Janet, their coordinator, was helpful, responsive, and very organized. She let us go in to decorate early on our wedding day. We had a very hot day so she allowed our guests to stay inside for the cocktail hour. The staff were attentive and extremely friendly. I heard from many guests how the drinks were great and the food was delicious. The grounds are absolutely beautiful - especially at night. There is a waterfall, fire pit, a fountain, garden, etc. Lots of variety for pictures and room to run around in for young guests. Thank you and highly recommend!

What can I say about Janet and her team at The Mansion!? Janet was always one email or phone call away, answered all of my questions and always gracious and kind. You can see/feel the excitement she has for you. Don't look anywhere else book this place, its beautiful outdoor garden space and then inside the hall where you have these beautiful wooden beams to eat and dance the night away. The day of our wedding Janet was there to help out in any way. Her staff were kind and had food out in a blink of an eye, passing appetizers and drinks. I wish I could do it all over again. Thank you so much for making our night (and planning) so magical.

If you are an anxious bride who wants their day to be perfect, I highly suggest going with The Mansion at Bald Hill - their Event Manager, Janet was an absolute dream to work with! Her punctuality in email and phone responses, attention to detail throughout the planning experience, and passion for the wedding space was incredible. Having her manage the wedding on the day of let me sit back and enjoy the day with my loved ones. We loved that the venue provides so much flexibility for a ceremony either indoor or out, beautiful grounds to take photos, and a patio space for guests to enjoy the fresh air. We could not have had a better experience and would recommend this venue to anyone!

My wedding was at this venue on July 17th. I had very high hopes for The Mansion at Bald Hill since the first time I saw how beautiful it was in person! Not only did our wedding go so smoothly, it absolutely exceeded my expectations. Janet was there helping and facilitating every second of the way - with the littlest of jobs to ones more involved! I could not thank her and her staff enough for the hard work they put in for our rehearsal dinner and wedding the next day. The food The Mansion cooked and provided was delicious both nights. Everything went seamlessly from our point of view, even with the crazy rain shower and changing our ceremony spot last minute. Our wedding guests had nothing but amazing things to say about the entire night. The Mansion has a list of preferred vendors who were also super easy to work with and I would highly recommend as well. My husband and I would recommend The Mansion for any event!

Exceptional in every way! Beautiful grounds and amazing hospitality. Between the gorgeous backdrop for our outdoor wedding ceremony to the beautiful outdoor patio with waterfalls and fire pits for the cocktail hour, the venue was just stunning. The reception with beautiful bar, high ceilings, and gorgeous woodworking helped make our night the best one ever.

It was a dream to work with the Mansion at Bald Hill and our wedding day was perfect. We LOVED working with Janet! She was there to answer our every question during the planning process, as well as made both the rehearsal and the wedding itself run so smoothly. My husband and I have food sensitivities/allergies, and everyone there (both in the banquet hall and the Mansion restaurant itself) was very accommodating to our needs. We give them our highest recommendation.

Planning: Janet was very responsive to my frequent emails and was incredibly flexible when we had to postpone our wedding due to covid-19.

Cost: Extremely reasonable food/beverage cost - our guests are still raving about the hors d'oeuvres and entrees (I didn't get to eat much, but it looked amazing!) Site cost included use of ceremony site and bridal suite for getting ready. Oh, and breakfast (the breakfast is delectable). We loved that there was no guest minimum.

Site: Gorgeous grounds. Beautiful English garden for ceremony, fountains and fire pit at night. Very quiet and private! So glad that there's only one wedding per day - we felt very well taken care of.

Overall: From the start, we knew that we would get married at the Mansion at Bald Hill. It's a beautiful location with superb service and value. We highly recommend!

We couldn’t have been happier with our reception at the Mansion. Janet from the beginning was professional, helpful, and reassuring as she guided us through our COVID wedding. They were extremely accommodating with a tent and bar outside during the pandemic. The outside amenities were perfect for our fall wedding. The staff were welcoming and polite, and the food really is out of this world! Highly recommend!

Where do I begin? The Mansion at Bald Hill gave us the most perfect wedding I could have ever asked for! This year has been crazy and unpredictable with the looming pandemic, but Janet and her staff constantly went above and beyond to give us our perfect day. Especially these last couple of months when COVID was getting worse Janet was there to walk us through our options and how we could make this day special no matter what. The night before the wedding the venue looked beautiful, like a Christmas Hallmark movie! The venue is absolutely beautiful and so is the restaurant where we also had our rehearsal dinner. Our guests kept giving us compliments on how beautiful our venue was, how delicious the food was, and how great the bar was! The bartenders definitely knew their drinks! We loved this place and so happy we chose it. Janet went above and beyond and we highly recommend this venue to anyone!!!

Our wedding at The Mansion was as perfect as I could have imagined. The food was great. Janet always was helpful and responsive. She also made our rescheduling multiple times due to the pandemic seamless.

The Mansion at Bald Hill hosted our daughter's wedding reception recently. We cannot say enough about the experience we had there! The food was delicious, and it was served by a professional, polite wait staff. The ambiance was amazing. The cocktail hour was outside on the patio. The guests loved the fire pit! The dining room was beautiful and comfortable, accommodating our 86 guests, no more than 6 per table, which were 6 feet apart. Dancing was outside in a tent with a 6 piece band. Two weeks before the wedding, we never thought our daughter's and son-in-law's special day could look like this. Their wedding reception was originally planned at a venue in MA, but the Covid guidelines changed on 8/11, reducing outdoor gatherings in MA to 50 people, from 100 people. We had already reduced the size of the wedding from 200 to 100, back in July when the guidelines were changed initially. The church was in Worcester, MA, so we were able to travel to this venue in CT, where the guidelines allowed us to have close to the 100 we had planned for. We would have had to cancel the wedding if we had to keep it to 50, because our family is larger than 50, and we could not leave out family. Janet came to our rescue, after I reached out to her on August 11. She made this magical day happen in 10 days, as if she had a year in advance to plan it! She is amazing-so easy to work with, so professional and efficient and couldn't do enough for us to make it the wedding they always dreamed of! This venue is a gem!

Janet was fantastic in ensuring the details were covered. She was of superb support for the on scene handling of logistics. Our wedding was perfect even amidst 3 date changes due to Covid. Truly, after researching 12+ venues, we chose MBH and had a wonderful experience, would recommend the Mansion at Bald Hill for your event.

I was supposed to be married back in March at a venue in Massachusetts. Due to Covid, my year long planning came to a halt days before it was all supposed to come to life. After a lengthy heart breaking ordeal with my other venue, i reached out to the Mansion with what seems like a ridiculous request. "Can you host my wedding, three weeks from today?" Janet reached out with a simple "i think i can help, ill call you tomorrow". Janet was amazing. She was responsive through the whole process and made the transition seamless. She even spent 20 minutes pinning up my dress when my bustle failed to keep my dress from under my feet. I cannot say enough about how great she and the staff is. The venue is beautiful. The wedding was beautiful. So unbelievably happy.

We can’t praise the Mansion and the wedding coordinator, Janet, enough. She was always quick to reply, even during the holiday season. She made sure everything was smooth sailing, and I never felt rushed or out of control. She was exactly what every bride needs to keep the wedding on track and to keep calm if anything goes awry. I have nothing but praise for her.

Lovely setting, yummy food and an excellent staff. We had the wedding there, people spent the night in the rooms and our brunch for 55 was the next day——just fantastic!!!!

We wanted a special drink and Janet went out of her way to make it happen. Our wedding was FABULOUS!!!!

The Mansion at Bald Hill was my dream wedding venue! We had our ceremony off site but the reception was perfect. Janet and team did a phenomenal job setting everything up exactly as I wanted and had envisioned in my head! Janet was always super flexible to meet with me and my husband. As well as very responsive on returning any of my calls and/or emails. The servers were all so nice on the wedding day. Guests had nothing but good things to say about all of them! Oh and the room that my husband and I stayed at on our wedding night was so nice! It was huge and it was really nice to have a spot right next door to freshen up after the ceremony and photos before heading to the reception. Overall couldn't say enough good things about The Mansion at Bald Hill!

The venue was the first thing I booked after my engagement. I was looking for a modern rustic venue that held everything on site. I had looked at about 7 or 8 venues until I found the Mansion at Bald Hill. The drive to the venue was gorgeous and as soon as we pulled up to this beautiful mansion, I knew this was where we were going to get married. We held our rehearsal dinner in the mansion, the ceremony was in the beautiful garden on the grounds and cocktail hour and reception was in the AMAZING hall next to the mansion. Everything being all together was perfect and all the guests loved it. Janet was so great to work with, and she is amazing at what she does. She made sure the night was flawless and everything went perfectly. All my guests are still talking about how good the food was, and the entire atmosphere was beautiful. The Mansion at Bald Hill gave me the wedding of my dreams and there’s not one bad thing I could say!

This place is amazing to get married at the food was great, Janet was very helpful and making sure everything went smoothly. All of our guests loved the place and a few are even going back to stay at the mansion. Definitely recommend to other people looking for place to get married.

My husband and I got married at the Mansion at Bald Hill on October 20, 2019, and we had the wedding of our dreams!! The ceremony, reception and cocktail hour sites were so beautiful! Janet was so accomodating leading up to our wedding and was there for us throughout our day. She even held my dress behind me when I started walking down the aisle and the guests said they never knew she was there! The food was delicious, the portion sizes were great and the overall experience was everything we ever hoped for. I could not recommend this venue enough!!!

Bald Hill is an amazing place to have a wedding. Every aspect was handled with expertise and care. Janet is a real pleasure to work with. Beautiful grounds, exceptional food and service was top notch. Will definitely be recommending them to everyone.

We had our wedding at the Mansion at Bald Hill on 9/6/19. Every part of our special day was nothing short but amazing. From day one, Janet was beyond responsive and helpful in making all of my dreams/ visions come to life. We chose this venue for it's classic charm, seclusion and natural beauty. The grounds are stunning, and set the tone for a picturesque wedding. Not too rustic, just classic gardens. The food was delicious- we chose to do a buffet, and it was a great value. We did our cake with the suggested vendor, and it came out to our liking. The wedding coordinator was calm, flexible, and a joy to work with. All the staff was very professional, and helpful, ensuring our day went as seemless as possible. Truly was the wedding of our dreams and we are so happy we chose the mansion at bald hill!

At first, we had some anxiety about choosing a venue in Connecticut's remote quiet corner. But the level of service and professionalism at The Mansion during planning and on our wedding day reminded us why that didn't matter. Janet, the venue coordinator, was always available to answer my random questions and kept us on track when making decisions.

On the day of, we were blown away by how calm, collected and on top of it she was and the thoughtfulness of her staff. They brought drinks and appetizers to the family during photos, they kept the buffet line full and happy and they were on hand to clean any drinks spilled and glasses dropped (only two, not bad). They all seemed happy to be there. Coming from someone with a background in catering, I was impressed.

The food was delicious. We also had concerns about going in-house for food (we've heard some venues have a bad rep). Not with The Mansion. All guests, ourselves included, loved the food. And we went with the most basic package.

The venue itself is the right mix of charming and sophisticated. All night people asked, "How did you find this?!" in disbelief at what a beautiful place exists in the middle of no where.

Now that its over and all sunk in, many guests have told us this was "the perfect day." I would highly, highly recommend this venue to anyone in the area.

The Mansion at Bald Hill exceeded our expectations. I have always loved eating brunch there, so when my husband and I decided to take a look at the Mansion as a possible venue, we absolutely loved it. I already knew the food is delicious. The Mansion and garden are absolutely beautiful, the banquet hall I had not seen until our tour, and it was stunning. The patio was perfect for cocktails with the fire pit and water fall feature. I was able to use a room at the mansion, Mrs. Bowen’s suit, for all of my girls and Myself to get ready for the wedding. I was also given the room for the night of the wedding for my husband and I. The room was furnished beautifully and I enjoyed the historical aspect of the mansion. Janet was amazing, she helped us every step of the way. Any worries or concerns she took care of. The staff is friendly and made the entire experience wonderful and unforgettable. After the wedding our guests kept saying it was the most beautiful wedding they had been to. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend The Mansion at Bald Hill for anyone looking for a venue for their special day.

We had a fantastic experience with Janet and "The Mansion at Bald Hill". From Day 1, Janet was responsive and willing to work around our busy work schedules in order to meet with us. She was available, but not pushy or overbearing at all. She went above and beyond to ensure that everything was perfect--appetizers and drinks were brought to the wedding party in the garden during photos, and she even helped my bridesmaids with my bustle (just as two examples). Thank you so much Janet!
Overall--the facility is beautiful (both the grounds and inside), with neutral colors that will match any decor. The outside patio is perfect for cocktail hour--luckily the weather was great so we were able to utilize that area. The food was fantastic, and at what I thought was a very reasonable price.

I loved my wedding at the Mansion! They answered all of my questions promptly and worked with me when I had last minute changes with seating and questions with the menu. The staff was amazing and brought out drinks and appetizers while we were doing pictures and helped my mother pick up our decorations at the end. I appreciated that they had a lot of amenities included in their price which made my choices easy and seamless. I included pictures of the beautiful grounds and gardens, I can't recommend them highly enough!

The staff and grounds are absolutely amazing! Janet and the rest of the staff were able to deliver perfection eventhough we were running late due to a snowstorm. They were able to keep the food hot and not overcooked for over an hour! All of our food choices actually tasted better than we remembered at our tasting. One small piece of advice for couples staying at the Mansion,make sure you have extra water & snacks, there is no gift shop or room service and it is hard to get anything late night in the area. We can not wait to see our pictures!

We just got married on 11-11-17 at the Mansion at Bald Hill. Working with Janet was a true pleasure. Janet leading up to the wedding was always very responsive and accommodating as we had many small details we wanted incorporated in our wedding. The night of the wedding the entire staff was friendly and very professional. We had rented out all of the rooms in the Mansion for the bridal party, parents and bride and groom and in the morning the breakfast was amazing! We are so glad we booked our wedding at the Mansion at Bald Hill!

The Mansion at Bald Hill was everything we were looking for in a venue. As soon as we drove onto the grounds, we knew it was the one, from the Garden to the Reception area. Janet and her staff were phenomenal and such a help when organizing our day. Everything was amazing!!! We booked about a year and a half in advance and Janet kept us informed when things were due and when we needed to start planning different things. Everytime we went to the mansion everyone was so genuinely kind. Janet was very responsive with any questions I had. They day of the wedding everything was set up beautifully and ready for our guests. The garden was beautiful and the weather was fantastic. The food!!!! People are still talking about the food. Very well prepared. I wish we could get married there 100 times more. It felt like we were guests at our wedding everyone did there part and Janet kept everything in check but was so calm with everything!! So so thankful for this experience. Wish I could give 10 stars.

Communicate with your vendors - it will help your vision come to life. Don't waver on your vision even if you ha e intrusive family or friends who try to challenge your decisions - stick to YOUR vision. In the end you'll be happy it was what you wanted. Lastry - delegate responsibilities, it will save your sanity! Try to sleep well and hydrate the weeks leading up to the event!

I can not say enough about how much we enjoyed having our reception at the Mansion at Bald Hill. Janet was great to work with, she was very organized and helped us plan out every aspect of the reception from the napkin colors to the play-by-play timeline. She was very flexible during the planning process- meeting in person multiple times and answering questions via email. The quality of the food at the reception was as good as the plates in their restaurant. We got many compliments on the dinner, especially the prime rib. We also had a rehearsal dinner here the night before and our bridal party stayed at the mansion. Mrs Bowen's Room was a great location for getting ready photos.

The tour and booking was smooth. The options were clear and the ballroom is gorgeous.

The Mansion at Bald Hill was the perfect venue for our wedding. We didn't want to have to find a bunch of different vendors so this site was ideal! Catering, bartending, a place to get ready, locations for ceremony, cocktail hour and reception on site AND a coordinator for the day made this our first choice. To top it all off, the venue and grounds are gorgeous.

Janet, the general manager/coordinator was amazing. She was in constant communication with me from the time we booked the venue until the day of the wedding. She answered all of my questions quickly and put my mind at ease.

The day of our wedding it was down pouring and while we wanted to have our ceremony outside, we were able to have our ceremony in the ballroom. The venue set up everything and took it down during cocktail hour in order to make room for the reception tables. Janet and the staff figured out all of the kinks without the bride and groom even knowing that there were "kinks". They made us feel special and truly made our day magical.

My husband and I got married at the Mansion on 7/7/17 and it was the absolutely best day. From planning months before up to the day of the wedding, Janet was flexible and answered all emails in a timely manner. Everyone who attended the wedding only said great things about the venue, ceremony, reception area and food. The food was absolutely delicious! All of our Bridal Party stayed the night of the wedding, the rooms were large and comfortable. And breakfast the next morning was INCREDIBLE! The Mansion at Bald Hill was such a dreamy venue. We were extremely happy with how everything went for our wedding even during the pandemic. Our guests were also very impressed with everything and how beautiful the venue was. We are very very happy with our choice to get married here.

MBH has fantastically appointed rooms, which made them an easy choice for our wedding accommodations. They were able to fulfill a small little request ahead of our arrival and were very communicative about dining options. It was a bit inconvenient that there was not 24 hour staff, as we had issues with the wifi throughout our time, but since we were at rehearsal dinner and then the wedding until after 9, we never got an opportunity to discuss a fix with staff. There was also some serious construction going on throughout our stay. The noise was not noticeable, but aesthetically it was unfortunate on the facade. Obviously, just bad timing and not their *fault* in any way. Would still highly recommend.

We couldn’t have imagined a more perfect setting for our wedding. The outdoor ceremony was stunning and the cocktail hour outside with dinner and dancing in the reception building was perfect. The value of the venue is great as well. We are from out of state and this was the best price that we found, definitely worth the money. Couldn’t have pictured a more perfect wedding day, thank you to everyone at the Mansion who made our day wonderful!

This is a great venue! The food and service was awesome at our reception. Everyone could not stop raving to us about how good the food was. The bartenders did a great job keeping up with demand and we’re really nice to talk too. I was in ‘aw’ when we first took a tour of the venue and we both knew it is where we wanted to get married. The coordinator was very accommodating when I would ask to have something done or set up. I did ran into a few issues/misunderstandings though. I would say, make sure everything is written as to what you want. I was told I’d have the bridal suite and two weeks before the wedding I was told it was already booked by another bride - Janet said we could always book another room that was open in the B&B; if we needed up doing this we would have had to spend more money. When we spoke to the owners about this issue, everything was corrected My bridesmaids and myself were able to use the room. Another hiccup was that we didn’t have a room to hang out in during our cocktail hour after pictures. When I spoke to Janet, it sounded like we would have the conference room and I asked about having our own tray of hor ‘duerves - she confirmed the hor ‘duerves. Once we made our way to the room Janet was in there, working and said she didn’t want anyone in the room but made the exception for myself, my new husband and 2 bridesmaid to help bussal my dress. But over all it’s a great venue just make sure you have your ducks in a row.

This venue is absolutely picturesque and beautiful—everything from the drive up to the ‘bridal’ suite, to the food; my now husband and I are thrilled to have had our wedding at the Mansion. Best decision we have ever made.

Janet and her team at the Mansion were so very accommodating which is what originally drew us to them (in addition to the GORGEOUS) venue. We were able to customize our dinner after we did our tasting. We loved having a separate site for the ceremony (in their picture-perfect garden), an outdoor location on the patio (complete with abundant seating, high-top tables, a fire pit and water fall), and then the reception in their stunning ballroom. Each separate location had its own uniqueness. People commented on the elegance of the wedding and venue without it being "stuffy". People did not rave about the food and a few honest guests told us it was just average.

They were very responsive through email and took phone meetings with us when requested. However, if me and my fiance hadn't been so on the ball with asking questions, checking documents, etc, I'm not sure how much we would have heard from them in the months leading up or how the logistics of the wedding would have gone. If you're a hands-off bride, you might need a wedding planner to alleviate some of the stress over communication. But in the end, trust the process and everything will turn out great!

On the day of, the whole team was extremely professional and friendly and genuinely looked like they were having fun! Overall, we were satisfied with our choice of venue and had a beautiful wedding at the Mansion at Bald Hill.

Our wedding was everything we had hoped it could be! Janet was a pleasure to work with and all of her staff were pleasant and very helpful. The food was great and the ambiance was perfect for a fall evening wedding! The reception venue itself was clean and well maintained and the grounds were well kept and beautiful for pictures! We were exceptionally grateful to be able to stay in Mrs. Bowen's suite for our wedding night as well, as one of the appeals of this venue was the Mansion itself! Our one comment would be the site fee of $3000. We understand it is becoming more common with wedding venues, however it was more on the expensive side of most of the venues we looked at and also because we did not have our ceremony on site. It was also great that they host a vendor fair making it extremely helpful for finding local vendors in the area. Overall, our experience was great! Everything went smoothly with all of our vendors and we were even able to decorate the space a few days before the reception! We cannot thank Janet and her staff enough for helping to make our day as perfect as we could ever have imagined! We are looking forwards to returning and staying in the Mansion for many years to come!

The mansion was beautiful and set in an old world charm. The new reception hall is perfect for a modern wedding. The staff are wonderful and the food is the best! We plan to go back each anniversary.

Janet and the team had great service, the food was delicious, and the inn and staff were absolutely wonderful to interact with. The owner even sat with my grandmother and cousins for quite a while the day after the wedding at breakfast to chat. The outdoor ceremony space was perfect for our intimate ceremony, though they set up too many chairs for the number of guests we had, which looks a bit funny in photos and videos. We had discussed an outdoor bar for beer and wine for cocktail hour since we didn’t want anyone in the reception area until the reception began, but unfortunately, that bar was not set up and our guests spent cocktail hour in the ballroom rather than on the patio. This wasn’t a fatal blow to the event, but a mistake in the oversight. That said, we highly recommend this as a venue!

This venue was a great setting for our somewhat last minute wedding. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and they accomodated our dogs for the ceremony as well. We were even offered a complimentary room for the night of the wedding. Everyone had a really lovely time and complimented the delicious food. Waitstaff and bartenders were great for our wedding (although rehearsal dinner service was a bit slow and scattered). If I could do it all over again I totally would and would still pick this location!

Overall, we had a wonderful experience, as did our guests. We did have an initial problem getting the sound system to work the day of the wedding. Scott was very accommodating to try and resolve the issue.
Some of the small details (setting up chairs, moving tables) didn't occur until 30 minutes before event start, but were done. I would have liked extra help remembering to bring my drink out before giving the toast, too.
The whole Bald Hill team did a fantastic job ensuring it was a memorable event for us and our family and friends.
I would recommend them in a heart beat.

My husband and I got married at Bald Hill on June 2, 2018. It is a gorgeous venue. We were so happy that we were able to have our ceremony out in the garden despite the weather being a bit touch-and-go throughout the day. The banquet center is beautiful and still looks brand new. The food, bartenders, and servers were great.
One major plus about Bald Hill (at least as of the time we booked it at the end of last summer) is that they do not have a minimum requirement for number of guests/amount of money you need to spend besides the initial site fee; this was an issue we ran into frequently when looking at venues in eastern CT. We only had 80 guests, but the space in banquet room was used well and it did not look too sparse. It was also really nice to be able to stay over in Mrs. Bowen’s room the night of and the night before the wedding. It’s a spacious room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in.
Our only qualm was with the event coordinator. She definitely was prompt about getting back to us if we had any questions, but otherwise was not always very proactive about reaching out to us for information that was needed. Our wedding is the only one I’ve been heavily involved in preparing for, so I would have appreciated more guidance about some of the little details prior to the day of the wedding. Also we had discussed her coming by briefly the night before the wedding to assist with getting our rehearsal started, but she didn’t end up coming at all. Luckily our photographer and officiant were able to take the reigns on that. I certainly do understand that this is the busy wedding season and that she is stretched thin being the sole event coordinator. That might be a good reason to consider adding on additional event staff.

The food and venue was absolutely amazing! When it came to responsiveness, it was nearly impossible to ever get anyone on the phone to ask a question, but if you sent an email, there is generally a response within 24 hours. I felt the quality of service was okay. I felt like my rehearsal was rushed and once the wedding ended at 10pm, the cleaning crew was in there at 10:05 before my guests left setting up for the next wedding. I understand there is another wedding happening the next day, but I felt that they should have waited until my guest exited the building before setting up. I felt that as the bride, there was a lot of responsibility on the couple to ensure the details of the wedding were correct and the wedding coordinator did not take the time to understand the details of our wedding.

The Mansion at Bald Hill is a hidden gem!!! The ground are beautiful and the food is delicious. The staff was attentive. My only complaint was the bar service. We had an open bar and clearly they do not know when to cut people off. The manager Janet was useless as she just stood there and glared at everybody all night. Not sure what part of wedding coordinator she did not understand but overall the place is beautiful but I could have done without my wedding “coordinator”

It was definitely a beautiful place to get married. I didn't have too much interaction with the wedding planner until the week before. But I also didn't hound her. I felt like she could have been a little more proactive and endearing. Also my guests had some interactions with her and did not feel "comfortable". There was a female bartender that many guest complained about to me after the fact. Her customer service was not the greatest. Besides that - the venue is absolutely gorgeous. It is down to earth, yet classy and elegant. I personally loved the venue itself.

There is no doubt The Mansion at Bald Hill is a stunning venue to host an outdoor wedding. The grounds are maintained beautifully, and the gardens are green and lush. We loved the dramatic ceremony aisle, and the cocktail hour patio space was perfect. The ballroom can truly be transformed into something magical and memorable. Though the venue itself was overall perfect, we did not have a good experience with their so called “day of coordinator” (DOC).
There was an extreme lack of communication and professionalism experienced during the rehearsal and wedding day with the DOC. As a Type A bride, I planned every last detail to a T and even provided a fool proof binder of my expectations for decor setup and wedding day flow. On the night of our rehearsal…the day before the wedding, we were informed that the DOC and her staff would not be assisting in the setting up of any of our wedding décor. The only portion of the setup they handle are the tables w/ linens (if you choose to use theirs) and the ceremony chairs. This was not discussed or disclosed to us when booking the venue and had it been, we would have hired an actual coordinator. Due to this, one of my bridesmaids and the significant others of the bridal party had to set up everything the morning of the wedding. Due to the lack of eye for detail and overall care from the mansion’s DOC, she did not read the binder we provided her with which in turn also caused our ceremony to be mismanaged. She told the groom and bridal party to start walking before the officiant even began reading the opening remarks resulting in our officiant having to skip over the whole beginning of our ceremony script. We would have been better off without her “help” and “services” altogether as several of our other vendors also commented to us about her rudeness towards them.
We also want to share our experience regarding their “open bar” pricing. Due to specific wording in the contract, we were charged an additional (quite significant) amount of money for alcohol consumed. You are not paying for an open bar here but rather by consumption so please be sure you understand your contract fully to avoid this unnecessary additional stress.
Overall, we feel the venue itself made our wedding perfect, but we are giving only three stars due to the DOC’s behavior, lack of care for the bride and groom and subpar services provided. If you fall in love with the grounds like we did and choose to book your wedding here, the major takeaway we have from our experience would be to hire your own coordinator. You will need someone who always has the bride and groom’s needs at the forefront of their mind and someone who truly knows and cares about executing your vision. Your wedding day should be stress-free and that will not happen here without an outside coordinator.
