Gerri and the Holly Hotel staff were amazing to work with for my wedding. We decided to go with the Holly Hotels chef selection for dinner and couldn't have been happier. Even though we worked with the chef designing the menu and several courses he still ended up surprising us! Everything was delicious and exactly how we wanted to share our day with out family!Gerri and the Holly Hotel staff were amazing to work with for my wedding. The Holly Hotel has a very dear position in our hearts. My husband and I went here on one of our dates in the very beginning and this has become "Our Place". We decided to have an outdoor ceremony with reception here.
While Trisha was here, she was fabulous. She left to seek other opportunities, but she was wonderful. Filling her shoes, with a heavy load but a courageous attitude is Terry. WE. LOVE. TERRY. We can not stress this enough. Terry worked endlessly to fix any issues and make this day wonderful. We truly enjoyed working with Terry on this wedding. We were even a little sad at the end because the day was over and we weren't going to be able to plan anymore with him. At least we get to see him again since we are members.
We recommend the Holly Hotel for all your party and wedding needs. The space is smaller, but it was perfect for our 85 guests.
Thank you so much to George, Chrissy, Kim (who just came in and did an EXCELLENT job), and Terry along with the Holly Hotel staff.

Very flexible and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted.
Took too long to answer emails, in my opinion, but I know they have a wedding almost every weekend and are very busy.
I wasn't happy with my bouquets, I don't think the florist listened to me at all, but everything else was perfect.Very flexible and worked with us to get exactly what we wanted.

We got married here in 2013 using a Groupon that included basically everything. It really was a great deal. It included the ceremony & reception space, flowers, centerpieces, officiant, food, champagne and the cake. The food was absolutely amazing. The problem is the communication with the staff.
There were weddings at the Holly Hotel every weekend (sometime multiple in a weekend) and the wedding planner was spread so thin. I would have to contact her 3-5 times before I would get an answer to my question.
Also, the Holly hotel was never clear on what I needed to do vs. what they were going to do for me. I had assumed that since the officiant was included in the package, that they were taking care of it, but no, I found out the hard way a few weeks before my wedding that I was supposed to call an officiant. You can image that most of them were already booked.
The flowers we received in our bouquets were not what I had discussed at all with the florist, but the first time I saw them was on the day of the wedding, so there was much I could do about it.
Lastly, my (now) in-laws had inquired about purchasing a case of wine for our wedding. I was standing right next to them and she said that it would be about $120 for that type of wine. Fast-forward to the wedding, and the wrong wine was ordered, the bottles were placed on the tables per my request, but the wine was never chilled so my guests got to drink a warm white wine. Also, my in-laws received a surprise $300 bill for the case of wine, when they were only expecting about $100. Apparently, the Holly Hotel charges for the wine by the glass and they forgot to mention that fact. They didn't even serve the wine (Or chill it), just simply placed the wine bottles on the table, so how they calculated the number of glasses used is beyond me. This one seriously makes me the most upset to think back on because someone tried to do something nice for us and it backfired in about every way possible. We got married here in 2013 using a Groupon that included basically everything. Do not elope here
The event coordinator Kate is TERRIBLE.
I booked my elopement here bc I liked that they offered a package which didn't require a lot of work on my end (or so I thought). The last month leading up to my wedding has been a nightmare trying to deal with the event coordinator. Basically all email correspondence continuously had incorrect information or went unanswered.
The day of my wedding my friend and I arrive almost 2 hours early and the table in our room was set up for 10 people instead of 11 (the floor also had NOT been vacuumed). Kate said she would fix it but we ended up rearranging the entire room bc Kate was MIA, hiding in her office w/the door closed. We moved around tables/chairs and stacked the extra chairs and place settings by the doorway. Since we extended the length of the table we wanted a couple more candle sticks. I went up to Kate's office and asked her for some to which she replied "oh yea no problem” and I went back downstairs. 20 mins went by and still no candles. Then I flagged down a waitress who immediately brought us some and started removing the extra stuff from the room. Around that time Kate finally emerged from her hole to “check on us” (without candles). She made a comment about how she had everything under control and she would take care of it. By that point we were starting to get more and more frustrated; like it’s 30-45 mins before I’m supposed to get married and we still need to get ready so stop telling us you're taking care of it because you CLEARLY are not. Then we asked her for scissors and vases for the flowers and she said "oh yea no problem I'll bring that to you - yea I have scissors right here.." then walked out. We literally did not see Kate again for the next FORTY MINUTES. During that time our waiter was thankfully able to help us get everything we needed.
We FINALLY got upstairs to the room to get ready about a half hour before ceremony was supposed to start. I was LIVID, and apparently Kate got the memo that, Idk, someone was calling her out on not doing her job and she popped into the dressing room.. she LEGIT got IN MY FACE and said “oh yea what can I do??!!” Like you could do your job since WE just spent an hour+ doing YOUR job.. then she had the audacity to tell me it wasn’t her fault that the table was set up for the incorrect number of guests – that it was MY fault for not telling her.. I told her that I emailed both her and Chrissy (the other event person) a week prior and Chrissy immediately confirmed and it wasn’t until I tried showing her the email that she backed off and left the room.
The ONLY thing Kate did from that point (/at all) was hold the door open for my dad and I to the alley, then I saw her a few times out of the corner of my eye during the ceremony taking pictures with her cell phone… (I haven’t been sent any of those btw). Thank god I provided my own photographer or else I would have ZERO wedding photos. I also provided my own bouquet thankfully bc the wrist corsages I paid extra for fell apart before we sat down to dinner.
I think their level of communication, coordination and professionalism was horrendous and completely unacceptable. Kate made it abundantly clear she couldn’t care less about my wedding and added unnecessary stress to the happiest day of my life. I honestly cannot believe that woman has a job. If you are looking for a “stress-free” elopement package DO NOT GET MARRIED HERE.The event coordinator Kate is TERRIBLE.

I booked this place for an Oct 13 (Friday the 13th) Wedding due to its spooky nature. The February before this date, my Dad was suddenly and tragically killed in a horrible accident and all of my vendors were able to give me my deposit back...except for Holly Hotel. They gave me back half and said "If the hotel gets booked on this date, you can have the rest." Well, I called this week to ask about the date and it WAS booked, but now I was being told it was not an equal event, info that Geri conveniently left out before. Emailed the owner George pleading with him my horrible situation, even offered to send my Dad's death certificate, but he didn't even bother responding to me. This place ONLY cares about the money. And Brides, you are NOT number 1 here. I was told "The Bride is always right, the answer is always yes!" but when I requested one of their waiters be a speaker at my wedding and tell stories of the historic hotel to my guests, the answer was no. Geri is very distracted, always answering phones and interrupting us and forgetting what we were just discussing. My half-missing deposit is a constant reminder for me of the wedding that could've been. Just please, don't make the same mistake I did and book here. If something tragic happens or a circumstance you can't control, more than likely they will not understand. Save yourself the worry and headache and go book somewhere else.
