  I had my wedding at the Lodge at Otter Crest, the separate restaurant on site. I organized my room block, but wish it had been held for longer - they only held the block until 2.5 months before the wedding and many people booked their rooms after the block had closed. Luckily, they still honored the block discount. People couldn't book their rooms online though and had to call in order to make their reservations. Some of my guests had to play phone tag in this process as well. I also didn't realize until the week before the wedding that check in time was at 4pm - the same time my ceremony was supposed to start! When I talked to their manager, they said they would make a note and try to have rooms available by 3pm and I didn't hear any issues from my guests about their check in. The rooms are all individually owned and decorated and all the times I've stayed here, each room has been WONDERFUL. The views are absolutely incredible and very well priced for the coast during the summer. I would absolutely recommend the Lodge at Otter Crest venue and accommodations at the Inn - I would be sure to encourage your guests to book their rooms early and to consider the 4pm check in time when planning your ceremony.

  The location was fantastic. There is a beautiful area outside where we had the ceremony and it was perfect! There is also an inside area where we had the reception and it is a nice big room with windows. The only thing I would caution people about is that the "valets" did not make themselves visible to guests. If guests went to the front desk and asked, the valets were provided, which not many of our guests did. It is quite a long ways from the parking area to the banquet room, so they should be available and visible to guests, with signs directing people. This is a wonderful location, but be sure to request signage for the valet parking. There is also a playground outside of the banquet area, and the young children in our group had fun there during the reception. Yes, we were lucky and the weather was beautiful!

  Beautiful venue at a great price and the food was delicious. Working with the staff however was a different story. Getting anyone on the phone was nearly impossible and email responses took several days, if you got one at all. I dealt with 4 different people to get a contract in place and prices changed every time. Many of our guests had trouble getting a room even though we had a block reserved. Our guests were all charged different prices for rooms. Everyone was supposed to get 25% off. Some got the full amount some got less. Some were only given 1 night at a discounted rate others got the full amount. One of our guests had to argue for the discount because the clerk told her the discount was only for people in the wedding. We paid for a deluxe room with a kitchen and got a refrigerator and a microwave. The venue was still amazing and everyone would have been happy to pay full price but the constant quoting prices and changing them was frustrating. Anyone would be much better off going to the Inn and handeling the contract face to face. Get everything in writing and keep a close eye on your bill.
