  We chose the venue because we wanted to have a central space where almost all the events would take place. John and the Irish Cottage staff were fantastic and everything came off perfectly. As for the experience of working with the Irish Cottage, they responded to our questions quickly, were happy to work with our requests, and made adjustments to the plan as needed. I would highly recommend them.

  I recently had my wedding and reception in Galena, IL at The Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel and was beyond impressed!
  From our hotel room to the delicious food - everything was AMAZING! I have been in the wedding industry for several years and was SO thankful that I could trust the staff at The Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel to make sure that everything was perfect!
  If you are interested in having a wedding at a location where the owners, GM, and staff genuinely care about you, your event, and your guests, I highly recommend The Irish Cottage Boutique Hotel for your wedding! Actually - for any event! After our reception, our guests headed up to Frank O'Dowd's Irish Pub, for more fun!!!

  I can't even begin to describe our experience with this establishment and their entire staff! From the moment we looked at the site (initially only for our ceremony), we were blown away by the exceptional service.
  
  My husband and I loved staying at the Irish Cottage, so it was the perfect setting for the wedding. We were not impressed by the food when we had previously dined there, so we didn't consider having the reception there. When John, the hotel manager, heard this, he asked if we would consider giving it a second chance. He showed us a couple of options for our reception (small group so we decided on Frank ODowd's pub inside the hotel), and also prepared two dinner options for us to try. AMAZING!! The Gaelic NY Strip is to die for! We set the menu and booked our wedding.
  
  Leading up to the wedding everyone was very responsive to all of our questions and concerns. From the moment we arrived two days before the wedding, until we left at the end of our honeymoon week, every detail was attended to and perfect. John, Kathy, Basil and the whole staff treated us like royalty. I had a congratulations card on my pillow when we checked into the room! Everybody shared in the excitement with us and treated my friends and family like their own.
  
  I would give the Irish Cottage a sixth star if I could. My husband and I look forward to celebrating our wedding anniversary there for many years to come.,

  The hotel is nestled against a tree-covered rolling hill. Next to the lobby is the Yeats Library with a huge windowsill, so you can curl up, read, drink tea, and enjoy the scenery. There's a nice spa and an Irish pub with live music on Saturday nights.
  
  The rooms are comfortable, the service is great, and it's a short drive from downtown Galena.
