From the very first announcement to the final song of the night, he brought incredible energy, professionalism, and flawless execution. The BEST experience!!!

We had a very unique wedding, blending Swiss and African-American traditions and needed a DJ who could understand and honor both sides of our story. TMOTC crushed it.
From the moment we met with Adolphus and the team, they took the time to truly understand our cultures, our families, and our vision. DJ LUIS was a godsend, effortlessly mixing Afrobeat, house, R&B, Swiss pop, and soul. He kept both sides of the family engaged, dancing, and smiling all night.
He took time to learn how to pronounce our family names correctly for announcements. Those small touches MATTER. There were so many emotional moments where we looked around and saw our guests, black, white, young, old… all moving together to the same rhythm.

Awesome Service!

From the moment we arrived at the Historic Mankin Mansion, we knew it was going to be a magical day and TMOTC helped make sure of it. The music for our ceremony was flawless. We were most worried whether our reception would be a real PARTY... and when I tell you everyone from my grandmother to my best friends stayed on the floor ALL NIGHT!

Our guests were OBSESSED with the selfie station. People were lining up all night to take pictures, and it gave everyone something fun to do between dances. The surprise star of the show was the audio guestbook. We were initially unsure if we’d use it much, but we’ve been listening to messages from friends and family ever since the wedding and laughing, crying, and replaying the love.

Adolphus and his team were kind, responsive, and professional every step of the way. TMOTC is elite.

Amazing DJ!

The Masters of the Ceremony were absolutely amazing! Adolphus and his team took our all-over-the-place playlist and turned it into the perfect vibe that had everyone — from ages 30 to 80 — out on the dance floor all night long. We got so many compliments from guests about how much they loved the music. Adolphus was truly a hit!

We also can’t recommend their elevated photo booth experience enough. Our guests had an absolute blast bouncing between the dance floor and the photo booth — it added so much fun and energy to the night. Truly one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!

We had DJ Lindwood Butler for our wedding, and he was absolutely phenomenal! From start to finish, he brought so much energy, fun, and life to our celebration. He truly knew how to keep the party going — the dance floor was packed the entire night, and we’re still getting compliments from guests saying he was the best wedding DJ they’ve ever heard.

His song selection, ability to read the crowd, and seamless transitions made the night feel effortless and unforgettable. Magic was made on August 29th, 2025!!

We had our wedding on August 29th, 2025….. The Masters of The Ceremony lived up to and beyond their name!! The vibe they set for the reception was amazing! The ceremony music was on point and exactly how my wife and I envisioned! Adolphus even did a little mix for me that i needed for my entrance song!! TMOTC were very easy to work with and contact! Questions were answered abruptly and professionally. The final “talk through” for our wedding day music was very smooth and communication was clear and concise. Honestly, i don’t think we could have hired a better company to service our wedding day! They are just awesome and we received numerous compliments on the DJ, all in which were forwarded to TMOTC! The day was just memorable as any day I’ve ever had and TMOTC gave it their all to make it that way. The audio guestbook was amazing as well as dancing on the clouds. Overall experience with The Matters of the Ceremony 100/100!! One of One!!! Best in the area for sure! You will not be disappointed. Thank you TMOTC for such a magical night!

Just do it!

We are still riding the high from our wedding, and a huge part of that is thanks to The Masters of Ceremony! From start to finish, they brought the energy, kept the vibes just right, and absolutely nailed the music selections all night long.
They knew exactly how to read the room and keep the party moving every single song felt like a perfect choice. Our guests were on the dance floor nonstop, and so many people told us how much they loved the music and the overall atmosphere TMOC helped create. Their presence, professionalism, and ability to hype the crowd made the entire night unforgettable.
We also had their audio guest book, which was such a unique and fun touch our guests loved leaving messages and it's something we’ll cherish forever. And let’s talk about the “dancing on the clouds” effect for our first dance… absolutely magical! It felt like a fairytale moment and looked incredible in photos and video!

A DJ Service that Makes You Feel Like Family

Working with The Masters of the Ceremony was a 5-star experience from start to finish!

My (now) wife and I initially reached out to Adolphus about ten months before our wedding, at which point he promptly set up a meeting to answer all our questions and provide a detailed breakdown of services and pricing. He also discussed the music selection process and how to use the company’s app (which was super easy) to create a playlist that could effortlessly be tailored to our preferences and tastes. The app was also a valuable organizational tool and helped us piece together our timeline for the ceremony and reception.

Our DJ was Juan, and he absolutely killed it during our wedding! We first met with him virtually the week of to go over our playlist and timeline and to ensure that the songs we’d uploaded to the app were the versions he’d be playing during the ceremony/reception. His DJ skills and professionalism were apparent from the time he showed up at the venue (well before any of the guests arrived) to set up, embodying nothing but calm energy to counteract the natural stress of the day. He could flawlessly read the room during the reception and push and pull the energy as needed when the dance floor opened up to our guests. Several guests later told us that our wedding was super fun, all thanks to DJ Juan and the rest of the team.

As an unexpected bonus, the company threw in an added feature—a phone that recorded our guests’ messages to us at no additional cost! All in all, my wife and I are beyond impressed with TMOTC and would 100% recommend that you book them for your event!

The Wedding of the Century Thanks to TMOTC

Adolphus (aka Danja) was simply outstanding! From start to finish, he had our wedding guests on their feet, dancing all night long. His transitions were incredibly smooth, and his ability to read the crowd was spot-on. No matter the vibe, he knew exactly when to switch it up and keep the party going. His attention to detail and the way he could pivot seamlessly when needed made all the difference.

Throughout the planning process, Adolphus and his team were incredibly prepared and responsive. Their professionalism and inclusiveness really stood out, especially during our consultation. The presentation was thoughtful, with our names featured and same-sex couples throughout, making us feel seen and respected. It’s rare to find a vendor who genuinely cares and goes the extra mile to get everything just right.

We also opted to get an audio guestbook from TMOTC for our wedding, and we cannot recommend it enough!! We’ve received the most heartfelt and memorable messages from our guests. It was such a special touch that added to the lasting memories of our day.

Masterful DJ's, Lively Party

We highly recommend The Masters of the Ceremony. They were exactly what we envisioned for our wedding day. You can tell they are very passionate about music and making sure their clients have an excellent time. Their DJs have a lot of experience with big events and reading the crowd. We had DJ Luis at our wedding. He was fantastic. He really knew how to get the party started, and he kept everyone on the dance floor the whole time. Everyone seemed to have so much fun, and you could tell DJ Luis was as well. We loved his ability to mix songs and smoothly transition. He also did a great job MCing and getting everyone hyped for the wedding party's grand entrance.
Leading up to the wedding, it was easy to communicate with them. They allowed us to put songs in an app for each section of the wedding so they knew what types of songs we liked. While DJ Luis was able to read the room well and know what songs to play, it was nice to be able to let him know specific songs that we really enjoyed and wanted to be played.

Hire them!!!

Listen to me, hire them!!! You will not regret it. Our wedding was this past weekend and Danja as our DJ went above and beyond our expectations. He was super professional and took his job very seriously.
He kept the party going all night and played music for everyone in our crowd. No only was the music on point, but he also provided Cold Sparklers, Dancing on a Cloud and the Audio Phone Guestbook. Absolutely top tier quality service. We have received so many compliments from our guest. Everyone enjoyed our wedding and it’s because the Master of Ceremony (Danja Mowf) did his thing. ABSOLUTELY the BEST DJ you can EVER ask for! From the professionalism to the party. Exceptional DJ

The best team!

I couldn't recommend a better entertainment team! We met TMOTC at a bridal show and let them know that we were looking for a DJ that had experience with Spanish music and specific genres within this category. We were directed to Luis who we had an instant connection with! He demonstrated knowledge in the music we were asking about, and talked to us some about how he would read the crowd to give us the best experience! We picked a package that also came with a photo booth, which was the best decision! I will talk about the photo booth as well.

Leading up to the wedding we were introduced to a planning app where we were able to pick specific music for events such as the entrances, bouquet toss, and dancing. We also had a planning call with Luis the week of where we had the opportunity to discuss all of the plans and expectations for the wedding's music. Luis was well prepared, and had great ideas of how we could get the crowd to participate in the wedding!

The day of the wedding went by PERFECTLY with this team. Everything about the music and sound was perfect, and the photo booth attendants were a highlight of the event! Everyone raved about this entertainment team, and I cannot recommend them enough! Thank you TMOTC!

TMOTC is the DJ you want!

The Masters of The Ceremony did such a great job at our wedding I would recommend them for any event! Not only do they offer an MC & DJ but we also utilized their smoke machine and photobooth, both which were a hit with the guests!
DJ Wood did a great job & kept everyone dancing throughout the entire wedding! He was able to adjust to our rainy back up schedule without issue and was such a pleasure to work with.
Kaila managed the photobooth and did an amazing job! She got all the right photos, had special props for bride & groom and made us a wedding photo book from the pictures.

If you’re looking for a DJ & photo booth in one, look no further cause Adolphus & Kaila were absolutely amazing!!! TMOC-The Masters of the Ceremony! This right here was an amazing experience! They made the planning process so easy with the app they use for you to input all your requested songs & special moments. It was so easy to fill out and we could keep going back and adding as we thought of things. And that in its own removed a lot of pressure off us! We had the opportunity to have one of Richmond best DJ MARC J and his assistant! They kept the party hype the whole time & played the best songs! He supplied the music and sound for the wedding ceremony and the reception and it was amazing! He kept the pressure off the bride and myself by keeping everyone entertained why we tried to get to greet everyone! The photo booth was a blast & the pictures came out so good!!! Kaila and her team were amazing and on it! They were busy the entire night, so good to see! So many guests came up to us & told us how awesome the DJ & Photo Booth was which made us so happy to know our guests were having a great time. Kept the energy high!

Adolphus was AMAZING! My husband and I were a little concerned with choosing a DJ because we understood how crucial they are to the feel of the night, but we were not disappointed. The photo booth was a hit with our guests and the music was amazing. The Masters of the Ceremony have an app that you can easily input all of your song requests before the wedding and then you meet with your assigned DJ the week before your wedding to walk through the flow. He didn’t miss a single cue and really made the night feel special. There were a lot of shifts in the schedule throughout the night, but he was able to react well and keep folks happy (like when we had to step out for a few minutes for pictures, he was able to get people up and dancing). Highly recommend!

Book this DJ & Photobooth!!!!

If you’re looking for a DJ & photo booth, look no further! Adolphus & Kaila we’re absolutely amazing!!! They made the planning process so easy with the app they use for you to input all your requested songs & special moments. It was so easy to fill out and we could keep going back and adding as we thought of things. We had a contest for our bridal party to have the best entrance and they took it and ran with it. They kept the party hype the whole time & played the best songs! The photo booth was a blast & the pictures came out so good!!! I loved getting the guest book they made for us & well as all the digital copies of the pics. So many guests came up to us & told us how awesome the DJ was which made us so happy to know our guests were having a great time. Do yourself a favor and book with them, you will have the best wedding entertainment!!!

Motc get the party going!

It was such a pleasure having Adolphus and Woods as the DJ's at our wedding. They were so great to work with. They have this awesome app that makes choosing music SO easy. Adolphus and TMOTC team are AMAZING and did a phenomenal job for our wedding. Masters of the Ceremony - Best in Class

Masters of the Ceremony has a great process from first contact through the completion of your event. They went the extra mile to make sure microphones and speakers were in the appropriate places the day of. This required Luis to come out an hour earlier than planned to make sure everything was right. This type of attention to detail and willingness to go the extra mile for my wedding is exactly the energy we need to put together the type of day that friends and family will remember forever.
I appreciated the personality he brought to the MC side of things. It was awesome to get everybody involved throughout the evening. My songs suggestions "dos and donts" was used throughout the night, and I put in multiple requests during the night and Luis was able to play them all. I cannot say enough good things about Luis and Christine and their ability to control the crowd and keep the dance floor jumping for several hours.

I also had a special send off request and it turned out great. Thanks again to Masters of the Ceremony for being Best in Class providers for DJ and MC services for my wedding.

Awesome DJ

DJ Chuck was awesome!!! He kept the dance floor moving all night long! Everyone had a blast dancing! He did very well with announcements. The speaker system to the venue (The venues issue, not his) went out at one point when trying to tell everyone to move upstairs for dinner, so he personally came down and started asking people to move upstairs. He did a wonderful job of following through on all of our requests. He beautifully pulled off surprising the groom with a special recorded song for the groom and mother of groom dance. He also was easy to work with for our friend who sang two songs at our wedding. It really was a magical night and a very fun party. You won’t regret hiring Masters of the Ceremony!

Absolutely Amazing

An absolute blast.

Adolphus from Masters of Ceremony was AMAZING. Everyone had an absolute blast. My photographer gave me the best advice -- "Definitely get a DJ. They help control the vibe and are able to read the room and act accordingly." That's exactly what he did. It was insanely fun and well-coordinated from start to finish. I can't imagine going with any other vendor or, even more horrifying, NOT getting a DJ.

Hiring TMOTC was the best thing I could have done for my wedding!!!

TMOTC was everything PLUS more. I received the Master Wedding Dj package and I would advise everyone to do so. I had no worries and TMOTC greatly help make my wedding the best. TMOTC is Amazing!

Adolphus and the Masters of the Ceremony team were hands down amazing at our 5-22-2021 wedding!
We couldn’t have asked for better communication and professionalism throughout the planning of the wedding. Their communication and work with our wedding planner were seamless and productive which translated to perfect execution on wedding day. My wife and I were really impressed with how much care and attention was shown to make sure that the music and tone was exactly what we wanted. Our wedding attendees ranged from their 20s to 80s and we had various styles of music we were interested in for our party and there was definitely a party atmosphere! DJ Danjamowf read the room throughout the night and kept folks on the dancefloor! The team also came through for us in a clutch to provide streaming service for our gusts who could not attend due to COVID occupancy restrictions – this worked really well and didn’t require anything other than a Facebook account. The lighting that was provided and the projection of our monogram were just extra special touches that really added to the atmosphere of the night.
Amazing energy and awesome professionalism- our expectations were exceeded, and we would definitely book again for other functions. TMOTC is the real deal, and we highly recommend them!

The best DJ and Photobooth experience!

We had the best experience with Adolphus and TMTC! I admit we were a bit hesitant at first because the price seemed too reasonable and we worried there must be a catch, but don't think twice about hiring TMTC. We hired them for DJ and photobooth services and are still getting nonstop compliments about our incredible dance party and how much of a blast the photobooth was! The team could not have been more communicative and supportive throughout the entire process. I am an extremely type A bride and TMTC was organized and detail oriented throughout. I would absolutely recommend TMTC to any couple.

Louise was an AMAZING wedding DJ for our May 1st wedding. He was capturing every moment through music by reading the crowd and very organized to make sure he didn't miss any song we requested. Mind blowing! 🤯

My wife put me in charge of booking the DJ so when I found the website and saw the videos I felt like the personality of this company matched our personality. When I considered hiring a DJ the only thing I was really thinking about was having a great party, what I didn't consider was all of the other things that a great DJ company brings to a wedding event. It was evident that these guys knew their venues, and had an exceptional amount of experience in doing these types of events. During our initial consultation Adolphus spoke knowledgeably about the nuances like distance to the power and even knowing what power outlets were not working at the venue it was mind-blowing.

I didn't think we needed lapel microphones but I'm so glad that we got them for the ceremony because everyone could hear everything clearly and it was enjoyable for our guests, and lapel microphones and a microphone for the reader was included in our package, which I didn't even realize. I'll admit that I was trying to simply fulfill my responsibility for booking the DJ, but these guys made me look like I personally did more work than I did! They pulled together the playlist for the seating and the cocktail hour and the dinner, all I did was approve it! I like that we were able to have a playlist and I do not playlist but ultimately what I value in a DJ was being able to read the crowd, judge the room, and make the best decisions for what songs to play when.

I heard them say we make the soundtrack to your celebration, which sounds like a very good commercial AD slogan, but on the day of our wedding the music was so spot on that it felt just like that! When the mood needed to be sentimental it was and when it was time to party the hits just kept coming! We definitely want to thank DJ Don Juan for his excellent reading of the crowd. Our guests are still talking about what a great party OUR wedding was and out of all of the weddings that we have gone to for other friends, I'm proud to say that WE own the all-time title of having the best party at OUR wedding! What's better than that?

I would have to write five more paragraphs about the photo booth experience. You know how those photo booths attendants just sit down and basically make sure you don't break things? That's what I had been used to, BUT these guys work! Book the DJ/Photo booth package and you'll be super glad you did like I was.

A professional and perfect party!

The Masters of the Ceremony and Dj Nathan Williams were fantastic to work with from the beginning. The process of curating our playlist and do not playlist online was perfect, and they were great walking us through any questions we had with the process.

Nathan did a fantastic job keeping guests on the dance floor all night, and fielding requests that only matched what we wanted. We knew hiring a great DJ could make or break our day, and all our guests afterwards could not stop raving about how much fun they had! TMOTC will NOT disappoint!

Our guests were impressed!!

They had me at hello!! Masters of Ceremonies exceeded my expectations with my daughter’s wedding reception. At our initial meeting they were professional, informative and very personable. As the mother of the bride I didn’t want to overwhelmed or bothered the day of the wedding. I simply wanted my daughter to be wowed and our guests impressed. And Adolphus did just that! They handled their business. Our guests enjoyed themselves and my daughter couldn’t stop talking about how much fun she had dancing all night long. Highly recommend!

The saying is true that a ‘happy wife makes a happy life’. They definitely made my wife smile, laugh and grin from ear to ear! They came ahead of time and had everything set up long before any guests started to arrive. Our guests were entertained, which was extremely important especially during this time. I also appreciate the fact that they had on masks and cared about our safety. Adolphus was professional, personable and very attentive to the guests. He kept us on the dance floor all night long! Best choice ever

I used Masters of the ceremony for our wedding and they were excellent! Adolphus was very attentive to our needs, played every song from our list and our guests requests. He is very personable and commanded the rooms attention with his humor when we did our introductions. He bought his wife with the PhotoBooth and she has the best photobooth with the most props I have ever used. I would highly recommend them for your wedding needs!

Making A dream come true!

Our experience with The Masters of the Ceremony was phenomenal from start to finish. Adolphus made sure that everything was perfect for my daughter, Micah and her husband , Tristen . Amazing professional service

As with many couples in 2020, we were affected by COVID restrictions. The Masters of the Ceremony were very flexible in transitioning to incorporate services that were more COVID friendly. We were able to move to a no touch photo booth and they even added on a virtual photo booth with our own custom domain name! Because we were not able to use some of our booked services they gladly exchanged for an upgrade in lighting, so we were able to get up lighting for the entire room. With everything they didn’t go as planned, it was very comforting to have a vendor who was able to pivot and offer so many exceptional services. Do not hesitate to book these guys!

Perfection in a Pandemic

September

This year was definitely NOT AS PLANNED, and especially frustrating for something as planned as a wedding. The Masters were one of our top vendors that helped us to pivot our services as we had to cut our guest count. They added the perfect streaming services for our ceremony with three camera angles which we were able to keep! TMOTC added a virtual photo booth for our guests that couldn’t attend to be able to participate on their phones.

The full service was professional from Monique's scheduling, Adolphus’ coordination, and the execution of our Djs Juan and Nate on the day of. We always felt like we had a dedicated team of people making sure everything would be as perfect as it could be inside of a pandemic. Even though dancing wasn’t promoted, our guests still found it hard to stay in their seats during the reception. We also received several compliments about the music so undoubtedly The Masters of the Ceremony was one of the best decisions we made as they totally exceeded our expectations!

Our Dark Twisted Fantasy

Our Halloween wedding wasn’t typical to say the least! We wanted a Dark twisted fantasy and The Masters of the Ceremony delivered on ALL elements. Dj Don Juan & Adolphus included an orchestral Halloween soundtrack for our ceremony. Our photo booth overlay was a perfect combination of skulls and roses and the photo booth ladies brought the PARTY! I’ve never seen photo booth attendants work this hard! Awesome! We simply love our photo guestbook with all of our guest pictures. We got the Selfie mirror during the cocktail hour and dinner which captured more informal fun shots!

We also got uplighting which totally helped to create the perfect mood. During the dinner they curated the perfect playlist that captured the feeling of “Till Death do us Part!” We sent a Spotify party list and requested the explicit versions. OMG the party was LIT! The hotel had to put us out as we went over our time! Such a great party, with a kick @ss vendor... my dark twisted fantasy fulfilled!

Amazing DJs and great people to work with

I would 100% recommend The Masters of the Ceremony. They were very responsive and easy to work with. They were receptive and flexible when working with me especially with changes required due to COVID-19. And took extra effort to make sure we were comfortable with the set-up and how the evening was run. Even though we opted not to have a dancefloor, our DJ did an excellent job of reading the room and playing music to match. We had several comments from guests saying that they enjoyed the music. I would use them again in the future.

My wedding!

I could have not asked for better DJ’s than the Masters of the Ceremony! DJ Adolphus and DJ Wood Butler were absolutely fantastic. They had the difficult task of mixing Lebanese, Bosnian, and American music to make sure all of our cultures were included and they did it seamlessly! All of my family and friends loved them. Adolphus even joined in on some of the dancing! On top of the music being on point, they made sure the buffet line was flowing and then took some amazing videos as well . I could not be happier with how things turned out and I would recommend them 1000 times over!

The Perfect Soundtrack

We could not have been more pleased with Adolphus and The Masters of the Ceremony. His flexibility with delayed responses on my part and the fiasco that was our venue's "day of planner" really showed his strength of character and devotion to his craft. His MC skills and choice of music throughout the night kept everyone on their feet, even those guests who never take to the dance floor! I could not have imaged the evening going any better. He read the crowd perfectly and even catered to the whims of our parents and relatives. The photobooth run by his wife was also a hit, so much so that even the bartenders and caterers participated. They helped us to design a beautiful label for our photo-strips and to chose a background that went with our color scheme. She was very hands on in helping move the line along and to help people get the best pictures they could. It would not have been the successful event that it was without both Adolphus and the photobooth there. Afterward, they even provided me with their raw and edited video footage and a folder with all the photobooth images of the evening. I didn't hire a videographer so this gift was just that much more special. I sincerely thank them for all they did and highly recommend their services without any reservation. We could not have been happier.

Adophus and his team at Masters of the Ceremony are truly awesome - we are so glad that we chose them for music and lighting services!! Within minutes of talking to Adolphus we knew he was equal parts professional, experienced, and passionate about what he does. We knew we were in good hands right away!

Adolphus provided us with music services that truly made the wedding reception a PARTY - with eclectic, fun, and crowd-pleasing music selections. Our guests had a blast!

Ladies and gentlemen... when I tell you that the DJ is arguably one of the most important vendors you can hire on your wedding day... I mean it. Your guest will most likely not remember the food or the linens you spent so much time choosing but they will remember how much of a good time they had. TMOC and DJ Adolphus made our wedding ceremony/reception one to remember! He was flexible, offered solid advice as I struggled through choosing our songs, and made sure he catered to all our guests- from our college friends to the aunties and grandparents. Our friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had! He truly went above and beyond- and even captured some great video footage from the night. Thank you again TMOC for everything! Awesome!

Without a doubt, The Masters of the Ceremony was the best choice for our cocktail and reception DJ. Our venue provided a DJ, but we were certain the energy we were seeking for our wedding reception would be met by TMOTC. Danja was easy to communicate with through email or text, throughout the entire planning process. The week of we had a facetime meeting with Danja and discussed our music for the reception and the flow of the evening. TMOTC exceeded our expectations and kept the dance floor going all night. All generations from our parents, aunts and uncles to our friends were all partying and having a great time together. Our guests are still excited and telling us how this was the best wedding and reception they’d attended. Thank you Danja and TMOTC for your professionalism, energy and awesome service. I’d recommend and book with you again and again.

A++++ Amazing Service

We used the Masters of Ceremony for dj services and Adolphus was our dj. The service we received was amazing from start to finish. It was because of Adolphus' professionalism that we also chose to hire his photobooth company (MMG photobooth). Each interaction that we had was professional and friendly so I had no doubt that he was going to make our wedding memorable. Like a typical bride I was making requests and changes just days before the wedding and his flexibility was remarkable. I know for a fact that if we need to hire a dj or rent a photobooth again I will definitely be going back to the Masters of Ceremony.

Absolute best dj!

Beyond a doubt, Masters of Ceremony absolutely CRUSHED it at our wedding.

First and foremost, the DJ—Adolphus Maples was perfect with the timing and tempo of every aspect of the ceremony and reception. From the bride walking down the aisle to the bridal party introduction and first dance, not a moment was wasted and absolutely nothing was rushed or unnecessarily slowed down. During the wedding reception, Adolphus has everyone up and dancing the entire time. Our only requirement when we booked him was, “we want everyone to be dancing and having a great time.” On this point, he absolutely killed it.

In addition, we also booked the photobooth through Masters of Ceremony. We thought this would be a fun way for people to make lasting memories and to have a tangible photo they can take home. When we booked, my wife and I envisioned a simple photobooth. Nothing too crazy, but something that checked the boxes. We couldn’t have been more wrong. What they set-up went above and beyond what we could have ever asked for. In addition to a backdrop and camera, Masters of Ceremony had two photobooth assistants helping with poises, giving everyone props and hats, and of course—occasionally ‘making it rain.’

Overall, Masters of Ceremony through the DJ service and the photobooth helped to provide such an important component of our wedding. They didn’t just deliver a product—they delivered an experience. I would absolutely recommend them for any wedding, party, or family get together that requires a DJ!

Seamless service

We had the best experience working with Adolphus and his team this past weekend. Not only was he prompt, attentive and communicative leading up to the big day as we planned with the couple, but executed a flawless ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. His team was very professional and made our jobs as coordinator's easy, being excellent emcee's throughout the event. The reception was a small crowd and a mixed age group, but Adolphus had no issue keeping the energy high and the dance floor rocking all night! Our clients were thrilled. We would definitely recommend their DJ (and photobooth) services to anyone.

Excellent DJ and Hype Man

My husband and I booked Danja as a dj for my wedding. He was awesome and our guests loved how he kept them entertained while on the mic. He has an electric personality and really enjoys his career. One of the best surprises was that he actually put together a small highlight video of our wedding reception : ) I had no idea he took the footage! I also got to follow-up with him post-wedding to get his thoughts on other wedding related items. He is easy to talk to and work with. If you choose him, you will be glad you did!

Best DJ Ever!

I will have to say I was thoroughly surprised with how good the DJ was. Every song played was what WE wanted. Everything was executed perfectly from the Ceremony to Cocktail Hour to the Reception. Do not hesitate in booking, Danja is the real deal!

DJ and Photobooth

Our DJ, Danja Mowf, was incredible! He was so excited about providing the entertainment for our reception that it made us even more excited than we already were. He listened to exactly what we wanted regarding music and he definitely delivered the day of. He played non-stop incredible music that had people singing and dancing the entire time. His MC skills are also great. He was so creative with helping us put together our wedding party reception entrance that folks are still talking about it! He checked in with us throughout the evening to see if there was anything that we wanted him to play and he listened to the request of our guests and made the music flow throughout the night!

The photo booth was also amazing. There was always a line of people waiting to get in there and a few guests went to the booth more than once. The attendants are great!! They made sure that everyone was having a good time and that they took great pictures! They even but together a guest book for us with some of the photos from the booth and presented it to us before the end of the reception! We were provided the link to all of the photos taken within a couple days following our wedding! All of the guests were emailed link were they could access their own photos immediately after the photos were taken.

I would definitely use this company again. They got the party started and kept it going all night. Our goal was to have people up out of their seats and Danja Mowf definitely helped to make this happen for us!

Amazing Experience

We had a multicultural wedding and I was concerned about making sure all of the different cultures of family and friends would be covered. The masters of the ceremony came highly rated... and we quickly found out why! The response times to our messages was always quick, and the help with music and ensuring that my bride felt totally at ease before the wedding was all covered. Adolphus stayed in complete contact and Juan was an awesome Dj the night of. We even booked his wife for the photo booth which was an epic experience as well! The week of the wedding we added on up lights and monogram which were both perfect. We had a mixed crowd but they kept everyone on the floor partying all night. It was everything that we envisioned and more, thank you Masters of the Ceremony!

Could not say enough how happy we were with the Master's of Ceremony team. Aldophus and his wife both met with us before our wedding to talk about expectations, music requests and photo booth needs. Every part of the lead up and day of were professional and above our expectations. Music and transitions were perfect and the photo booth was amazing! Adolphus was the best DJ! We have been to so many weddings in the last two years and knew exactly what we wanted for our wedding. We listen to a wide range of music and wanted to incorporate so 90s hip hop, rap and popular pop songs plus oldies on our wedding day. What was most important is that we wanted to have a big dance party and with Adolphus we definitely had that. There was not one song that we didn't enjoy dancing to and his flow of music was perfect. After the wedding we had our bridal party and tons of guests comment on not the food, flowers or the dress but how great the DJ was at reading the crowd and keeping the party going. After the details we put into it our guests remembered the dance party. He was worth every cent and kept our day smooth and wild. I hope you're still DJing in 30 years so we can host our wedding anniversary!

We are so incredibly thankful for Adolphus! Our wedding was successful thanks to him and his understanding for music! We wanted to make sure we hired someone who would play a variety of Latin, Hip Hop, Pop and Peruvian folk music. During our meetings, we explained how important this was to us and our families, and he absolutely nailed it the day of the wedding! He was really accomidating to our needs and had great song recommendations that helped get the crowd get pumped! I 100% recommend going with the Masters of the Ceremony for your wedding! You won’t be disappointed! Also, get their photobooth! My husband and I were looking around for an affordable, yet great quality photobooth vendor - we’re so glad we went with them! Adolphus killed it at our wedding! Everyone commented on how great our Dj was. He was excellent at reading the crowd and bringing energy to the room. Our wedding night turned out to be quite the dance party!!!!

I recently got married on August 26,2017 and I couldn't ask for a better Dj. MR. Adolphus was very helpful in planning out our music and knowing when it is the proper time to play certain songs. When we were looking for a DJ, I specifically told my husband that all I wanted was to dance. When I came across Adolphus, I began to realize that he would make that dream come true. He is such a kind individual and was more than accommodating. He checked in with us several times throughout the year leading up to our wedding. He also spent over an hour the week of our wedding going through every detail and name he would be introducing through the ceremony/reception. I have spoken to many of our wedding guests since our wedding in October and they all collectively have said, "Best Wedding Ever." I think Adolphus and his flexibility, energy, and ability to read the crowd had a major effect on our guests experience. I cannot express how much we enjoyed having him DJ our wedding and are already thinking of excuses to have him DJ another event.

Words can not express how happy we are that we chose Adolphus, Aka, DJ Danja Mowf as our Wedding DJ. Our wedding theme was the Caribbean and we wanted to showcase my Jamaican culture as well as my husband's Latin culture and he did an excellent job of mixing the two cultures while seamlessly taking our guests on a Caribbean adventure. From Salsa, to Merengue, to Reggae to Calypso, etc. From beginning to end he was responsive and attentive to our needs and offered suggestions along the way. We got married three months ago and our guests are still talking about what a wonderful job Adolphus did with keeping everyone on the dancefloor all night long. Out of all of the vendors we picked for our wedding, The Masters of the Ceremony were probably one of the best. Music is such a big part of your wedding and having someone who genuinely cares about providing a great experience for you on such a monumental day is so rare and special. Danja, provides that and more.

Our music was on point for both the ceremony and the reception. We had so many guests, including my mother (yes, my mother!), comment on how great the music was and how it kept everyone on the dance floor all night. People really didn't want to leave.

In addition to providing a great sound track for the evening, Danja also was our MC and having one person manage both roles was extremely helpful.

Overall, we truly enjoyed having The Masters of the Ceremony for our wedding! From the planning stage to execution to follow-up, everything was PERFECT!

Do yourself a favor and just hire the man. I interviewed 3 DJs and within 5 min of talking to him i said put me on the books! He is legit, entertaining, experienced, energetic. I was supposed to have line dancing taught at my cocktail hour, but since it didn’t happen, Adolphus got out on the dance floor and led the Cupid Shuffle and the Wobble! He had lapel mircrophones and audio recording equipment for my ceremony. He has other packages for lighting and photo booths; a real techie guy with all the good equipment that he knows how to use well. Also, he lets you text him. I found that form of communication to be helpful as we got closer to our date. He was so professional. I had a lot of trust in him which put my mind at ease. I didnt worry about that part of my wedding because i knew he had it covered. So again, i say it will be the best money you spend. Totally worth it!

Coming up on our 2 year anniversary my wife and I couldn't help noticing that we never wrote a review! Two years later and our families are still talking about how amazing our DJ was! DJ Danja did an amazing job and made sure that the sound of our special day matched our personalities. I don't believe that ANYONE could have done a better job. We ran into a bit of a crisis when we decided our original DJ wasn't going to fit our needs. With very little notice, The Masters of the Ceremony were very kind and were able to help us out last minute. The way that he seamlessly went from one song to another completely blew our minds. It was perfection. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a REAL DJ who knows how to read a room and control the vibe of the room.

If you want the best DJ and nothing less, go with TheMastersofCeremony. Hands down, they are the definition of professional, fun, and entertaining. I referred Mr. Maples to my bride and what can I say about Mr. Maples; nothing short of amazing! He was very prompt, courteous and his appearance was very professional . He did the wedding ceremony in addition to providing the reception music. He cued the music in a timely fashion always an extraordinarily important component of the wedding ceremony. In addition to the questionnaire provided on his website, Mr. Maples was quickly able to get a feel of the guests music preference and had them on the dance floor enjoying themselves! DJ Adolphus elevated all phases of my daughter's wedding and reception. We had 170+ people in attendance and most of our family raved about the DJ. Several points resonated for us. First, his attire and setup blended well into the elegance of the event. Then, the background music during the cocktail hour and dinner created a relaxing and fun ambiance. Very important, because there were so many people that we had not seen in a while. We wanted to enjoy our family, laugh, and have great conversation, and we just appreciated the oft heard refrain, "oh, I love that song." I also appreciated the fact that he understood phases. Start with some line dances to get individual's out of their chairs, some R&B / top 40 hits to allow the mature couples to dance, followed by "active" music for all of the more recent college graduates to bounce around to. All of which, by the way, appropriate to the reality that there were both grandparents and grandchildren in the room. Clearly, he was focused on universal appeal and that allowed everyone an opportunity to share in the moment. I think, perhaps more than all of these items, what really struck me most was that he was so situationally aware of what was going on during the event. He understood how the music and a few hilarious words could add to the moment, but he did it in a way that ensured that he never became the focus of the celebration. And it was small things, like the clear difference in music during the bouquet toss and the garter toss. Well, needless to say we were all totally impressed. Truth is, I served almost 30 years in the Marine Corps and have been to dozens of weddings, formal events, and galas. In all that time, I'm not sure that I've ever seen a DJ more focused on his craft. Forget the recommendation, he has my gratitude -- Dr. Mike Williams

Adolphus did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding! He was in contact with us and our planner leading up to the wedding to make sure we had sent along all details related to music. He had great recommendations when we were unsure of songs for entrance music, bouquet toss, etc.

On the wedding day, he nailed everything! He helped with ensuring our officiant was mic'd and had a separate mic for our readers. We missed the cocktail hour but heard great things from guest about the music. Once the dancing started at the reception, he played the perfect music that made it feel more like a dance party than a wedding. He hit every song we wanted and ran any "non-normal" song requests past us to make sure he didn't play music we didn't want. Our guest are still talking about how much fun the wedding was and how the music was perfect.

I strongly recommend Adolphus to anyone that's getting married and is looking for a DJ. He made our night absolutely amazing!

The Masters of the Ceremony was recommended to me by my wedding planner Kerri with Blush Events, and I cannot express enough how glad I am that I chose to go with them!! I used this company for my ceremony music as well as reception music for introductions and to play while the band we hired was on break. Honestly, my guests loved the DJ so much I think he played much longer then the band did!
Adolphus (DJ) was fun, professional, accommodating and beyond helpful with all of my song choices. He kept the crowd happy and dancing though out my reception. My husband and I didn't hire a videographer for our wedding, which is why I was speechless when Adolphus surprised me after my wedding with two custom videos he made of my reception! I would 100% recommend that any bride or persons looking for a DJ for an event choose The Masters of the Ceremony! They were better then any other DJ I have experienced of the years at other events and their customer service is unbeatable!!

I had my March 2017 wedding in Durham, NC. I hired Adolphus because my cousin went to a wedding in Richmond where he was the DJ and she said people couldn’t wait to get on the dance floor. She was not lying. Adolphus had my guests on the dance floor all night long. Nobody wanted to leave because the music was so good. A DJ is such an important part of the reception and Adolphus did not disappoint. Masters of Ceremony was amazing. We just got married yesterday but felt like we had to write this review immediately to show Masters of Ceremony the love that we felt last night. The most frequent compliment we received from our guests was how great the music was. Every song was a great song and was based on a few suggested songs from us. Adolphus is a great DJ who really understood what we wanted in terms of the vibe and music. Our guests were constantly dancing all night. Even the way he dealt with some of our more crazy guests was above and beyond what we would have expected. He was constantly professional. Pricing was very reasonable. Honestly, he is worth much more than his asking price. He is a true artist. The transitions between songs were perfect and the flow of music was amazing. There is nothing more we could have wanted from a DJ.

DJ Danja Mowf was an the perfect DJ for our wedding. He was very easy-going and understanding but still well- organized and professional (though we weren't at times). He made sure to consult with us a few times, via phone and in person, and was always quick to respond to questions we had via email. He matched the vibe of the wedding perfectly, His playlists incorporated our requests and our guests requests in a way that made everyone very happy and festive. He was incredibly versatile with his music selection and had both young and old on the dance floor. My wife and I had an incredible wedding day and The Master of Ceremonies was a big part of making it happen...Thanks DJ for making our day!

We got married on October 22nd of last year and I cannot express enough what an amazing day it was all around. The Master of Ceremonies beyond words! He was sincere and professional yet appropriately funny when those little unexpected things come up during the ceremony itself. Besides being extremely professional, he was on top of everything. Kept the timeline for the evening to a perfect T ensuring the night went smoothly and without a hitch. He has an amazing voice and energy that just kept the night going. The dance floor was NEVER empty, not for one song and the venue basically had to kick us out as none of my guests (nor my new husband and I) wanted to leave. As they say, the food and music (ok, sometimes the bar as well) makes or breaks a wedding. Adolphus aka "Danja" knocked it out of the park!. Again, I still am receiving comments about how "off the chain the wedding was and that our DJ was the best they have seen". Even weeks after our wedding, I have been in touch with Adolphus and his communication does not stop simply because the event has ended. We are already talking about doing it again next year for our 1 year anniversary and I can say The Master of Ceremonies will be the only call I make! Thank you! You made an amazing weekend even more extraordinary.

I am the owner of A TOUCH OF CLASS EVENT HALL and I have had the pleasure to witness this DJ several times at many wedding events. His attention to details goes above and beyond even down to his apparel. I noticed that his wardrobe colors always match the wedding party. He has always been very professional in appearance and when working with the customer. His choice of music flows nicely with the audience and everyone has a great time dancing and enjoying the sounds. I would recommend Danja to anyone who's looking for a professional DJ.

The Masters of Ceremonies did our wedding back in December 2011. Adolphus was the best! We got so many compliments on our DJ and a lot of our friends said it was the best wedding reception they have ever been to. It was pretty amazing how professional he was and how he was able to get everyone off their seats- even my 85 year old grandparents! He knew how to interact with our 300 guests! If you like to party and make memorable moments, hire him! You are guaranteed the best night of your life!

DJ Danja Mowf (Adolphus Maples) took our event to a new level of entertainment and success. We provided a play list, BUT it was his ability to mix and pay attention to the crowd that impressed me! He really took us on a musical journey through time periods and locations. His ability to work with us on the music, and then perform live for the group on the dance floor resulted in one of the most memorable events I've ever been a part of. I would recommend Masters of Ceremonies to ANYBODY. Adolphus, aka Dj Danja Mowf was our MC/DJ at our 8/22/15 wedding. He was so friendly, quick to respond to any of our inquiries or requests, and just so open to any ideas we wanted to throw at him, even if they weren't all that traditional. He had wonderful communication (which many of the other companies we tried to contact did NOT have) and a huge knowledge base. Even when there was some mini-drama and last minute changes surrounding our wedding entrance, Danja was super flexible, helpful, and patient in trying to figure it all out (even while I was ready to punch some people!). He was open to discussing budget and made it possible for us to use a professional DJ. I felt comfortable and worry-free that our wedding would be incredible because of our DJ - and I was right! We got so many compliments about our wedding, saying it was the best wedding anybody had ever been to before. My advice to anybody looking at DJs and thinking about cost: Stop and think about what makes the reception great and you will realize that the cost of a DJ/MC is WELL WORTH IT! Danja has extremely reasonable prices, especially for the level of service he provides. He goes above and beyond what he has to do to make your special event perfect. I'm honestly not a review writing person, but when you find a product or service that is clearly above and beyond what you anticipated, you have to tell someone about it! Adolphus was always very responsive and helpful in creating a perfect playlist, that's what a good Dj does. But Adolphus saved my ceremony from disaster! We were married on a mountain in Charlottesville, and were told that there was electricity within the vicinity. When Adolphus arrived he obviously found out there wasn't! I was told that he somehow hooked the speakers and microphones up to his truck battery which he parked behind the trees! I say I was told this because we only heard about it after the day was over. Not only did he solve an amazing problem, he did so without alerting myself or my husband, which I found to be amazing. Hire The Masters of the Ceremony, Adolphus was not only MY DJ, but MY HERO!

As we all know planning a wedding can be costly and a bit of a headache. You want everything to be perfect from the begining to the end. I had my ceremony all in tact but what about my reception?
I wanted my reception to be like a giant "PARTY"!! I had an idea of what type of songs I wanted played and what type of DJ I needed and how much I wanted to spend. I really thought it was going to be difficult to find all that in one.?? Well I was wrong!!
My friend told me about a DJ named Danja Mowf. She said anything you want he can do and then some. Well I'm here to tell you it was the best money I have ever spent??

Adolphus Maples also known as DJ "DANJA MOWF" hosted our wedding reception on 12/10/2016. Our vision of everybody kick off your shoes and have a GOOD time came to life.

Adolphus was very prompt and professional and resonable. He was so nice to us all and I must say easy on the eyes?? lol!! I had to keep my aunts focused lol!! He played every type of music and had every song I requested. He even played songs I hadn't thought about but they fit perfectly!
DJ Danja was so interactive with us from getting us hype on the mic to coming on the dance floor with us to my most memorable part where he got my 90 year old grandmother to dance with him.

Masters of Cerenmony thank you to you as well as Adolphus Maples for making my special day a day to remember !!!

Working with Adolphus and Masters of the Ceremony for our wedding reception was by far one of the best decisions we made in planning our Maymont, Richmond, VA Wedding! From the start, Adolphus was professional and very responsive. Our biggest criteria for finding a DJ was having someone with a great personality, who could hang with our crowd and keep the party going. From the moment we met Adolphus, we knew he was the one! We are beyond happy with the music at the reception and had many of our guests come up to us and say it was the best wedding DJ they had ever experienced. You can't go wrong with booking this team for your special day!!

We knew from the day we met him that Adolphus was the one to MC our wedding and reception. I can't express how grateful we were to have him. We didn't provide much of a list and I practically piece mailed things to him as they came up (being the frantic bride I was) yet he was flexible and in the end knew exactly what we were going for and set the party on FIRE! Adolphus "Danja Mowf" Maples was extremely professional from our first meeting. He organized our wedding timeline for us and brought up so many things we didn't think of. The wedding ceremony music had to be edited, and it was flawless. The Officiant and reader microphones were super clear and he even gave us a recording of the ceremony! At the reception he kept our party going and our guests entertained all night. He kept me and my wife on track, which was helpful since we didn't have a wedding planner. He knew exactly what music to play based on our meeting. My friends still ask for a recording of our reception mix! We were extremely happy with the service and would recommend him to anyone!

My bride had already secured The Masters of the Ceremony when we began working together so I wasn't familiar with company. I honestly had vendors that I suggested as my preferred choices, but my bride was INSISTENT! I was so glad that she was because Adolphus put on one of the best musical performances I have ever seen at a wedding! Many of the things that I have to follow up with a dj on I didn't have to. He came with all of the music organized in folders for each part of the ceremony and made all of the announcements, which was great because I HATE to talk on the mic! I had things planned, but "Danja Mowf" created other memorable moments because of what he played. He got a full SOUL TRAIN LINE going which was great for the pictures and video! The music he picked for the garter removal, toss and garter placement were so unexpected and perfect, it just created memorable moments! I'm in the DC area now and have TMOTC on my preferred DJ list. I wish I could give more stars... EXCELLENT!

To say this is the best Wedding DJ service is an understatement. Adolphus or, DJ Danja Mowf, the owner, came to our home and met with us. We were so impressed with his ideas and company mission and we knew it was a perfect match. He had so much energy and spontaneity we were instantly excited to see him in action. He didn't fail to impress us. We met about a week before the wedding and finalized all the details. We answered questions and Adolphus really got to know us. The day of the wedding was more than we could have imagined. He was the best MC/DJ I have ever personally seen! The way he engaged our guests was far beyond our expectations. He truly has an amazing talent and I can't thank him enough for making our day the best! If you are considering The Masters of Ceremonies, you will not be let down!

I would advise anyone getting married in the Richmond area to book him NOW!!!! Mr. Maples is by far one of the best DJ's around and his calendar will likely fill up fast. Adolphus has been the DJ for a few of the brides whose weddings I have directed and they all rave about his attentiveness when discussing the type of music selection they would like played and the great value. All of the brides have diverse backgrounds and he seems to effortlessly tailor music for each one!

My husband and I are so glad we chose Danja as our wedding DJ. We couldn't have asked for a more professional, flexible and talented person to work with. When I contacted him to see if he was available, I was immediately impressed by how fast he responded, the confidence he displayed and the information he provided us. Right after our conversation, he emailed me a detailed questionnaire that allowed us to select the type of music we wanted to hear- songs not to play and how we would like for both ceremony and reception music to flow. I emailed him so many times with questions & concerns about the music selection since we didn't have anything in mind for songs to be played at the reception. Every time Danja responded he reassured me that everything was going to turn out great. For the reception we basically left the music up to him and like he said it was absolutely PERFECT! My only request to him was to "keep people on the dance floor," and he most certainly delivered- Our families and friends danced the entire night. My aunt even said "I haven't danced this much since my college reunion" :) I cannot thank him enough especially for mixing two of my mothers favorite songs together for a surprise mother/daughter dance that was captured on video and I can't stop watching. It was by far my favorite memory from our wedding. If you are looking for someone to keep your guest entertained and on the dance floor the entire night, I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND GOING WITH DANJA!!

Danja was absolutely phenomenal. After the first dance and the dance with my dad the guest couldn't stay off the floor. I remember the dinner music/playlist and how the guest could barely finish eating before they wanted to get up and dance. His attention to detail on (my day) he came dressed and coordinated with the groomsmen in our wedding colors. I can't tell you i expected it or had seen it done before. Danja truly played a major role in making our special day one to remember.

Adolphus put on an awesome musical DJ performance at my wedding and kept everything moving smoothly. When we almost forgot to do the cake cutting before dinner, he was quick to remind us! And after one guest requested a second slow country song (which weren't part of my provided list of musical preferences), he asked me if it was okay to play it first. He played a great selection of music geared toward my preferences but that still kept people dancing all night. He did a great job with the ceremony as well and was always quick to respond to all of my emails, even the day of the wedding. He's also the nicest guy. Highly recommend.
