing at the reception, no one stopped dancing until the reception was over. My guests loved them and were really impressed. Their song list had a really good variety of songs too. I would definitely hire them again!The Middle Men's reply:

Rhiannon Sent on 06/13/2018I cannot recommend the Middle Men enough. Not only are Lucas and the guys super organized, responsive and flexible, but they are ridiculously talented as well. We wanted our wedding to be the party of the year, and thanks to the Middle Men, we delivered! We had so many people tell us how awesome and fun they were and even had folks trying to bribe them to keep playing at the end of the night! They play a great range of songs that get everyone dancing, and even learned some songs by request too. We also had Lucas play during our ceremony and he was amazing. We didn't provide much direction, but he knew exactly what to play to make our ceremony special. If you are thinking about booking these guys, definitely do it!
