    A Magical Weekend

Our daughter got married here a few weeks ago. The entire weekend was magical. The site is like out of a fairytale - it is difficult to imagine that a marriage that begins in such an enchanted place will be anything but wonderful.
Kim and her staff were attentive and personable. Having the beautiful farmhouse to lodge the wedding party made things so easy. Multiple guests told us it was the best wedding they’d ever been to, including some who had made weddings for their own offspring. If you’re looking for a spot with natural beauty, a fun vibe, and a relaxing atmosphere, this is it.

    A truly remarkable venue

The Inn at West Settlement was the most perfect wedding venue we could have ever imagined. My husband and I were fortunate to be married here on 10/15/22, and we had the most incredible ceremony and reception.
We were completely taken in from the first time we visited the property and knew immediately it was the right fit for us. The location is so peaceful and absolutely breathtaking surrounded by the mountains and we were blessed with gorgeous weather and stunning foliage. Our family and friends LOVED the venue and location, and we are still receiving so many compliments on how beautiful everything was!
One of our favorite aspects of the venue was being able to stay in the gorgeous farmhouse on the property with our immediate families. We didn’t have to worry about getting to the venue on the day of and we could really enjoy spending extra time all together. We also really wanted the opportunity to host a weekend of events to spend as much time as possible with all our guests, so we were able to host a welcome dinner and farewell breakfast at the barn as well.
Kim was TERRIFIC to work with. She and her team clearly take pride in this property; they make it shine in the best light possible. We loved every single person who worked with us throughout preparation and during the weekend. Everyone was so polite and welcoming and easy to collaborate with. Kim has fantastic taste and we completely trusted all her suggestions. We worked with the majority of her recommended vendors and that was a huge benefit – everything ran so smoothly and, if any adjustments were needed, they were quickly and efficiently modified. Everything went perfectly.
There were SO MANY details that made this venue stand out to us, but I will list a few. Kim also worked with us for the flowers, and we were thrilled with how they came together! The natural beauty of the space meant that very little added decoration was needed and there is a prop closet with items to repurpose for centerpieces, candle holders, chalk boards, seating chart displays, etc. This was an immense help when planning because we did not have to bring all these items with us. There were also several small touches that made the barn feel really personal and homey – the gorgeous farm tables (they are so beautiful that no runners or tablecloths are needed), mismatched chairs, assorted vintage china for the place settings, and we were able to set up some lawn games for the cocktail hour.
I clearly could go on and on about how wonderful The Inn at West Settlement is! We couldn’t have found a more perfect place. It was an honor to host our special occasion at such a remarkable venue.

Perfection! A personal, hands on wedding experience

An idyllic setting for a wedding; truly a little piece of paradise! My son Daniel married the beautiful Miriam on June 19, 2019. The Inn itself was a fantastic place to stay. The six large bedrooms and three full bathrooms allowed both the bride’s & groom’s immediate family to stay there and bond as a new family. The kitchen is large and well stocked with staples and it seems that most of the bridal parties that stay there leave a little something behind to enhance the visit. All the rooms are large and comfortable, and there is a large flat screen with satellite TV. For the musically inclined, there is a piano, drum, and other instruments decorating the large living area. Best of all, the owner, Kim, is remarkable - thoughtful, kind, and incredibly helpful.

Kim offers full use of the “prop room” for vases, dishes, all sorts of things to make the room unique and beautiful. She also has gorgeous flower gardens, and she helped us select & cut flowers for the centerpieces, which she also helped put together. The barn has these incredible solid wood tables for dining, so no tablecloths are even needed. Kim also has a collection of beautiful china, glasses and flatware to use. The bride’s mother brought along some family china that was no longer being used, and donated it to the collection after our bride and groom used it at the wedding. It was very special and sentimental, and I can’t imagine having that flexibility in many other places.

This was my first look at the property in person and let me tell you, the pictures simply don’t do it justice. The “before” pictures of the bride and groom getting ready, the ‘first look” and family photos were taken in the beautiful farmhouse just prior to the wedding.

The outdoor site for the wedding is spectacular! After nervously watching the hourly weather forecast, we were relieved by a late afternoon shower that immediately cooled everything down. (But no worries, Kim has a rain option available and tons of umbrellas handy.) The sun came out and the outdoor ceremony was on! Watching my son marry his beloved under that beautiful arch, topped with the extraordinary quilted chuppah (made with love by the bride’s Aunt Laurie) with a pond and a mountain in the background was surreal; it felt like the garden of Eden itself.

After the ceremony, the guests moved to the cocktail party on a lovely grassy area outside the barn. It is large enough to accommodate the food, the bar and the guests, yet still feels intimate. The photographer whisked away the bride and groom for some amazing photos outdoors. The caterer Kim recommended served up delicious, beautiful food both at the cocktail hour and the dinner. We moved to the upstairs of the barn for the dinner and dancing.

As the sun was beginning to set and the guests entered the barn, it was a breathtaking sight. The room was aglow, the wood tables gleamed, all the flowers (several vases per table) were stunning. Kim has these old windows that we were able to set up on a table at the entrance to the barn. Instead of place cards, the table numbers & names were written on the window panes, another unique and personal touch. There is a perfectly sized dance floor with plenty of room for a band, if desired, or a DJ. On the opposite end of the room was the bar, a small seating area (with Kim’s grandmother’s couch!) and a table for a wedding cake or in our case, cupcakes and cannolis.

It was an unforgettable wedding, followed by a lovely brunch the next morning in the barn. Truly a weekend to remember for everyone who attended! I can’t thank Kim enough for every kindness she showed us, and for helping create memories that will last a lifetime.

    Perfect Barn Venue

I cannot recommend this venue enough! If you are looking to have a picturesque barn wedding in the Catskills, this is the place to do it! The property is absolutely gorgeous and it was so convenient to be able to stay at a farmhouse on site during the wedding weekend. Kim was super helpful from the outset: she provided us with a comprehensive list of vendors in the area, she answered questions throughout the planning process, and she made the actual weekend run so smoothly! We did not have to worry about a thing (even the variable weather!) during the weekend, Kim took care of it all. Many of our guests came up to us during the wedding to ask where we had found such a perfect venue. Don't miss out on this special place!!

Great Venue for a Catskills Wedding

I have attended serval weddings at the Inn At West Settlement. It is IMO the best venue in The Catskills. Everything you need is onsite. The views are great and Kim and her staff always go out of their way for their couples

The Inn at West Settlement was exactly what we were looking for in a wedding venue. A gorgeous setting where we could stay on site. We stayed at the Inn with our bridal party for two days prior to the wedding and enjoyed glorious fall foliage prior to our big day. The owners are great to work with — we hired Kim to be our day-of coordinator and the day went like clockwork. We also saved a lot by utilizing the barn’s “prop-room” to decorate the barn for our reception, and we were even able to create our own centerpieces on site. Our guests loved the views from the barn, and certainly felt the trip was worth it to be in such a beautiful place.

We had the most exceptional time at the Inn. KIm was extremely accommodating, the grounds were beautiful, she helped coordinate all the vendors. It was better than I could have possibly imagined. If you are looking for a rustic, elegant country barn wedding look no further!

My wife and I were recently married at the Inn and had a truly beautiful, magical experience. In searching for a venue, we wanted to find a place that was in a pretty, remote area where our guests could feel free to make part of their own experience unique by exploring & wandering about. The fact that we could rent the house on the property was a huge added bonus; we spent the entire week there, allowing us to slowly prepare the barn at our own pace and to have a way less stressful experience on the whole. Andy & Kim, the Inn's owners, are friendly, hard-working and truly dedicated to the couples they host for weddings. We worked with Kim as our wedding planner; she was attentive to detail and always within reach to answer our many questions. With Andy we planned a Friday night BBQ on the property that went wonderfully. This is GREAT venue if you want to customize the experience a bit and decorate the place to your own unique liking. We were able to dance late into the night with no worries about the event being cut off and our guests told us they had a wonderful time and that the location was a big part of it. We truly recommend this venue and it will forever hold a special place in our hearts!

    Absolutely idyllic venue + location

We cannot overstate how thrilled we are with how our wedding at The Inn at West Settlement turned out! It was a dream location, more idyllic than anything we could have imagined, and 1000% worth the cost. It made for an absolutely magical wedding weekend.

THE PROPERTY: The amazing thing about this venue is just how varied and spacious the property is, and how much access you have to every nook and cranny – they only book one wedding per weekend, so the idyllic property is all yours from Friday morning through Sunday afternoon! The farmhouse where we stayed is cozy and beautifully decorated, the barn where we held our reception is one-of-a-kind with its soaring rafters and natural, rustic finish, and the terrace and outdoor bar are perfect for the more casual hangs including rehearsal dinner on Friday night and cocktail hour on Saturday. The property not only allows for the seamless flow of guests but also encourages them to explore and take in the lush surroundings (there’s a firepit, lawn games, a glistening pond, stone walls galore, you name it). Everything manmade on the property is amazing, but perhaps the best aspect of this place is the breathtaking natural landscape. Located on a private dead end road, the venue is nestled in a sweet little valley surrounded by rolling hills, forest, and natural creeks. The views of the Catskills are to die for! There are multiple ceremony sites to choose from, and the backdrop for each is more gorgeous than the next. Countless guests and vendors (including our photographer, who shoots a wedding nearly every weekend) exclaimed that it was one of, if not the prettiest setting they’d ever been to for such an event.

THE COORDINATOR/FLOWERS: Kim Lynas, who owns and operates this venue, also serves as the day-of coordinator, and she is wonderful to work with. She is calm, cool, and collected and brings a wealth of experience to the wedding planning process. She seamlessly handled our vendors day-of and ensured that everything stayed on schedule. Most impressively (in my book at least), she’s a Master Gardener, and maintains an outrageously abundant cultivated flower garden (a meadow, really) at the venue for you to hand pick your wedding flowers from! The flowers she has to choose from are beyond beautiful, there are so many of them, they are as local and sustainable as you can get, and they come at no extra cost. My mom, sister, and I created our own bouquets and designed the boutonnieres, and Kim was a supportive, patient, and fun teacher throughout the process. This Friday midday activity was one of my favorite moments of the whole weekend.

We fell in love with this venue during our very first visit, and we could not be happier with our choice. Give this place a try – you won’t regret it!

    A Magical Place

The Inn at West Settlement will hold a special place in our hearts. We couldn't have imagined a more perfect place to get married. All of our guests commented on our gorgeous and special the venue was.

There's so much that's included with the venue. You have the barn, but you also have access to the garden, which we used to make our centerpieces. You also have the option to bring your own liquor, and can return what you don't use which is a big money saver.
You also have the whole site to yourself for the weekend. Being able to stay on site at the beautiful farmhouse made everything so easy.
Kim can be a bit set in her ways, so you have to be able to stand your ground on the things that really matter to you, but overall she's great and really knows her stuff.
We cannot begin to say how much we loved having our wedding here, we wouldn't have changed a thing! We can't wait to come back one day for an anniversary and stay at the farmhouse again.

We decided to have a late season wedding up in the Catskills and we couldn't have chosen a better place than the Inn at West Settlement in Roxbury NY. The location is absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Kim and Andy were very helpful in helping us arrange all the details beforehand and putting together a memorable celebration. Both the house and the barn were wonderful and suited us (and our DIYness) perfectly. We also highly recommend the local caterer Mary (just ask Kim/Andy!).
If you are looking for a amazing place surrounded by natural beauty and want to really make your wedding your own, the Inn at W.S comes highly recommended!!

The Inn at West Settlement is one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. It was the perfect backdrop for our wedding. The whole day felt like a dream. Kim is fantastic at making sure everything runs smoothly for your special day. Andy and Kim keep the property so beautiful and you can just feel the love that is put into every detail. My guests said our wedding was one of the best they had ever been to. No one was in their seat except to eat. We had games set up outside and dancing inside, every one got to spread out around the property and do what made them happy! Plus we had a fire with smore's!! Anyone looking to do a barn wedding needs to check this place out.

This Barn venue provided the backdrop for one of the most memorable experiences of a lifetime. I had a very specific vision of my wife and I's "rustic DIY" wedding and The Inn @ West Settlement brought it all together. With a prop room full of great decorations (mason jars, candles, rustic antiques, ect...) we were able to set up the barn exactly as we wanted. The ability to hire a sound tech and speakers through the venue was great since we just wanted to use an iPod. We cut all of our own flowers on the estate and used the venues vases to decorate tables. This venue is so great for those who want to impart their own touch on their special day. Kim and Andy the two owners do a great job of helping along the way and bringing it all together. The remote location and the spectacular grounds and the scenery it provides leaves a lasting impression. Highly recommended! Oh, and did I mention Bon Fire?....

The location and barn were absolutely perfect. The rolling hills, stone walls, fields and house make this an ideal barn wedding. We rented the house for the week and were able to spend much needed additional time together. Our friends and family kept asking us how we found such a beautiful location and kept telling us our wedding was the best one they've ever been to. This venue made my dream wedding come true.

This is a mixed review as the venue was lovely (and a great deal) but we struggled with the owners. We got married at the Inn at West Settlement this past fall and had a great day/night. We loved being able to stay on the property to make a weekend of the event and getting married outside with the mountains in the background was incredible. We got so many compliments on the space and loved the bonfire. That being said, we had a very difficult time dealing with the owners and this sadly changed our feelings about the venue. One of the biggest issues we faced was with Kim. Before she even met us, Kim was rude, unresponsive and unhelpful. She is also the ONLY wedding planner allowed at The Inn, if you do not pay her extra to be there you CANNOT have anyone else. We opted not to use her but did have her arrange our brunch the morning after which was a huge mistake. She was rude to one of our mothers and our guests and did not put out enough food even though we wound up having 20-30 less people than we paid for. Another issue was the owners adding things that were not in the contract. They seemed really laid back but when we decided to go with a local caterer that was not Mary's Kitchen, the only one suggested in their packet, they became angry and attempted to charge our caterer an extra $500 to use their "kitchen" (a room with no stove). We faced similar pushback and charges with other vendor choices as well. We are not sensitive people, but Andy and Kim made me cry multiple times during the planning process. Luckily Andy really stepped up the day of our wedding and we had a lovely memorable day, but we think it is important to know going in that you may face some issues on flexibility. Be sure to check your contract and to stand firm on things you want and make sure everything is in writing before you sign. The space is really lovely, so as long as you can arrive at a good place with the owners maybe you can have an easier go of it than we did.
