We had the Joel Young Band at our 10/14/23 wedding, and they were an absolute HIT! We got compliments on them all night long. I'd booked them after my sister did for her 2022 wedding, where they were also a huge success. Super easy to communicate with during the planning process, and they absolutely brought the fun day-of. They even learned a song in Italian for us because we had family flying in from Italy! Our dance floor was packed truly all night long, every song, every genre, every decade of music, didn't matter! People, myself included, really enjoyed when members of the band came out to the floor, especially during the Piano Man sing-a-long! Absolutely a 10/10 must-book vendor - you won't be disappointed! -

Value for money- One of our best decisions
Booking Joel Young Band was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning. The band was amazing. They kept everyone on the dance floor. Our 101 year old grandmother was out dancing, even at the end of night. Many weddings we have attended, we saw people leave early but by letting the band pick songs and do what they are pros at, most of our guests stayed until the very end. The most common feedback from guests was about how much fun they had and how amazing they found the band.
Noise level was perfect. Some bands can be too loud in indoor spaces but not Joel Young Band; the volume control was perfect; their music choices were catered to our crowd.
The band communicated with us by email and phone and was easy to reach. They handled everything with the venue and needed very little from us.
Here's the takeaway, if your guest experience is a high priority then you can trust this band to set a good vibe. We believed that the value added from booking with Joel Young Band was well worth prioritizing them in our budget.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. -

Joel Young Band - Great!!!, Before and After!!!!
The Joel Young Band played my son's wedding two years ago and they were simply amazing !!!! Can't wait to have them back at my daughter's wedding on September 8th, in Long Island. Joel, George, and Steve have been extra-accomadating, and super helpful in planning the entertainment for my daughter's big day. Thanks for everything. You guy's are truly the ultimate wedding band !!!! -

The Joel Young Band (JYB) was by far one of the best vendors we worked with for our wedding! My husband had seen them perform at his sister’s wedding about 6 years ago and he knew he wanted them to be part of our day! We reached out to Joel about 11 months before our wedding on 11.25.22 and we were thrilled when we learned they were available! Three weeks before our wedding, my husband and I had a phone call with Joel to go over our timeline for the reception, and talk about song selections for our first dance and parent dances, as well as entrance songs and a song for cake cutting! When we shared our choice for our first dance and asked Joel if they knew it, he replied “No but we will learn it!”. Fast forward to our reception, and JYB absolutely knocked their rendition of our first dance out of the park. It was truly such a beautiful moment and it was made by their amazing talent both instrumentally and vocally! The whole night was incredible. They truly kept the party going all night long, playing everything from current hits to classics that had everyone moving and out of their seats! Their talent is evident in every song they play! All night, our guests were coming up to us saying “amazing band” “they are so great” “where did you find them?”, clearly we had made a great choice! Throughout the planning process and the night of Joel was communicative, fun, professional, and easy to work with! I truly cannot begin to thank JYB for making our reception so incredibly fun and special. We have memories that will last us a lifetime and we are so grateful to them for being part of our big day! The Joel Young Band was incredible. They kept the party going the entire night and didn’t even really take breaks. They were great at keeping the crowd engaged and played great music that really kept the party alive! Our dance floor was jam packed the entire night and everybody had an amazing time. We are still getting compliments from friends and family on how great the band was. Joel was basically the MC the entire night and did everything right – he really helped keep the night flowing smoothly! Leading up to the wedding he was also very responsive and made the planning process seamless! Definitely look into them if you are looking for a fun band! -

The Joel Young Band was one of the best wedding bands we’ve ever seen. Not only were they an excellent band and musically talented, they knew how to party! The band was full of energy and knew how to read the room. They stuck to our schedule and we’re great MCs for the events, and they added all kinds of touches to make the night special. They got the crowd going, and played to different age groups across the course of the night. They had a great rendition of our first dance song, and played all the songs on our list. They loved the crowd and the crowd loved them back!! We had an amazing time, and we’d hire them again in a heartbeat. We’ll be recommending them for everyone of our friends’ weddings! -

Hire this band. Aside from the great communication, responsiveness to the craziness of planning a wedding, and the incredible value for your buck...this band absolutely ROCKED.
Our wedding could not stop dancing. Over 4 hours of incredibly fun music. This group knows how to keep a party going and how to create the most fun environment possible. They even had to start playing some easier music just so people would get off the dance floor and eat!
Joel Young Band was also so receptive to our requests, from special songs to a music-based game we wanted to play before our cake-cutting ceremony, to even allowing our cousin to play the drums with them for a song or two...the night was made even more perfect because of this phenomenal group.
Getting this band for your wedding should be the easiest decision for your special day! -

The Joel Young Band did an incredible job at our wedding reception and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking to hire a band for their wedding.
Joel made the entire process quick and easy. He got back to us almost immediately after we first reached out, the deposits were reasonable and easy to pay, and Joel was always quick to respond to any last minute questions or concerns leading up to the wedding date. Joel and the rest of the band even allowed my wife's cousin and brother in-law (both musicians) to join them on stage for two songs during the reception and could not have been more accommodating.
Our wedding was the first time my wife saw them perform but I had seen them twice before and they were every bit as good as I remembered. They absolutely crushed it at our reception and the dance floor was packed from the first song to the last. The band had an awesome stage presence and knew which songs to play and when. Almost everyone I talked to during the reception/after party and since, has had nothing but the highest praise for Joel and all of his bandmates and their energy. Guests have asked how we found our band and want to book them for their weddings/events.
Hiring the Joel Young Band was definitely one of the best decisions my wife and I made when planning our wedding!

I can’t imagine a better band for my wedding. The Joel Young Band was nothing short of INCREDIBLE. From the moment we spoke to Joel, we knew we made the right choice. He was so awesome to work with. He was so understanding when we had to reschedule due to covid, and then once the wedding got closer he helped us lay out the evening including letting us choose songs. They played songs we requested and felt out the vibe of our crowd to make sure everyone was on the dance floor and having a GREAT time. They’re high energy, interact with the crowd and had our guests cheering for an encore at the end!! Multiple of our guests have asked for the band info.
We had high expectations and they completely exceeded them. If you’re considering hiring The Joel Young Band- do it, I can’t recommend them enough!!! -

Best band we could have ever wished for!
Our expectations were truly exceeded in every way! Even at an amazing venue like West Point… party isn’t a party unless everyone is out on the dance floor having fun. The pumpkin spice martinis at cocktail hour might have loosened everyone up, but you guys crushed it. Numerous guests went out of their way to tell me that it was the best music they’ve heard at a wedding. Very few bands could pull off a playlist that kept everyone dancing from my lieutenants in their early 20s to my 92 year old grandfather and everyone in between for literally the entire duration of the wedding. Your enthusiasm, energy, and passion for what you do was apparent the entire evening. Thanks again! - Chris & Sarah -

Where to begin? In planning a Covid wedding, there were plenty of challenges, but working with Joel was not one of them. They rolled with the punches down to same-day changes, and our day would not have been the same without them. Amazing Night
We hired The Joel Young Band to perform at our wedding, trusting them to get the party going- after all, they played my cousin’s wedding 2 years ago, and were amazing! We could not have been happier with that decision! Great selection of songs, amazing energy, all smiles on the dance floor. The dance floor remained crowded throughout our affair, they played dance classics and new stuff, and slow dance songs with excellent authenticity and flare. Family and friends said it was the best wedding they’d ever attended!
From the start, Joel and George were easy to reach and prompt to respond. As the wedding date approached, they worked with us to plan the night, in fact, everything we planned went perfectly without a hitch. Easy going, respectful to our family and wishes, and crazy on the dance floor, these guys are a must, 5+ star! -

Along with my wife Susan, I’d like to thank Joel Young and his band for the stellar performance and ‘show’ they put on Saturday for Erin and Tom’s wedding. The evening was so very memorable, and the band was a major contributing factor. Their professionalism and quality of musicianship was at the top. Joel was fun in moving the evening and night along. He made it genuine and not the sometimes-canned approach bands take to wedding gigs. Erin and Tom can’t stop talking about how much fun they had at their reception with family, friends and good music.

We hired the Joel Young Band and it was the absolute best decision ever! My brother and sister in law saw them at a wedding and said they were the best wedding band they had ever seen, and they recommended that we hire them. We did, and I cannot express how amazingly incredible they are. This band is out of control amazing. Our guests were on the dance floor the entire night and we got more compliments than I can count. The music mix was spot on, they can play anything, and they simply made the night. If you want a night that your guests will never ever forget, this is the band to get! We had people ask for their card at the end of the night and so many people told us that they wished they would have known about them for their own weddings. Joel Young band we love you! Thank you for making our wedding a night that we and our guests will remember for a lifetime!

A huge thank you to the Joel Young Band! Mom said that Joel was attentive throughout the planning process, and very helpful with suggestions. The dance floor was packed all night long, they know so many different songs, so many genres! They were wonderful to my sister and particularly my parents, and helped with the ceremony, true pros. Joel and Steve did a great job playing guitar during the pre-party. My dad LOVES The Police [we grew up knowing every album], they did “Message in a Bottle” and “Driven to Tears” for him [we didn’t even request The Police until that evening], he was so touched and flabbergasted that they could ‘just do it!’, just like that… They played everything from Sinatra to ABBA to contemporary stuff like Lizzo with crazy enthusiasm- Our guests danced and danced some more, they are still talking about our band! Not your typical wedding band, that’s for sure. I would recommend them in a heartbeat, they are the best I have ever heard and seen! Thank you Joel Young Band!!! -

The Joel Young was absolutely fantastic at our wedding. I'm a rocker, my wife loves the Top 40s and my parents are classic rockers. Every single one of us left the party raving about the band. They sounded spot on with all the songs. We are big music fans and the band killed it on every single song. All the guests, young and old, never left the dance floor because the band knows how to put together a great set.
One amazing things about the band is that if there is a special song you are thinking of, they can learn it. We picked a unique Coheed and Cambria song for our first dance and they outdid themselves. It was a very special moment for us that wouldn't have been possible with another band.

The Joel Young Band made our wedding a night to remember. They were so easy to work with and the songs that we requested they learned note for note.
They knew how to read the crowd and extended songs and cut songs short based on what the crowd was feeling. They were so much fun to party with and were so personable. They even let me play guitar with them for a part of the night.

Joel Young Band was phenomenal for our wedding! Our wedding was on September 30th of last year. I was a nervous wreck trying to find a band. They were very reasonably priced, and the level of skill and professionalism they possess made everything seamless. They went above and beyond for us and tailored so many aspects that made the day unique and personal for us - from the personalized ceremony to playing a special song for our long-distance traveler. They even played Brandy with our surprise guest Dube on the drums!! The crowd went absolutely wild with excitement! Because of these guys, this was the best night of our lives. To wrap up the night, they played by husband’s favorite band – Zac Brown Band, and had him come up to sing! His aunt came up to me later in the night to tell me he was so good that he should be on the Voice. (I wouldn’t go that far… but it was pretty good.) My husband was on cloud 9 after that. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. We absolutely loved them! Thank you again for everything!!The Joel Young Band's reply:

Hiring this band was easily the best decision I made during the planning of our wedding. From the beginning consultation to the wedding day, I never once had to worry about The Joel Young Band and what I could expect from them. They played classical music for our ceremony (and I chose difficult music! No "Cannon in D" here!), acoustic for our cocktail hour, and then full party music for the entirety of the reception.
I'm not exaggerating when I say that they NEVER stopped playing music. Even when they ate dinner, they did so in shifts in order to keep the music going. They handled the transitions of the night effortlessly (announcing the bridal party, allowing for speeches, cake cutting, ect.) and I never once felt an awkward pause the entire night.
They were there from 6pm to 2am. They learned songs that I requested that weren't in their repertoire. They had people dancing all night long. If people started scattering off the dance floor, they'd change the music immediately to get people back on the floor.
We were married two and a half years ago and I still have people talking about our wedding and how amazing the band was.
My husband and I were the last people to leave the reception. Before leaving, we had this exchange with the band:
Me: "Thank you so much, you're incredible. Easily the best decision I've ever made."
JYB: "What about this lovely man you just married?"
Me: "Nope. I stand by my comment."
Who you hire to do your music for your reception isn't just about the music. They're the ones responsible for the logistics of your reception. They keep things moving and on time. Be sure you're hiring professionals. This group is Professional with a capital P. I can't say enough good things about them!The Joel Young Band's reply:

The best wedding band, hands down
I could not have asked for a better wedding band and overall experience. As a musician and someone who has seen hundreds of bands, I have very high standards and Joel exceeded every single one.
From the very beginning, Joel was a pleasure to work with - accommodating, professional, and friendly. For starters, the song we wanted for our first dance was not a typical song performed by dance bands. Joel and his crew learned it for us, perfected it, and performed it in a flawless fashion. The bass player even offered me the lead sheet he used after the wedding as a keepsake.
My wife, father-in-law, and I wanted to perform with the band, which Joel and his crew accommodated and welcomed. They learned the song we wanted to perform and made it possible to shine on our big night. Joel offered his guitar and amp to my father-in-law, which was very accommodating.
The performance energy and output from this band was like nothing I have seen at any affair I have ever been to. Our guests interacted with the band in a way that more closely resembles a concert then a wedding. That exchange of energy, which Joel made possible, only elevated the experience for our guests. Our guests have been telling us since we were married two years ago that our wedding was one of the most fun they have attended, and I owe much of that to Joel and his crew.
Any wedding band you hire will be able to hit the right notes, but not just anyone will be able to strike the right chord for you and your future spouse, your family, and friends

Amazing band that truly made our wedding a night to remember!
We had The Joel Young Band at our wedding in 2016. I had seen them perform at my friends wedding earlier that year and knew we had to book them. Music was extremely important to us as we knew both we and our guests LOVE to dance and have a great time. The JYB did not disappoint! Their energy throughout the entire evening was incredible, keeping everyone on their feet and even shouting for an encore at the end! No one wanted the night to end! They were extremely professional, knew how to read the crowd, and also incredibly nice and friendly to work with. Our music taste for our wedding was a mix of classic and current rock, country, pop, and Frank Sinatra-esque tunes. All around they knocked it out of the park. The Joel Young Band is awesome! They played our wedding ceremony and reception on 12/15/2018 and they were the perfect choice. We originally saw them play a wedding in 2015 and they were so great that we decided to book them for ours in 2018. Even though we did not give them many song recommendations, they played exactly the type of music that we wanted and kept everyone dancing the entire time, and their sound systems were excellent. Many of our guests are still talking about how great they were! Leading up to the event, Hank Lane was very helpful and always responded quickly to our emails and concerns. They also keep the entire band open for your date, so we were able to add additional musicians two weeks before the wedding. The Joel Young Band definitely gets a 5 star review from us - wish we could give them more!! Definitely try to book them for your event.The Joel Young Band's reply:

When the Joel Young band asked me if I would write a review of their performance at my wedding, I was more than happy to do so because let me tell you, the Joel Young band knows how to make an event EXPLODE into a dancing, singing crazy-good time! As soon as they hit the stage, it was less than 3 minutes before the entire place was shouting, singing, losing their shoes and their minds! Trust me, THIS is the band you want at your wedding; they’re not just onstage, they’re all over the place, mixing it up with the crowd while they’re rocking out the BEST song list you ever heard. I’ve been to several other weddings they played, and they have it all from their professional yet UNstuffy look to their kickass talent and presence - if you’re looking for a group for your reception, you should really consider the Joel Young band. They’re not like any wedding band I’ve ever seen, and they turned my wedding from a stereotypical reception into a night I’ll never forget!The Joel Young Band's reply:
